TWO THINGS
Tumblr media
1) I’m learning Nålbinding! I went to my first SCA event last weekend (midrealm crown tourney, twas very fun) and they had a crafters corner, and I sat down for four hours on sunday while the fights were going on and was taught by a very lovely eastern europen lady. I picked it up real quick, and I’m making a hat!
2) I just successfully did my first russian join, which will make nålbinding with acrylic a hell of a lot nicer.

I don't know what to say.. I started the jacket 10 months ago. What a journey! I'm so proud and happy!
Thanks for your lovely and kind words and the overwhelming interest! Happy stitching everyone.

well I’m certainly interested, I hope more folks are! you did such a good job with these, I’m sure these patterns would do really well. (and if you’d ever want a tester I’d so be down!)
I've been crocheting a bunch of pokemon recently, here's Charmander and a couple of Jigglypuffs!

A blanket that took me about 6 months to make. I like having a blanket as a longterm mindless project while I work on things I really have to concentrate on. It was originally a baby blanket pattern, but I doubled the width measurement and the row counts for each section to get an adult sized blanket.

Hi there crochet tumblr I’ve got a question! I’m making a blanket, and I’m creating these different squares so that I can do surface crochet designs on them, and then put them all together. I want to block this blanket so it will be more comfy, but I don’t know at what point to do it since I’m doing surface crochet?? Would it be blocking them as they are now, or after I do the surface crochet designs, or after I do the designs and bringing together all into blanket and weaving in ends? Also it’s mostly acrylic yarn, so I’m not sure what wash would be best to do when putting it in bath? I definitely need something hypoallergenic if possible!

if a crochet pattern tells you to do a slip stitch border, don't listen to it, that's the devil speaking

Anybody have some nice scarf patterns that only take about 250 yards of yarn? Or other ideas for what I could use this pretty yarn I got for Xmas for, cus I guess it doesn't NEED to be a scarf, technically...
Tumblr media
It's a little darker than it looks in this picture btw, and it's 60% wool and 40% silk, and a bit thinner than worsted weight, and I think it might do well in a subtle lace stitch maybe...
Any ideas???

Other poll here. For yarn craft people once again. ps i’m defining notions as stitch markers, row counters, chart reader etc. the small not completely necessary but nice to have supplies

Love how crocheting is just 99%, "Wtf did I do wrong???" and undoing the whole project just to realize that you didn't do anything wrong in the first place
