This one is post!vat7k and is when both Varian and Hugo stay in the Corona castle bc like, Var works there.

I hc that Eugene and Rapunzel leave Varian in charge of the Kingdom when they leave for stuff (after they take over the throne and Raps parents step down or die or idk) bc Rapunzel makes it a point to call Varian the "*most trusted* royal engineer".

So I imagine one time when Var is left in charge he's kinda overwhelmed with all that work so Hygo helps him, and due to his background of growing up poor Hugo actually has some very good ideas on how to improve stuff in the Kingdom!

Fast forward to NewDream returning and Varian tells them about it / puts in a food word for Hugo.

One thing leads to another and Hugo eventually is the new royal advisor (this is my excuse to get rid of Nigel /hj) and I just feel he would be very good at that bc problem solving kinda comes with his street smarts and logical thinking + bc he has first hand experience being a poor orphan he probably would know good ways to help the poor kids in Corona not start a life of crime (seeing as its canon in tts that many thieves are just poor orphans who had no other options growing up)

Omg this is so cool. Imagine one day Hugo and Varian are working on the lab then Raps just kinda kicks the door down and offers Hugo the job.

Tangled start

warnings- long but cute

a/n- feel free to skip some of the dialogue, it’s mostly the Tangled script, just Tom and Y/N. Don’t worry, not the full movie

You and Tom were in the recording studio, it was the first day and you were going to do voiceovers and songs.

You were so excited to sing with Tom. Not just at home or karaoke. Tom didn’t give himself enough credit when it came to singing.

“Okay,” the director called from the other side of the glass with headphones on, knocking you out of your thoughts, as you and Tom stood up. “Okay, Tom how about you start with your opening monologue then we’ll go from there.”

“Cool.” Tom smiled, walking to the microphone, as you sat back down, ready to watch him.

“Ready when you are,” the sound guy said.

“This is the story of how I died,” Tom started in his American accent. You couldn’t help but smile as you watched him. “Don’t worry, this is actually a very fun story. And the truth is, it’s not even mine. This is the story of a girl named Repunzal. And it starts, with the sun.

Now once upon a time, a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens. And from this small drop of sun grew a magic, golden, flower. It had the ability to heal the sick, and injured. Oh, you see that old woman over there? You might want to remember her. She’s kind of important. Well, centuries passed and a hop skip and a boat ride away there grew a kingdom. The kingdom was ruled by a beloved king and queen. And the queen, well she was about to have a baby, and she got sick, really sick. She was running out of time. And that’s when people usually start looking for a medical. Or in this case, a magic golden flower. Ahh, I told you she’d be important. You see, instead of sharing the Sun’s gift, this women, Mother Gothel, hoarded its healing power and used it to keep herself young for hundreds of years. And all she had to do was sing a special song.

All right, you got the gist. She sings, she turns young. Creepy, right?

The magic of the golden flower heals the queen. A healthy baby girl, a princess was born,” Tom explained looking at you, which made you smile even more. “With beautiful golden hair. I’ll give you a hint. That’s Repunzal. To celebrate her birth, the King and Queen lunched a flying lantern into the sky. For that one moment, everything was perfect. And then, that moment ended.

Gothel broke into the castle and stole the child. And just like that…gone. The Kingdom searched and searched, but they could not find the princess. For deep within the forest, in a hidden tower, Gothle raised the child as her own.

Gothel had found her new magic flower. But this time she was determined to keep it hidden.

Butt the walls of that tower could not hide everything. Each year, on her birthday, the king and queen released thousands of lanterns into the sky in hope that one day, their lost princess would return.”

“Cut!”

“Tommy, that was amazing!” You smiled, getting up to walk to him.

“Thank you my love,” he smiled, kissing your cheek as you hugged him.

“It was so beautiful, my very own Flynn Rider.” You smiled, kissing his lips.

“Okay, and now for the final monologue, Y/N, you’re in this too.”

“Okay,” you smiled, as you and Tom walked over to the mic.

