There were a bunch of points made from Serene, and eventually we came up with A Design, which I decided to redraw today. We present you: the worm as a light creature

What got you interested in playing Sky?
Good question!!! Basically, I'm in a small discord server, 100-ish people, and we're all really friendly with each other. It started out as a fanfic server, but then the author stopped at some point, so we converted it into something like a nice meeting and have fun hub. I've made so many friends there which I speak to daily for the past two years.
Anyways! There is a channel for gaming. And at some point, I kept on seeing people talk about some sky. I researched it a bit, and I got curious. So I downloaded it and started playing! Unfortunately, it was during Shattering, so I wasn't that interested in that time and dropped off for about half a year. I regret it cause it meant that I missed stuff like Aurora or Remembrance.
That didn't mean that I didn't come back. At around the start of Passage, I downloaded it again, and played it a little every week. This went until Aviary, when a friend of mine from that same server also got curious about what I was doing. Lo and behold, I got a moth which was actually active! That kind of snowballed, where each of us got the other more and more interested. A few other friends who had also played sky before also joined in.
Ultimately, what is currently actively keeping my interest in sky is that same friend who became my moth, and when we encouraged each other to research the lore (eventually making me scroll through tumblr and make a sideblog to post art in and later me making mutuals and friends on skyblr), so now I can't really let go even though they don't play as much nowadays due to a bug. Thank you VERY much @iamherefortrains , I don't think you know how much you changed my tracks and helped me join another community which is now a part of my life which I don't think I can ever fully let go <3

Okay the headcanon gears are churning for Sky rn
Thinking of stuff around how I thought home shrines might work I have come up with some things:
- some skykids really hate the feeling so they avoid it
- those used to it use it for a quick clean
- moths instinctively roll in sand, like small birds
- some skykids like the ritual or feeling of cleaning themselves by other means. Like a tumble in the clouds, actually using tools and the ones used to water might take a dip and enjoy a strong breeze or use some of their light to boost off flying to quickly dry
Also, seeing as the home shrines start to vibrate and hum as a skykid comes closer to appear through it, each skykid gives off a different hum (seeing as that same wavelength shapes and materialises the body from their image transmitted by light).
Skykids that have been friends for a time start to recognize the sound of each other and skilled listeners can with time learn to distinguish if their friend has changed cosmetics and some even starting to recognize the nuance of sound for specific cosmetics.
Now I wanna draw moths twitching around in the sand..
