wednesday addams x fem!reader — 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you went trick or treating with your girlfriend. warnings/themes: fluff, soft!wednesday (ooc eheh), halloween, trick-or-treating, making out words: 1.8k
Tumblr media
'Tis the witching season!
The whole neighborhood is in a festive mood, with ghouls and ghosts lurking around, kids dressed up as their favorite or the scariest characters.
Now, there's someone who couldn't care less about all the hoopla.
You know Wednesday doesn't like to be all sunshine and rainbows, but secretly, you've always wished she would let her guard down and have some fun.
“It's overrated,” she scoffs. But if there's one thing that can sway her, it's you.
The nostalgia. You missed those carefree days when your only worry was scoring as much candy as possible in one night. And now you have the perfect opportunity to go back to your child self and relive those memories.
“Pleeeeeeaaaaase Wednesday,” you whine, dropping to your knees and clasping your hands in front of her.
She doesn't bat an eye. She just continues to write, her fingers moving across the typewriter.
“Please baby, please love, please,” you try again, pulling out all the stops—cute silly nicknames, puppy dog eyes that you know she secretly adores. “It'll be super fun.”
Finally, she stops writing. She lifts her head and turns to face you. She pauses for a long moment, considering your plea. “Fine. But only on one condition,” she starts. “I know it's important to you—so I'll indulge your request. This is just a one-time thing. We won't be making this a habit.”
“Just... once?”
“Just once,” she repeats.
You think for a moment. “...okay.” You nod. “But I'll choose the costume.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Fine, no funny business. Let's make this quick and clean, understood?”
“Understood.” You grinned.
“Hey there, Mario!” you exclaim with an exaggerated Italian accent while waving your hands around, trying to mimic how he does it. “It's-a-me, Luigi, your lovable sidekick!”
“It's-a-me, Luigi? I don't know which I hate more—my ridiculous costume or your ridiculous sense of humor.”
Her eyes narrowed as she looked down at the garish plumber's costume she was forced to wear. She even had to wear a fake mustache. “I can't believe I let you convince me to wear this ridiculous costume.”
You shrugged nonchalantly, ignoring the daggers she was sending your way. “Don't worry, no one will recognize you as Wednesday with this get-up.” You winked, but she was having none of it. “Besides, this is just a 'one-time' thing, right?”
She groaned inwardly. “Just make sure you carry this, you have a stronger arm.” With a huff, she hands you the pumpkin. “After all, you're the one who suggested this fiasco, so the least you could do is carry the stupid thing.”
Her hand snaked around your wrist, her grip was so tight you could feel it even through your gloves.
You both made your way to Jericho, the streets were alive with kids in crazy costumes running around, laughing and shouting as they made their way to different houses. The streets are lined with jack-o'-lanterns and spider webs.
Suddenly, you spot a house that looks amazing. There are a few children waiting outside, excitedly chattering as they anticipate a chance to fill their buckets with candy.
“Let's try that one,” you say, pointing to the house. “They look like they're giving out some good treats.”
Wednesday just nods and crosses her arms, not seeming interested in going with you to get candies. “I'll just stay here,” she insists.
“Are you sure?” you ask, pausing to look at her for a moment.
She simply nods, waiting for you to get your candies. You give her a quick smile and head towards the house.
You ring the doorbell and wait for someone to answer. A woman with a warm smile opens the door.
“Trick or treat!” you say, holding your pumpkin out.
However, the woman looks at you with disdain. “Aren't you a little too old for this?”
The smile slips from your face as you realize what she means. But before you can say anything else, she closes the door in your face. You stand there, stunned, staring at the closed door.
That was rude.
You returned to Wednesday, your shoulders slumping as you held up your empty pumpkin.
She looks at you with an eyebrow raised, as if to ask what happened.
You scratch the back of your neck and frown. She could almost see the smoke coming out of your ears. “She... she said I was too old for this.”
You can tell she's angry at the way you were treated, and you secretly hope she doesn't plan on getting back at the woman for her rudeness. She can't believe the audacity of that woman, as if there's an age limit for having fun.
Still, you don't let the incident put a damper on the rest of your night.
“It's fine, there's still a lot of houses we can try again,” you say, grabbing her arms and looking around for another house to approach.
But people keep telling you that you're too old for Halloween and refuse to give you candy.
Wednesday senses your disappointment and starts coming up with elaborate plans to avenge the people who have denied you treats. She seems determined to make them pay for their deeds, yet you keep trying to convince her to just move on and keep searching for sweets.
Just as you were about to give up, you came across a house with the porch light off, but you could hear giggling coming from inside.
This time, Wednesday joins you in trick-or-treating.
Together, you knock on the door and a person in a ghost costume stands in the doorway, holding a bowl of candy.
“Trick or treat,” you say, holding out your pumpkin for a sweet.
Wednesday's stare serves as a warning to the person not to disappoint you or suffer the consequences.
The man hesitates before finally grabbing a handful of candy from the bowl and thrusting it into your pumpkin, his hands shaking with fear.
You thank them, and Wednesday gives you a smile as you walk away. “See? Things aren't so bad after all.”
Wednesday rolls her eyes. “Let's just keep going,” she says, before pushing you forward towards the next house.
You were walking back from trick-or-treating, your pumpkin filled to the brim with sweets and goodies.
“Let's go back,” Wednesday mumbled as she walked alongside you, still holding onto your hand. Her hand slipped into your biceps, yet she hardly even noticed.
You nod, prepared to return home. However, before you can leave, you hear a voice from behind you.
“Wednesday Addams?!” the boy says in shock, recognizing her beneath the Mario costume.
“Oh, for Christ's sake,” Wednesday muttered under her breath. She couldn't believe someone had recognized her in her stupid, ridiculous Mario costume. She could swear in her life that she's never felt so stupid.
You turned to see a boy dressed in a brightly colored insect costume, his antennae bobbing as he waved at both of you. “Hey Eugene!”
Wednesday narrows her eyes. “What are you doing here, Eugene?”
“I came to get some candy!” He replied eagerly, his eyes sparkling, but then his eyes widened. “Wait... is that really you... Wednesday?” he asks, taking a step forward.
Wednesday clenches her jaw and you stifle a laugh, amused by her reaction. You offer Eugene some candy from your pumpkin, and he excitedly accepts it, thanking you.
“Eugene, can you take a picture of us?” you request, handing him your phone.
Wednesday snapped her head in your direction, her eyebrows furrowed as she glared at you. She's just about lost it. She swore in her mind that she would never take a picture wearing this ridiculous costume.
You flung your arm around her and gave a peace sign as Eugene held up your phone. You chuckle and give Wednesday's waist a reassuring squeeze.
“Three, two...”
Wednesday knows she will be miserable. But she looked at your smile and realized that, despite her aversion to the costume, she didn't want to ruin your fun. So she reluctantly struck a peace sign, hoping that no one would recognize her under that ridiculous mustache.
“One!” the flash flickers, and the photo is captured.
She couldn't deny the warmth in her chest as she watched the picture saved to your phone.
You realized that your feet were starting to feel tired after walking so much. Eager to rest your tired legs, the two of you made your way over to a nearby bench, tucked away amidst the shadows of the trees.
Wednesday is now holding the pumpkin-shaped basket full of sweets while you gaze up at the stars in the sky. She eventually pulled out one of the candies and popped it into her mouth.
“Taste good?” You turn to look at her.
“Tastes like poison,” she teases before popping it into her mouth.
You can't help but stare at her lips. Why did her lips look like they were begging to be kissed?
“Do you want one?” Wednesday asks, seemingly reading your thoughts.
You were almost too stunned to speak, but a soft “yes” managed to escape your lips.
Small smile formed on her lips, as though she knew exactly what she was doing. She offered the candy before you swallowed it whole, savoring the sweetness on your tongue.
A glance at her lips and then back at her eyes told her everything she needed to know.
Before you knew it, Wednesday had leaned in to share the sweet with you, her lips soft and supple on yours, the taste of candy still lingering on your tongue.
When you finally pulled away, you were left weak in the knees and breathless.
Wednesday's lips part slightly, her breath brushing against your cheek. You lean in again, but she stops you with a gentle hand on your chest.
“One condition,” she whispers.
Your eyebrows knit together in confusion.
“I get to choose the costume next year.”
“We're going to trick or treat again next year?” you ask, grinning. “Fine,” you concede, “your choice of costume next year then.”
With Wednesday's permission granted, you lean in for another kiss, this time lingering even longer than before. Your lips lock together in a sensual dance.
But you pull away, teasing her. “Wait.”
“What now?”
“Well, I was thinking we could dress up as Remy and his human companion, Alfredo from Ratatouille.”
Wednesday's eyes narrow, clearly annoyed at your choice.
“Okay, I admit, that was a terrible idea, but what about SpongeBob and Patrick? or I can go as Squidward, and we can be rivals instead,” you suggest, desperate to find a costume she'll actually like.
She rolls her eyes, but you could already see the corner of her lips twitching up into a small smile. “You did not just suggest that.”
“Oh yes I did.”
“I'm not dressing up as a rat with a chef's hat next year, that's for sure. And you're not going to make me dress up as a sponge either.”
You smirk. “Maybe not, but I'll still find a way to make you dress up as something ridi—”
Before you finish your sentence, Wednesday's lips are on yours once more, drowning out your words. Her fingers glide down your jaw as she draws you in closer.
“That's it,” she whispers between kisses. “You're stuck with me now.”
And you wouldn't want it any other way.

n/a: Normally I do check the chapters a little bit, but today I didn't :/ STILL enjoy the chapter. TYSM for the notes, love you all <3333 THIS IS NEXT DAY, NOT THE CONTINUATION OF THE CAR SCENE
INDEX
No, you wasn’t in one of your binge episodes, but you were certain that the cashier was thinking that as he kept scanning all the candies, chocolates and ice creams.
“I have a big sleepover” You said laughing awkwardly. He did the same nodding, when he said the final price, your wallet almost cried as you took out some dollars “Bye!”
You left the store opening the pack of red licorice and eating one of them while you walked on one of the alleys between houses and stores, nobody should see your final destination, aka Ellie’s garage. People were to nosey around here, you knew that they would tell your mom how much you bought but you had a perfect cover for that.
“Hi, Joel” you waved watching him on his porch, sat in one chair with a beer on his hand.
“The kid’s in the garage” he gave you a nod and then pointed to where your girlfriend was, you nodded already knowing that. “Don’t have too much fun, you two”
“Oh no, sir, we’re just going to hang out casually, Dina and Jesse will join us too”
“No need to lie, just share some of that red candy you got there” you wanted to say something else but it would be stupid, you just gave him a couple of red licorice and murmured a little ‘bye’
Joel did knew something was going on between you but Ellie told him to ‘mind his own business’ so he was just waiting for her to come around and tell him that you two were official. You knocked on her door feeling the embarrassment on your face because of what Joel suggested.
“Coming” you heard Ellie say and some movement before she opened the door, she seemed surprised to see you, maybe because the whole night in the group chat you said how impossible it was for you to hang out the next day, and now you were in front of her and very early “You came!”
She stepped aside, letting you pass inside and close the door behind you. The place was a little bit a disaster but you didn’t mind just going straight to the couch and flopping onto it. “This is for you”
She picked up the plastic bag taking out everything you bought, she seems happy watching her favourite sweets but at the same time she looks at you suspicious, her eyes narrow, trying to read your face to see if there was any trace of guilt. You must have done something to buy her so many things.
“What have you done?” she asks pointing at you with a chocolate bar, you gasped surprised and started laughing which made you look more dubious. “Have I done something?”
Now she was pointing at her face with a confused look, you shook your head, standing up and planting a little kiss on her nose “Aren’t you on your period?”
“Yeah! How do you know that? It just came today”
“Because yours always come three days before mine, I checked my pink calendar”
You fucking knew it, Ellie hormones were high, that’s why she was so horny last week, that’s why she was getting little mood swings and that’s why she was so sensible enough to say ‘I Love You’ to you. Mentally, you were jumping and clapping, you knew that word just slipped in the moment, it was just that… Hormones.
“You are a weird, I kind of like that”
“I am not! You know how synchronized we are ? Soon we will have periods the same day, that would means that we spend to much time together” your hands were on her hair brushing it slowly. Of course you liked Ellie, you liked her so much and being girlfriends was perfectly great, you adored her, you cherished her, you cared for her deeply, you had feelings for her, you had a strong attachment to her… but LOVE? That’s a big word, too big for you two. After she drove you back to your house last night, obviously three blocks away, you had trouble falling asleep, tossing and turning until the thought of maybe she being on her cycle crossed your mind, you felt relieved.
Ellie gave you a little peck, you gave her another an soon you two were making out, she laughed softly in the middle of it making you laugh too. The loud knock on the door makes you both separate knowing that it might be one of your friends.
“Williams, open up! I have the goodies and they are hot!” Jesse’s voice and Dina’s laughter were very quite audible; you could already guess what they were referring to. Ellie quickly hid the sweets and you just sat in a corner of the couch trying to make it look as if you were uncomfortable in there.
Once she opened the door and Dina saw you, she screamed and went to hug you, almost throwing her whole body onto yours, Jesse put the aluminium tray on the table and opened it up revealing some brownies that looked delicious.
“I thought you couldn’t make it today! I was thinking on breaking into your house and kidnapping you” Dina sat besides you, in the middle of the couch, Jesse by her side with an arm on her shoulders and Ellie on a chair.
“Well, my father went on the road again and my mother thinks that I’m with you, by the time she goes to work, she won’t even remember that I’m at home”
“Girls, can you two focus? I brought this amazing dessert with a special green ingredient, we have to try it” Jesse handed out the brownies, hoping that one of you would take a bite and let him know if it was delicious or not.
“He made them, that’s why he’s so anxious” Dina whispered in your ear, making you giggle a little bit. That made Ellie kind of jealous.
Not jealousy towards Dina, but jealousy that she could talk to you in public or even in this space that your four shared without problem, that she could easily hug you whenever she wanted and no one would say shit but if it was her doing that, not only the whole town would make the biggest gossip chain but your parents could put you on a plane to somewhere and she would never see you again. She did some thinking about long distance relationships but she barely can handle two days without grazing your skin.
That’s why she was the first to take a bite of the chocolate dessert and god bless Jesse’s hands, it was delicious. “Dude, you will bake my birthday cake”
“That would be an honor” They both cheered clashing brownies and giving another try to them. Dina and you try them, they were sweet but not too much, you loved the texture and you wanted to try more even when Dina warned you too slow down and that two were enough but If she wanted you to only eat two, why bring a full tray?
You had zero idea if they kicked in, you were just chilling with SZA in the background, your head in the armrest of the couch and your eyes closed. You could hear them chatting and sometimes you said something but you were much quieter than anything, the movement of your leg to the rhythm of the music is what gave away that you hadn’t fallen asleep yet. The couples voice seemed to vanished slowly and you heard the door open and close.
“Are you okay?” you blinked slowly before opening your eyes fully, Ellie is facing you from the opposite side making you feel dizzy.
“I shouldn’t have ate that many”
“You shouldn’t, but why don’t I lay you down on my bed, take out your shoes and you can rest there better?” she suggested kissing your forehead, for a second you panicked sitting up rapidly. Big mistake, your head was spinning now. “They are not here, they are outside”
“I can’t stay, I have to go home” you said getting up, Ellie grabbed your hand and shook her head, leading you to her bed.
“Trust me, it’s going to be worse if your mom sees you like this, I will wake you up in less than fifteen minutes and you can go” That sounded good for you as you let your head fall into her pillow as you felt how she was taking off your shoes and covering you with the blanket. “I’m going outside for a moment, I’ll be right back.”
“Yeah”
“I love you”
…You were tripping, there was no way she said it again. Hormones? Yeah, maybe, but yesterday was at the start of something sexual, today was so casual, as if it was normal between you two. Your head was heavy, you whole body felt heavier, you just wanted to sleep, so you let it go and let yourself have a nap.
Meanwhile outside Jesse and Dina were talking while smoking a fat blunt “I don’t know how you guys can be smoking after those brownies, Dina, your friend is K.O”
Dina pouted feeling a little guilty that she didn’t stopped you from almost eating half of them by yourself “It’s your fault, Jesse! Since when do you know how to bake?”
“I don’t know, maybe I am gifted” he smiled proudly passing the blunt to Ellie, she passed it to Dina who passed it back to Jesse “More for me, I guess”
They were sat in the little chairs that Joel put for Ellie so she could have an improvised porch, it was not facing the house so he couldn’t see what could be going on and that gave Ellie a much bigger feeling of privacy.
“By the way, Ellie, could you try be friends with her? I mean much better friends, it gets awkward sometimes and you two have thing in common!”
“Like what?” Jesse and Ellie asked in unison “Jinx! Jinx! Jinx!”
Dina rolled her eyes “Please, it would be so cool if we were 100% a group”
“We are a group, we get along, it’s not like a hate her or something”
“Dude, I’ve seen you keeping your distance from her on many occasions. You barely talk much, I don’t think you’ve ever been alone together except for today when she had to leave early and come here.” Jesse added. It was Ellie’s turned to roll her eyes and accept the blunt this time.
She was dying to tell them that you two were together but the sole thought of that leaving her mouth sent an image of you in the airport leaving her alone in this fucking town. “I’ll try”
“Thank you! I can’t wait to see to of my best friends, be best friends too”

