Happiness
Isn't what i feel
You know what to think
You sit with me
From dawn to dusk
Being together is enough
But life is a challenge
A feeling i hate
Sadness

Future tings
“I wonder if we’ll be in the same place 3 years from now”
Aisha and Chowon sat under a tree next to their school, each licking a halfway melted ice pop. Class had just let out and they were waiting for Noah to meet them as planned.
“Hmm I don't know” sighed Aisha. “I mean, I hope we are- we have to graduate” .
“No, but what if something happens?” Chowon says, looking disturbed.
“I doubt anything that serious will happen” Aisha replies with an eye roll .
“You're only saying that cause you know where you're going to go after graduation, you have something to look forward to”
Aisha couldn't even retort to that comment because Chowon was right. She did have a plan but it's not a very fun thing to talk about.
“The future is uncertain , Chowon”
“Pfft, you sound like those classic novel characters”
“Indeed I do”
They both burst out laughing, their ice pops dripping on the green grass. As they bicker and laugh, Noah approaches them and shakes his head with a smile.
“You guys really can’t keep it together without me huh” He lets out a laugh.
“Says the kid who got held back a year” Chowon replies. “Tell me again how old you are?”
Noah’s greed for mischief during his first year had caused his grades to slip more than he had expected, and before he knew it, he couldn’t move on to the next year. He had promised to be better in the following year and being friends with Aisha and Chowon really showed him what a nice kind of crazy was. A kind that didn’t get you into trouble to say the least.
“Ouch, touched a sour spot Cho” Aisha grimaced.
“It’s fine, he knows I’m joking”
And that he did. Picking up an ice pop stick, Noah threw it at her, still laughing. “It’s not nice to pick on your very bestest friend, but I’ll let that pass for now”.
They continued to chat and laugh as time passed by, the day quickly finishing.

Camera Trails
The sun dipped below the horizon as a young girl crept along the streets near an old apartment building at the edge of town just waiting to be entered. The girl felt a sense of longing, as if she would never walk these streets again. The straps of her camera rested around her neck, marks forming immediately upon touch as she tightly grasped the camera out of fear. The building was old and famously haunted–-those who tried to enter experiencing unimaginable things–but the young girl vowed that would not be the case for herself. Slowly walking towards the building, the young girl stopped for a second, taking in the area around her. Right then, a sudden wind appeared, creating a gastly aura that somewhat felt artificially made. The young girl shivered at the change in weather but kept on moving nevertheless. She stepped foot into the building, glancing around the entrance as the fear slowly left her body at the thought of picturing the eerie location. A smile formed on her face, lifting the light to her eyes.
Click click.
The young girl ambled around some more, taking multiple pictures here and there. Suddenly, the “oh so perfect” vase fell to the ground, shattering into tiny pieces. The girl gave a little jump and her heart skipped a beat at the scene. A cool wind ran through the room despite the lack of windows and amount of heat on that summer night. Feeling a sense of foreboding, she quickly left the room and stepped into the next. As she twisted the old doorknob, she heard a sudden grunt from the inside. The voice came across as masculine and filled with agony. Worry spread through the girl's body, causing her to drop her camera. Picking up the fallen camera, she stood up straight and brushed her fingers against the doorknob for the second time. Placing her ear on the door, the girl listened for more sounds. Another voice accompanied the first but words could not be made out. The girl slowly pushed the door open, careful not to make noise with her camera. She peered into the area and saw nothing that could have made that sound. Quietly tiptoeing into the room, the young girl stood in silence.
Without any notice, the walls of the room changed, leaving the girl confused. The room changed again, this time moving the girl as well. Trying to make sense of this experience, the young girl scoured the room as she did the others. All at once, the door suddenly closed on its own. The girl abruptly turned behind her, staring at the glowing knob. It sparkled and twinkled despite there being no light in the room to make it shine. She cautiously approached the door, touching the knob once again. The sparkling door became normal at her touch, all signs of amiss vanishing. The girl let out a prolonged sigh. Facing back to the room, she let out a sudden gasp at the horrifying view in front of her. In the once normal room, a man laid grunting on the ground, blood spilling out from his abdomen. With every move the man made, a gush of blood fell to the old aged floor, causing the girl to feel severely nauseous. A blood covered knife dropped to the floor as a gangly man started to walk towards the young girl. He screamed her name over and over, the letters sluggishly falling from his lips. He leaped over a chair to reach her.
The girl gripped onto her camera once more and ran straight out of the room in a hurry. Continuing to sprint towards the entrance of the building, the girl let out multiple tears, fearing for her life. The air in the apartment became shallow and concentrated as she tried to dash out. As she approached the exit, a young boy arose from under a small table and called out to her. He had big, dull brown eyes and looked vastly pale from the lack of sun. The boy reached out and pulled on the young girl's sleeve, his lips quivering. She gripped his hand to pull him outside but he pulled her back in. She asked him why he was stopping her from leaving this horrendous place. He pointed at the old clock hanging on the wall with a smirk and replied,
“Nobody ever leaves this building”.

