Understand, I am not asking how often you start fics/drafts that you just don't get around to finishing and therefore don't get posted. I mean something you sit down and fully write, but it's just for you?

Hi! Thank you so much for this ask. I'm really glad you're enjoying the fic! I've been having a lot of fun working on it, and Chapter 4 is in the works right now. As for the faery skin, it looks like an overlay on the reader's natural skin tone (since it's a reader insert fic, that's whichever skin tone you choose to picture!) which is iridescent in some ways! The iridescence can be more similar to mother-of-pearl, like this:
or it can resemble an oil slick, like this:
It might look different in different spots on the reader's body, but the key trait is the iridescence!
I'll definitely tag you in the next chapter of the fic when it comes out! Thank you so much for the ask. Never underestimate how much getting one of these can make a writer's day <3

It's especially nice to meet another Barduil fan, and additionally someone who also dabbles in x reader fic! I find there's not a ton of overlap between the two groups, so I'm glad I'm not alone. The tone of my question about Thranduil's potential blindness in the Wrecking Ball series could be read as bad or accusatory?? so I want to state that was not my intent, I am genuinely curious if he is blind in one eye (as Thorin's narration stated) or not. I don't know if my ask got lost or seemed rude or if you just Can't Answer because spoilers but I just wanted to clarify that I didn't mean anything bad by asking. I adore the band AU/thunder road/wrecking ball verse, whatever the best name for it is.
It didn't seem rude, and it doesn't constitute a spoiler. Your asks (like many asks lately) ran headlong into my tendency to hoard asks without answering them, followed shortly after by my tendency to get overwhelmed by the hoarded asks and not answer any of them. I appreciate you prompting me again!
So, to answer (at long last): Thranduil is blind in one eye in the band AU. To Thorin, this is a Big Deal, just like Thranduil's scars are, but because fixating on the scars isn't something Thorin's comfortable with, he fixates on Thranduil's partial blindness instead. The reason it hasn't come up in Bard's POV is because it's not even sort of a big deal to Bard.
Bard cares about Thranduil's emotional state much more than he cares about the physical effects of the accident (except where those effects cause Thranduil pain or distress). He's aware of Thranduil's blindness, but because it's not as big of a deal to him as it is to Thorin, it hasn't come up in his narration. It's just a fact of Thranduil's life, and their life together, that doesn't need to be commented on.

This goes for anything, from books, to relationships, to jobs, to hobbies, etc.
