Oh you guys want us all to SUFFER suffer😔 I combined these 2 requests, and I hope you don’t mind, nonnies!! It’s my longest SMAU so far, but I really wanted to do it justice. Insecurity is a very common problem we fall victim to, and sometimes when we start comparing ourselves to others, we get stuck in this endless loop of wanting to pull away, even though our heart wants us to stay with the people we adore. Given just how amazing all 3 LNDS men are, I can definitely understand how insecurity might even push their lover to try and break up with them. It’s a complex thing, and I hope I portrayed just how hard it is to battle your low self-esteem while in a relationship with someone you admire so much. My finals are done and this semester officially ended. I'm an incoming 5th year Dentistry Student now, and about to have patients and comprehensive cases. Periodontics exams were relatively easy, surprisingly. Anesthesiology exams fucked my brain up because my professor literally mixed everything up about the injection techniques about their areas of insertion, the path of insertion, landmarks, and such, and we have to match them up. That was hell. It was confusing.

Endodontics practical exams was time pressured since we were tasked to obturate a root canal in an hour, plus you can't talk with anyone during exams, or glance their way or you'll get deduction. Prosthodontics was fun, setting up the complete denture artificial teeth and festooning, though, it was also stressful since it was time pressured (in their defense, they said it was a practice for board exams).

I'm practically geeking out because it's a bit rare to see someone taking up Dentistry as well. I hope your exams are doing well, and I hope you're doing well, as well.

Oh nonnie, geek out as much as you want!! The dentistry student experience is… definitely something (beating the college board up with a stick in my head rn🙏🏽)

Our curricula are divided a little differently I see. We start working on patients during our 3rd/4th year onwards, since we’ve got one of the biggest dental hospitals in the entire region. It’s almost-free healthcare, so I’m honestly happy to be doing something for the community.

I’m so happy that your Perio exam was all good!! Compared to Endo (which has an INSANE time limit, considering that we have to obturate RCs in less than 25 minutes), it’s honestly a whole lot better in my opinion. And GOD, how I LOATHE matching exams, they’re too confusing and the answers are always too similar. We don’t get to take anesthesiology as a separate subject, but we take it scattered all over different subjects (like head & neck anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology) and then we’re good to go.

I actually really liked that Prosthodontics exam you mentioned!! Setting up teeth’s my favorite part cause it turns out SO aesthetically pleasing in the end. We did both arches within 1 hr 30 min, which was actually quite a lot of time, considering that they normally used to give 45 min-1hr long exams.

I’m just happy to hear that you’re done with all those and can finally rest up. It’s pretty exhausting, having to juggle both theoretical and practical exams, but you’ve already made it!! I’m proud of you🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

I’m currently studying for my upcoming Conservative exam, and it’s HELL… because why the fuck do I have to study 500 pages of material…? I’m drained from just staring at the pages all day long😭😭😭

Damn… didn’t expect this silly poll of all things to stir up this much controversy😭😭😭 I like seeing everyone’s takes though!! I’ve got massive, insanely in-depth analyses about all 3 options, but I don’t know if I’ll have enough time to write them though… let’s just say this summary:

One’s too terrified to risk it and get smitten by a merciless and vengeful god that’s eager to tear them apart (so it’s not for a lack of wanting to, but rather a crippling fear after he’s already toed the line too much), one’s traumatized by the idea of marriage and associates it with unbalanced power dynamics and eventual tragedy (though it’s not exactly his fault, is it?), and one fled on an almost-suicidal mission to save his beloved without officially committing and thus sees no difference at all (but does that mean he actually understands the gravity of marriage, or does he simply assume that they’re already the equivalent of that? Hmm…).

In my opinion, it sounds a lot like Zayne cannot get married out of fear, Rafayel will not get married out of horror, amd Xavier gets married, though for an odd reason. All 3 express vastly different hurdles, and are… questionable, to say the least.

But of course, I do indulge in a little fun and can portray all 3 of them as married to their lover in my SMAUs because they’re not too canon-compliant (unless I mention spoilers for their myths, that is), and fanfiction is a soothing balm for all the canon angst… a fix-it AU, if you will. Just a little silliness and self-indulgence. Canonically though? I wouldn’t touch that topic with a ten foot pole with them😭😭

Again, it’s not so much a lack of desire to commit like that from all 3 of them, as much as it is the burden of a past too heavy to bear. It’s interesting, I think.

Working on a comparatively huge SMAU that’s hurting me SO bad while writing it… damn, my request box was full of tears last month😭😭😭

Since it’s taking a bit while I’m writing it and also juggling my studies, let’s do a little poll thing in the meantime!!
