Although I typically avoid focusing too heavily on topical news stories, there were some significant developments today.
Firstly, it was announced that starting in 2025, WWE Raw will exclusively stream on Netflix in a deal reportedly worth a staggering $5 billion over 10 years. Additionally, Netflix will become the home for all WWE shows and specials outside of the U.S., including Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and the company's Premium Live Events.
In another noteworthy move, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been appointed to the UFC and WWE's TKO Group board of directors. As part of this deal, he will receive $30 million in stock and full ownership of his trademarked name, "The Rock."

In 2007, Randy Savage lent his voice to the character of Gorilla in the King of the Hill episode, "Bill, Bulk and the Body Buddies."
The episode follows Bill, who needs to get into better shape to pass his army physical. To achieve this, he invests in gym equipment for his garage, benefiting his neighbours.
However, things worsen when Bill invites his trainer and bodybuilder friends to help him get into shape. Their over-the-top personalities intimidate the neighbourhood, making everyone feel uncomfortable.
As Bill pushes his limits with the leg press, he injures his legs and cannot walk. Despite this, his bodybuilder friends force him to keep training.
Thankfully, Hank, Bill's good friend, comes up with a plan to distract the bodybuilders and take Bill to the hospital. The doctor explains that Bill's injury is unlike anything he's ever seen before: "Your rectum ruptured, and well, your internal systems became external."
As a result, Bill cannot work out for six months, and his army physical gets postponed until he recovers.

The nWo theme song, "Rockhouse" by Frank Shelley, was chosen from a collection of generic music beds owned by Turner. WCW believed that the song perfectly captured the vibe they sought, and they didn't have to pay licensing fees.
The song heavily borrowed from "Highway Chile" and "Stars That Play With Laughing Sams Dice" by Jimi Hendrix.

As per the tax returns filed during the bankruptcy of ECW's parent company, HHG Inc., the corporation incurred a loss of:
- $1.2 million in 1997
- $1 million in 1998
- $3.5 million in 1999
Although $5.7 million may seem like a lot, it's nothing compared to the massive $62 million WCW lost in 2000.
Paul Heyman was doing everything he could to keep ECW alive, spending over $3.7 million of his family's money to keep the company afloat.

While driving from his house to the gym, Ricky Steamboat passed by a tree adorned with flowers and cards at its base. Upon closer inspection, he noticed a shrine for Randy Savage featuring his picture. It struck Ricky that, out of all the trees he had driven by and all the places he could have lived, a piece of Randy was right there. It was a powerful reminder of their connection, forged by their unforgettable performance at WrestleMania 3, which captivated 93,000 fans.Ricky didn't realize then that he and Randy were also inspiring a new generation of wrestlers. Of the 6,000-plus matches Ricky competed in, his clash against the Macho Man remains the one he is most often asked about. That match will live on forever as a testament to the power of passion, dedication, and the magic of professional wrestling.

