I'm way busier than I thought I'd be (and now Mermay exists and that's giving me more ideas I don't have time to create uh oh) but I did whip up a sketch for @dbh-found-family's Detroit: Become Family event and idk I'm no good at drawing dogs really but an attempt was made
Prompt 5: Calm
I was originally gonna do a thing with Sumo just sitting calmly in Connor's lap or possibly getting brushed because Saint Bernards shed like crazy but we all know Connor is living his best life when he's being smothered by a giant dog that probably weighs more than he does, and Hank's happiest just watching it all happen. not calm by definition but relaxing for them after a long day at work no doubt. I will admit that there was a thought about having yellow around Sumo something something personified sunshine but yeah idk where I was going with that
Google was shockingly vague with Saint Bernard sizes in comparison to that of a human and I'm using that as the source of blame for my nonexistent proportion management skills (this time)

guys I attempted something resembling abstract art again (this time for @dbh-found-family's Detroit: Become Family event) run while you still can
Prompt 4: Troubled
once again idk why I experiment with this kind stuff sometimes but this one isn't my worst attempt so ehh I'm content with the Pixar storyboard vibes ig. it's supposed to represent Connor choosing between being a machine (represented by thirium blue) and a deviant (represented by human blood red). Connor himself has both of these colors on him but he's mostly yellow and processing/uncertain depending on his choice in a sense and how much he feels stuff. Amanda's path is the easy one, and taking Hank's will quite literally flip Connor's life upside-down and yeah idk I'm not exactly subtle lol

okay so I totally skipped that first prompt for @dbh-found-family's Detroit: Become Family event thing and I probably won't be able to do all the future prompts because May is quickly becoming extremely busy uh but idk I'll try ig
Prompts 2 & 3: Darkness and Light
I went kinda literal on this one. it's not long after the whole revolution thing and Connor considers taking out his LED to make people more comfortable around him and to help him fit in better. in case it's not obvious he's covering his LED to see what it'd look like and to really fit the theme I had him initially alone in the bathroom with the light off and it gets brighter throughout the panels as Hank comes in and Connor reconsiders his options
(here's the comic split up since the full version looks blurry to me idk)
I started this disaster comic last night for some horrible reason when I realized this other thing I initially made would fit better with the next prompt and I hate comics even with the copied and pasted background if I ever threaten myself with making a comic please stop me

final thing for @destieldtiyschallenge...I hope. wanted to tie things off by recreating this thing that @phantommermaidqueen made something something going full circle since they redrew one of my things voluntarily in the second round and yeah so on an unrelated note how many pages of somebody's tumblr can you scroll back before it becomes creepy
(no but now I have mermaid flavored ideas that I don't know what to do with uh oh)
((also @casdeans-pie I may steal your bird spn idea for a fic or something at some point (with permission ofc) sorry I don't make the rules)

the redraw kinda has a different vibe than the original imo and idk I don't really dislike that for whatever reason. also I'm aware that Cas doesn't look too much like a raven (which seems to be kinda just a bigger crow?) and that he looks more like a parrot or something. my bird anatomy is wack and Cas is far more fluffy and huggable than a regular raven if they're anything like crows but I don't think Dean minds at least ,_,
so yeah that's my final thing for this challenge though I could definitely keep going. but I guess I'm done redrawing for the time being. I'm definitely willing to do it again in the future though so uh if somebody wouldn't mind me stealing their ideas and copying and pasting them but with worse proportions...I mean I take requests for free and stuff

so I heard about something called @destiel-buzzy-bee-bang actually last year and internally died over it since then because I was a couple months too late to participate and only knew it existed when I found a fic for it last year so yeah there was some hype involved. and now look I threw art at a fic for it :000
the fic in question is very silly so I went with a silly sorta style for this as far as the expressions go. Dean is a nurse here putting an IV in Cas' arm because Cas has allergies uh oh (hence the red skin that I definitely didn't go overboard on uh) and oh look they so happen to be soulmates, which Meg just realized as well. I've never drawn any of the hospital-y stuff before so if anything looks terrible (looking at you curtains and IV pole) that'd be why uh
yeah. anyway
the soulmate marks are based on the Mark of Cain as well as honeycomb. I don't think this is exactly what my author had in mind but it gets the point across at least I think. also I've never drawn Cas with a beard before how terrible does it look be honest