“Well,” Tom started in his American accent. “You could imagine what happens next. The kingdom rejoiced. The lost princess had returned. The party lasted an entire week. And, honestly, I don’t remember much of it. Dreams came true all over the place. That guy went on to become the most famous concert pianist in the world. And that guy? Well he eventually found someone to love. As for this guy, well, I assume he’s happy. He’s never told me otherwise. Thanks to Maximus, crime in the kingdom disappeared almost over night. As did most of the apples. Pascal, never changed. At last Rapunzal was home, and she finally had a family. She was a Princess worth waiting for,” Tom smiled, wrapping an arm around your waist, making you smile. “But above all, she lead her kingdom with all the grace and wisdom that her parents did before her. And as for me, well. I started to go by Eugene again. Stopped thieving, basically turned it all around. But I know what the big question is; did Rapunzel and I ever get married? Well I’m please to tell you. After years, and years of asking, and asking, and asking. I finally said yes.”

“Eugene,” You let out, rolling your eyes.

“All right,” Tom cut in, tickling your rib. “I asked her.”

“And we’re living happily ever after,” you smiled, looking up at him, so see his baby blue eyes looking at you.

“Yes we are.” Tom said, leaning down to give you a kiss.

“And cut!” The director yelled. “Great job!”

You and Tom pulled away from each other and took to your headset. You opened the door and walked out and were met by Lady running up to you both.

Her little tail was wagging, and her tongue was out, as she jumped up on yours and Tom’s legs.

“Hi, darling,” Tom smiled, picking her up. Lady barked and licked his face.

“Hi, my sweet girl,” you smiled, kissing her, and rubbing your face against hers.

Note

For the Descendants kids with horrible and trashy names, how would you name them? From books and movies.

So I'll just go ahead and give how I changed each name for My Canon Descendants AU, to make them feel more like their own character/fit better with the og movies time periods/cultures. I didn't give them all unique names as the point of the project was to translate the Descendants kids into the actual movies, not make full OCs, (though I did end up making a few of those anyway xD) but I tried to at least adjust them.

Mal--Mallow (to go with the Nature name theme the Three Good Fairies had going on with their own names/Briar Rose)

Audrey I kept as it was actually a Medieval name!

Evie-- Eva, it's a pretty easy fix to more period accurate/Germanic sounding

Doug -- Doleful, to fit better with the Dwarfs Attribute names, plus he seemed kinda down in the first movie so the meaning felt like it fit

Carlos I kept because honestly I felt like it could fit in universe if Cruella's husband was a Spanish man, which he conceivabley could be

Jay--Jaamil, and no not because of Twisted Wonderland that just happened by accident xD

They orginally had Aladdin's deleted sin be named Aziz but there was already an Aladdin character named that in the TV show who was a villain so I changed it to Ahmed, like one of the other Arabian Nights heroes

Ben--I changed from Benjamin to Benedict as that was more French/period appropriate

Honestly I could 100% see Gaston naming his sons after himself so I kept Gastons 1 and 2 but I changed Gil to Gilbert (French pronunciation of course)

Lonnie...oh Lonnie. I changed her name to Chi, as with her patronymic of Li she would be Li Chi, which sounded similar to Lonnie but would actually be Chinese and is the name of a girl in a Chinese legend who slays a dragon, which was what I based her hypothetical movie plot on

Chad I changed to Charles, easy enough. Much more elegant and formal

Jane I just changed to Janet to make it a little fancier/Frenchier as well xD

Dizzy I changed to Daisy (though I suppose since she's French based, it really should be Marguerite...eh Daisy can be the nickname)

Uma I kept cuz honestly its a good name and her song is a banger 👌

Harry is fine, good pirate name, short for Henry, which also works. Harriet was fine too, just made her and Harry twins and made CJ go by her first name only of Calista.

Honestly with a pirate dad named Smee Squeeky and Squirmy also work, though they're definitely nicknames.

Celia works fine, it fits with the time/culture of 1920s New Orleans, though I did change Freddie to Frederique.

