Hey guys I’m back with more song association bullshit
(side note if these ever inspire any editors out there PLEASE share because I can’t edit for shit but I would love to see someone else do it)
So. Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me? is just the entire origin character group.
But let’s just focus on one section.
“I was tame, I was gentle”
Shadowheart being kidnapped from her family and Seluné, Karlach being sent to the hells by Gortash, Wyll being cast out at such a young age for simply protecting his people
“til the circus life made me mean”
Shadowheart being raised in the Shar temple to be a torturer, Karlach getting her heart replaced and turned into a soldier, Wyll becoming the blade both to prove himself to his father and to protect the Sword Coast
“Don't you worry folks, we took out all her teeth”
Astarion being turned to a spawn and forced to serve Cazador, Karlach being forced to fight for Zariel
“Who's afraid of little old me?!”
“Well you should be, you should be, you should be”
These lines are just the group as a whole. Mostly unassuming, mostly underestimated. You should probably be afraid of them.
“Cause you lured me,”
Gale being lured by Mystra, Wyll being lured by Mizora
“and you hurt me,”
Shadowheart being cursed by Shar for her faith, Astarion being used by Cazador
“and you taught me”
Gale learning from Mystra but being cast out in the end, Lae’zel learning from her people
“You caged me,”
Astarion going through hell before the tadpole, Karlach being hunted down by Zariel for getting out
“And then you called me crazy”
Lae’zel losing her faith in Vlaakith after discovering she’s a lying piece of shit, Shadowheart sparing Aylin and being deemed a traitor and a heretic
“I am what I am cause you trained me”
Karlach getting her revenge on Gortash, Shadowheart facing the mother superior, Gale confronting Mystra
“So who’s afraid of me?”
Again, each of the companions is seen as unassuming or is underestimated. The only one with a known name is Wyll and even he isn’t given the credit he deserves. So who’s afraid of them? Well they should be.

Starting a new playthrough with the intention of romancing Gale as a durge (trying to be redeemed) is so funny because it’s like the embodiment of that “someone will die” “of fun!” meme
Like Pandora (my Tav) tried to get Scratch to be her friend and the dog did NOT like her but then Gale walked up and Scratch was so happy to see him and I was like oh so this is the dynamic? I love it.
