I apologize if this isnt good to ask, but im morbidly curious. How DO you dispatch your meat rabbits? Sry if this is inappropriate just lmk
It's okay to ask! I will put this under a read more for those who don't want to see ^^
I use a pellet gun, from behind them, aimed between the ears. They drop right away (then do death throws) and it's the easiest method I've used, the other being cervical dislocation (also known as broomstick method), but for me there was more room for error (rabbit moving around, not pulling/tugging hard enough, etc.) CD is also harder (for myself at least) to do on larger rabbits given they have a thicker neck and can fight more when you're trying to get them to stay still.
Both methods are humane and can come with error (one time I missed with the pellet gun, the rabbit moved at the last second and I had to quickly CD, which freaked me out and for a while I didn't use the pellet gun). But for me, overall the pellet gun has given me the least problems. I also have learned to put the rabbit in a carrier now, so that they can't move around as much, plus the blood goes into the carrier tray instead of all over my floor (it's tile so it's fine, but it's a pain to clean)
Thank you for the ask! I love to educate and rabbits are of course, a special interest of mine haha