and now it's time for the art I did for the @spnangelsanddemons-rb (which is related to the @spnangelbang if anyone's curious which they're probably not but)
anyway. here's the banner I did for the fic on the left, and the original art thing I threw out there for the reverse bang that got it claimed. the original idea I had was based on Dean saying if he ever goes dark side, he wants Cas to 'take him out' and Cas being Cas completely misunderstands this and decides that means he should take Dean on a date (hence the flowers)
I tried to give Dean a demon-y sort of true form thing inspired by the dark smoke thing they do while adding stuff like the cracked soul to more subtly imply hey that's a demon. idk why everything is so glow-y either I just wanted to light up Cas' halo and angel eyes there and uh yeah now everything's glowing oops
by contrast this has no glowing though it does have a giant mirror because I love suffering. I actually did model this with weird cat erasers we have for some reason that naturally don't even erase anything and that's the only reason why the mirror isn't extremely wacky
the idea of having the mirror was to show the true forms of Dean and Cas as Dean becomes less and less of a demon as the story progresses and Cas sits there staring like normal even as his wings are totally visible which he doesn't even notice or worry about. I designed the little plates and food without realizing that none of them would appear at this angle and that's why everything's kinda pushed to the sides I was just happy they looked like food and couldn't make myself delete them dbjsudru
the only thing I didn't move was the vase of flowers that I had set up in the center of the table, which inspired me to make a little divider thing for the second time ever. along with the flowers, there's a fancy crane napkin thing and ofc a pie. never used this pen for anything big before really but I do like how these turned out so I might try it again sometime

okay so I know the @destieldtiyschallenge is over and I've elected to ignore that idk there's still more stuff I wanna redraw though I am forcing myself to almost maybe possibly be done uh. but yeah so I saw the silly final panel of this comic that @wigglebox gifted to the masses and oh no my hand slipped

I will admit to wanting to draw this for Sam's face. speaking of faces Dean and Cas' are pretty weird and I'm aware of this, closed eyes are always just kinda weird. also I was gonna color this but idk it just has a certain vibe like this in definitely not just being lazy. but yeah let's pretend the challenge is still ongoing guys 👏

well well well what's this another thing for the @destieldtiyschallenge? why yes it is, imagine that. this one's for you I'm afraid @j-k-t-e because your coffee shop idiots drawing with the horribly horrible bad effort requiring background just looked like fun so oh no I've redrawn it
(here's the original drawing for reference)
as predicted the background was horrible but in a weirdly fun kind of way. I think the hardest part might've been getting the sweaters right actually because my lines are so thick that it's hard to add a bunch of details. I did rearrange some things and totally didn't flip Cas' name tag upside-down for important reasons but yeah bam, coffee shop stuff
(also I know the redraw challenge is supposed to be coming to a close but I have a couple of projects for it in the works so I'm just gonna ignore that it's ending I think enjoy that knowledge (and apologies in advance for anyone that wouldn't want their art redrawn after the deadline sorry I'm slow and maybe took on too many projects they just look so fun and I have no self-control gjfkfifi))

I have zero self-control when it comes to creature!cas in any form so I saw a selkie!cas option for the @deancaspinefest and all other thoughts ceased to exist uh
I tried a mix of two styles for this fic's art by combining my usual thick black outlines with the crayon pen on Flipaclip to create layered colors, as per my author's request. this let me do almost like a children's story book vibe here but I think that's just the name of the pen talking. either way look seal Cas hdhfndi (and my attempt at drawing a boat but ignore that as well as the weirdly tiny credits)
here's Dean rescuing Cas who looks like he just woke up from a nap or something there. Dean's expression looked better before I erased half of it to make room for Cas' head and I'm now unsure what face Dean's really supposed to be making beyond exertion meets determination. I originally had a lighter blue sky here (as well as in the banner) but the author assures me the sky in Scotland only comes in grey, which has the added bonus of making this whole atmosphere a little more tense
it took me forever to get a decent angle for this one it was just weirdly impossible for no reason and I only got this after trashing six other partially complete sketches and it still looks kinda weird but it was unexpectedly impossible trying to get a view where you can see Dean and Cas. also just now realizing that the pipe on the showerhead leads nowhere oops
*obligatory image of Dean falling in the water while marine flavored creature!cas saves him (or, well, looks at him ig)*
still very bad at drawing water but an attempt was made though Dean's pose could be better and Cas looks too small to really be able to swim Dean back to shore. let's just ignore...all of that uh. I intentionally made Dean's outfit here symbolic and all that. in the other pics, he's wearing reds and greys but now he's wearing a tan not unlike Cas' trench coat (albeit darker) and his flannel is a mixture of blue and green, representing both the ocean and ofc him and Cas (desitle colors gjkdhdgf) because I'm weak and Dean was pining for so long that he subconsciously starting wearing Cas Colors ,_,
so yay style experimentation and double yay for Dean and Cas being dumb again 🎉

oh look a thingy for the @destieldtiyschallenge. this year's model is called uh idk whatever @beansprean called this silly masterpiece that's kinda old but I thought it was kinda funny and recreated it
(here's the original for reference and easier comparisons)
I'm awful at drawing couches, people sitting, Cas squinting (idk why it just never looks quite right), cowboy hats, and people sitting on couches, so I naturally recreated a thing with all of these things. I say recreated because I did change some things a little. nothing major but I did use the wrong camera size which meant I had to draw their legs (which was death never again oh no) and idk I just kinda kept losing the spirit of the redraw from there. accidentally and stuff probably
I've secretly been waiting for a chance to draw Dean and Cas in matching pajamas, because what goes better with hotdogs than hamburgers something something America. also I couldn't figure out what 'Wyatt Corp' was and Google wasn't helpful so I did leave that part out (sorry)
so yeah enjoy the kind of redraw
