I know Zack is this optimistic guy. but there's no way he doesn't have at least SOME trauma from the shit Hojo did to them#even if he doesn't outwardly show it. Anyway. Either that or he tries to save Biggs - and while he doesn't know Biggs that much#he knows Biggs means a lot to Marlene. so that weight is still there.#and MASSIVE MFING SPOILERS SPOILER CITY RIGHT HERE LAST WARNING WOOOWOOOWOOO#even if he does try and save Biggs. he. he literally dies anyway. in the most. like. non-heroic way possible i guess??? like. he just gets#shot. and he drops. and that's it. gone. And Zack is left w/ that same fucking nightmare of looking down the barrels of too many guns#in BOTH fucking scenarios he's left that way in fact. It's like he can only ever be a hero at a cost that makes us and him question if it#was even worth trying to be a hero in the first place yk???? He tries to help Biggs. Biggs dies anyway. He fights Sephiroth in that weird#world? doomed timeline??? and that world still seems to end by Meteor anyway; if it actually existed as a world anyway.#Tries to save Aerith. Aerith is in a coma. Gets Cloud to safety. Cloud is still in his fucking coma. The only time he 'succeeds' is when#HIS life is the cost for it. In the OG timeline. where his sacrifice allows for Cloud to live. and Cloud wakes from his coma in time.#He's so full of love and hope and stubborn optimism that it makes me cry. I just want him to be happy yk.#anyway sorry for the fresh alphabet soup i have. many feelings. wonder if I should make a sideblog for final fantasy posting...