arcade
in which…
Quinn takes fem! reader on a date to the arcade!
note: first imagine in the ‘alphabet date’ series! hope you enjoy <3
“All I’m saying is I plan on beating you at everything tonight.” Quinn said, his hand resting on your inner thigh.
You and Quinn hadn’t gone out in a while due to the playoffs, so you decided to go out to the arcade downtown. You figured it would be a good way to enjoy each other’s company, while also letting him blow off some steam with some friendly competition.
“Whatever you say.”
Soon enough, you had arrived at the arcade. Since it was pretty late in the day, the place was decently crowded. Not that either of you cared, but Quinn wasn’t really in the mood to socialize with anyone he didn’t have to.
You gave his hand a tight squeeze as you entered the building. Right away, your eyes were met with bright, colourful lights. You turned your head to look at Quinn and he was already looking at you.
“Ready to get your ass beat?”
“I should be asking you that.” You smiled.
~✩~
After three rounds of bowling, two rounds of laser tag, and a bunch of other random games, you ended up with a smile on your face, and Quinn ended up with a pout.
“What is that? My tenth win of the night?” You asked, waving a hand full of tickets in front of Quinn’s face.
He rolled his eyes playfully, “Whatever. Your refusal to play the basketball game with me says a lot.” You furrowed your eyebrows, “Let’s go, Hughes.”
His face contorted into a grin, grabbing your wrist gently as he tugged you towards the hoops.
Before you two could scan your arcade card, Quinn felt a tap on his shoulder. You both turned around to be met with a group of four girls, who couldn’t have been any older than sixteen.
“Excuse me, could we get a picture with the two of you? We’re big fans.” One of them asked.
Quinn smiled, “Yeah, sure.”
They smiled and giggled, handing their phone to a stranger who had kindly offered to take the photo. Quinn wrapped his arm around your waist and smiled, as you did the same. “Thank you so much. And Y/N, we love your outfit.”
“Thank you!” You replied, their compliment making you smile like a kid in a candy store. They walked away smiling, huddling around the phone to analyze the picture.
Quinn placed a quick kiss to your cheek as he kept his arm around you, “They were nice.”
You smiled and leaned into his hold, “Yeah.
Suddenly, he stepped away from you. He quickly scanned the game card on each machine and pushed a button that released all the basketballs in front of you both. He started shooting the balls towards the hoops before you could even process what was happening, still stunned from how fast he managed to switch up.
“You cheater!” You laughed, grabbing a basketball and shooting it towards the hoop in hopes of catching up.
Quinn chuckled, “I had to win somehow!”
His cheating managed to work, his final score being 25 and yours was 13. As he proudly got his tickets, you pulled out your phone to take a picture.
Quinn stood up holding his first batch of tickets from the night. He pulled you in close and pressed a sudden kiss to your lips. He was never big on PDA, so you pulled away in curiosity.
“What was that for?” You asked sweetly.
“I’m just really happy with you. Thanks for coming out with me tonight.” He smiled as he looked down at you.
You smiled at his words and tugged on his hoodie collar to bring him closer to you. You pressed another soft kiss to his lips, letting this one linger the slightest bit longer.
“I love you, Quinn Hughes.”
His cheeks became a light red, “I love you too. More than you can imagine, Y/N L/N.”

Uncle Buck • Part 5
Meddlingpunkitis
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Single Aunt!Reader
Word Count: 5.7k
Masterlist: One | Two | Three | Four | Five | Six
Tumblr media
Benji shot up from bed first thing in the morning, excited to see your first reaction after setting up his movie night.
He sat at the kitchen table waiting. You eventually walk in to grab a drink from the fridge and then walk back out as if it was a regular morning. Why did he only get a passing noogie?
Benji quickly looks over at his dad sitting next to him, "Aren't people in love supposed to be like, floating and all dopey looking??"
Theo finishes a sip of his coffee, "Not necessarily. If you're talking about your aunt, I've never seen her, as you describe, 'dopey in love.' Also, it is 6 in the morning. It's a miracle she's even awake right now. If you see her looking happy and 'floating' at 6am, I think we have a body snatching case to worry about instead."
Benji let's out an annoyed grunt as he scoops up the last of his eggs into his mouth and storms out of the kitchen.
Theo shrugs to himself, taking another sip of coffee while scrolling through emails on his laptop.
"That should be promising," he mutters to himself.
Benji stops in your doorway, "Are you and Bucky official yet?"
"Official...ly human? I'd say 90-99% for sure. Verdict is still out."
"Is he your boyfriend now?" He clarifies with a huff.
You shrug while sipping your drink, looking through your closet for today's outfit.
"You're the most frustrating person alive," he stomps off.
-----
Strolling through the aisles, you and Benji were out on a shopping trip after you picked him up from school to pick out decorations for the upcoming holiday season and your annual Christmas party.
Benji riding at the front of the cart, his feet on the basket underneath and hands holding onto the front while pointing which direction you should steer and which aisles to stop at next.
"Sorry dude, 6 bags of family size sour patch kids didn't make the budget cut." You stop him as his arms reach out to grab as many as they can hold.
"How about 4?"
"You can grab one," you hold up a finger, "of the smaller sharable sizes, final answer."
"Fiiiine," he tosses the smaller bag into the cart, "What about peanut slim shady's?"
"Alright, one bag of peanut slim shady's too," you agree.
You told him when he was around 4 years old that M&M's were called Slim Shady's because the rapper Eminem invented them. None of you have had the heart to correct him or teach him otherwise as he got older and you hope he never stops calling them Slim Shady's.
The look on his little face when you had joined in taking him trick or treating shortly after that...
Benji gleefully skips over to you in his little werewolf costume while shouting, "Looks! I got slim shady's!" Holding the tiny packet of candy up to you, waving it over his head.
"The real slim shady's?!" You asked in reply, trying to keep a straight face.
He nodded back enthusiastically.
"We need to grab some new string lights since we used some for the movie room. Maybe a new tree topper too.." you listed off.
"No! We can't replace tree monster!"
"I thought you hated tree monster?"
"It's a part of the tradition now!"
"Okay, okay. Tree monster rides again another year then. How about a new tree skirt? Does the Christmas Tradition Committee agree with that?"
"Mm…. Yeah, that should be fine."
"Your mom texted with a reminder to grab more garlands for the stairs banister," you read aloud while looking at your phone.
You texted Bucky earlier before you left on your shopping adventure with a quick hello to check in with him and see how his day was going, sharing that you were picking Benji up from school.
You notice a reply from him that says,
'Stuck with Samuel today 🙄'
"Look at this pillow! It looks like a dinosaur chicken nugget!" Benji lifts the pillow up to your face.
"It's the most beautiful chicken nugget pillow I've ever seen."
"We should get it for Monty! Do you think they have french fries too???"
"If that's what you would like to get him, sure. Add it to the cart, bud."
"Yessss!" He cheers as he hops back onto the cart while singing a made up song about chicken nuggets.
Turning the corner to leave the aisle you slow down so you don't push Benji and the cart into anyone. Benji looks around the corner for you, "Clear!"
"Thank you, co-pilot."
You make your way over to the Christmas decorations finally.
"How about this ornament?" Benji asks with a wide grin while holding up a large ornament that says "Just Married" on the back of a car window.
"You're hilarious. Hold on while I search for an 'in memoriam' option," you playfully glare down at him.
"She likes it," he smirks to himself as he skips down the aisle.
"Hey, get back over here. Put that back, you gremlin!"
He giggles and turns out of the aisle.
"Benji, you know better than to leave out of my eyesi-"
"NO WAYYY! AHHHHH!" You hear Benji shout from the next aisle.
You ditch the cart and take off after him assuming the worst from his shouting.
You stop short when you turn the corner and see what the shouting was about.
"LOOK AUNT Y/N!"
"Heyyy Aunt Y/n," Sam grins while holding onto Benji who jumped up in an attack hug.
You breathe a sigh of relief, "Oh hey, Sam! Glad to see you here and not some stranger dragging this one screaming out of the store," you greet back with a relieved smile, "Benj you can't run off and start shouting like that. Can you give Sam his personal space back now please? Thank yooou."
Benji hops down, "Are you shopping for decorations too??" He asks excitedly.
"We were just-"
Benji let's out an exceptionally loud gasp as he looks ahead down the main aisle, "Future. Uncle. Buckyyy!!!" He takes off running again across the store.
Bucky's eyes widen as he spins around. He catches the projectile 8-year-old leaping at him with his right arm, while the left holds his shopping basket with items he was carrying.
Benji releases his arms from his death grip hug and cups his hands on both sides of Bucky's face, squeezing his cheeks till his mouth puckers.
"I'm so happy to see you!!!"
"M ha-py t' see y'too," Bucky muffles back. "What do you have there?" He asks once his face is released, nodding at the ornament Benji is still clutching between his fingers.
"If I show you, Aunt Y/n is going to make me sleep outside in a tent for a week."
"Is that so?" He looks over at you with an eyebrow raised while lowering Benji back to the ground.
"For the record, I never said that," you hold your hands up in defense, "but I wouldn't rule that option out completely," you shrug while walking over quickly and snatching the ornament, crossing your arms so it's tucked under and unseen.
Another awkward encounter to add to the tally.
"We're shopping for decorations," Benji grins while Bucky places his basket down next to him. "We have a Christmas party coming up! You'll come, right??"
Bucky is bent down at eye level with Benji, "Well, I'm not sure -"
"It's the Saturday the week before Christmas!" Benji starts rattling off the date and time of the party, listing who is expected to be there.
Bucky looks over at you, his eyebrows raised.
You shrug again, "Don't look at me, it's his world, we're just living in it. But yes, you're absolutely invited if you don't already have any plans. You too, Sam." You smile at them.
"Would it be rude if I bring a plus three? My sister and nephews are visiting," Sam asks.
"Are they Benji's age? We'd love to have them join too."
Benji pumps his fists, cheering to himself. "Yesss!" He skips ahead pulling Sam along, directing him towards the next few aisles while firing away questions about his nephews.
Bucky stands up and leans against the nearest end cap with a smirk on his face.
"Hi," his eyes narrow in suspicion as he quickly looks over at your crossed arms, "Are you really not going to show me whatever it is you're hiding?"
"Absolutely fucking not, thank you so much for asking."
He laughs at your answer while you try to think what to do next. "Fancy meeting you here though. What did Sam do to convince you to go shopping?"
"Oh, you know, good ol' fashion lies and deception."
"Ah, yes. Of course," you step closer, "The promise of food and future solitude to lure you out? And then the classic 'gotta make a quick pitstop' announcement halfway?"
He snaps his fingers and points your way, "That's the one."
You grin and hold your arms out in an invitation for a hug, making sure the ornament is tucked into your hand and sleeve. His smile softens when you step closer again and he accepts your hug.
"Happens to the best of us," you answer while trying to play it cool. With your arms around him, you give a slight squeeze that he returns. Reaching out your right arm very slowly to try and tuck the ornament on the shelf behind him discreetly. Your plan was to hide the ornament behind the larger items on the shelf behind him. Nothing gets by the super soldier though. As he goes to turn his head to see what you're up to, you have to think fast on a distraction and quickly leave a peck on his cheek that was now in front of you.
His eyes widen slightly as his head swivels back over at you and then narrow in suspicion. You finally drop the ornament as quietly and quickly as you can. He goes to turn again, this time lifting you off the ground and turning both of you for him to better see. Grabbing his face with both your hands now you continue to plant quick kisses all over.
"Is it that bad?!" He laughs, beaming over at you.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm also just so happy to see you," you feign innocence while trying to pull away. He squeezes you closer while tickling at your sides. You break into laughter as you continue to try and break free.
Sam and Benji both poke their heads around the aisle and smirk at each other, sharing in a discreet high five, before ducking back into the aisle out of sight.
Ornament now forgotten, Bucky doesn't take his eyes off you as you both smile warmly at each other. He quickly lifts you again and starts walking you both towards the direction the other two went. Pausing quickly he leans in with a smirk and gives you a quick kiss before continuing to shuffle the both of you forward.

You send a warning text off to Bucky the morning of the Christmas party:
'hi... just a quick heads up for tonight (and I mean that warning literally...) Benji has covered the house in mistletoe. Latest scheme seems to be getting us under all of them at some point. How would you like to proceed?'
'10 - 4. Do we get to mess with him?'
'Absolutely. 🫡 See ya tonight, friend.'
'Later, pal 🙄'

