also. why would you ever pick someone's dragon by saying “i don't like/care about [character]/[fandom] at all but that's [character].” i see this so often in IKTR and it's just like. was that necessary. do you think anyone who's invested enough to make fan characters wants to hear you dismiss their passions. never mind that you could have waited and let someone who's actually interested in their dragons claim them instead, you could have just... left out the part where you don't give a shit. does basic politeness elude you or are you just a knob.

but for real the actual art for this stupid familiar is so ugly. the eye's placement makes it so the eyesocket are where the teeth roots should be. The jaw is way too damn long so the stupid thing would have an ungodly underbite if it closed its mouth, it wouldn't be able to clamp down on any prey let alone be super cool predator. And why did they choose to give what's 98% a whale a neck??? it just looks so awful.

So is anyone else just gonna say it outright or does it have to be me? Well alright, here it goes:

The new dragon breed is literally just skydancers again. They look exactly the same- feathered wings, feathered tail, cat legs that end with lizard feet, heck they even have frilly ear-like crests on both side of the head. I betcha anything they'll even have similar poses with one reared up like a horse and one just standing/sitting there in a dopey boring pose.

Can't wait for the new breed to be skydancers v2 but worse because they can't dress up or breed with anything. Woo.... ugh.

watch out I'm about to dump several years worth of salt here I know everyone finds the meme of tidelord running off to get milk hilarious, and I did too at first, but at this point i do not give a shit about the tidelords disappearance. it's been actual years of just nothing-burger nontent tied to a gamemode that's only 6% done after 11 years. i don't care. dragcave.net is able to consistently release walkaround event games, pvp snowfort games, and new activities/collectables for holidays and it's team is a fraction of the size.

making tidelords disappearance some super mysterious Deep LoRE thing spanning actual real-life years was stupid, tying it into a minigame release when they can't even consistently release dragons on their DRAGON WEBSITE was even stupider.

just bring him back in some ministory and admit that connecting him with adventure mode was a mistake. IT'S FINE TO ADMIT YOU WERE WRONG SOMETIMES, STAFF. i'm so sick of reading about the BiG MySteRY oOOooO WhAT COuLD It BE after 10 fuckin years. and after seeing what they've done with the coliseum "gameplay" and their utter failure at basic balancing in a turn-based rpg with every venue expansion and mob layout, i absolutely do not want to think about what other awful, grindy and unfun games they'd come up with. coliseum gives awful rewards for time invested and i dread imaging what a slog adventure mode is going to be.

Not a big fan of (what we can see of) the new modern unfortunately. Just ain’t my thing, remind me too much of Wildclaws. :/ Don’t think I’ll be getting any, but I’m glad for anyone who’s excited over them!

last two anniversaries have been pretty uhhh i guess lowkey is a good word for it. i dont expect much personally. this way I can only be pleasantly surprised if something decent happens.

Staff is so up their own butt about the whole "we dont force our employees (undel) to stay up at odd hours to flip a manual switch for festivals/events (even though there's no logical reason why undel is the only one who can do it to begin with). we are the best employers ever and we are amazing for not employing crunch. Oh by the way, whatever codemonkey we actually bother hiring is going to have to be on call 24/7 uwu hyperflexible scheduling that we're allowed to change on a whim mandatory" like sorry but insisting on festivals and events being manual switch only isn't a flex if you're going to somehow try and incorporate it into fart huffing about what amazing employers you are lol you could easily code it to be automated and put on a timer. no need to wax poetic about how anti-crunch you are for brownie points

The Absolute Drama With This Teaser

I legit thought it was a friendly back and forth in a flight rising server I'm in on Discord, just discussing the mystery hand in the latest teaser. Just theories on possible new breed, or maybe a bog with a hidden fourth finger. One user was really up in arms about it being three fingers. I just said maybe there's a fourth finger, and that the rest can be explained with staff inconsistency in player models and NPC art. I didn't go further, while others in the server backed up both ideas. I was chill the whole time, saying I might be wrong, open to other ideas. They kept pushing turtle dragon. I stepped back and thought things were gonna cool off.

They blocked me over it. I know because I had just helped them figure out a scry for one of their dragons in their lair just before the teaser dropped. I could see their lair before, and now I'm not allowed to. By the look of it, they blocked everyone who didn't agree with them on this mystery hand being a new breed (some others came to me asking if I was suddenly not allowed to see their dragons for sale anymore after the debate).

Like I get it. This is the anniversary. This is a big thing, with lots of theories being tossed out with each new teaser. I also know players are 100% allowed to block whoever they want for whatever reason they want to (I've blocked players for renaming a project kid LAMB SAUCE and immediately exalting them like I get it, block for anything). It just seems like a lot to block someone over one of the teasers for the anniversary, especially for a casual mention of staff art and one theory.

3 days into the teasers and the staff refuse to add a no tidelord disclaimer to the OP but they sure do love personally telling individual users on random pages and forum posts that not as many users are paying attention to. come the fuck on.
