Round 3 Match 4
Prison duo - Centross and Icarus(queer platonic relationship)
Wet Bird - Ven and Icarus(romantic relationship)
Propaganda under the cut
Propaganda:
-Prison Duo(qpr)
They're tragic besties who deserve to cuddle.
something something they should hold hands something something maybe kiss even something something I think they deserve to be so so soft and gently something something
-Wet Bird(r)
blorbos. they're so. I hold them so gently. they care so much about each other even if they'll never ever admit that to anyone's face. also because wet birds is such a funny ship name and clearly the best. (/hj /silly)
They're simply perfect

You, a fool, when characters state different or contradictory things about backstory events or how the world works: This is a plot hole!
Me, wise, enlightened: Not so, neophyte. Have you considered all the exhaustive possibilities in which one of these characters simply has no idea what they are talking about, or better yet, is a fucking liar?

of the belief that, yes, prison duo absolutely kissed about it - but for whatever gods forsaken reason both of them decided not to properly put a name (be it qpr, romantic, etc) to it; so Icarus leaves and. It isn't until they come back home actual decades later that they properly put a name to it - but everyone already thought they *had* put a name to it before that when someone - Rae. Rae would be the first to find out - first finds out it goes like "...I thought the two of you were already together?? Violet I have *seen* you kiss my brother, what the fuck-"

ok I know absolutely nothing about laptops and computers and stuff like that, but I’m gonna be getting a laptop for the first time this summer to use for college, does anyone have recommendations on what to look for? It would be mostly for schoolwork but I’d also like to have a couple of games on it, nothing massive though.

Like my last lil Bound ramble, spoilers for "Broken Trinkets" / "Fallen Feathers") with Rune and Vast on 5/29/24!
And it's Rune's turn!
Rune is so passionate about his works. They fix all their things and make new things. And he loves Vast. Vast, his love, his first partner.
And one fun thing about that fact is that it doesn't change.
Sure, the form of love may change. But they still care about Vast, even at the end of this lore stream. He still wishes Vast was there to comfort him. But Vast can't be, because she is the source of his despair. And they're dangerous.
Rune starts out excited. He's almost blinded by excitement and that sort of wanderlust. We see this excitement appear every time he makes something successful- that thrill of doing something and doing it right. Making something that can help himself or especially others. Rune, through and through, is an inventor and a friend to most.
That passion is one of the things that drew Vast in, it's one of the things Vast loves about Rune.
But that passion got closer and closer to the thing Vast didn't want Rune to know about, and panic ensued. And Vast broke the Chronometer.
And Rune is shocked. Confused. Panicked. Hurt. You can hear that in the first thing that Rune says- "Vast, what the fuck?"
Rune called Vast "Love" literally like twenty seconds before. He was excited! they were close! And he wanted to share that achievement with Vast. Because he loves Vast. He wanted to share that joy with his love. But Vast shattered that.
The chronometer was something Rune had been working on for, as he says, weeks. And it was important to him. Vast tries to defend herself, stuttering through faulty explanations. But none of them make sense. So Vast cracks.
The misunderstanding of maybe-breaking-up happens, then Vast leads him to the obelisk. This interaction of trust is so important though. Despite Vast's outburst, Rune is still willing to listen. To trust.
But he's not willing to trust an Avicane. And that's exactly what Vast is. One of the monsters of the stories, the ones who have hurt his family so much. There's a battle in his brain. He's willing to believe Vast if Vast just says that they aren't and Avicane.
But Vast isn't going to lie anymore.
And Rune sends him away, ignoring Vast's explanation, Vast's "I love you". Vast's clear adoration of what Rune is in his brain. Perfect. But Rune can't look at him the same. Wondering how much blood is on her hands. Vast's solution goes right past them because they're so focused on the horror of this situation. Of loving a monster of the tales his family told.
He basically kicks himself for it. Then he goes home. And he pets Gizmo. And he goes back into his ruined workshop. And he sits on the fractured pieces of his chair, not daring to go into the nest. And he laments.
And thats where the lore ends.
Rune is struggling with that slap in the face of Vast being an Avicane. of Vast being a murderer. But also with the fact that in the end, he still cares. for some stupid reason, he still cares about the avian.
and boy does all of this hurt.