Walking into the living room carrying a plate of snacks, a knock on the door grabs your attention and you hurry over to open it. Opening the door with one hand, while still balancing the snacks in the other. You spot the giant kissing ball hanging above the porch and roll your eyes.
Bucky and the Wilson's arrive at the same time as one of Theos's coworkers. You quickly greet them and usher them all through the door.
"Daaang, look at you. Your hair is so long," Sam comments walking in.
"Don't get used to this. I do not have the patience for this. Prudence insisted on straightening and styling it for me."
"Noted," he chuckles, "Did you add more colors, or were these always there and hidden in the curls?"
"I added more in. Benji used to tell his friends at school I was part My Little Pony."
"You had a pony..? I think I'm missing a reference," Bucky asks.
"It was a popular set of toys and an animated show called My Little Pony. It was colorful ponies with bright colored hair."
"Right...of course..."
This gets a small laugh from you as you place the snack tray on one of the many tables set up.
"YOU CAME!" Benji shouts running into the room.
Greetings and introductions made, Nora rushes over to say her own hellos and takes the Wilson's to meet the other kids that have arrived so far. Benji looks up at you expectantly. There's another sprig hanging above nearby, you just have to take 4 or 5 steps closer towards Bucky.
You stare back at Benji, not moving from your spot. "What are you lookin' at?"
He huffs and goes to catch up with Nora.
You move closer and kiss Bucky on the cheek, "This should be fun." Nodding your head up, "Quick recap, I've counted 6 so far. Best placed one is over by that bookcase," you tilt your head towards it, "He angled it juuust right so you don't notice it until you directly stand in that corner there."
"I don't know, you look very beautiful all dolled up. Might not be able to stick to this plan."
"You clean up pretty well yourself, but I'm not letting him win. Sorry." You pat his shoulder as Prudence and Monty steal Bucky away and you finish setting the last of the snacks and napkins out.
The front door opens as more people arrive.
Included in the latest arrivals is your neighbor Frank who walks in with his niece.
Benji walks by Bucky nodding his head "discreetly" towards the door and mouths, "Frank." He then mimes sticking his finger in his mouth and gagging while he continues to scramble away and stand near Nora once again.
-----
You're chatting with Sarah on the couch. Benji walks up and throws himself dramatically across your lap. "Hi, are you going to sit here all night?" He asks.
"Maybe, what's it to you?"
"Can we make gingerbread houses?"
"Prudence already set everything up on the kitchen counter, knock yourself out."
"But I need adult supervision."
"For what? To stop you from eating frosting? There's no tools involved."
"Moral support and guidance in knowing I'm doing something right. What if I put up 5 walls by accident?"
"Then I'd be very impressed from afar at your architectural brilliance."
He groans and rolls off your lap, walking away.
"The drama," you roll your eyes, "Do you think Aj and Cass would like to join him? We have plenty of kits."
"I'm sure they'd love that. I'll go ask them, thank you so much."
-----
You were now standing no more than three feet from the kitchen entry that had a bundle of mistletoe hanging above it. Sam and Nora standing to the left of you, the kitchen entry to your right. A table is behind you with a bowl of family friendly egg nog set up on it. Frank approaches you and the table. You greet eachother with friendly hellos and you introduce him to Sam. As they shake hands you take a few steps back to move out of the way of the table, offering Frank an empty cup.
In taking those steps back you were now dangerously close to the mistletoe-trapped entry with Frank still next to you. As you're asking how his niece is doing, you feel something hit the back of your head. Nora tries to discreetly cover her mouth to shield her reaction.
Your hand flies up to brush through your hair as you look at the ground. At your feet you see a gumdrop and a small gingerbread chunk laying there. You whip your head up and glare into the kitchen.
Benji's hands fly up in fake surrender, "It slipped! I told you I need adult supervision! These gingerbread pieces are crazy!"
The group of kids giggle as they pause their decorating to watch.
"Oh, I'll show you something crazy," you step into the kitchen and Benji takes off, ducking around you to escape. He slips in front of Theo and his co-workers playing it up like he was intently listening to their conversation, as if he had been there the whole time fake nodding along.
"Stop terrorizing your aunt," Theo says without even needing to assess the situation.
Benji clutches his chest, "I would never."
Bucky smirks into his drink as he watches from across the room. Quickly returning his attention to Monty and Prudence next to him.
Benji eventually sneaks his way back into the kitchen when all eyes and attention were finally off him.
-----
A couple times now you have taken turns in frustrating Benji to no end.
You're currently standing innocently under one of the many mistletoe, taking a sip from your glass in hand. You could see Benji in the corner of your peripheral trying to hide under a table. Bucky then walks by slowly. Benji's hands clench into anxious little fists in front of him, his small head poking up from the table ever so slightly. You and Bucky exchange a quick passing pleasantry to each other as he continues to walk by without stopping. Benji drops his head to the floor, groaning in frustration.
You smirk into your drink as you take another sip.
Nora and Theo have taken a different approach for the night and keep purposefully stepping under every mistletoe near Benji and giving each other exaggerated loud kisses. "Ugh, gross. Will you two stop it!" He crawls out from under the table and takes off across the room.
-----
"Hey, Y/n? Question for you..." You and Bucky both walk over to Sam who was standing by your decorated tree, "What am I looking at here?" He points to the top of the tree.
Bucky squints at the tree, his head tilting in confusion.
"That's tree monster..." You answer with a shrug.
"Tree what now?"
"We didn't have an official topper for our tree. Every year we'd just use a random toy up there. Benji came home from kindergarten one day with this masterpiece. I don't know what toy it used to be, but he sure did a number on it. And then I jokingly stuck wings to it thinking 'surely this will make us rethink this situation and get something else' but I was very mistaken. Theo added some googly eyes. Nora added the halo and reinforced it a bit...It's a complete abomination but we love him."
"It's deeply unsettling to look at, but I'm happy you have expressed your creative side as a family."
"I disagree," Bucky answers, "I think every store should have one, so that all families can enjoy having such a creative nightmare on their trees as well."
"Aww, thanks Bucky. I'm sure we could whip something up for you!" You joke.
"Ya know, I don't have a tree. So, darn...won't be needing one. Thanks for the offer."
"You don't have a tree??"
"A crypt has more decorations than this man's home. His place looks like someone moved out yesterday and left behind what they couldn't fit in the U-Haul."
"Thank you, Samuel."
-----
Your cousin Andrew arrives fashionably late with his wife Elyse and their 6 year old daughter Phoebe.
Phoebe squeals and runs up to Benji, throwing her adorable pudgey arms around him in a tight hug. His arms still at his sides while she squeezes tight, giggling with tiny glee. Benji always pretends to be annoyed but you all know he loves the attention. He pulls one of his arms free, patting her on the top of her head. "Hello, Phoebe. I'm glad you're here, I have a mission for you."
"Me??" She grins up at him while jumping up slightly.
"Ohh yeah, definitely you," he guides her across the room away from the adults.
"Andy!" You greet him with a hug when he walks up to you with Elyse, "Where's my Phoebs?" You look around his legs.
"She's -" he looks down and around the room, "She's in the building, she walked in before me. She saw Benji and took off with him."
"That can't be good," you laugh and introduce Andy and Elyse to Bucky, Sam, and Sarah.
During your conversation Bucky suddenly catches his balance and looks down as he feels a small body crash into him and wrap their arms around his legs.
Bright hazel eyes with a Cheshire smile beam up at him, the large grin showcasing her missing front bottom tooth.
"Hello there," Bucky laughs, greeting his new small friend.
"Hi, Uncle Bucky!" she giggles while Bucky's eyes widen.
"Oh no, it's contagious. Meddlingpunkitis has spread to the next youngest," you gasp dramatically while bending down to scoop up the giggling little blonde, "What will we dooooo?!" You cry out, "Not my little Phoebe!" You bend over again with her in your arms, hanging her upside down while tickling into her sides.
She giggles and squirms, trying to escape.
-----
Benji walks up with his gingerbread creation in hand on a platter. "Ta-daaaa," he sings, holding it up to you.
"Wow! Great job, Mr. I Need Supervision. Is that...?"
Benji rotates the plate so the front is now in better view. "It's a chapel!" He grins.
"That better be Mr. and Mrs. Claus..."
Closer inspection revealed one gingerbread figure with a black and yellow frosting lined arm and a bowtie, the other decorated with multi color frosting hair in a white outline "dress".
”You're exhausting, you know that? One part of me is really proud of you, because you did an amazing job on this. The other part really wants to smother you....with love of course," you give him a side eye, "Go put that back in the kitchen and never speak of this again."
Benji grins as he turns and retreats back towards the kitchen area, sneaking in a quick detour to show Sam his handywork. Sam immediately pulls his phone out to snap a quick picture of Benji holding it up to the camera with a grin.
-----
"I have an idea but it might be a tiny bit of a gamble and slightly outrageous.." you whisper to Bucky as you finally reunite in the same area.
Nora had just finished forcing everybody to gather around to take a series of group photos.
You've successfully dodged all the mistletoe encounters so far.
"How outrageous are we talking? I'm not kissing Sam."
"Oh come on, I wasn't asking that - unless-" you hold up your fingers to your chin in thought.
"No." He points a quick finger towards you.
"Okay, okaay. Fine."
You lean in closer and fill him in on your next plan.
"...you want me to kiss your neighbor?"
"Obviously the objective here is to avoid you actually needing to kiss her, but it's a sacrifice for the greater good here if it's unavoidable, Buck. Or we could go back to your Sam plan," you smile as sweetly as you can over at him.
"Y'know, at first I didn't recognize it, but now I definitely see that same evil little twinkle that's usually in Benji's eyes, and let me tell you," he leans closer, bending slightly to reach your height and points at your eyes, "It's absolutely genetic. You should see yourself right now."
"You think my eyes twinkle?" you grin up at him.
"Y/n," he sighs but starts to laugh.
"Pleeeease," you unleash the pout.
"That," he points at you again, "is even worse. You're serious?"
"Aren't you like, trained in stealth? You can do it!"
"Thank you so much for the pep talk, but I still don't understand why you want me to kiss your neighbor."
"You are so hung up on that tiny detail! I can assure you, it will not get that far. I had baked goods and candy launched at my head when I got too close earlier, I can't even begin to imagine what stunt will happen if you get close enough. He's probably gonna lower himself down from the ceiling somehow like something out of Mission Impossible. Oooor, if you don't wanna kiss Sam, I'll just gooo--" you start to step away but a hand shoots out and stops you, pulling you back to your original spot.
He glares over at you, "Not funny."
"A little funny?" You squint while pinching your fingers.
"Unbelievable," he places a quick kiss to your temple and releases your arm as he storms off towards the next target area.
"Go get 'em, tiger!" You call after him, just loud enough so only he's the one to hear you.
"It's white wolf," he mutters back.
"For real?"
Bucky starts to approach your neighbor who is standing under one of the many mistlebombs hanging around, this one strung up above a popular gathering area of the living room.
Before he can get within 3ft of dear sweet unsuspecting Sylvia, yelling erupts in the room with a chorus of AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!s. Suddenly 3 small bodies take down the super soldier. Benji leading the charge grabs onto an arm and attempts to climb up Bucky's back while Sarah's boys both tackle a leg of their own, making sure to get him at the back of the knees in their takedown.
Your eyes widen as you watch the group of them land in a heap on the floor.
You hold your breath waiting to see if you should run over and check on them but let out a relieved sigh when Bucky gives a dramatic roar and starts play fighting back with them while sitting up. The boys giggling and continuing their shouting and attack.
"Tiny savages," you shake your head.
"Should we help?" Nora asks walking up to you.
"Nah, I'm sure they're fine," as soon as the words are out of your mouth, sweet little Phoebe, not wanting to be left out of the excitement, joins in and hops onto Bucky's back, throwing her little arms around his neck.
"Oh shit. Hey, White Wolf? Ya good?" You hold your thumb up and then down.
You see a vibranium thumb pop up.
"See? He's got this."
-----
It was starting to get late. Most of the guests have already left. You're finishing up clearing off some of the tables with help from Bucky.
"You're our guest, you're not supposed to be doing clean up labor."
He shrugs, "I don't mind."
"Where'd you get the bracelet?" You laugh noticing the multi color beads circling his wrist.
"Phoebe gave it to me on their way out," he twists his wrist so the rest of it is in view.
"So stylish," you compliment while stacking some plates together.
Sam walks up with a tired AJ carried on his back.
"Y/n, as always, it's been a pleasure. Thank you so much for inviting all of us."
Sarah walks up carrying Cass who is already knocked out.
"Of course!" You pull him in for a hug, "Thank you so much for coming. It was an absolute pleasure having you all with us. Bye AJ, it was nice meeting you," you reach up to give him a fist bump that he sleepily returns.
"I hope you all can visit again soon," you pull Sarah in for a hug next and run your hand along sleeping Cass' back, "Merry Christmas!"
"Do you guys need any help?" Bucky asks while passing Sarah her bag and another bag filled with cookies the boys decorated.
"Nope, we're good. Theo is grabbing a taxi for us. You coming with?"
Bucky looks at his watch and nods with a shrug, "Probably a good idea."
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night," Sam waves while walking off towards the door.
"Wait!" Benji rushes down the stairs with two red envelopes.
"For you," he hands one over to Sam, "Merry Christmas!" He jumps up for a high five.
"Is this my wedding invitation finally?" Sam holds the envelope up to the light.
You give him a push towards the door, "It's a Christmas card. Get out of here."
"Sure, sure. See you at the wedding!" He smirks while stepping outside.
You shake your head and start to follow them out.
"Cab should be here in 5," Theo announces by the doorway before going back inside.
You step out onto the porch and give the Wilson's a final wave while they wait by the curb, checking out the neighbors light displays and decorations.
The large kissing ball with multiple mistletoe jammed in there hangs above you, dangling from the short roof over the porch.
Benji hops out onto the porch with Bucky following behind, pulling his leather jacket on.
"For you!" Benji hands the last envelope to Bucky, "Merrryyy Christmas!" He wraps his arms around Bucky's waist.
"Merry Christmas, bud. Thanks for the card."
Benji stares at him expectantly and then looks over at you.
"Am..I.. supposed to open it now??" Bucky asks.
Benji shrugs, still staring you both down, "You don't have to."
You scratch at your neck and try to discreetly point up, signaling to Bucky why the stare down was happening. His eyes follow up and you see him realize what's going on.
"Ok, I'll save it for later then. See ya," Bucky holds his hand up for a high five to Benji, who gladly winds back his arm to give the strongest high five he could.
Benji quickly realizes standing right there isn't going to get him the results he wants and he starts walking slowly back inside, "See ya, F.U.B.!"
Bucky's eyebrows scrunch while looking at you.
"I'm assuming that's Future Uncle Bucky," you sigh and answer for him.
"Ah," he grins, "Thanks again for having us, pal."
"You're very welcome, friend. One more fake out for the road?"
Bucky leans in close, you both tilt your heads, he slowly lifts his hand.. and pretends to pluck an eyelash off your cheek.
"Got it," Bucky jokes while pulling back, pretending to blow the lash off his finger.
"OH MY GOD! WILL YOU JUST KISS ALREADY?!" Benji throws his arms up in exasperation, closing the front door with a loud thump behind him.
You both try to hold in your laughter and keep a straight face, but Sam's laughter echos loud and clear. You peak over and see Benji ducking down from the window.
Keeping your platonic facade going, you both give an exaggerated firm hand shake. You can feel the intense laser focus stare coming at you from the windows again.
"Goodnight, ol' chum. Let me know when you get home safe, please."
He gives you a salute and you go to turn the doorknob but nothing happens. You shake it and push against the door.
"Locked you out?"
"Yuuup," you pull your phone out and pull up your bank app. Nodding to yourself, "Yup, okay. Bucky, break the window."
"..What?"
"Break the window," you point to the pane of glass, more specifically the one you know the watch guard was staring out of behind the sheer curtain.
"What??"
"I'm going to pay for it, come on."
He stares at you like you've grown an extra head.
"Fine, we can use the spare key if you wanna be all boring about it. I'm going to need a boost," you step closer to the edge of the porch, looking up at the roof covering the porch.
"A boost?"
"What? You think we keep our spare key under the mat like a bunch of fools?"
"Or, hear me out..." He reasons, "You call Nora and you can use the door without the need to scale your roof or smash in a window."
"Booo," you pout up at him.
"There is another option..." he steps closer.
"I'm listening..."
He gives a subtle nod to the door where no doubt you can still feel a pair of eyes burning into your head through the window.
"Aw man, but then the tiny tyrant will win."
"Does it still count if you kiss this guy?" He reaches into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulls out a Ziploc bag, holding up the "Bucky" gingerbread man Benji decorated.
"Oh my god," you laugh and swat the cookie away from your face.
"Fine, I'll put him back with the missus," he lifts up another Ziploc bag high enough so you can see the colorful "hair" frosting peak out of the pocket signalling he also has your gingerbread person in there and tucks both back into the pocket.
"Unbelievable, do you have the building in there too?"
He grabs your right hand and pulls you in closer, wrapping your arm around his neck. "Nah, left that for the next confectionery nuptials."
You shake your head with a laugh and bring your other arm around his neck.
"Thanks for dealing with us, once again," you smile up at him.
"Phoebe was a nice addition this time. Do you get to see her often?"
"Just the occasional family gathering and birthdays. Definitely not often enough. I'm sure Andy would be more than willing to pawn her off for a night or two if asked. She's just as mischievous as Benji though. Her mischief is more animal based. Her teachers call her a Disney princess because she tries to befriend every animal she sees. She also tries luring many squirrels and wild life into their house."
"Yikes," he laughs.
"Ride's here, Buck!" Sam announces while helping Sarah and the boys get in.
He gently grabs your waist with his vibranium hand and brings his right hand up your neck, moving to cradle the back of your head. You see a bright flash of light come from the window and before you can investigate further Bucky quickly dips you backwards while giving you a sweet and tender kiss. Your grip tightens around him, giggling in surprise.
"I want a copy of that," Bucky points towards the door when he lifts you back up.
"Copy of what?" You ask, a little dazed still.
Benji cracks open the door with Nora's camera in hand, "We have a ring doorbell too. I'll send the video link with it."
"Excellent, thanks. Goodnight, Doll." He smirks and gives you another quick kiss before turning to meet up with the waiting taxi.

The next day you receive a text:
'This is getting framed.'
Attached was a picture of Benji's Christmas card stuck to Bucky's refrigerator by a magnet.

Could I make a request please?
Either a Joel or Pedro x Reader, where he is head over heels for the reader who is really bubbly and sweet and happy and a mom friend for everyone but who is oblivious to any romantic overtures whatsoever? And where Joel or Pedro catch them crying for the first time ever and they try and hide it and go back to cooking for the friend group or whatever and Joel/Pedro get the reader to open up about what made them cry and essentially it's that someone turned them down on a dating app and it's just further confirmation that the reader will never find love or actually be a mom? Plus-sized reader preferred but definitely not required? And your choice on if it's smutty or not.
I've been reading your plus sized reader x Pedro series and loving it!!! So much emotion and genuine positivity that I couldn't help but ask for more when I felt a bit down about this today.
All my best!
Dear @jenniferpendragon,
Hi!!! I've never had a request before, I didn't know what to do with myself. Thank you. And thank you so much for your kind words about my musician fic! I'm so glad people like it.
I'm sorry you were feeling down today. If by "this" you mean you experienced the dating app situation, I'm so sorry. Love is out there for you. I know how hard it is to wait, feeling like nobody wants you, but I know it'll happen. Hang in there. ❤️
I hope you like this fic! I liked your prompt and my mind ran wild. It's way longer than I thought it would be and also I'm unsure about it, but hopefully it makes you feel a little better.

