He doesn’t know what to expect these days. He’s a monster. Someone who had caused a horrific accident that cost him his family. Who once lived in an abandoned train depot when there hadn’t been anywhere else to go. Derek has treaded dangerous waters for years. He’s used to it. Being alone and left behind. But then, Stiles sticks around. Keeps coming back. Even after everything he’s done, Derek doesn’t understand why this idiotic human tries to save him. Always healing and holding Derek like he cares. "Because I do." "What?" "Really? I love you, even if you’re a stupidwolf."

Stiles gawks at the stunning colonial standing before them. He can’t believe this place is finished. Derek had come up with the righteous idea of building a house. Creating the perfect abode the Pack can live in. It’s not quite like the Hale House, but that’s probably a good thing. Change meant moving on. Opening new doors, seizing opportunities, and all that jazz. Now, this is a place they can call theirs. Derek nudges Stiles gently. "So, what do you think?" Stiles blinks. Licks his lips. Smiles. "It's amazing. You're amazing." The grin that lights up Derek’s face is priceless.

It’s strange being back. Derek doesn’t feel broken like he did when he’d left (again) all those years ago. But something still connects him to this land. Where his family thrived and perished. His wolf had also urged him to return. So, that’s why he’s here. It's not until Derek hears a familiar Jeep roll into parking lot that he realizes there might be another reason. Standing at the door of his loft, he watches a clumsy figure spill out of the elevator. Plaid. Messy hair. Amber eyes. A scent that’s still sweet like honey. Warm. And so very Stiles.