Hi i want to ramble about the recent bound lore (5/29) (Rune and Vast) so beware if you haven't seen that!
SO! Lets talk about Vast
Vast cares so much about Rune. In a little bit of an obsessive way, though that language of "my treasure" is generally playing off the fact that Vast is a magpie (said by Heyhay themselves). But overall, they care.
There is a bit of a divide here in the focus of Vast and Rune. Vast cares about Rune and his relationship with Rune. When Rune got sploded, she was far more concerned with Rune than the Chronometer. Rune, after recovering just a bit from being exploded, was far more focused on the invention rather than himself. (After all, he's probably used to getting hurt at this point)
As they set off on their journey, Vast watches very closely. They become more nervous as the two get closer to the obelisk, the magpies also doing so, especially when Rune refuses to go back. The focus here has shifted- not just to caring about Rune, but fearing for her and Rune's relationship. He can't know about the Obelisk. It's not fixed. He can't know, because deep down, he's afraid Rune will figure it out. Figure out he's an Avicane. See him for the monster that he is.
So she freaks out. Rune won't listen, and he panics. He smacks the chronometer out of Rune's hand, causing it to break. And this, my friends, is what I see as a "point of no return". Because there's no way to salvage this situation anymore. Even without Rune knowing that they're an Avicane, she's already made herself look monstrous.
And of course he has to explain! So with the encouragement of the magpies, he shows Rune the obelisk. And here's where we get our second "point-of-no-return". The inventor finds out his love is an Avicane.
This shatters the trust between the two. After all, all that trust was built on lies. But who tells the man he loves that he's killed people? Who can look their love in the face and confess that they're more monstrous than any warden or beast they could ever encounter? Who goes to their love and confesses their horrendous deeds when you know no one could ever love someone as monstrous as you?
And then Rune asks him to leave. Despite his pleading and explanation that he can fix it without hurting people, Rune asks him to leave. And of course he does. Rune is too wrapped up in the murderous tales of the Avicane that this solution that Vast is offering is practically ignored. Because he's still taking magic. He has still hurt people. He's still dangerous.
And Vast runs. He leaves, he flies back home and they pace on his porch and spirals. He's lost his love, his treasure. She rips the pages out of her book because despite everything she still wants to be good. He doesn't want to be the monster that he sees himself as, that he saw reflected back to him in Rune's horrified eyes. He's had his life flipped upside down and all it's gotten him is heartbreak the revelation that he's a monster. A brutish beast of the skies who does nothing but lie.
And monsters' can't be loved. Monsters don't get to love. All monsters do is hurt.
But he'll try to be less of one. They'll hide his claws and do what's right, then leave. Then he'll leave it all behind. Rune and Sylph and all those good memories. Because surely they won't want a monster. And she's got a job to do.
But how can she keep doing her job like this? When faced with the revelation that he's a monster raised by monsters? How can he keep living like that? What can he do? What is there to do?
Gonna do Rune in another post because this is so long- thanks for reading!

are there any details about Kyr and his story that you haven’t been able to talk about yet? He’s such a neat character I want to know more about him :D
I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT KYR
Mostly his part after appearing in Ulysses’ finale. Kyr was designed as a group effort between Heyhay, Ocie, Metta and I as a one off character to be a through-line in the Cydonia stream, that we could follow between temples, so his story in the temples is very much collaborative and intentionally vague, up until the point of being sent to find Ulysses.
I think Kyr tried to come back to the temple after he couldn’t find Ulysses, and found it after everyone had been murdered by the facility guards. When the resets happened and his memories started to erode as Fable messed with history, his main memory was of searching for Ulysses, and that occupied most of his time in the resets. I like to think he was maybe tracing Ulysses movements, and interviewing/threatening the crews he worked with for information.
Post-finding Ulysses, I think they became very close. He became somewhat of a nephew to Ulysses, and I think he accompanied Ulysses on a lot of his journeys, which is how they ended up finding other Telchin.
Specifically, he found his future wife, too. The blue and green Telchin he’s waving to in the photo in Ulysses epilogue. Her name is Penelope (she/they), and they fell in love slowly, as they helped to build the permanent town which would become the Telchin Settlement. She’s a healer, focusing on medicine and alchemy. And together they are the parents of the first Telchin child born post-war! Edaline Circe Cydonia (named after both of their mothers). I think Edaline (or Eda) is probably a year or two younger than Vaeh, timeline wise.
Kyr lives in the Telchin Settlement (wherever that is) for the most part, but makes regular trips to visit Ulysses back in Lodestar Grove (when Ulysses is actually there). I think his penchant for telling stories isn’t quite as good, but he has an excellent memory. Which also extents to muscle-memory. He’s an incredible fighter, particularly in short-distance ranged combat (throwing tridents, and archery specifically) and an extremely competent swimmer.
Post-Ulysses’ death, I think Kyr does his best to keep his memory alive. I think maybe even with Rae’s help, he sets up and exhibition piece to him, in the museum, so that future generations can learn about the work he did. And I think he and his family take regular trips to Elysium to visit Ulysses, and Kyr’s mother too. I think she’d be very proud of all her son was able to accomplish, after escaping the temple.

just. the whole idea of Midas having chronic pain, and I'd like to go a step further and say headaches are probably pretty common after all the decay stuff to, and they're just having a really shitty fucking day. They're curled up all small in their little nest (moth gets nest as a treat), constantly tossing and turning cause they *hurt* and no way they lay feels comfortable - and Malitae is off doing something cause godly duties and all, so they're just alone. (Mi', despite having a comm, refuses to interrupt duties like that - regardless of how much pain they're in.) And when Mal' finally gets back and finds them like that, he first gets them some potions cause they help just a little, before promptly curling up beside them and letting them cry and curl up into her - comforting them all the way.

*slides paper across the table* I offer, Midas with chronic pain after all the decay and stuff - it may be gone and mostly off of them, but it was *killing them,* and the effects of that *would not* be small.