"Look what I bought today," you chimed in a sing-song voice while waving the DVD in front of Joel.
"No way. Zombie Slayer 6?!" Joel and Tommy yelled in unison.
"Yep! You know it!" you beamed. "I say tonight we pop this bad boy in. Tomorrow's Halloween, it's perfect."
"YES!" chimed in Sarah and Ellie, Joel's daughter and adopted daughter, roughly the same ages in their early teens.
"Absolutely not! You two are too young for this gore, you'll be up for weeks." Maria pointedly gave an eyebrow to her husband Tommy. "You guys watch the movie, I'll take the kids and we have a girl's night. We can watch Practical Magic and make cookies. Then tomorrow we'll all go trick-or-treating." The girls were pleased with this compromise and began running up to their bedrooms, chatting frantically about their costumes and which houses were allegedly going to have full-size candy bars this year.
"Really? Zombie movies? They're just kids. They aren't old enough to deal with that kind of thing," Maria said to you, judging your lack of parenting skills.
"Sorry…" you said sheepishly.
Truthfully, Halloween was your favorite holiday and always has been. You loved the spooky aspect of it, but you also loved that you could be anyone you wanted, if only for a night. For once you weren't just "the fat girl" or whatever other mean things people thought about you. You could be Wonder-Woman, or Ariel, the Grim Reaper, or a ghost. You could even eat all the sugary snacks you wanted and nobody questioned it, because Halloween was a time to indulge in candy.
If there's one thing you're sad you didn't get to enjoy on Halloween, it was the thought of being with someone you love. You'd always wanted someone to dress up in a couples costume together. Or go to a pumpkin patch for a cute little date and pick pumpkins together. You'd even dreamed about someday having a little pumpkin of your own. Picking out a little baby costume, taking them out door to door while they tried to say "trick or treat" but didn't quite know how to say such big words yet. The thought of them getting spooked by a scary decoration and running back to their daddy's arms. Your handsome brave husband, holding them close and shushing them, rubbing their little back to make it all okay. Finally the three of you would go home, tuck the little one in, sort through the candy and maybe take some for the parent tax. Then you'd flop down on the bed together before sharing a different kind of treat.
Knocking you out of your daydream, the girls ran down the stairs, backpacks on their backs, still loudly chatting about Halloween. You sighed, Maria taking the kids out towards her house.
Tommy clapped his hands together excitedly and grabbed his phone and keys. "I'm picking us up a pizza. You two better not start this damn movie without me," he warned, gesturing with his fingers from his eyes to yours and then across to his brother's before ducking out the door. You laughed and headed towards the kitchen, starting to make a quick batch of cookies before Tommy returned. Joel stood awkwardly trying to help, but mainly was just sneaking bites of dough. "Knock it off Joel! There won't be any cookies left with you around." You elbowed him while he popped another glob into his mouth with a laugh.
You rolled your eyes while he argued with you. "Whatever. My brother doesn't need these cookies anyway. He doesn't deserve your bakin', darlin'." He ate more dough.
You couldn't help but feel your chest flutter with butterflies at his nickname, but you tried to ignore them. "Oh yeah, and what about me?" You pouted up at him. "Don't I deserve any cookies?"
He put his finger on his lip as if deep in thought. "Hmmm… I dunno darlin'. Not sure if I could handle you if you get much sweeter." He winked.
"But I guess you deserve some too.." he plopped a wad of dough into your mouth, running his finger on your lip as he pulled his hand away.
You smiled, cheeks feeling warm, and chewing the soft, sugary dough.
"Oh, Joel. You're too much.." you avoided his eyes, looking down at the mixer and pretending to be busy with the cookies.
Why can't I get a man like Joel? You thought to yourself.
Two years ago, you had moved into your new house and met your neighbors, Tommy and Maria, Maria still very pregnant at the time. The three of you became fast friends and it wasn't long before you met Tommy's brother Joel. You were instantly enamored with him. His curly brown hair, mixed with silvery gray streaks, and those deep, gorgeous chocolate brown eyes. Although he could be a grump at times, it was mainly with his brother or his job, and he never showed it towards you. To you he was as sweet as the cookies you were eating.
You instantly developed a little crush on him and it seemed like he was over at his brother's house, or yours, more often than not. The two of you spent time together alone as well, watching movies, talking, doing whatever. Things felt so simple with him, and you knew he would always be there if you needed help with anything. With him, you never felt fat. You never felt ugly. You didn't feel self-conscious. You were just you. He was just him.
As your friendship progressed, your crush developed quickly into love. But you knew deep down there was no way he could ever feel the same. He was too handsome and charming to ever go for a woman like you, so you pushed down your feelings as best as you could, and even tried some dating apps to try and find someone else to fill the empty space in your heart.
What you didn't know was that Joel was absolutely head-over-heels, smitten with you, from the moment he laid eyes on you at his brother's backyard barbecue. Sure he loved his brother, but nobody wants to spend that much time at their sibling's house. He came over constantly, hoping to see you, until eventually you became close enough that he didn't have to make a scene at his brother's house to get your attention. He could just go to yours.
Tommy constantly teased him about it, and Maria couldn't help but notice the way you looked at Joel either. Even the kids could tell. The girls loved you like a mother, though you'd never see it. It seemed that it was obvious to everyone but you and him. Joel would flirt, try to gently touch you, be sweet, but you never picked up on it. Although you never pushed away his attempts, you never seemed to reciprocate either, so Joel just figured you didn't like him that way. But he couldn't help flirting, touching, staring at you. And if you didn't protest, he didn't plan to stop. He couldn't if he tried.
While the two of you talked, the cookies, what was left of them, baked in the oven. Finally Tommy came in, two large pizzas in hand. "Now I better not see that movie playing! I warned you two."
He noticed the black television screen and wandered to the kitchen. "Good. You waited for me- oh man! You made cookies? My favorite," he said with grabby hands towards the first pan, still cooling on the stove.
"Now, don't spoil your dinner. You just brought pizza home, let's eat." You shot a knowing look with Joel after the two of you were practically full already with cookie dough.
"Fine. Whatever, mom." Tommy took a plate from you, sliding a piece of pizza onto his plate and heading towards the couch.
_____
An hour into the movie, you were all full with pizza and dessert, Tommy in the sofa chair on the side, you and Joel settled into the love seat. You leaned towards his right side, his right arm over the back of your seat. A blanket covered the two of you, and his left hand was crossed over his lap on top of the blanket, hoping you would hold it if you got scared. Whenever a jump scare did happen, you didn't grab for him, but at the slightest flinch, he would palm your knee, rubbing his thumb over you to calm you down. Such a nice guy. I'm so lucky to have him as my friend.
Once when Joel did this, Tommy caught the sight out of the corner of his vision. He rolled his eyes and gave a gagging face. Joel gave him a quick angry brother stare that made Tommy turn back toward the film.
At some point, you felt your pocket buzz. Peering under the blanket at your screen, you saw the little heart notification, letting you know it was one of the dating apps you downloaded. Heart beating faster, you excused yourself saying you wanted to get a drink. Upon entering the kitchen, you quickly opened the notification with shaky hands. You had sent out at least a half dozen matches to people, all turned down the second they saw your profile. The most recent had sent a message as well. "Seriously? Ur gross. Good luck finding anyone to date you lmao." Tears welled up in your eyes as you looked down at your body and pinched the fat of your stomach. You had four apps and had sent countless requests, matches, and swipes. Even guys who were big themselves had turned you down. You looked in the kitchen at the pile of cookies, the mostly empty pizza boxes, the bowl of Halloween candy. If the boys weren't here, you'd toss it all in the trash. You suddenly felt self-conscious. Your clothes were tight, your body was heavy and flabby, and you almost felt nauseous. The first sting of tears welled at your eyes, and you dashed off to your bedroom, hoping to quell these emotions before anyone would notice. You weren't ready to go back to the living room.
After a couple minutes, Joel had paused the TV to wait for your return. "She probably had to pee or something. Said she was gettin' a drink." Tommy nodded and the two of them talked. After about ten minutes had passed, Joel began to worry. Even Tommy began to wonder and finally said "where'd your girlfriend end up? It's been a while."
Joel shook his head at Tommy's name for you, but got up off the couch. "I'll go see what's up." He walked into the kitchen and didn't see you, so he kept walking through the house before finally starting upstairs. "Darlin'? You okay?" He still didn't see you, but upon approaching your bedroom door, he heard a soft sniffle.
He gently tapped on the door with his index finger's knuckle. "Sweetheart?" Your sniffling stopped and you quickly wiped your eyes, trying to hide your tears as he slowly opened the door.
"Hey, sorry, I didn't mean to make you guys wait, I was just changing into some comfier clothes." He noticed you had switched from your favorite dress to some sweats and a baggy hoodie. You still looked beautiful to him, though he was a bit confused at the change. "I'll be right down, why don't you go start the movie again." He crossed the room to sit next to you on the bed. "I'm not going to start the movie. What's wrong, darlin'?"
You pouted, trying to choke back more tears, but his gentle brown eyes made it hard to keep your emotions inside. Joel cupped your cheek, running his thumb gently under your eyes and catching a tear that made it past your walls. You'd never cried in front of Joel before. You made it a goal of yours to try and hide any sad emotions from people, especially him.
"I don't want to ruin the night, Joel. It's nothing. Let's just go back downstairs. I'll be right behind you."
Joel stood up and nodded his head, walking out the door and closing it gently behind him.
You didn't think he'd actually leave. But it shouldn't surprise you. Who wouldn't leave you?
An aggressive sob ripped through your chest.
_____
Joel walked downstairs, joining his brother.
"You find her?" Tommy asked.
"Yeah I did. Look, she's not feeling too good right now. I think it's best we call it a night."
"Ah, man. She sick or somethin'?" Tommy asked.
"Yeah somethin' like that. I'll stay and take care of her. Can you maybe keep the kids tonight?" Joel answered, ushering Tommy out the door. Tommy gave him a look, but nodded and walked out the door towards his own house.
Joel closed the door behind him and walked back upstairs, stopping to grab a glass of water for you on the way. He knocked gently again before entering your bedroom, and you turned around, surprised to see him. "Joel? I thought you were watching the movie?"
"Nah, darlin' I could never leave you when you're upset. I sent Tommy home and he's gonna watch the girls tonight. Here, I brought you some water." He sat the water on the nightstand. "Now, you wanna tell me why you're cryin'?" He sat next to you, rubbing your back gently.
You took a sip of the water, set it back down on the nightstand, and sighed, looking down at your hands in your lap which held your cell phone.
"Well, I uh…" you cleared your throat gently. "I recently joined some dating apps..."
Joel's heart took a slight stab, but he pushed it down. You're the one needing comfort, not him.
"I guess, I dunno… I know it's kinda silly, but I've been feeling kinda lonely and y'know... I'm getting older. I'm running out of time to have babies. But, I really just want someone to call mine. Someone to laugh with and go on dates with and…" you tapered off, not wanting to admit your desire for cuddles, kisses, and love-making.
"Oh, sweet girl," he held you in his arms. "That's nothing to feel shy or silly about. It's natural to want those things. But why are you cryin'? Did somethin' happen?"
"I just… I haven't gotten any matches. Everyone I've sent anything to has denied me, and-" you sniffled and Joel pulled you tighter. "Shh, shh, sweet girl, it's okay. Those people on those apps, they don't know what they're missin' out on. They don't see how beautiful and sweet y'are. They wouldn't know how to treat you right anyway. If they can't see how wonderful you are, they don't deserve to be with ya anyway."
"Thank you Joel…" you muttered. "But… it's not just that. I got a message when we were watching the movie and I went into the kitchen to read it, and-" you handed him your phone with a sniffle. Joel pulled away from you, holding the phone back a bit to read it with his bad vision. As he read it, his jaw and fists clenched. It may have been the first time Joel saw you cry, but it was also the first time Joel got angry when it was just the two of you.
"If I knew where this asshole little boy lived, I'd go over there right now and kick his ass for saying something like that to you" he seethed. "I can't believe anyone would say something like that to you."
You picked at a hangnail on your finger, still staring at your lap. Finally Joel took a breath and looked at you again. "Darlin'. You don't - you don't believe that guy do you?" He asked while rubbing your back again.
"Maybe…" you felt tears run down your cheeks. "I mean, he's right, isn't he? I'm not attractive or skinny. Nobody wants me, not even any of these guys on this app. Even the guys who aren't skinny don't want me either."
"Sweetheart. That's just not true. Look at me-" he lifted your chin with his left hand, right arm still holding you close. You hesitantly met his gaze, your wet eyes looking into his gentle browns. "Those men, if you even wanna call them that, they wouldn't know what beautiful was if it slapped them across the face. You're the most beautiful, sweet, funny woman I've ever met. Any man would be lucky to have you." He took a deep breath before admitting, "I'd be lucky to have you."
"What-?" You interrupted him.
"Darlin'... I never want to push your boundaries, but you don't see how often I flirt with you, tease you, and touch you? You don't see how smitten I am with you?" You frowned, brows furrowing as you picked through your memory. "I thought you were just a nice guy. Just a friend. I didn't… I didn't think you could ever like me as more than a friend, so I just ignored the butterflies I got around you."
You searched his eyes, waiting for a joke, or your alarm to go off and wake you up from this dream.
"Sweetheart, I've been in love with you since just about the time I saw you walk across my brother's lawn towards me. I just figured y'wasn't interested in me that way."
"Joel," you laughed. "I've felt the same way."
He smiled, once again tilting your chin, yet this time pressing his lips to yours. The kiss was gentle, but held so much love and meaning, that the two of you couldn't help but smile in the middle of it. He pulled away, "and by the way, y'aren't old either. If anyone's old here, it's me. But if you want babies, I'll give you all the babies you want. But you already got two girls who love you. Sometimes I think they even love y'more than me," he laughed.
You smiled at him and nodded "I do love those girls like they're my own. But I would still like a little baby someday too."
He kissed you again, more passionately this time, licking your lip until you opened up and let your tongues dance together. He pulled away, running his nose across your jaw before stopping at your ear. "Only one way to give you that, darlin'." He gently bit your earlobe before kissing down your neck.
You sighed. "Joel… please."
"Please, what darlin'?" He purred, kissing your clavicle through your baggy shirt.
"Please, make love to me" you answered breathlessly, tipping your head back so he could better access your neck.
"Take these baggy clothes off then, baby. Lemme see you," he gave you one last kiss on the lips before the two of you began undressing, stopping every few seconds to share grabby kisses. Once undressed, he pulled you into him and kissed you deeply, your hands on his chest. With a swift move, he tumbled the two of you sideways so that you were now on the bed, him on his back and you straddling his hips. You leaned down, kissing his lips, while the slight movement against his waist caused you both to moan at the feeling. "Baby I've wanted this for so long. Let me take care of you," Joel whispered, thumb stroking your cheek. He flipped the two of you over, slithering down towards your waist, where you spread your legs for him. He groaned, looking at how evident it was you wanted him, pumping his already hard cock a few times. Flattening himself on his stomach, he gently touched your thighs and began to kiss your legs. "Y'sure you still want this, baby?"
"Yes Joel, please" you answered, tense with anticipation. Without a beat, he tipped his head down, licking a stripe up your slit. You let out a sigh, hips bucking toward his face. "I know baby, I know." His low timbre vibrated through your core. He gave a quick peck to your clit before swirling his tongue around it and heading downwards, licking between your folds while his nose continued to put pressure on your clit.
His fingers slid through, touching your entrance in a questioning way. "Yes, Joel, please" you cried, wiggling closer, your hands tugging at his hair.
With your pleas, he inserted his finger, curling upwards before adding a second and finally hitting that spot inside you that made your breathing catch in your chest. He stroked, while still licking gently, occasionally sucking on your clit. Before long you were gripping the sheets with one hand, his hair in your other, as you finally tumbled into your orgasm. "So beautiful, baby" he coaxed, licking you through the waves of pleasure.
"Think you're ready for me?" He looked up at you over your plush tummy. "Yes, Joel, please I'm so ready."
He stalked over your body, kissing his way up. He kissed your vulva, "I love this," he purred. He kissed your stomach, running his hands across your sides. "I love this," he licked. "I love these," he massaged your breasts, kissing each nipple. "I love you" he finally looked you in the eyes, kissing you on the lips deeply.
"I love you too." You kissed him back, running your hands through his messy hair, down his broad shoulders and back. His hand snaked around, grabbing his cock and giving a few strokes through your folds until he was wet enough. Finally he pushed against your entrance, slowly entering you, giving you enough time to adjust to his size. Your fingers clawed at his back as he finally pushed all the way in, the two of you sighing in relief.
Your body adjusted, and with a kiss to his nose, you prompted him to move. "Okay Joel, I'm ready."
Slowly, he began to thrust, pulling slowly out and gently pushing back in, eventually picking up to a pleasurable pace. He kissed you like his lips couldn't be away for longer than a few seconds, and it didn't take much before you were barreling towards your second release of the evening. "I'm almost there, Joel" you kissed, grabbing him around his back. "Me too, baby. Come for me." His thrusts were getting sloppy, but you could tell he was holding himself back for you. His fingers drifted over your clit, giving a few circular strokes and causing you to shudder around him, your eyes slamming shut with a moan. He followed right behind you, a couple messy strokes before pumping into you, filling you up and working you both through it. As the two of you came down from your high, he kissed you passionately, holding you like you were the only thing in the world.
The two of you lay on your sides, you snuggled into his chest, his chin resting on your head before eventually he became soft and slipped out of you. You both sighed at the loss, but held each other until you rolled out to use the restroom and clean up. When you returned from the bathroom, you asked if he wanted to stay and he said yes.
You lent him an extra toothbrush and the two of you stood side by side, brushing your teeth and stealing glances at each other in the mirror with matching lovesick smiles. Things felt domestic and comfortable as the two of you walked back to bed, sharing soft kisses snuggled to each other. Having completely forgotten why you were upset earlier, you fell asleep curled into his arms, full of love and hope for the future with a man you loved.
_____
The next morning, you woke up to the smell of coffee brewing and breakfast cooking. You strolled down the stairs and saw Joel, wearing just his boxers and tee shirt, grabbing a slice of toast from the toaster.
At the sound of your steps, he turned and smiled softly. "Morning, baby."
"Good morning, handsome," you replied, pressing a kiss to his lips.
"I could get used to that," Joel replied, squeezing your ass and pulling his face away to look in your eyes.
"Joel! You devil," you giggled, gently smacking his arm. "You ain't seen nothing yet, baby" he nibbled your jaw.
After the two of you ate breakfast, you shared a shower, and he threw on a pair of extra clothes he keeps in his car. It would be hard to keep his visit a secret from his brother with his car still in your driveway, but as far as Tommy was concerned, you were sick and Joel was taking care of you.
The two of you made the walk over to Tommy's house to get the girls and participate in Halloween activities for the day. Walking in the door, Tommy pulled you into a hug. "Hey, we were worried about you! Are you feeling better? Were you sick?"
You looked up at Joel, sharing a knowing look. "I was just a little upset about something, but I'm feeling much better now," you smiled.
Tommy gasped. "FINALLY!!!!" He threw his hands in the air while Maria grinned.
"Cough it up Tommy!" Sarah held out her hand to her uncle. "You know I had October." He handed her a five dollar bill.
"You bet money on us?" Joel asked in disbelief, rubbing your back.
"Obviously. You guys have both been pining since you first met," Ellie answered, rolling her eyes. "It was too entertaining for us to interfere though," Sarah added with a smirk.
You stared down at your shoes, feeling embarrassed, but Joel grabbed your hand. You smiled up at him and it felt like everything was aligned. "Yep, we finally took the step. And now I get to do this whenever I want," Joel pulled you into his arms for a deep kiss.
"UGH. GROSS, DAD." Ellie and Sarah groaned, walking out of the room.
You both laughed, sharing a smile and heading towards the group to get ready for Halloween with your family.