Getting into some book characters now:

Artie I changed to Amhar, a lesser known son of Arthur (could have done Mordred but as the kid was meant to be heroic I decided to go with Amhar, plus it started with A x)

Mad Maddy honestly isn't a bad name, but I did change it to Matilda to be a bit more Medieval sounding, plus linked her to Matilda of the Night, a Medieval witch legend.

(And apparently there's gonna be a son of Morgana Le Fay in the new movie named... Morgie. My gosh. Well we'll change that right back to Yvain. Her actual son, no she's not Mordred's mother no matter what the movies try to tell you she's his aunt and I will die on this pedantic hill)

Hadie I instantly changed to Zagreus. He's the literal son of Hades and goodness its such a better name. Same with changing Herkie to Hyllus. Also an actual son of Hercules and doesn't sound like a euphemism for throwing up.

Allie I changed to Mary Jean after the Real Alice's grandaughter, and when I made my Queen of Hearts Kid D4 hadn't been announced yet so I named her Aceline (a pun on Ace of Hearts)

Ruby and Anxelin weren't terrible names so I kept them, just made Anxelin a Dark Kingdom name xD (and apparently they're giving Rapunzel a third daughter in the new movie? Her name is just Zellie though...so I think I'll just keep these two. Zellie could definitely work as being short for Anxelin and hey, Rapunzel had twins in the actual fairytale so two just works)

Wrapping it up:

Claudine isnt too bad and fits the time period but I changed her parent from Frollo to his brother Jehan cuz that man should never ever get to be with any woman.

Clay Clayton I changed to Cecil after the actual Clayton character in the books who wasn't that bad of a guy.

Yzla works fine as a name for Yzma's daughter. I just changed Zevon to Yzon to match better and not sound so much like he escaped the 23rd century

Ginny Gothel I just lengthened out to Ginevra to sound more fantastical

I didn't actually do anything for Pocahontas as it always kinda controversial to touch. But if I did I'd of course just make her descendant her actual son Thomas Rolfe and apparently they gave Ratcliffe a son named Rick? So...we'll change his name to Richard or--well one sec let me see if Actual Historical Governor Ratcliffe had any kids.

OK! Looks like he didn't but he did die horribly. My Gosh.

Jyestha And Their Golden Toned Hair

I have noticed a tendency to have golden toned hair in Jyestha.Even if they have blonde hair there is still a golden tone to their hair and they tend to like to either straighten their gorgeous golden toned hair or give it a fluffy look. The lovely Rapunzal is connected to this nakshatra and in it’s physiognomy it manifests with them possessing gorgeous thick , long, golden toned hair.

p.s even if they don’t have necessarily have golden toned hair they will have thick long hair or long hair. And also a desire to dye their hair in golden

I had a spicynoodles idea last night

It's basically just them in Tangled

LBD is Mother Gothal obvi, MK is Rapunzal and Red Son is Flynn.

Maybe Mei can be Pascal but a tiny dragon instead? Or she's Maximas but badass horse dragon.

King and Queen(I don't think they have names) can is Shadowpeach.

Suggestion from @frikijedai, Freenoodles run the ugly duckling bar place, and I really like that.

I think it also works with Red Son as Rapunzal and MK as Flynn but Red Son doesn't seem like the type to take LBD's bs as much. He does have the hair for it tho

Important Update!

I'm going with the Red Son as Rapunzal version, @py-dreamer had some really good ideas + I get to draw Red Son with really long, fluffy hair.

MK works good as Flynn because he can fit Flynn's story pretty well, an orphan inspired by a popular character in a story he told all the other kids and makes a new image for himself based on that hero.

Mei is a smol dragon that is constantly teasing the boys, she's kinda like the dragon from the Barbie Rapunzal movie, maybe she can turn into a humanoid form but prefers or is stuck in ity bity dragon form.

LBD definitely knows about Mei here but since she's very smol and seemingly insignificant, LBD doesn't give a shit about her, + she keeps Red Son from bugging her too much.

