Under the Bridge is almost ending and I've been trying very hard not to flood your askbox with questions about what you think of every little amazing thing...but after the latest episode where everyone fricking delivered for each and every character moment, I just really want to know if you have any favorite moments??

**and if you think there's any way Rebecca can make good with the Virks and find Reena's voice for the book and maybe even reconcile with Cam all in that last episode that is already gonna have so much to cover trial-wise??

While I'm loving the show, it's increasingly becoming infuriating the way they're REALLY trying hard to push the sympathetic angle for Warren, especially in Eps 6-7. It's not just showing Rebecca's sympathy for him, it's basically expecting us to have sympathy.

I get they’re trying to pose the question of: are we all our worst moment? Alas, as Cam even said there’s a difference between a mistake, and what he did, and the fact that Reena as the true victim is getting lost amidst all of this, which is tragic. Is he a psycho like Kelly? No. Did he still participate in a brutal beating and murder? YES. Portraying him as some little innocent lamb with his lovable, tearful face and sad story and all-white wardrobe is sorta insane. I understand the point of all of this is to say: not every victim is a perfect person and not every criminal is pure evil... but, c'mon.

The actor playing Warren being really likable ain’t helping, lol. But either way it's fairly yikes. And Rebecca is really crossing the line from "complicated and messy" to just... a pretty damn awful person. I mean truly, she's terrible. And her relationship with the teens, Warren especially, is at best cringe -- at worst beyond inappropriate.

What I find interesting, is the fact that both Cam and Dusty are original characters created specifically for the show, who did not exist in real life. Dusty is apparently loosely based on an amalgamation of real people from the case, but not an actual individual. It's interesting that though also complicated and imperfect, the two BIPOC are by far the most empathetic and sympathetic characters in the show/story (aside from the young WOC victim Reena of course).

But yeah, I'm really looking forward to the final episode tomorrow.

Update: sugar detox flopped, but only partially. I caved after like 4 days BUT I’m still reducing, just a little more methodically / slowly rather than cold turkey. The cold turkey side effects had me fucked up way more than expected. I can handle physical side effects, but when I start sinking into a deep and scary depression and mental issues then I know I’ve thrown my system off too fast.

Caffeine elimination was a success though. Took a few days to stop DRAGGING and I still miss the mental clarity it provided, but — it is what it is.

Thus, the sugar reduction and eventual elimination journey continues…

I would like to apologize in advance for the person that I’m about to become. I will be embarking on a 10 day sugar detox starting tomorrow. 🥴