Seven Minutes in Heaven
Warnings: HEAVY on the angst. Like, sucker punches you in the face with it.
Pairing: Simon “Ghost” Riley x reader.
Light is a brilliant thing.
It shines and sparkles, illuminating all.
It radiates out of her eyes, highlighting her irises as she laughs.
Ghost can see her clearly, can feel how she takes his breath away, and hear her voice through all the other noise.
Hes sitting on the brick wall, arms crossed, feet stuck out in front of him. People pass by, but the ignore the man in the mask.
She doesn’t.
“It’s a party, Simon! You have to let loose a little bit.” She does a little shimmy with her shoulders as she grabs his gloved hands.
Her eyes shine brighter than the stars above.
“Come dance with me Simon.”
He shakes his head at first, hesitant to be observed.
She leans close. “Don’t leave me, Simon, don’t go someplace I can’t follow.” She kisses him on the cheek and tugs on his hand again.
So he sighs and begrudgingly follows her to a quieter spot on the dance floor.
Light is a harsh thing. It cuts between objects, lays everything bare, and shines upon all. How it hides in corners and jumps out to rain down on people, how it waits in windows and glass and clouds.
Simon leans down over her, lifting his mask so that he can kiss the top of her head. She’s nestled in bed, wrapped in a think blanket. A small sigh escapes her as his lips connect with her hair and Simon stills. The light has not yet crept its way into the dark bedroom, and he’s needed elsewhere. He hates to leave, hates to leave her and her love, but he has a job to do.
And every job that gets done means that she gets to live in a safer world.
So he leaves one last kiss with her, praying that she feels it, and leaves.
Taped to the bedroom door is a note.
It’s scribbled out in her handwriting, light and airy, like her.
“Don’t go where I can’t follow.”
He pries the note off of the door and stuffs it in a pocket to look back at later. A smile creeps up on his face at the note. He never though he would ever be someone smiling at the thought of getting a love note.
One last glance back at her sleeping figure and he has to steel his resolve.
He has to leave.
It’s for her safety.
Light is a stupendous thing, how it bends and conforms to the confines of its surroundings, but is always its own entity.
Simon watches as she laughs with the children, wishing it was his family that he was looking at. She hands over some candy and compliments their costumes. Simon has to lean over and ask as they leave what they were supposed to be. She just laughs again and tells him: “I have no idea. But that’s the fun! Guessing!”
Simon smiles as he pulls away and settles a hand on her waist. Halloween has never been a big day to him, but she loves it, so now he does too.
She insisted that he wear a different mask than normal - one that covers his whole face. It’s the helmet piece of some ridiculous armour from a movie that Simon could never get into.
But she loves it, so he watches it time and time again just to make her happy.
She is dressed in the complementary costume, and it shines under the porch lights, sending light radiating out every which way.
As more kids clomp up the driveway, she laughs again, inviting them to her side, bribing them with promises of full-size candy bars. Their squeals of delight bring a bigger smile to her face.
Simon squeezes her hip. “That could be us someday, love. Walking our kids around the neighborhood.” He juts his chin out at the parents who offer and awkward wave in thanks as their kids run back.
“We’d probably be just as pissed about the sugar high these kids are going through,” she laughs.
As the night wears on, Simon gets more tired. He wants to go inside, to cuddle on the couch and watch a movie with her, to hold her tight as she sleeps, to listen to her heartbeat as she rests her head on his chest.
She can tell that he’s getting restless and leans over.
“Don’t you leave me, Simon Riley. We’re not done yet.”
But she offers a reassuring smile and follows it up with a promise. “We have the rest of the night to do whatever we want to.”
Light is a marvelous thing, how it breaks known rules of science to make its own, how it expects you to follow, to not question.
So he doesn’t question as he follows the light along his path. As he watches it take him along the bright spots in his life.
There is no mystery to him that she is in the center of all of them. How she shines and sparkles in every single one. She is the greatest thing that could’ve happened to him and he desperately wishes that she knows it.
So as the pain dulls and the blood spreads, he pulls her close and whispers “you are my light.”
Her tears fall faster and she shakily tells him, “don’t leave, Simon. Don’t go where I can’t follow.” She presses a salty kiss to his brow.
The light gets brighter and beckons, warmly, and soft hand extended. It has her face, her shape, her smell. Simon follows gladly. It’s for her.
His chest stills.
She sobs harder. Her tears pool on his cheeks and she kisses them away, begging for him to come back, to not leave her.
Price is there, tugging at her, getting her to move. He reminds her that they are in an active war zone, that they cannot stay.
But she mourns, and her heart breaks.
When she is allowed the time to grieve, her soul shatters. Big fat hot tears fall and there are no words that can turn them off.
Gaz soundlessly offers a hug and she takes it, sobbing into his shoulder.
“You know, they say that as someone dies, their brain shows them seven minutes of their life over again.” Gaz offers the words as comfort, but she finds little in them. “Do you think he suffered?” She sniffles.
“No, I think all he saw was you, and that was the greatest comfort he could’ve had.” He brushes her hair out of her face and whipes the tears from her cheeks.
She sniffles again but gives a half hearted smile to that.
“Me? And not any of you?”
This earns a slight chuckle from Gaz. “Maybe. But I know we weren’t as pretty as you.”
This garners a shoulder-shaking laugh from her. “You may be right about that.”
So she straightens her shoulders, sits upright, and whipes the remnants of the tears from her face.
“There you go,” Gaz whispers.
She looks out of the window towards the light, heart fluttering.
Light is a brilliant thing.
It shines and sparkles, illuminating all.
It radiates out of her eyes, highlighting her irises as she smiles.

“Hey pretty lady!” You say skipping up to Robin as she walked into work.
“Hey stranger!” She responded with a smile.
“Are you doing anything for Thanksgiving this year?” You asked, twirling your skirt.
“Oh I um-” Robin cleared her throat. “I don’t have anything going on actually. My parents are gonna be out of town on a trip they've had planned for over a year, why do you ask?”
“I was having a little get together with some people since it’s just gonna be me and my family, I thought maybe you’d like to join!” You suggested. Robin’s face lit up like a little kid on Christmas morning. “I’d love to!” She proclaimed.
“Oh yay! How exciting, all 6 of us are gonna have so much fun!” You said, Robin’s facial expression dropping at this.
“6? Who um, who else will be there exactly?” Robin questioned.
“Well my family and I of course! Steve will be there too since his parents aren't really around much. And also Eddie as well, his uncle is gonna be working that day and I didn't want him to be alone.” You stated.
“Oh okay, that’s- that's great! I cant wait!” Robin tried to hide her disappointment.
“Yay!! I’ll see you there! Okay, I’m off you have a good shift! Don’t drive her too crazy, Harrington.” You joked as you headed out the door.
“But that’s my job!” Steve replied. He turned to Robin and noticed the mood change. “What’s wrong?” He asked.
She sighed. “I didn’t know Eddie was gonna be at this get together. I thought it was gonna be like-”
“A date?” Steve questioned.
“Maybe I guess, I don’t know.” Robin said, putting her head in her hands.
“I still don’t see why you don’t make the first move?” Steve suggested.
“Oh I don’t know, maybe because it would end totally horrifically. Catastrophic even!” She exclaimed.
“But you don’t know that, maybe it won't end the way you think it will.” He said.
“Look, can we just drop it please?” Robin asked, getting ready to start her shift. Steve nodded and went to stock the candy.

“Well don’t you look nice!” Steve complimented as he picked up Robin.
“Thanks dingus, you don’t look too bad yourself.” She thanked her friend.
“What the hell is that?” Steve asked, pointing to the container in her lap.
“It’s a pie, what have you never seen a pie before?” She joked.
“Since when do you bake?” He scoffed as he continued to drive to Y/N’s house.
“Don’t be stupid, I bought this from the store. You really think that I’m gonna make her eat a pie that I don’t know how to make? Plus, at least I brought something, I don’t see you with anything.” Robin stated.
“Uh huh okay whatever Buckley.” He laughed.
As Steve drove the rest of the way to the destination, Robin’s nervousness increased. She spent all week trying to make everything perfect for today. From her hair, her outfit, and what she would say in a conversation. She practiced VERY hard with that as she didn’t want to be a rambling mess in front of you. She got so lost in her anxious thoughts that she didn’t even notice that they had arrived.
“Earth to Robin, hellooo?” Steve said, waving his hand in front of Robin’s face trying to capture her attention.
“What huh, sorry.” She replied coming back to reality.
“Look who was waiting for you.” Steve said pointing to the door, she saw you standing there in this cute outfit waving at the both of them. A blush began to creep upon her face. The pair got out of the car and made their way toward you.
“I’m so happy you guys are here! Come in come in!” You said leading your friends inside. Everyone was sitting there chatting and eating snacks. Robin looked around expecting to see your parents. “So guys this is my nana and papa, and this is Steve and Robin!” Y/N said introducing the two friends to your family.
“And I’m Eddie.” Eddie said as he stuffed his face with cheese cubes.
“Yes Eds we all know who you are.” You chuckled at him. “Now save some cheese for the rest of us!” You say slapping the cheese out of his hand. This made everyone laugh.
Everyone began to converse with one another and having a good time, which you were glad. You took hosting VERY seriously and wanted everyone to get along. You made sure that everything was perfect for today. “Hey, where did you want me to put this pie?” Robin asked as she approached you in the kitchen.
You turned around to face her, “oh um you can set it on the counter over there.” You say pointing to the free spot. You went back to adding the finishing touches to everything.
“Is there anything you need help with?” Robin asked, now standing next to you.
“Yes actually! Can you put the potatoes into the bowl over there for me please?” You asked kindly. Robin nods and starts to help out. She finishes up and is shocked at herself that she didn’t drop any.
“Alright everyone, time to eat! Ah go wash your hands you goose!” You said smacking Eddie's hand as he was reaching for the rolls.
"Ouch! Will you stop smacking my hands?" Eddie chuckled.
He returned and everyone sat down and began to eat. The food was being passed around as well as the stories, especially from your papa. Boy did he love to tell his stories. Robin was having a great time, all her anxiety was gone by this point. She was sitting next to you,  just enjoying your company and that was all that mattered most to her. ‘Maybe everything would be okay after all.' She thought to herself. Boy was she so very wrong.
Your grandparents had just went to bed so now it was just the 4 of you hanging out. Steve and Robin were in the living room while Eddie was helping you clean up. While Steve and Robin were dancing, they heard a screech coming from the kitchen. They both ran to see what had happened. There you were being playful with Eddie. He was chasing you around with olives on his fingers. “BWAH!!” Eddie said as he chased you.
“Stop, that’s so gross, you don’t even like olives anyways!!” You chuckled, trying to get away from him. He wrapped you up in his arms and lifted you up in the air. “Ahhh put me down you weirdo!!” You yelled.
Robin’s heart sank as she watched the scene unfold in front of her. She felt tears brimming her eyes. She pushed past Steve and grabbed her coat. Steve tried to call out for her to stop, but she ran out of the house. Y/N heard the door slam and Eddie set you down to go see what had happened. You walked into the living room and saw that both Robin and Steve were gone. You opened the front door and saw the car was now gone too. You felt a wave of sadness hit. Had you done something wrong for them to leave so suddenly? Without a goodbye at that. Eddie noticed the sadness in your eyes.
“Hey come here.” He said pulling you into a hug. “Maybe there was an emergency, I know it’s hard not to take it personal, but try not to, okay? At least not until you know what happened.” He hated seeing you so sad. "Come on, let's go finish up in the kitchen." You nodded and followed him.
"Alright here you go." You say handing Eddie the containers of food.
"Thanks, Wayne is gonna be thrilled to have this when he gets home from work." He thanked. "You know how he loves your cooking."
"Anytime!" You said trying to flash a smile, but in the back of your mind you couldn't stop thinking about Robin. Eddie could see the look on your face.
"I know." Eddie said as he pulled you into a hug. "Everything will be okay, I'm here for you always." He pulled away. "How about I come over tomorrow and we can do something just the two of us yeah?" He suggested.
"I'd really like that." You said with a smile. Eddie always knew how to make you feel better.
Eddie pulls you in for another hug. "Perfect, I'll see you tomorrow then okay peach?" You nod.
You helped him out to his van with all the food you had packed him and said your goodbyes. As he pulled out of the driveway he waved at you and you waved back. Then he drove on home and you were left alone to your thoughts. You went upstairs to shower and get ready for bed. You couldn't help but cry as you were in there. You never wanted to upset anyone and the thought of you doing that to Robin affected you deeply. After your shower, you crawled into bed and passed out.
Tumblr media
Some time had passed since the last time you saw Robin. She wasn’t at school the week after everything had happened so you’ve tried calling and going to her house, but you heard nothing. And even when she finally came back, she avoided you. She just won't talk to you and that devastated you. You weren’t sure what had happened, so you didn’t know how to make things right.
Steve was no help either, he wanted to tell you because you were his friend too but he had to respect Robin’s wishes. You had quit your job at the family video because it made you too sad going there and not being with Robin.
You’d cry to Eddie all the time about how sad it made you and he was there for you the best he could, he hated seeing you like this. Eddie knew how much you cared for Robin. He even tried to reach out to Robin to try and fix whatever had happened, but he got nowhere.
Tumblr media
It was now Christmas time and Steve had invited you over for a small get together. Part of you had hoped Robin would be there, but the chances of that were low. You still had gotten her a gift anyways, you didn’t want her to feel like you stopped caring about her. You finally had your own car so that meant no more Eddie driving you around everywhere, not that he’d complain anyways. You pulled up to Steve’s house and grabbed the gifts out of your trunk, soon making your way to the front door.
“Well look who decided to finally show up!” Steve said as he opened the door for you. You couldn't see him because of the big pile of gifts you had, but you could tell it was him by the sound of his voice. “Got enough gifts there Y/N?” He chuckled, helping you take some inside.
“Hey I didn’t want anyone to go without a gift!” You stated.
“Even me?” You heard someone say from behind. You turned around to see who it was and once the realization had hit, you ran right into their arms.
“God I’ve missed you so much.” You said softly as your voice began to break, tears welling up in your eyes.
“I missed you too Y/N.” Robin replied, hugging you tightly.
You pulled away to face her, tears streaming down your face at this point. “I’m so so so beyond sorry Robin, I-” She interrupted you.
“No no, there’s no need to apologize. You’ve done nothing wrong. There was just- a lot going on in my head and I needed some time to work through it.” She said, wiping your tears. You hugged her again not wanting to let go, you truly did miss her.
“So no Eddie huh?” She asked.
“No, he’s at home spending time with his uncle while they both have the time off from working.” You stated.
“Ah I see, that’s good I guess.” Robin replied. She was a little happy that he wouldn’t be there with you so she could have you all to herself.
“Alright come on you two, let’s go open gifts!” Steve interrupted
Everyone sat around in a circle and opened their gifts. Everyone had gotten things that they had enjoyed or needed, like Y/N got movies, Nancy got notepads for when she did her reporting, Steve got cans of hairspray (naturally), and the kids got stuff for DND. But Robin got random stuff, things that weren't really for her or what she liked. Things like candy, stickers, or knick knacks from a gumball machine. Basic stocking stuffers. She was grateful of course, but she felt like no one really knew her or didn’t care to get her anything that she would like. That was until she opened your gift. You had gotten her favorite records as well as ones that she had been wanting to get for a long time. She had the biggest smile on her face and her heart felt so full. No one had ever payed this much attention to her, not even Steve. She felt seen and heard for once. You went over to her spot and sat next to her.
“Merry Christmas Robin.” You said giving her a warm hug.
“Merry Christmas Y/N.” She replied, hugging you tightly. She really had missed you a lot and she was glad to have you back.