Freenoodles still run the ugly duckling tavern/restaurant thing like in the suggestion from @frikijedai.

The Mayor is still LBD's assistant, I thought about him being the small old man from the tavern but nah.

This isn't strictly sticking to the Tangled story, it's more Tangled + fairytale inspired AU, it has the same major plot points but the details are a bit different.

Red Son's power does not come from his hair, he has the power in him. His hair will glow and hest up when he says the incantation, and he can send the fire through it + it catches fire when he gets too emotional. So his hair is a better weapon cause it can burn people. If it gets cut its very flammable.

MK is still a monkey.

The more I work on this the less it sticks to the Tangled story

Twins twins twins

I put the O'Hair twins together because I just have less thoughts about each of them. Speaking of-

These redesigns come with a bit of a rewrite that I'll make a post for one day because I'm way too invested in the fact that this show had so much POTENTIAL DAMMIT

But the relevant thing for Poppy is the definition of a rebel. I scrapped Roybel altogether. The Rebel/Royal divide doesn't seem to actually impede friendships in most of the show, and Poppy's values all align with being a rebel. So here's my take-

A Royal is anyone who fundamentally believes that following a destiny is the moral obligation of any person who has one, and that denying that will lead to destruction, and harm other people in their story.

A Rebel is anyone who supports the idea that anyone should be able to choose whether or not they follow their destiny, and that it is morally bankrupt to force people into a life they don't want.

By that definition, both twins are rebels, because Holly supports Poppy in her decision to abandon her destiny. (Even though I forgot to put the rebel symbol with Holly) Anyways! Design things!

-For Holly I went for a ballet/cottagecore look, to balance out Poppy's more alternative look. I gave her more of a nature motif and some lettuce leaf patterns as a nod to Rapunzs name. Overall very pink, very rosy, very soft. I also changed her pet. It's originally a lion cub that magically never grows up, which is cute, but I really wanted an animal that could help her with her hair. So, I changed Clipper to a dove. He flies around and helps with Holly's hair Cinderella Style!

-For Poppy I went super alternative. Holly and Poppy are both stylists, but they go into different fields. Holly is good at classical hairstyles and decor, Poppy is very experimental with hair and fashion. Dyes, piercings, hand-stitched clothing, jewelry, the works. I also HAD to include Barber, she's so cute, I love her so much. Yes Barber helps with Poppy's ridiculously complex dye jobs.

6 : 23 am Monday, August 10th.

I woke up to light kisses on my neck moving down to my shoulder, His arms wrapped around my waist using it to hold me close to him. He must have snuck in after Rapunzel went to bed last night. ‘He must up stayed up all night waiting..’ I thought shifting a little and placing my hands on his arms. I felt him smile as he kissed the bare skin of my back.

“Morning..” he whispers against my skin, his stubble softly scratching my skin. “good morning” I hummed, he nuzzles his face in my neck his stubble scratching but oddly tickling me too. “Did you sleep well dear?” I whispered quietly weary of waking Rapunzel upstairs. Eugene nodded his head still sleepy.

I roll over expecting to see him awake but was greeted by him either fake sleeping or dozed off again. “Eugene, You don’t get to wake me up and then go back to sleep” I whispered pressing my lips to his. Eugene kisses me before sitting up pulling me with him. I sit on his lap his left hand supporting my back, and his right hand on my upper left thigh. His soft lips connected to mine. His firm grip held onto me.

He’d never admit it but, I’d say he’s in love. I know I am. He breaks the kiss and looks up at me, Staring into my E/C eyes. I smile softly moving a strand of his chocolate brown hair away from his eyes, his gorgeous brown eyes. The eyes I long to stare into on a rainy day.

Eugene goes to kiss me again but before he could, Noise from upstairs above us, followed by giggling and shushing of Rapunzal to Pascal. I let out a sigh, This was my least favorite part. Eugene kisses me again before getting up and heading to the door. “Coffee?” He asks slipping a pair of slippers on. I nodded pulling the covers over me. “with lots of sugar” He adds as he opens the door leaving my room.
