in terms of the state of the server, the fandom needs to stop catastrophizing. Please. The fandom needs to stop looking at theories, at misinformation, at anything that isn't concrete and 100% factual, and needs to stop getting mad at these ideas that aren't even fully in fruition. It's worse for the self and it's worse for the community. We cannot keep doing this.
"But this CC left the server after completing their lore--" Did this CC explicitly say that they are done with the server and are never coming back? And not just referring to their character, but they themselves as a content creator? If not, then this just isn't true until absolute confirmation is provided.
"I'm so mad about this reset/that they're just introducing new CC's for this event--" Do we know for a fact that it is a reset? Do we know for a fact that this event will introduce new CC's? Have we been explicitly told what is going to happen on Friday? If not, then the fandom needs to stop getting angry in the present about a potential future that may or may not be true, about theories that are being shared among the fandom, about theories that are only just that right now.
Regardless of whatever praise or criticism or any other feelings one may have about qsmp at this moment, please make sure that the information you are going off of is based on nothing but facts. If this limbo we're dangling in is fucking with you as much as it is, then please, step away and take a mental break until more information is provided and we are given more clarity. Otherwise, you're just spiraling within a space that has no way to help you or making things better, and you and your time and your health deserve better.

Some people aren't really into QSMP anymore and just become doom posting and being negative about this whole thing
I won't name a specific user (it starts with a p), but her posts are nothing but negativity and doomposting. She acts like she knows everything😭 not just herself but many other people as well. She even gets mad at the admins and pressures them.
I'm glad you are one of those people, among many, who are positive and still have hope for this server. I thought I was the only one tbh 😅
Honestly, if the doom posting starts getting to you there’s no shame in blocking users. Obviously there’s a difference between talking about the facts and being outright negative, but some people really don’t know when to shut up lol lol

i just wanted to say thanks to you and the very few other people who are being rational and positive about the qsmp and not doomposting based on pure speculation and rumors. honestly i cannot wait for whatever is going to happen on the 24th. this is bitchy of me to say but i hope it will finally clear out the remaining annoying/toxic people who continue to hang around the fandom just to be negative and doompost.
Ofccc. Honestly, the whole point of qsmp is for it to be fun. When most people stop enjoying something, they usually leave quietly. They don’t make entire posts about how hopeless it is to continue enjoying it. I don’t care how the project ends or if the hype fizzles out, because in the end it was still a really cool idea. I’m glad there’s still some positivity left, especially when a whole lot of the negativity is coming from people who have little to no info on what’s actually going on, or are jumping to massive conclusions.

I wanna make a bold claim: QSMP's greatest innovation as an international server wasn't the live translation, nor the cultural events, nor the multilingual eggs and NPCs.
It was fofoca.
The other tools in the translation toolkit were all crucial, and maybe novel for a Minecraft SMP, but they're not quite novel in the larger streaming space. But the gossip. The fofoca was something truly incredible.
Cause translations are always gonna have gaps. Automatic translations have many errors. Meticulous human-made subtitles can be misread by audience members who are trying to split focus between the subtitles and the rest of the visuals. And even if dialogue is completely dubbed over in another language, cultural context can be missed.
This all sets up a lot of hurdles for viewers who want to watch a streamer whose language they don't know. It's so easy for vital bits of information to bounce off the language barrier, and cause a viewer to lose the plot. And good luck figuring out what you missed from chat or wikis.
But on QSMP there was a glorious fallback for any viewer confusion, and that fallback was fofoca. At its peak, almost every QSMP stream involved one interlude where some other nosey islander would show up and pester the streamer for gossip. And much of the time, these gossip sessions were multilingual. This meant that viewers got regular summaries of important events that were actively tailored to be understandable across languages. Confusing or mistranslated concepts had immediate feedback, allowing for immediate clarification. And none of it felt like a forced concession to international viewers, because it happened in character.
Fofoca wasn't just a running joke, Fofoca was glue that kept the server together during quite a wild year.