Percy Pringle (Paul Bearer) shares a story of how just days before Christmas in 1990, his car was repossessed, and he was on the verge of bankruptcy until a call to Rick Rude changed his fate: "It was four days before Christmas, in Dallas, Texas. World Class Championship Wrestling had closed down a couple of years before, and The USWA was ready to move back to Tennessee to make room for the new Global Wrestling Federation at The Sportatorium. I found myself without a job, and on the verge of bankruptcy. My car had been repossessed, and we didn’t have the money for a Christmas tree, much less presents to put under one. It became painfully hard to look into the eyes of my ten-year old and three-year old sons. I knew in my heart that my wrestling career was over, and it was time to make a drastic change. I called my friend “Ravishing” Rick Rude, who was working for The WWF at the time. I told Rick exactly what was going on in my life, and that I planned on moving back home to Alabama and go back to work in the funeral industry. He was very sympathetic, and asked me not to make any quick decisions. In fact, Rick told me that he would call me back before the end of the day. When we talked again a couple of hours later, he said “Vince wants you to call him at home.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “Now, let me know what he has to say.” Rick concluded. I immediately fell back onto the sofa, dropping Vince McMahon’s telephone number to the floor. After about twenty minutes, I finally realized that it wasn’t a dream, and gathered the strength to dial Mr. McMahon’s private home number.“Where have you been all these years?” I remember Vince asking me, and after some small talk he told me that he would certainly like to meet with me after the holidays. The conversation still didn’t solve my Christmas problems, but I did have a sleepless night thinking that I may finally make it to “The Fed”. Early the next morning, my phone rang, and it was Mr. McMahon’s right hand man, Pat Patterson. Pat wanted to know if I could catch an early afternoon flight to New York, because Vince wanted to see me sooner than expected. Of course, my answer was positive, and he provided the flight information I needed. Things were happening so quickly, I could hardly digest them. Darkness was falling over the New York skyline as my American Airlines jet made it’s way into John F. Kennedy Airport. As I walked down the jet way, I spotted a well-dressed gentleman holding a card with my name written across it. I identified myself; he took my bag and told me to follow him to my limousine. “Limousine! Hell, I don’t even own a car.” I thought to myself. I actually felt like I was one of the Beverly Hillbillies as the limo driver took me through New York City and into Connecticut. Finally, we arrived at a majestic five-star hotel in Stamford, where I was whisked away to my penthouse suite. I wasn’t in the room five-minutes before my phone rang, and it was Pat Patterson. “Percy, Vince want to see you at 10 o’clock in the morning.” Pat told me, “I’ll pick you up at 9:45. In the meantime, you can eat, drink, and do anything you want to do. Just sign your name, it’s all courtesy of Titan Sports." To say that I was nervous is an understatement. I was scared to death, as I entered Vince McMahon’s office the next morning. Which, by the way, was my wedding anniversary, December 22, 1990. We talked about everything under the sun. It didn’t take long for Vince to make me feel right at home. As he looked over my resume, he began to laugh. I didn’t have a clue what was going on. “You have a degree in Mortuary Science?” Mr. McMahon questioned me, “This is just too much.” Little did I know that they were looking for a manger for The Undertaker, and Vince wasn’t aware that I had a background in Funeral Service, as well as being a wrestling manager. It was a match made in heaven, and when I left Titan Towers, I had a WWF contract in hand. We made it through the holidays; the WWF contract was a suitable anniversary gift for Dianna and myself. I went on the road in January 1991, as The WWF character known as Paul Bearer, managing The Undertaker."

In late 1999, Paul Heyman opened his arms and returned the favour to his mentor Dusty Rhodes by presenting him with an opportunity in Extreme Championship Wrestling. While on the surface, this seemed like unfamiliar territory for Dusty, he was hardcore before the promotion’s existence and could endear himself to any audience. This is Dusty's run with ECW.

Taking a Bullet  As Roman Reigns demanded that Sami Zayn pull the trigger by hitting a defenceless Kevin Owens, his best friend, with a chair, The Tribal Chief also ridiculed The Honorary Uso. "Are you crying?" Roman then started shoving Sami in the face and asked, "What's wrong with you? You think it's a game? This is my life. This is my whole life." Sami then turned the chair to Roman's back, as Seth Rollins did many years earlier, but this time, Roman deserved it. As the crowd roared with approval, Sami dropped the chair and apologized. Jey Uso, who was once Sami's biggest detractor asked, "What are you doing? I thought you were my brother man?" After Jimmy Uso super kicked Sami, he said to his twin, "You said you love him like a brother? Nah. I'm your brother." Solo and Jimmy beat Sami while Roman Reigns yelled, "After everything I gave you, you put a knife in my back. I gave you the world!" Jey Uso watched on in disbelief and then left the ring, as it was too much for him to watch. Roman asked, "So, you're turning your back on us?" The Tribal Chief then turned his attention to Sami and hit him repeatedly with a chair while ripping off the Honorary Uce shirt. Roman picked off the rose petals and dropped them onto Sami's fallen body. Sami took the bullet for Kevin. Blood makes you related, loyalty makes you family.