Drunken Confessions (UF!Sans x Reader)
I'm not good with words but I’ll pour my heart out to you
Drink until my heart and mind are through
I look into your eyes and I see a reflection of mine
I think we’ll be alright
“What do you mean?! Is he alright? Why didn’t you stop him?! Yeah I know it’s your job but still…. yeah yeah I'm on my way, don’t let him leave and keep an eye on him till i get there, i mean it” You hand up the phone with a sigh which quickly turned into a groan. Quickly grabbing your jacket you make your way over to Grillby’s.
You had received a call from Grillby requesting you to pick up Sans, finding out he was more liquor than skeleton and that he didn't want to deal with San's “drunk ass”.
Kicking the snow of your shoes as you enter the bar, scanning the area only to find Sans slumped over the counter giggling to himself. Well at least he was in a good mood this time.
After hearing the door close, his skull lifted a little to glance over at you. His drunk daze melting a little as he grinned happily at you, waving with enthusiasm and winking at you “eyyy! there'z ma babydoll! whut’s happnin’ hot stuff?~”
Oh yeah this was gonna be real fun.
“Saannnsss…..” you let out in a sigh, giving him a sympathetic gaze before asking. “How much have you had to drink?”
“hmm… not nuff.. haha…” he grinned, giggling to himself. He had multiple shot glasses and a half empty bottle of fire whiskey next to him. He wasn’t exactly a lightweight, the complete opposite actually. Yet whenever he did shots that logic seemed to fly out the window. “oh! I forgot to ask; how do ya like my outfit?” he spun around on the bar chair, striking a pose.
You couldn’t help but smile as you shook your head. Followed by a laugh that you were trying so hard to hide. “I think I'd like it a lot better if you were sober, Sans”
“Well where's the fun in dat, eh~
“Oh my sweet drunk, bone boy…” You whispered sweetly, giving him a sweet look. You couldn’t stay mad at him, not when he was like this. He could get a scolding after his hangover the next morning. “Have you eaten?” You asked as you put your arm around him. He usually forgot to feed himself, something you learned about sans when he got drunk. Which is funny because he loved to eat, anything and everything.
He takes your hand, giving it a light squeeze with his cold bony hand.  “Nah, ‘m actually pretty hungry.” He says, glancing at you with his wide eye lights and his goofy grin. “Wanna get a slice of pie and watch tv with me, doll?”
You smile at him, squeezing his hand back in recognition. “Pie and Tv sounds fucking amazing right now” you answer as you helped sans out of his chair. “come on you ol’ bag of bones let's get you home”' You paid Sans bill, leaving Grillby a generous tip. Joking that he needed it after tonight, which rewarded you a laugh from the flame monster. A rare treat.
The wind blew, and the snow was falling lightly. It was such a calm, tranquil night. The only sound was the wind rustling through the trees, the sounds of crunchy snow under shoes, and the occasional chatter between the two as they walked home.
You breathed in the cold night air, smiling as snowflakes decorated your face, scattering themselves throughout your hair. Looking down at Sans you could help but smile, once again giggling to himself as he recites the worst of puns. With the occasional dad joke or two. They were so bad that you couldn't help but laugh. “So Sans, what were we thinking of watching when we got home?” You ask as you unlock the front door to the house.
He grinned like a kid in a candy shop, watching you make your way into the kitchen. Fetching the two of you big slices of pie “Shitty movie marathon!” He says in a goofy tone, throwing himself onto the couch. He immediately grabs the remote and turns down the tv volume. He snuggles in close, putting his cold hand on your leg.
You could help but grin at this, snuggling him back making a comment how fucking cold his hands weren and taking one of them into your own to warm it up. This was a tradition you and Sans had, every few months you and Sans find shitty movies to watch. Usually found at the dump or given to you by Alphys, binge 'em till they’re either so bad you have to stop watching or you fall asleep…. We always fell asleep. "Yeah, Shitty movie marathon!!" You chanted enthusiastically, handing him a slice of pie.
Sans took his slice of pie stuffing his face quickly, his eyes glued to the screen. He seems like he’s having a good time, occasionally stealing a glance at you with a smile. You couldn't help but giggle to yourself, finding San's antics quite charming. You enjoy eating your slice of pie watching a movie about a troll in a city who could magically make flowers grow…. It was horrific but shit talking it with Sans made it all the better. "Still drunk, bone boy?" You couldn't help but ask.
His eyes widened a little bit, freezing in the middle of swallowing a bite of pie. “Uh-“ he swallowed quickly, gulping down the bite of pie “y-yup.” He glanced away quickly, embarrassed and flushed slightly. He takes a deep breath in through his nostrils, trying to calm his nerves down. He was never very comfortable telling white lies though… he always feels guilty afterwards… he’s never really gotten any better at them.
You instantly catch onto his lie, his body language and response said it all. Something you picked up with Sans was the lies... Not big ones, lil innocent white lies that everyone tells. But seeing him nervous like that gave you some questions. You thought that was strange, you thought you two were having a good time, what happened. Did you catch him at a bad time? Was he mid thought of something? "You sure? What's up?" You question slightly, giving him a little nudge.
His lips part slightly as he ponders for a moment. He opens his mouth to speak, pausing for a moment. After a couple seconds of hesitating, his face turns a bright shade of red.
“Well…” He starts before turning his gaze. He seems incredibly nervous as his voice gets all scratchy and his hands start to shake slightly. He takes a breath in through his nostrils, letting the air fill his lungs as he pauses. This is unlike the bold and cocky Sans you knew.. But this wasn't new, Sans always had an anxiety issue but he seemed to deal with it very well.
Putting your plate of pie to the side you take both his hands into yours, rubbing your thumbs along his knuckle. You knew Sans was never good with his words, but he was trying. And you did your best to encourage him when he did. "Sans.... you don't have to tell me what’s wrong but....i want to help you, even if it's something i can’t help with perhaps saying it will give you some peace of mind." You look into his eyes gently, leaning your forehead into his. "I promise  won't think any less of you"
His eyes soften as he stares into your eyes. Tears started to well up in his eyes. He seemed on the verge of breaking down. He opens his mouth a couple times before finding his voice. For a strong skeleton who could wipe out armies with a single attack, he seemed so fragile. He looks at you with wide, tearful eyes and says the words.
“What are we?”
oh…
The question completely threw you off guard. So this… this is why he… You didn't know what to say, the look on his face broke your heart. But this explained so much, getting drunk at the bar, the shitty movie marathon which was our tradition!! Why you and Papyrus couldn't find him early that day. Why he was being weird all week! Fuck you were really bad at reading him sometimes.
You always thought you were together, an unspoken thing between you both. Heck even papyrus thought we were already “mates”, as much as you hated the term as it didn't describe your relationship one bit. Reassurance and confirmation is what he wanted. “Well I thought we were together already…. But i’m guessing a verbal confirmation is what you’d like”
He nodded slowly, sweat beading down his skull as he avoided your gaze.
You take his head with your free hand, tilting it up to meet your gaze. You spoke softly and sweetly as he listened to every word.“We’re partners Sans, we may not be like every other couple here in the underground but we do we. We may not do the whole “dating” thing but that doesn't make us any less partners. If you’d like, I can take you out on dates and you may take me out on some if you’d prefer.”
He nodded slowly, whispering a thank you as you ran your thumb along his cheek. That seemed to ease some of his nerves but there was something else. Before you could ask it seemed to already slip outta him.
“I… I think I love you… ”
A beat of silence followed by a blink before the realization hits you. You feel your cheeks heat up as you try to find the words. But as his gaze caught yours, you looked at him with wide eyes as his was brimming with tears. The look on his face broke your heart, knowing this was very hard for him to do.Yet you were proud of him for saying so… it was a lot of emotions for you to process. So you did the first thing that came to mind.
“I don't know if this is too soon or if ya not into that shit but i… w-what?” his voice stutters as you pull him into a hug, snuggling into his thick sweater. He tenses at first, unsure how to react but he slowly melts into the hug.
"I love you too ya bone head.....” You whisper to him before giving him a kiss on the cheek “Thank you for telling me"
He seems a bit taken aback by the kiss, completely taken unaware as it landed right on his warm, bony cheek. He’s still completely red in the cheeks, his heart starts racing again. The kiss made it completely skyrocket, feeling all warm underneath his shirt. He was still embarrassed from telling you his feelings because he wasn’t really very good at dealing with his emotions in general…but he wasn’t complaining… just very flustered.
You couldn't help but laugh, overwhelmed with joy. As well as the look on San's face. Huh maybe you should've taken things slow? You weren't exactly the best with relationships, and you were a mess but... Sans said he loved you.... that was good enough for you. " So how are we gonna do this, Now that we’re officially dating?" you couldn't help but ask, slightly nervous. It's not like things were going to be any different right?
“Well… what do you wanna do?” He says, grinning. His eyes are completely locked on yours with a shy, flirty look in his eyes as he takes your hands in his once again. “I mean do we do what we’ve always done? Or like…” his cheeks start getting red again, him still having to get used to all the lovey-dovey couple stuff that went with dating.
You couldn't help but mimic San's shyness, instinctively averting your eyes occasionally looking back. You weren't usually this nervous, but you weren't used to “proper” relationships or dating... or couple stuff.... You felt a little overwhelmed. You didn't know why, you were fine just before thinking that you two were together. Why should it be any different now?  "Um.... im not sure.. also for the record i'm not really good at the whole lovey-dovey dating thing.... I would be just fine if we didnt what we’ve been doing ya know? " you say anxiously, your voice trailing off at the end. Your heart felt like it was beating outside your chest... and your stomach felt kinda sick.
“Like yeah I steal your sweater and stuff, you and I flirt and make lewd comments back and forth. we cuddle a lot, occasionally get touchy and shit but I can't….. I don't know if I can do uh…I can’t…”
Sans eyes widened as you spoke, kinda understanding what you were getting at. He gently stroked his phalanges along your knuckles. He reached his free hand out to stroke the side of your face tenderly. His fingers were cold but soothing on your skin, stopping you mid ramble. He could already tell that you really had no idea about romance or all the cutesy coupley stuff and that you were uncomfortable or unsure about doing anything more.
He sighed as he pulled you into him, your back against his chest. “Darlin’ we don’t have to do anythin’ you don’t wanna do. ‘Kay?”
You thank him slightly, hugging his arms around your waist. Grateful that you didn't need to explain yourself and that he was already on board. You look up at him, grinning as he flashed his pretty smile, his gold tooth glinting in the light. You felt safe in his arms, loved under his gaze. And you know too that he felt loved by you. You close your eyes as you hear Sans purr softly, feeling the vibrations from his rib cage against your back. It’s like everything is okay when you’re with Sans.
… You two were going to be fine

「 SCREAM FOR YOU ! 」 . . . 📁 HALLOWEEN SPECIAL
scream : billy loomis, stu macher
wrd count : 822
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⊹˚.⋆ synopsis . . . a brief flashback into [name] & billy’s history
⊹˚.⋆ starring . . . billy loomis, stu macher, & male reader
Stu, Billy, and I were walking side by side as we walked down the bustling neighborhood. Kids our age and younger were running around in brand new Halloween costumes carrying big bins of candy.
It was our final year in middle school together, so we decided to go all out for trick or treating. Billy was dressed up as the Candyman since it had been his favorite horror movie since we all saw it together in the movie theater. Stu had gone for a more comedic look dressing up as Carrie. Although the two wanted me to join in on their horror themed costumes I was dressed up as Fred from Drop Dead Fred.
The night felt like it was never ending with more houses begging for us to take their delicious candy as we turned down each corner of the neighborhood. Stu definitely had the most between the three of us though with his boundless charm and charisma with the parents who tried to subtly give him extra candy without Billy and I noticing. Those efforts failed; however, with our observant eyes noticing everything and anything.
Although it didn't feel like it the night did have to come to an end eventually. Our trio sat on the large porch of Stu's house munching on the large amounts of candy filling up our bags as we talked about meaningless things like most teenage boys do.
Except for the fact Billy and Stu were not like most teenage boys I knew. They had an obsession with horror films so strong it was slightly concerning. Their obsession had bothered me at first, but as time went on and they dragged me to more and more horror movie seeings at the movie theaters I learned to love horror films as much as they do.
Which was ever so apparent now as the two boys sitting next to me argued over Child's Play 3 for the billionth time.
Stu wasn't one for plots, but rather enjoyed the goriness of the film, "Okay, but this film had too high of a standard to live up to! Child's Play 2 was a masterpiece, so of course this one wouldn't be as good, but it's still fun to watch!"
Billy, on the other hand, hated mindless slasher films with no substance, "This is the weakest film in the franchise so far. I mean the death scenes are fun, but the plot lacks real substance."
A delicate smile was spread across my face as I watch the two boys argue. I admired the fierceness on their faces as they argued over their stances.
Sadly, our fun was interrupted by Stu's mom calling him inside. Billy and I shared a frown as we waved bye to Stu as he stood sadly at his front door. The light escaping from the open door died out as his mom shut it closed, leaving Billy and me alone in the darkness.
The darkness that filled our surroundings made me tense. It was embarrassing that at the age of 14 I still had a fear of the dark, so I usually kept it to myself. Billy gave me a concerned look, but just shrugged it off when I flashed him a forced smile.
The two of us walked along the bumpy, countryside road as we left the huge Matcher house. I stuck close to Billy too scared to be far from him in the dark.
Our hands would touch ever so slightly, but when it happened it sent my naive, preteen mind wild. Billy was cute. His cuteness wasn't helping my disdain towards my recent feelings towards him. Recent feelings bottled up inside of me that I wasn't sure I was allowed to feel.
The touch of our hands broke me out of my thoughts. It was different this time. Billy's hand was now holding mine. I glanced fearfully at our hands before glancing up at Billy.
He held a look of certainty in his eyes that was opposite of mine.
With a stride forward he pressed our lips together. My blood ran hot at the feeling, and panic was coming over me like a tsunami. I pushed the boy away, and he fell to the ground with an oomph as his candy spilled around him.
I ran harder than ever away from Billy's shaking body. Cries for me to come back echoed into the emptiness of the night, but I paid no mind. I just ran.
The scene of Billy smooshing his lips against mine played in my head like a broken VHS tape. I didn't want to watch it anymore. The feeling of his lips pressed against mine was still present, and I prayed the wind blowing against my running body would smear the feeling off.
Billy Loomis wasn't supposed to be my first kiss. Not in a million years.

#1 DAD MUG
A/N: enjoy this little north/sonic/kim (They're all together bc i can) gifting Alan a #1 dad mug on fathers day thing I threw together.
-------------------------------------------------------
*Kim pov*
"We should go in here I've been wanting a new jacket,"  Sonic says gesturing to a little vintage shop.
"You're got it," North pipes up bolting to the door so he can hold it open for us.
We've been together for a few months now and decided it would be nice to have a nice shopping date where we walk around a bunch of small shops and just exist with each other. I started liking them when I was staying with Alan, they were just such a different energy than I was used to. They're always so lively and happy all the time and it's hard to not have it infected you too.
When we told everyone about our relationship they were all so supportive, though a little shocked that North and Sonic hadn't been together for a while and hadn't told anyone yet. I had been too honestly but what matters is we are all together now.
We walked around the shop together for a while before North got distracted by the wall of trinkets on the side of the store and wondered off. I stayed with Sonic helping him pick out some jackets. At one point he slips his hand out of mine to grab some bright green and black jacket so I slip my hand in his back pocket.
He gets the jacket half off the hanger when we hear North start giggling so loud it was like he's right next to us. We look over at him and he just waves us over.
"GUYS HOW FUNNY WOULD IT BE IF WE GAVE THIS TO ALAN!!" He shouts bouncing up and down like a kid who just ate a shit load of candy.
"TOMORROWS FATHERS DAY!" Sonic chimes in instantly matching his energy.
"We could get him a card too," I add while I set my elbow on Norths shoulder.
"YES!!" they both shout.
After that's settled we walk around the shop and pick out a few more things before I pay for it all and we head home.
-------------------------------------------------‐---------‐-------------------
*the next morning*
*Alan's pov*
"Wake uuuuppp," I barely hear some voice call for me as I'm shaken awake. After recognizing Norths voice I ignore him and tuck my head into Jeff's neck.
Unfortunately he doesn't get the signal and continues pestering us or should I say me, he's leaving Jeff alone. I look at the alarm clock and see it's 9:30 which is later than we are usually up but we didn't have to be at the garage until the afternoon so we wanted to sleep in.
However it doesn't seem like I get to be granted that wish today. I prop myself up and see North, Sonic, and Kim sat up and snuggled at the end of the bed.
"What is so important that you couldn't wait until work?" I ask them. By now Jeff has also stated to wake up but still leans on my shoulder from drowsiness.
"So rude we come here to bring you A PRESENT and this is how you treat us," North places his hand on his chest to mock offense.
"You could have at least knocked."
"To be fair I knocked one time and you acted like I had three heads," Kim inputs.
"You know when you three got together I thought you would reign those two in a bit and calm them down. I miss those days."
"Get over it and open your present," Sonic says shoving a bag at me.
First thing I pull out is a "#1 dad mug" under it I see a cheesy card with an ice cube on it that says "ur a cool dad" with all their names signed in it. I hate to admit it but it was so cute I got over the fact that they woke me up just to mess with me.
"IM NOT YOUR DAD!!" I say throwing the now empty bag at them.
"You kind of are," Jeff says now that he's fully awake.
"You do realize that makes you their step dad."
"I can live with that."
"Anyway we have brunch reservations so we need to go," Kim says and they all tackle us in a hug and run out the bedroom door.
The last thing I hear is them shout "love you dad" before the front door closes.
"You act all annoyed but you know if you ever had to go week without their chaos you wouldn't know what to do with yourself. You absolutely adore them and their mischief as much as they love you and pestering you. Anyway I'm going to shower," Jeff says before kissing me on the cheek and heading to shower.
He's right but honestly I don't mind I love this family I have around me and wouldn't change a thing about it. I wipe away the tears that started building in my eyes before propping the card up on my bedside table and going down to make breakfast.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*some morning a couple weeks later*
"Wow Alan you're really leaning into the whole dad friend thing aren't you?" Babe teases gesturing the the mug North, Sonic, and Kim gave me as I fill it with coffee. Everyone's over for our monthly movie night a tradition started as a way to relax after everything with Tony.
"AWWW you use the mug we got you, you do love it," North taunts from the couch.
"He uses it every day," Jeff adds from beside me.
A chorus of "awww"s sounds from the living room and I shoot Jeff a playful glare.
"And he keeps the card on his bedside table."
I swear they all drive me crazy I think and smile to myself.

