As I worked on the commissions for AA X Ban, I thought about my own fan work and my spawn Astarion. My Astarion never got to wear anything too fancy - mostly just the Cloak of Dragomir, his squeaky leather doublet, and his linen shirt. (or naked, yes naked)

I suppose my Amaara hasn't been the most attentive girlfriend, has she?

2nd drawing of the past/present/future set. I am still struggling with the "Past" one.

I wasn't in the best mood recently, so to get into a happier mindset for this, I had to hug my cat for 30min. He wasn't too thrilled about it. I now understand that the mood you're in really affects what you can create. Being in a more positive state of mind allowed the happier energy to flow into this piece. Interestingly, upon finishing, the happier energy seem to reciprocate, elevating my own mood in a cyclical exchange.

WI Freaking P. I am stuck =( I wanted to do a set of drawings depict my CP in the past, present, and the future. (yes inspired by your idea @not-so-lost-after-all.) It supposed to show Amaara as the noble lady in Silverymoon mourning for her parents while Astarion suffered under Cazador in the dormitory.

But, as you can see, it started to look like a confrontation between the two. So, with each brushstroke a story about overthrown AA and his new master, Vampire Ascendant Amaara kept playing in my head.

Love perverted meets perverted love, A twisted dance beneath the moon above. Ask me to kneel, and I'll shatter your pride, Crash your kneecaps, in a swift, vengeful stride. Torment awakens the man you once were, only In anguish, your essence would stir. The despair in your eyes, that snarl I adore, Faint reminders of the love we once swore.

I think i consumed too much AA content recently. I need to draw something super sweet to counter this darkness.

Mortal Astarion X F! Human Tav. Ummm, angst.👀

For decades, this manor offered him a place to call home in the truest sense.

The hallway was a sacred gallery, adorned with paintings that were not mere canvases, but tangible echoes of their life together. Each brushstroke, lovingly rendered by her hand, captured the essence of cherished memories.

Whenever he opened the door at the end of the hallway, he was greeted by the radiant smile of his beloved, and the hearth beckoned him to surrender to its comforting embrace. Yet, it was the vast window next to it that held the greatest significance. The tender caress of sunlight danced across his skin as he lost himself in the pages of a book beside her. It was here, bathed in the golden rays, that he could truly revel in the miracle she had bestowed upon him – the cure to his vampiric curse, a gift of life, a reminder of the depths of her love and the power it held to transcend even the most insurmountable of boundaries.

Here at home, he had found everything his heart desired.

But nothing is ever truly perfect. Life simply doesn't work that way. Even the mightiest of fortresses cannot withstand the relentless march of time.

He thought he was ready for it, but not like this.

I donno, it doesn't mean anything just me wanting to draw and this came out...

it seems to reflect my admiration for Astarion, and an acknowledgment of the suffering he's endured.

Even if I didn't consciously set out to depict that, it's kind of interesting that my subconscious might be revealing this underlying worship I have for Astarion and his struggles. The creative process can be like a window into our psyche in unexpected ways, can't it? 🤪

I drew them dancing together before but it was a quick drawing that didn't quite scratch my itch =). So, I decided to try again. After finishing, I realized that her gown looked like a wedding gown...just a veil away. So, I thought, why not?

My CP are two non-religious individuals with no family or cultural obligations, financial entanglements, or political ties. For them, a marriage contract holds little practical value beyond being a label, something Amaara doesn't care much about.

However, I can envision Astarion desiring that label, proof is his line: "Us, I still like the sound of that." I picture him grinning with pride whenever Amaara refers to him as "my husband," just as he would possessively call her "my dear wife." There's a certain appeal to the formality that these titles carry. The idea of making that eternal commitment, especially without any societal expectations driving them, could hold romantic significance for him.

So I guess I will think of a proposal comic?

Well, that's not gonna happen anytime soon, and this came to mind first:

Vax´ildan X Keyleth

I had to get them out of my system. I watched The Legend of Vox Machina for its fantastic art and animation. I didn't care much about the characters, and Keyleth was the only one I kind of liked. I didn't think Vax was a good match for her because, in the animated series, he seemed overly attached to his sister and didn't do anything special for Keyleth.

So, I decided to read up on their story. As a sucker for tragedy, I ended up shipping them! It's a shame the animated series couldn't do their arc justice due to time constraints.

Death in DnD seems like a joke. When death isn't absolute, life loses its preciousness. I still remember the shock I felt when Drizzt Do'Urden's wife was reincarnated after he broke up with his lover. What kind of romance arc is that? Ugh.

In contrast, Vax and Keyleth had a more bitter-sweet romance, featuring undying love and years of pining, which only can be found in fantasy romance.

Of course, I feel sorry for poor Keyleth.

This piece was an abandoned WIP from last year. Now after feeling stuck on multiple projects, I finally went back and finished this one.

After two centuries under Cazador's control, Astarion likely didn't even realize how much his old master's influence had shaped him. The proof came after he ascended; he transformed into another version of Cazador himself. AA is such a quiet tragedy that the person living it remained oblivious to. And spawn Astarion here is trying to shed his sire's snakeskin completely, maybe even over-reacting a bit.
