In Nipaluna/Hobart the colonial statue of William Crowther, who stole the skull of the Aboriginal man William Lane in 1869, has been sawn off at the ankles and toppled. This video was posted anonymously with the following statement:
"On the lands where one of the truest and most brutal attempted genocides was committed against the Tasmanian aboriginal people, it is unfathomable that the colony would continue to celebrate racist butchers like Crowther whilst continuing to sweep it's ongoing colonisation under the rug. We can't erase history, but we can tear down the horrible colonialists who have disgraced it until we wake up to the reality of colonisation on this continent."
"Long live the kanak struggle. Down with the colonial state"
Graffiti in Montreuil, France in solidarity with the anti-colonial movement in New Caledonia, which has been rocked by a major revolt in recent days. The French state has responded to the uprising by imposing a state of emergency and sending in additional security forces from France to subdue the restive population.