Aight bet
Penny gets lost every single time
Mischa puts her on a leash and she still manages to get lost
Ocean is the only one who actually is on task
Mischa keeps trying to buy vodka
Ricky likes to sit in the cart while Penny runs around the aisles pretending it’s a race car
Ocean almost had an asthma attack trying to stop them once
Noel adds things while Ocean isn’t looking
Meanwhile Constance just asks for something and is instantly told yes
No one can say no to her like cmon
“We need an Ocean O’Connell Rosenberg at the front please” “That’s me?” “Your friends are in the lost and found” *Ricky and Penny waving* “I DIDNT EVEN BRING YOU TWO?!!”
Noel likes posing with the wine
Mischa piles junk food in the cart
“Mischa you do not need 10 bags of Funyuns put 9 back or you get none”
Penny once convinced Ocean to get in the cart while she pushed her around to show her the appeal
She threw up
Mischa can and will climb a shelf if it’s too tall for him to reach
I’m here to push my trans Mischa agenda, the only reason Ocean knows he’s trans is because she took him to the grocery store once and he tried to stock up on bandages
She lectured him for about an hour about unsafe binding and then immediately went online and ordered him a binder
The entire choir have one thing in common: their love for the candy aisle
Noel gets the most French sounding item in the aisle and then also gummy bears
They also all have one common enemy and that is the texture of Sour Patch Kids
Source: I hate the texture of Sour Patch Kids
Specifically Ocean and Ricky, they must be five feet away from them at all times
Ocean and Constance really like those soft cookies with the bright frosting and sprinkles
Penny once threw a slab of meat at Mischa for kicks
Ocean and Noel verbally fight Karen’s
Mischa physically fights them
Once Beautiful by Christina Aguilera started playing on the speakers and Noel ran out of the store
Ocean was laughing her ass of the entire time
Ocean buys watermelon gum every time
Penny likes jump-scaring people
Ricky loves it
She once scared Noel so hard that he launched the bag of flower he was holding at her and accidentally hit Mischa which is when the bag of flour burst open
This was during winter break
Penny sang Frosty the Snowman the whole way home
Ocean likes strawberries
Noel once started singing Gaston when Mischa was holding a carton of eggs so Mischa picked him and Ocean up and put them on his shoulders
Noel was literally bright red
The entire choir has pictures of this

Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
Billy Hargrove x Reader (Series)
Chapter Two: Just the Two of Us
Tumblr media
part one! part three!
(A/N: i know billy may be slightly out of character, but this is just for fun! i think most people, especially people as young as billy was, are capable of being kind and loving if they’re shown how to do those things, and he clearly wasn’t. this is just a silly little story that i’m writing for myself, and i’m glad other people can also enjoy it! so thank you so much for all of the love on chapter one! hearing appreciation for my writing is what inspires me to create more. so thank you so much, and enjoy chapter two!!!!)
*****
It was strange. Billy usually found himself annoyed with people around 10 minutes into meeting them. Sometimes quicker, and that seemed to be happening more often in Hawkins than California.
Not with his new friends, though.
Lunch was actually fun. Jonathan had accepted him so quickly, immediately launching into a story about when he was locked in the bathroom during a fire drill. Billy felt like he could actually be himself, open up (very slightly as he didn’t really know these people) to the first people to be genuinely kind to him in years.
He’d met Robin while walking (Y/N) to her next class after lunch. Her ramblings were pretty funny and she wasn’t intimidated by the older boy. Actually, she seemed to embrace him rather quickly.
“All I’m saying is if you want my mom to like you, let her pay for the pizza. Otherwise, she’ll think you’re calling her poor.” They were discussing Saturday night, the day after Halloween.
“Can I give her some Halloween candy I stole from Mike, Lucas, Will, and Dustin?”
“Yeah, or we can just eat it.”
“Who’s that?” Billy spoke up for the first time in awhile.
“They’re these kids I babysit sometimes.” A code word for saving the world together. “Very sweet, but so annoying.”
“They come in sometimes to play with the puppies at work. Bye, dorks.” Robin added, waving goodbye as she walked off to her class.
“I never did ask where you work, by the way.” Billy double checked his schedule, trying to find the correct room. He had spent the majority of the previous day in the front office taking placement tests.
“You couldn’t see the logo on my scrubs last night?” (Y/N) teased, her tone light.
“It was obstructed by mud, doll.”
“I work at the animal shelter. You should definitely come by sometime.” She stopped walking, finally arriving at her class.
“This is your class?” Billy was grinning from ear to ear.
She nodded.
“Well, I think I won the lottery, princess. It’s mine, too.”
He followed his friend (he liked to think of her as one) inside, the bell ringing as he took a seat next to her. He took a moment to take in her side profile, the gentle slope of her nose, the curve of her lips. Her eyelashes, which stuck out straight instead of curling up, hiding their length. Her hair was braided, falling over her shoulder. She chewed on her thumbnail as she waited for the teacher to come in.
She pretended she didn’t notice him staring.
“Hello, everyone. Sorry for being late.” An elderly lady walked in quickly. “Ms. Hopper, will you take attendance?”
(Y/N) was Mrs. Thompson’s absolute favorite. She had called the police once after she fell and became enamored with Hopper, who had come to check out the scene when his patrol officers were all busy. Hopper, having a heart of gold, decided to have dinner with the lonely old woman and he brought along his only daughter (at the time.) This had been years ago, and she couldn’t believe that the sweet little girl who she had made brownies with was in her class.
“While attendance is being taken, we have a new student in our class. Mr. Hargrove, will you please come to the front?”
Now, normally, Billy would have just sat there and flipped off the teacher. But (Y/N) looked at him in such an expectant, hopeful manner that he couldn’t bring himself to disappoint her. So, he brought himself to his feet and stepped to the front of the room.
“Hi. I’m Billy.” Mrs. Thompson smiled and placed a hand on his arm.
“Where are you from?”
“California.”
She nodded, letting go of him. Looking around the class, all the girls (except the only one he actually knew) looked absolutely ravenous as they drank in his physicality. Playing with their hair, chewing gum, sitting perched in just a way to make their breasts stick out. The dudes looked intimidated, but overall curious. He walked back to his seat, feeling slightly ridiculous, but any sense of embarrassment flew out of the window when (Y/N) flashed him a toothy grin and held out her fist for a bump.
He obliged.
*****
“What’s bothering you?” Robin slid up to her best friend, placing a caring hand on her back.
“What? Who said something’s wrong with me?”
“Uh, your expression? You’ve been frowning at that inventory report for the past 10 minutes. What’s up?”
(Y/N) took a deep breath.
“My dad didn’t come home last night. Do you think you could ask your mom to drive me by the station on your way home? I can ask one of the officers for a ride if he’s not there.” She chewed her thumbnail, eyes downcast. She hated asking for help.
“Of course! He’s probably just busy, you know? Although, it’s weird he didn’t call. But don’t you live out in like the middle of the woods? Do you guys even have a phone? Maybe he was getting laid! That’s gross. Although, he probably needs it.”
Listening to Robin brought a sense of rationality to (Y/N). Hopper was probably fine, and if she couldn’t find him today, she could ask Eleven to find him. Although, if something bad did happen to him, she really didn’t want El to see that. She’d seen enough bad shit, and it always made her feel bad to see her little sister’s nose bleed.
The shift carried on pretty gracefully. A chihuahua bit Robin, but she just laughed it off, and a new cat was found in the alley behind the local church. The dog food shipment was running late, so Robin had to call their supplier and chew them out, and the cat food supplier sent the wrong brand, so (Y/N) called them and complained as well.
At around 15 minutes until the end of their shift, the one and only Billy Hargrove strolled in.
“Evening, ladies.” He smiled as soon as he spotted them.
His smile seemed extremely perfected, like he had spent a pretty good amount of time in the mirror rehearsing it. She figured he had some stupid name for it, too, like ‘the Ladykiller’, or ‘the Pantysoaker’. It was manufactured to impress girls, not to actually show joy.
“Hello, Billy. Come to clean the kennels?” She chided, not looking up from her adoption reports.
“You know me so well. I love cleaning up dog shit.” He leaned against the counter and looked down at her papers. She snatched them away from his gaze.
“Confidential.”
“Yeah, you’d be fucked if I knew who adopted Mr. Mittens, huh?”
“Royally. Now, do you wanna see some dogs?”
He nodded and started to lead him to the back area where the dogs were kept. Robin just kept reading her book.
“Do you have any old dogs?” He wasn’t sure why, but he’d always had a soft spot for geriatric animals. His mother had an old ass border collie and as a kid, Billy would fall asleep on the dog nearly every night.
“Yeah! There’s this one dog, we don’t really know her breed, but I would guess she’s part lab part pitbull? Anyway, she’s around 10 and she’s so sweet and sleepy. She’s in the green room, actually.”
She felt excited, showing him a part of her life, even if visitors weren’t allowed to see dogs this late. There was something about him that just screamed out at her, begging her to keep digging and find out what he was keeping under the surface. Maybe it was the way he glanced around nervously but immediately mustered up the confidence of 10 men as soon as he realized he was caught.
Christ, she’d known him 2 days at this point and was already feeling poetic about the whole thing.
“Hello, Peach!” She knelt next to a tan and white dog that rested in the corner of her kennel. It was actually pretty spacious, and she had multiple toys and food bowls around the area.
“Her name is Peach?” He thought it suited her pretty well as the dog slowly walked over to (Y/N), legs shaky but eyes excited.
“Thank you! I picked it.” She unlocked the kennel door and stepped inside, waving Billy to follow.
They sat on the floor with Peach and spent a good amount of time loving on her. She very much appreciated it, especially when Billy scratched that one spot behind her ears. No words were said to each other, only loving phrases toward the old dog.
“Who’s a good girl? Are you a good girl? Aw, you’ve got such pretty eyes.” Billy cooed, losing all sense of cool as the dog’s tail wagged faster than ever. He knew (Y/N) wouldn’t judge him anyway, so he moved to where he was laying on the floor, both hands petting Peach.
“I hate to break up this absolutely adorable moment, but my shift ended 5 minutes ago. I really need to clock out or I’ll get in a ton of trouble.” (Y/N) stood, holding a hand out to help Billy up. He took it, mostly using his own legs to stand but appreciably smiling at her.
“I always forget how much I love dogs.” The smile didn’t leave his face as they left the green room. He waited for her she clocked out, watching her speak to Robin for a minute, seemingly arguing about something. He couldn’t help the way his ears picked up his own name.
“Just ask Billy!”
“No, he drove me yesterday.”
“You think he doesn’t want an excuse to parade that little Camaro around?!”
“You just don’t want to ask your mom to drive me.”
“I can want two things!”
Billy wondered if (Y/N)‘s dad didn’t come home again. He hadn’t even met the guy and his opinion of the police chief was starting to sour.
She walked up to him, her hands behind her back and chin up high. Her eyes were closed as if she was gathering courage and, unbeknownst to Billy, she was flipping Robin off behind her back.
“Hey, Billy. Look, I’m so sorry to ask you for this, but my dad didn’t come home again and I was just wondering if you could drop me by the police station? I can have an officer take me home, so don’t worry about that.”
Billy checked his watch. It was 7:10, and his curfew was 8 on school nights. He figured he could make it, and even if he didn’t, Neil could honestly go to hell. He’d just sleep in his car and deal with the consequences another day, hopefully on a day that Max had already fucked up.
“Sure, princess. You don’t have to look so embarrassed.” He winked and opened the passenger door for her. It took every ounce of willpower in his body not to look at her ass as she slid into the seat.
As he walked around and got into his own, she had already started hyperventilating.
“I am embarrassed because now my dad looks shitty when he’s actually wonderful, and I’m upset because I don’t know where he is, and I’m nervous because I’m just a nervous person in general, and I’m tired because I didn’t sleep last night waiting up for him, and I’m angry because he hasn’t fucking called, and this whole situation is just turning into a huge clusterfuck!” She slammed her hands on the dashboard and started crying.
“Hey, doll, it’s alright. We’re gonna head over there and check this shit out, alright?”
“I promise I’m not usually so needy.”
“I wouldn’t mind if you were.”
Billy started to drive, already mostly knowing his way around the town after spending so much time just aimlessly driving. She turned the music up and hummed as she stared out the window.
She was absolutely terrified at the thought of Hopper being missing, of the Hawkins Lab shit coming back. She was even more terrified at the thought of taking care of Eleven by herself, something she was willing to do, but not exactly excited about.
Billy, on the other hand, was confused. He’d never enjoyed doing things for other people in California. He liked to keep to himself and pretend to care just enough to get laid. Honestly, the girls didn’t mind what he said much, anyway. They were honestly just as cruel to him as he was in return. He was just a hot bad boy to them, a way to rebel against society. Eventually, they’d all marry their band nerd high school sweetheart, and Billy would probably end up in jail or dead. At least, that’s what Neil loved to point out. ‘Walking STD’ was a favorite name of Neil’s, and Billy absolutely hated it.
“Thank you, Billy. Honestly.” She unbuckled and started to open the door, but stopped when Billy opened his own. “Why are you getting out?”
“I’m coming with. You know, in case something happened?”
They stared at each other for a moment. Her eyes were glassy, still not completely finished crying. His were intense and grounding as she steeled herself to enter the police station. She took a few deep breaths, still staring intently into his baby blues and she nodded.
“Okay. Let’s go.”
They walked towards the double doors of the station and she gripped the sleeve of his denim jacket.
“Everybody knows me in here, so we should probably be able to tell what’s happening just based on their reactions.”
She took it as a good sign that no one had pulled her out of class with bad news.
“After you.” He pulled open the door for her and she stepped in.
“(Y/N)! What are you doing here?” The receptionist, Gloria, beamed at the pair.
“Hey, Gloria. Listen, my dad hasn’t been home in a few days and I was just curious if you’d seen him?”
“Oh, yes! He’s been hard at work with some infected pumpkins. It’s pretty silly if you ask me, but he’s been trying to get to the bottom of it. I think he’s actually in his office if you need him!”
“I’ll be in the car if you need me.” Billy sent (Y/N) a reassuring smile and left as she walked towards her dad’s office.
The door opened loudly, waking a sleeping Hopper at his desk.
“Are you kidding me? You don’t come home last night and when I come to find you you’re sleeping at your desk?” She was angry all over again, but still relieved he was okay.
“I told Gloria to call you at work so you could find a ride home.” He rubbed his eyes and yawned.
“Well, clearly she didn’t! We were so worried about you! And I had to walk home, until some jackass splashed me and I got a ride!” She slammed her hands against his desk.
“From who?” He looked up from whatever the hell he was doing, now getting mad himself.
“It doesn’t matter. What matters—”
“It absolutely does matter. What, because you didn’t want to walk home, you’re gonna put her in danger?” There was a rule against saying Eleven’s name public.
“I was covered in muddy water and it was 45 fucking degrees outside!”
“Language! And I don’t care how cold you were, you could have put her in danger.”
“So, freezing to death isn’t danger? Walking 10 miles alone at night isn’t danger? Having a fucking—”
“Language.”
“—panic attack because I’m thinking you’re dead isn’t danger? You’re gonna put me at risk because you’re too lazy to actually call me yourself?!”
“I was walking around 3 different pumpkin patches for 5 hours last night. I told Gloria to call you. I did my job! You can not blame me for her not doing hers.”
“Your job is to be my father. When you remember that, we’ll be glad to have you home.”
She stormed out, slamming the door as hard as she could behind her, satisfied when she heard a picture frame fall off the wall. Walking as fast as she could, she carried herself out of the station and into the parking lot to where Billy was waiting.
He looked at her frazzled state as she entered the car. He could tell from her expression that things didn’t go well.
“Drive, please.”
*****
Hopper had returned at about 2 am, completely exhausted. He used his keys, not wanting to wake the girls as he let himself in.
He set down his keys and shrugged off his jacket before looking around. The TV was still on, but the girls were nowhere in sight. He ventured deeper into the house, stopping outside Eleven’s room. As he opened the door, his heart rate quickened when he noticed she wasn’t in there.
“Oh, fuck.”
He dashed into his older daughter’s room, sighing in relief as he saw both girls cuddled together in the bed. Eleven’s arms were wrapped tightly around her sister, their faces looking so peaceful as they slept. He took a moment to just stare at them and kneeled next to the bed. He took one of their hands each and just held them for a minute. He felt extremely guilty, especially for how he treated (Y/N) in his office. She was right. He should have called her himself, but he was caught up in the case again. He felt so ashamed for making her walk alone at night. He knew how dangerous it was out there, and he knew he could never forgive himself, even if nothing bad actually happened to her. He started to cry softly and kissed each girl’s hand.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered. “I love you.”
He sat for a few more moments just reminiscing on all of the good moments he had with them. Driving (Y/N) to the zoo and seeing how absolutely batshit insane she went over all of the animals, baking a cake with Eleven, watching bad movies with the both of them way too late at night and laughing way too much. He wouldn’t ever take them for granted, and he would always come home to them.
He stood, walking towards the door.
“I love you, too.” (Y/N) spoke softly, snuggling into her sister even more as she went back to sleep.
He’d really hit the jackpot when it came to his daughters.
*****
The next day was Halloween, and no one at Hawkins High really acknowledged it besides a few parties happening that night. Billy had obviously been invited to them all, but Jonathan and (Y/N) hadn’t. Not that they cared, and even if they had been asked, they wouldn’t go. They were both planning on being with their younger siblings.
“Come on. I’ll even wear a matching costume with you.” Billy begged her.
“Where are you even going to get one? I’m pretty sure all the stores are sold out.” She took a bite of her sandwich.
“I’ll make one.” He stated matter-of-factly.
“Since when can you sew?” Jonathan laughed, finally looking up from his homework.
“You really need to do your homework at night. I’m getting sick of seeing your chicken-scratch while I’m eating.” She lightly pushed the notebook, causing Jonathan to roll his eyes.
“Look, you guys come to the party with me for 10 minutes. Then I’ll drive you both home. Deal?”
She took a second to consider. She really did want to spend the evening with El. And having a night of fun with her family would be a good way to get over the argument with Hopper. But on the other hand, she had never been to a party. Steve had offered to bring her a few times, but she always declined.
She looked at Jonathan. The perk of being friends with someone for 10 years was being able to communicate with only the eyes.
He gave an ‘it’s up to you’ glance and went back to his work.
“5 minutes.”
“Deal.” Billy grinned.
*****
Hopper was actually very open to his daughter going to a party. He figured she needed to just let off some steam and be a teenager for awhile. Plus, he really didn’t want to watch whatever horror movie she would subject them to in the spirit of the holiday.
Billy pulled up to the cabin (rather, an area about 5 minutes of walking away, as Hopper didn’t want to risk anything) and couldn’t believe his luck as his eyes landed on her.
She was wearing a knee-length black dress with a light blue sweater over the top. It wasn’t revealing in the slightest, but the way her hair fell over her shoulder, the way he could see the reflection of the moon in her eyes was absolutely maddening.
He wasn’t wearing a costume either, just some jeans and a leather jacket. He opted for no shirt, a decision that didn’t really make sense for October, but a decision nonetheless.
He really couldn’t figure out what it was about her that was so amazing to him. He’d admired her honestly and wit, sure, and she was obviously beautiful. He liked how intwined with his own life she had become, and how she wasn’t ashamed of letting him in. He liked how he knew she would accept him no matter what. But he didn’t know what compelled him to stop that night, what made him insist on taking her home. He had never done something like that before. Fate, possibly, or divine intervention had to be it.
“Let’s get going. I plan on being back within the hour.” She gave him a wicked grin as she pulled open the door and slid into the increasingly familiar seat.
“Not even gonna tell me how beautiful I look?” He teased, putting the car into drive.
“Nah. You already know it.”
They talked for a bit on the drive, mostly just teasing back and forth and giving directions to Jonathan’s house. He wanted to reach over and grab her hand, her thigh, anything.
She, however, was very anxious about the whole thing. She didn’t want to go now that she was in the car, on the way. She was thinking of every possible bad scenario, everything that could go wrong.
“You okay?” Billy asked, turning onto Jonathan’s street.
“Just anxious.” She but her thumbnail.
“About?”
“What if there’s a pool and I get pushed in?”
“Why are you even thinking about that?” He parked beside the house she pointed at.
“Because that’s how my brain works.”
Jonathan walked out, Will in tow. They were laughing as they walked to the car and as she rolled down the window.
“Hey, guys, I’m just gonna take Will to Mike’s so he can go trick or treating. I’ll meet you there!” He smiled and turned around to his own car.
“Guess it’s just us for a bit, doll.” Billy grinned and sped off, secretly excited to spend a bit more time alone with her. It’s not that he didn’t like Jonathan. He really did, more than he expected to. It’s just, he really liked her too.
“Don’t get so excited. Five minutes and then we’re leaving.”
He didn’t really think she would only stay 5 minutes. Honestly, he really wanted to see what she was like around other people. Was the special treatment (like sharing lunches and crying in the car) reserved for him? Or was she like this with everyone? He certainly treated her better than he did most people.
“Sure, princess.”

