PUT SOME RESPECT ON HER NAME… maka did not cement herself as one of the most iconic shounen protagonists of the 2000s for you to be acting like this. Literally every time I draw (with my finger and my phone like a moron) I snap out of the hyper focus & im like yeowch ow fuck wow this really makes my immune system go “oh yeah I forgot about the finger joints kill them kill them now” man I should probably start doing things to mitigate that! & then I never do.

Not sure what I’d call the style, it’s like a mix of 1950s-60s Googie kitsch, some Y2K pieces by Inflate & Stefano Giovannoni, and the ’Wacky PoMo’ aesthetic. Memphis-esque patterns (reminds me of Sottsass’s 'Bacterio’). I think Memphis took some inspiration from the kitschy 1950s formica/Googie stuff, so kinda ties together here.

For the entire week I’ve been telling my sister hey I have an important interview Thursday at 3:30 it’s very important to me hey I’m letting you know this. It’s Thursday at 3:30. The 30th. This 30th of may which happens to be a Thursday in the year 2024. at 3:30. Please don’t disrupt me. Even cancelling plans the night before because the interview date changed suddenly. & then she brings her girlfriend over and is like btw I need to be in here at 2:30 so she can call her doctor. Girl please I want this job I’m already screaming crying throwing up shaking like a small dog can we not do this.

Crammed together like heaps of flesh in tents that feel like scorching ovens, our days have regressed to a more degraded version of those of the earliest humans. From morning till night, we search for the same things Abel and Cain sought to survive: water, food, and fire. We endure long hours in queues to get a meager amount of water, and the food consists of old, low-quality canned goods. We sleep and wake to the sounds of savage airplanes, unsure of where they will strike next or who among us will be turned into scattered remains. Here in Gaza, we are living the worst existence humanity has known since its very beginning, You are our only hope for escaping Gaza and its oppression.
