            a pause, during which             he stared openly at the             skeleton.                             "...you know, if i was                             mortal, i'd be wondering                             if i was on anything."             huh. just when he thought             he'd seen everything.                             "i didn't think other deaths                             existed."

"It’s all very relative, of course."

            he let out a little yelp of surprise,             almost keeling over at the force             with which she threw herself at             him. of course, once he saw who              it was, his long arms wrapped             around the little alien and held her              close.                             "i swear i set my alarm for a half                              hour. only meant to take a nap,"                             death mumbled against her hair.

Before he knew it, a blur of green whizzed up to him out of the blue and immediately latched to his side. The time traveler, with bags under her eyes and new scars on her cheeks was busy giggling and cooing at her dear friend. "You take too long. You oughta get a calender or somethin’," she pouted.

            "...so, saying that i'm alive wouldn't really be accurate."

                            "i guess 'i'm back' works well enough."

--          Running his tongue over his lips so they wouldn't be too cracked, the deity leaned down and pressed them to the curious alien's.      Though he'd been in existence for... well, forever, Death still was complete shit at kissing. So it was clumsy and awkward. But he still did try and communicate just how he felt in the smooch, despite his inexperience.

The deity sends a small bat to flutter around the alien, squeaking and giving her tiny kisses.

The traveler giggles, reaching out to pet the sweet little bat. How peculiar! He had teeth that looked just like candy corn…

"Aren’t you a handsome fella?" she smiles sweetly.

--          "Well, your presence is an honor, Doctor West."      Not anticipating any sort of a hug - or really any physical sort of display - from the scientist, Death dropped his arms. His tone took on a slightly clipped quality to it, though still entirely polite and shrouded with a warm blanket of affability. This man, this mortal tried to steal his charges from him. That was enough to sour his view of West a tad - though Death didn't hate anyone.

     "Truly? Huh. Here I was, under the impression that you were an atheist. Color me shocked, Doctor. Well, in any case, it would seem that theory of yours is true. I do exist. Ah, my apologies for this..." He gestured to himself. "Mortal appearance."