Christmas in Maine
Hawkeye Pierce goes to Crabapple Cove for Christmas, and stays with his sister-in-law Sarah Pierce and three Pierce niblngs - just as he does most years - but this year, he brought his deaf friend Francis.
I wrote this chapter intentionally to be a kind of self-contained Christmas story, entirely from Sarah's viewpoint.
Sarah looked after them, and laughed suddenly; Ben always made her feel as if any difficulty that arose was too small to worry about. If the kids weren't back in an hour, Ben would probably drive over to Levinetown and collect them. Ben came downstairs at a run and swooped out of the door: he waved at her to stay behind, and brought in two cases, a single overnight bag, and a cardboard carton, which turned out to be full of things for Christmas - candy for the children's stockings, boxes of common crackers and oyster crackers, packets of Lipton onion soup mix, tinned oysters, a store-bought fruit cake with snow-white sugar frosting, macaroons in a pretty box from Gilchrist's - Sarah picked that up and smiled at Ben. "I won't get to keep these once the children see them," she said.
"Oh, Francis got them just for you," Ben said unexpectedly. "We did some shopping in Boston on Friday evening, and I left him in Gilchrist's to stay warm. He got a fruit cake for all of us, and coffee, but he said these should be for just you, once the kids go back to Billy's." "Well, that was very nice of him," Sarah said, touched. Ben took the box of macaroons away from her and reached up and put them on top of one of the wall cupboards. "Unless Danny's turned into an actual giraffe, they should be out of the way there." "I'll get our cases up to my old room. Look, don't try to fix up a bed in the parlor," Ben added. "I'll get the old cot down from the attic and rig it up in my room. Francis can have that." "Oh no," Sarah exclaimed in dismay. "Really, that old thing - " It was a battered, ancient rig and one leg was constantly giving way. The mattress was flat and hard as a stale pancake. "Really, Ben, I've thought it through. The parlor sofa is quite comfortable - if he doesn't mind getting up quite early on Christmas morning." They no longer pretended the stockings were from Santa - even Benjy was too old for that now - but though Danny put on a weary face and said he supposed it was more fun for the younger ones if he played along, he still liked opening his stocking in front of the parlor fire. It was going to be a bit awkward to have a guest sleeping on the sofa that morning, but the old cot was desperately uncomfortable. "I suppose I could move Mary into my room and your friend could sleep in Mary's room," she said. "If he doesn't mind pink," she added. She trailed off: she knew Mary would hate it. Danny didn't mind giving up his room to Ben, and Benjy loved having his big brother sleeping in the lower bunk, but Mary would hate being told she had to sleep in Sarah's bed because a strange guest was sleeping in her room. "Francis hates pink," Ben said. "It'll be fine, Sarah. It's no worse than an army cot, and definitely better than putting him on the parlor sofa where anyone can just barge in and he won't be able to hear them." He picked up one of the cans of oysters and tapped it on the counter, meaningfully. "Canned oysters," he said, deeply, and grinned at her. "Ben, if you want to spend Christmas Eve gathering and shucking live oysters so we can make fresh oyster soup, you do that!" Sarah said, but she smiled. Ben complained every Christmas about bringing canned oysters when they lived less than a mile from the coast, but he never forgot them.

Can I request a League of villains x Quirkless back Alley Nurse fanfic? Romance with a character of your chosing? (Sorry if it's not enough detail I'm new to the whole making request thing)
Ugh, stop this was such a fun prompt. Ideas for Toga and Twice were the first to pop into my head, might revisit this if I get ideas for the others though.
Pairing: Jin Bubaigawara/Twice x Reader, Himiko Toga x Reader
Rating: PG (Hey look, I can write SFW too! xD)
CW: gn!reader, hurt/comfort, mentions of canon-typical violence
Tumblr media
Getting blood for transfusions wasn’t exactly straight forward for a clinic like your Father’s. It required a lot of black market sales from hospitals and dealings with brokers. It was one of the biggest logistical headaches for the business even without taking negotiations and market prices into account. In general your Dad preferred to cut out the middleman, as much as possible — to pull directly from donors.
Even unwilling ones.
So after All for One’s capture and the League was no longer able to pay for their visits (of which there were many) — your Dad worked out a little deal.
Treatment in exchange for donors. And as a little added bonus, you’d throw in a few blood bags that were no longer medically viable for their resident shapeshifter. That’s what you were pulling for now.
Down in the basement, Toga sat on a stack of crates, swinging her legs back and forth as you pulled a small box out of the walk-in freezer.
“You’re in luck,” you said, closing the door behind you with your hip, “This last month was slow, so we had more bags expire than usual.”
Toga squealed, jumping off the crate, “Lemme see, lemme see!”
You set the box down on a nearby table. Most of the bags had not only the blood type and collection date written on them — but a picture attached too. A small change you and your Dad had made to your cataloging once you started this deal.
You watched her sort through them excitedly, like a kid in a candy story. She was seriously cute when she got like this. It was one of the reasons you liked to be the one in charge of these transactions, instead of your Dad.
Well, that, and all of the sex you and Toga would have afterwards.
Was it a bad idea to get physically involved with a client? Absolutely. Was it an even worse idea for that client to be the stab-happy serial romantic of the League of Villains with a penchant for combining the two passions? Undoubtedly.
Was it a lot of fun though? Fuck yes it was.
“So what’s your type?”
You blinked, snapping out of your train of thought, “My blood type?”
“Nooo,” she laughed, holding up one of the bags and waving the picture in front of your face, “ I mean your type type!”
You cocked a brow, wondering for a moment if all that blood had finally gotten to her brain and made her forget all of your sexcpades over the last couple of months — many of which had taken place in this very basement.
“Well, considering the fact that we’ve been hooking up for, how long—”
Himiko waved you off, “No, no — besides me! Like if you could have one night with anyone, who would it be?”
“...this feels like a trap.”
“It’s noooot!” she whined.
You couldn’t help but laugh, “Why do you want to know so bad?”
“Well…” she drew the toe of her loafer around the ground, coy and sing-songy, “You know I can turn into anybody I bring in, right?”
“I am aware.” you leaned against the table, listening with amusement as to where this could go.
“Soooo, I was thinking I could bring in someone you like,” she said, mirroring your lean into the table, “That way you can play with someone new.”
Your brows furrowed, “Himiko, why do you think I want someone new?”
“Well, you’re okay with me loving so many people,” she slipped her hand across the table, lacing her fingers with yours, “It doesn’t really seem fair that you don’t get to do the same.”
“I mean, you know that’s my choice right? It’s not like I’m strictly monogamous, I’m just not interested in anyone else.”
She looked up at you with an amount of concern that quickly had you forgetting your teasing. While it was true that Toga wore her love on her sleeve, sadness and vulnerability were a rare sight. Most of the time it felt like that was because she just didn’t have any sadness to show. But as you got to know her, it was becoming more clear that she just never wanted to dwell on it. She wanted to live her life to the fullest.
And she wanted the same for you.
“Are you sure?”
You reached your freehand forward, cupping her cheek. She sighed into it, a little blush dusting across her face. For how bold she always was when declaring her feelings, she always got shy when it came to actually acting on them. It was pretty damn cute if you were being honest.
You smiled and slid your hand back behind her ear and pulled her into a kiss. She let out a little gasp against your mouth, her fingers tightening around your own. You started to rub little strokes along her jaw with your thumb, coaxing her mouth open as you deepened the kiss.
She had just started to knead against your tongue when you pulled away, just enough to rest your forehead against hers. Still too far for Toga though if her little whine was any indication.
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure.” you breathed.
Toga let out a little giggle before pushing back and catching your bottom lip between her teeth.

“You know, this isn’t what I thought you meant when you said you needed stitches.”
You were currently sitting on the end of the medical bed hard at work suturing…
…suturing a tear in Jin’s mask.
“You made it sound like it was an emergency.”
“It is! It’s no big deal— d-damn it!”
You looked back over your shoulder. Jin was currently sitting up at the top of the bed, legs pushed up to his chest and rocking back against the wall. He had a paper bag pulled over his head. Judging by the stains and torn handle, it was one that he’d pulled from the trash.
It wasn’t often that Jin asked you for help, not for himself anyway. He was a constant in the office, present every time a League member needed treatment — be it a bullet wound, amputated arm, or tetanus shot — Jin was always the one carrying or following them in. The only other member that even came close to as frequent was Shigaraki — the direct contact and source of payment for the League. But even he usually just went straight to your Dad to work out the logistics.
But Jin always stayed right in this room, at his friends’ bedside or — at the furthest — across the room making some dumb gag with the tongue depressors to try and lift their spirits. Usually the only one he could successfully amuse was Toga.
And you.
He never came in for his own wounds, and most of the time he actively hid the injuries that he did have — minor as they typically were. Any treatment would usually stem from you catching a spreading stain on his costume or a limp in his step as he carried somebody in and would then involve you maneuvering around to treat him while he stayed locked to the bedside.
Eventually, you started implementing a strip search policy for him every time he crossed the threshold of the office — no going near the triage area until you had checked every inch of him for injury. And well, you could only get up and personal with that rugged musculature of his so many times before one thing led to another.
So given his habit for self-sacrifice in combination with the intimacy you had developed with him, when today he actually called you, hyperventilating and begging for help — it had scared you half to death. And when he had actually shown up, shoving the torn mask frantically into your hands, you had been furious at him for giving you that scare.
But now, seeing him trying to self-soothe in that corner — seriously shaken but very much alive — you were begrudgingly relieved.
You gave each side of the mask a little tug, testing to make sure the stitchwork was solid. And of course it was.
“Good as new.” you grunted, tossing it back over your shoulder.
You could hear him shuffling fast behind you. The crackle of paper, the slip of fabric, the relieved sigh of “Whole again.” You just tried to focus on putting your supplies away. To keep your breath steady, your eyes dry.
You didn’t want to give him a hard time about how bad he scared you. You knew he couldn’t help it, that this was all part of the package deal that was Jin Bubaigawara. But you just couldn’t help the shake in your fingers that had finally taken over once you didn’t have a project to steady them on, the air of panic in your chest imagining what could’ve been.
What someday could be.
A pair of strong arms wrapped slowly around your shoulders. You tried half-heartedly to shrug them off, but they just tightened, pulling you back against Jin’s hard chest. The smell of tobacco and his body wash filled your senses, warmed your body. You could feel him press a soft, covered kiss to the back of your neck — an action that was just as much a comfort to him as it was supposed to be for you.
“I’m sorry…” he breathed, completely himself.
That did you in. You tried to sniff up the tears that were already falling before he could notice. But you could tell by the way he started burying his head into your nape that all it did was make him more aware.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. So sorry.” he choked out, over and over again.
You reached up to grasp Jin’s wrists, carefully unfolding his arms so that you could turn and face him. It was amazing how truly expressive he could be through that hokey piece of fabric. It was obvious that he was barely holding it together.
You smiled sadly, reaching up to run your thumb along the line of stitches running up his forehead — just a few inches off from the actual scar on his skin.
“This suits you.”
You could tell by the shift under his mask that his eyes had widened. He grabbed your hands tight between his own and pulled them tight to his mouth, just breathing you in. Trying to hold you together like you held him.
“Th-Thank you. That’s some shit craftsmanship!”

You waltz into the yellow keronian Lab holding a plate of curry.
“Kururu, what you working on? I got you food,”
The yellow keronian looked up from whatever machine he’s working on to take your plate of curry. After quickly eating the plate of curry, he let out a burp and said,
“That was terrible,”
You nodded your head,
“I know, thank you, will put rat poisoning in it next time,”
After spending a few year getting to know Kururu, you have understood that Kururu is a great person once you get past the fact that he’s a jackass.
You kneeled down next to him and poked his cheek asking again,
“So what machine are you working on this time? Turning people into animal? Time travel? Turn everyone to a furry?”
Kururu grabbed your finger and handed you a piece of candy.
“Eat this,”
You shrugged and popped it into your mouth.
I mean what can go wrong, it’s just a piece of candy.
With a kukuku, Kururu turned around and showed you how to worked around his lab.

A few day later, Kururu throw a machine at you.
You caught it before looking at him in confusion.
“Kukukuku, shoot it at me,”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, kukuku,”
You quickly aimed the machine at him,
“I always hear shoot me when you speak, but this is the first time you actually said it literally. Honestly I will never do it,”
With that you shoot the beam at him,
Suddenly in a blinding light, you closed your eyes. When you reopen them again, the yellow keronian wasn’t there anymore.
Instead a tall man with yellow hair and wearing a white lab coat was in front of you.
“What the f-“
The man squished your face and look down on you.
“This is certainly a new veiw, kukukuku,”
You blink your eyes slowly,
“Kururu?”
“Seems like you’re not as dense as I thought you were,”
You grabbed his hand,
“Wait what happen?!?!”
“It’s my new machine we can make everyone alive gun, it can turn any living organisms into human. Now for the last part, kukukuku….” With his signature laugh he twist his earphone, which emitted some sort of wave length,
The light in your eyes disappear as you were hypnotize by the wave length.
He caught you as you begin to fall onto the ground. With a laugh he kissed your forehead and you woke up.
You shook your head in confusion, you felt like you forgot something. You looked at the man in front of you smiling down at you.
“What happened, Kururu?”
He gently rubbed your neck, before leaning to your ears,
“We were in the middle of doing this, remember?” With that all of your clothing was gone in a second,
Hearing this, your face flushed. But didn’t stopped him, sure he look different but it’s Kururu, you love him. You can trust him…right?
You leaned into his kiss as his hand wandered down your body.
You let out a breathy moan as you felt his long finger slipped into you, pumping you in and out. Stretching and preparing you for the onslaught.
Kururu wrapped his mouth around your chest, swirling his tongue around your nipple, extracting moan from your mouth as you looked at him full of love.
Once he has deemed you ready, after you came on his hand twice. He lift a shaking leg and put it on his shoulder before aligning his member at your hole.
That was when you first saw it, his member was large, a shade of deep purple, with spiked and ridges around it.
You shuddered, you were scared. It’s not gonna fit and it’s gonna hurt. But you love him, he’s gonna take care of you…somethings wrong with you…
Just as a thought was beginning to take place, it was quickly destroyed as Kururu pushed his members into you. You bite down on his shoulder, trying to keep in the pain as his member plowed through you.
Hitting all the spot inside you, bringing pain and pleasure as the inhuman shaft fucked into you.
You hold on to him desperately, as Kururu fucked you on the wall.
“You look so pretty, getting fucked on my cock, kukuku,” he reached back to pushed a button, “You should see it for yourself,”
Suddenly you were looking at a bunch of mirror. Each showing you getting fucked from different angles. You can see your fold greedily taking in Kururu’s member after each thrust and how your breast bounce.
You let out a loud moan as you came, when you regain your consciousness you closed your eye not wanting to see how lewd you were, with juice dripping out of your fold.
You let out a sound of pain as you felt a slapped on your ass,
“Don’t close your eyes now, I prepared this just for you,”
With that you opened your eye, seeing the entire process of you being fucked into oblivion. After all you love him, if he wanted you to see him fucked you silly, you will do it.
During some point you blacked out, when you reawaken again you was sitting on his lap as he worked, his glasses seemingly shattered.
You were gonna move, when you felt his member still inside you.
“Don’t move, I don’t feel like fucking my cum into you again,”
With a blush you stopped moving and lean back.
You closed your eyes as you thought of the chance of being pregnant. After all you guys will be such a loving family.
