I saw a tweet saying Harmione (and Dramione) shippers do a disservice to Hermione with not knowing who she is. Now, I myself do not think fictional characters can be done a disservice cuz they’re not real. However, if I did, isn’t it curious that these people accuse not-Ron/Hermione shippers of doing her a disservice when they themselves are constraining her to only one romantic relationship, confining her to one specific individual, with no other options pretty much cuz Hermione’s special?

“I used to ship Harry and Hermione together but that was back when I was 12 years old. Now, I’ve grown up and realized that Ron and Hermione make much more sense together and are good together” is a sure-fire way to tell me you didn’t “grow up”.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was not convincing the world he didn’t exist. It was convincing the world that Harry finds Hermione boring to be around and that they wouldn’t be friends without Ron.

Them: rereading DH and ugh, I do not understand how you can read the books and still ship Harry and Hermione when it’s pretty obvious Harry cares very little about Hermione. I mean, the best he could do to cheer her up after Ron left was put his (Ron’s) blanket over her. How pathetic😭😂

Me: you guy always, always make excuses for Ron. From the “No wonder she’s got no friends” comment to leaving Harry and Hermione alone in DH. “He’s just a kid.” “He didn’t mean for Hermione to overhear his comment.” “He’s an insecure teen.” “He’s the least loved in his family and suffers from an inferiority complex because of it.” “It was because of the Horcrux.” So does Harry not get any excuses like Ron does? No “he was neglected and abused for the most part of his life”? No “his parents are dead, so he grew up without a mother and father caring for him”? No “his would-be mentors all end up dead”? No “he suffers from severe PTSD cuz every year either he or someone close to him dies”?

Common misconceptions on the Harmione ship:

- Harry finding Hermione boring (never said in the books)

- Harry and Hermione having older sister and younger brother vibes (as someone who has older sisters, no)

- Harry and Hermione don’t find each other attractive (there are some implications so it’s not crazy to think they do)

- Harry being passive towards Hermione or not really caring about her (he does care about her a lot)

- Harry and Hermione having a relationship the resembles coworkers than friends (even tho they’re so familiar with each other that they can communicate without words or share physical contact with one another)

- Movie Harmione>Book Harmione (no)

- Praising JKR for not doing the cliched “main male and main female end up together” (even tho the other main canon pairings have cliches attached to them)

-Most Harmione shippers have never read the books (the historical ship wars before the movies)

- 99% if Harmione fanfic is Ron/Ginny/Weasley bashing (no, it isn’t)

Harmione’s friendship is so precious and special that the shippers believe they could take the step into a romantic relationship 😄
