More thoughts (from twitter rant) about this AU, where they were best friends:
Young Astarion alone in the Ancunin mansion🤔 Nyv sneaking in from the balcony, getting some food from the kitchen, and laying on the soft couch next to Astarion's desk, and sleeps, if Astarion is studying?
Well well good day to you too Nyv.
Uh huh zzzzz
Imagine young Astarion with like 6 STR carrying his semi unconscious bestie to his mansion after this (last post). Nyv screaming from Bhaal nightmares. Astarion having no idea and trying to understand wtf is going on, trying to reassure Nyv with the same words he will say 200 years later
What if Bhaal is the first one to notice that Nyv is falling in love? Whispering to his ear that he must kll Astarion to prove his worth? And Nyv is TERRIFIED. So much that he disappears from Astarion's life. Trying to distract his father with other sacrifices.
The Bhaal frenzy eventually clouds his mind. Astarion trying his best to find Nyv but he can't, time goes by, he's a magistrate, then Cazador happens. He's broken. Asked to all deities for help but none answered. Until he's kidnapped by the Nautiloid.
And guess who triggered this whole "absolute" situation 😉😉
Astarion can't remember Nyv, just like his eye color, and Nyv has literal brain damage. They meet again, and BG3 happens. As my duo assassins. What will trigger their memory? Some random situation? The Noblestalk mushroom? The tadpole being removed? Oh so many possibilities
Astarion sharing his immortality and eternity asap to not lose each other ever again
What if the way Astarion threaten you with the dagger when you first find him, is exactly how Nyv taught him long ago? As self defense? Perfected after many many years. And Nyv's brain is confused because it recognized the blade's moves? but don't understand why?
pffffffffffft I might just restart BG3 all over again with them to see the story from this point of view

Sooooo... I don't know how to squeeze this in their timeline and make any sense, but anyway, another what-if-they-have-met-before!
(I do this with all my ships so they're not an exception😇 )
From my twitter:
So what if (in my AU), Astarion had clear blue grey eyes and long hair. After being turned someone grabbed his hair while he was forced to do some things, later he went to his room and chopped off his hair. Got punished for that.
200years later, he decides to let his hair grow again. Like a statement. Nobody would lay a finger on him ever again. Except his consort. Nyv has access to everything🤭
Also I have a feeling that Nyv would never grab Astarion's hair. He definitely grabs every single part of Astarion's body for many reasons and activities but not his hair.
I like to think that Astarion had light blue gray eyes because Nyv has the same color but even lighter. The first time he saw Nyv's eyes, it stirred something in him? When Nyv asked about his eyes, he couldn't answer, and his pale eyes left him with a weird nostalgic feeling?
What if Bhaal asked young Nyv to kill Astarion back then? He was so afraid he disappeared from his life? It would make sense, but damn poor Astarion I don't want him to go through that. He probably studied harder to be magistrate, Nyv distracting his father to other matters by being the 'prodigy' he is expected to be? Life goes on, Cazador happens... Astarion's life is changed and destroyed. Nyv is trapped in the Bhaal frezy. But who accidentally saves Astarion from the kennels? Durge. (Yes I'm trying very hard to squeeze this AU into a somehow acceptable context)
Astarion can't remember Nyv, just like his eye color, and Nyv has literal brain damage. They meet again, and BG3 happens. As my duo assassins. They will conveniently remember everything once the tadpole is removed. Because I say so. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
