i know "they're not an activist so this isn't their job" is a popular argument for defending celebrities or other public figures whenever there's pressure to speak out about humanitarian causes but do people genuinely, truly believe activism is limited to making your stance known on a fucking genocide, or even simply stating that you don't support the inhumane treatment of people - that literal babies and countless men and women losing their lives is not justified under any circumstances? "it won't do much" celebrities are KNOWN for their influence and they very well hold the power to bring global attention to issues that may be neglected/need prioritization. like you're telling me there's this person has the means to help the cause financially, they have the power to accelerate the movement by reaching out to their audience, and their speaking out will be brought to media attention which HELPS and they STILL WON'T DO IT because they're not an activist?? im sorry, but fuck off
