SiFi setting rambling.
While automatic translators exist, the Literature Guild's job is to provide accurate translations (and notes for cultural contexts) for fiction and historical records, as well as distributing these copies to archives, libraries, and personal use.
Each Capital System for the Galactic Alliance has a massive university dedicated to education of translators for this purpose, along with additional campuses in other core worlds.
Books are copied, and then translated into hundreds of different languages of different cultures, with the translations verified by cultural advisors (some times checked over many times if the record or fiction is historically important).
Thousands of nerds are employees by the Guild for this purpose.
The guild also maintains libraries which have physical copies of wanted books, one of the first things major stations will establish when people move into them.
Digital copies, free to all, exist of course, but physical copies are still valued.