Does the wind blow on purpose?
———————————————————
Leaves flew through the air as pieces of dirt threatened to fly into Aisha’s half closed eyes. Her maroon hijab wasn't made for the heat nor the winds of summer, trying to fall off her head. “What does the world have against me?”, she thought.
Letting out a short grunt, she put one hand on her head and quickly ran into the school. Her friends waited for her at the edge of the classroom they've been secretly using since the start of the semester. Aisha jogs towards them, her hand no longer on her head.
“What took you so long?” Noah huffed, crossing his arms. A smirk slowly spread across his face as he watched her pant from the sudden jog.
“Sorry, Ammi made me watch Zain all afternoon, plus Chowon took too long on call” she said.
Chowon shrugged her shoulders, showing no shame.
“Maybe you should just hang up next time,” she said, flicking her hair behind her shoulder.
Leading them into the room, Chowon handed them each their editing checklist which was for their recently shot vlog and podcast.
“Aisha, edit the vlog and make sure to not add that creepy bgm this time” she shuddered.
“It's not that bad, you just need to watch more horror films,” Aisha replied.
They both sent each other playful stares, giggling. A hand cut between their views, breaking the staring contest.
“Get to work girls”
Placing her supplies on a near table, Aisha grabbed her tablet and sat on a window cushion. She peered through the window, letting out a sigh. The afternoon sun was slowly covered by the well waited clouds, creating the shadows of summer’s eight o’clock. The trees shifted in large movements, the wind being the obvious culprit.
“I wish I was the wind,” she muttered. “I’d blow all my responsibilities way”
Her mom had left for work early again, leaving her in charge of her little brother for the hundredth time. That on top of school work was enough to wear her down.
“Did you say something?” Chowon asked from across the room. “You're whispering again”
Snapping out of the trance she was in, she looks up to see her friends staring at her. “Oh, i didn't say anything, sorry”.
They gave a little shrug and continued their work. Aisha bite her lip, hard, trying to focus on the task in front of her. This happened frequently, her mind always thinking about something else. Her eyes slowly shift back to the window and the world outside the classroom. A blue bird flew by, swiftly landing on a tree. Soon after it’s landing, three little birds came out and seemingly called out for food.
Letting out a little giggle, Aisha brought her tablet to the edge of the window a took a picture of the birds. After minutes of staring, she let out a yawn, eyes feeling a little heavy. She looked towards her friend and saw them bickering with each other, paying no mind to her. “I guess I’m the only one not working”, she thought.
Laying her head down on the cushioned seat, she slowly closed her eyes, falling into a deep sleep.

what is love to you?
Love is that little knowing smile you pass between you and your friends. Love is laughing absurdly loud because you feel comfortable. Love is in the little hugs and pats of comfort. Love is picking a piece of hair or fluff off of someone's clothes. Love is being there for someone. Love is them being there for you as well. Love is in the little habits we establish. Love is knowing that you trust each other. Love is sitting up curled up on the couch while watching a movie.
Love is eating your favorite food. Love is taking care of yourself, getting out that face mask you bought ages ago or a simple bubble bath. Love is the scent of you favorite candle. Love is looking up at a beautiful sky and being grateful for being alive. Love is petting a cat. Love is in the things you enjoy doing. The things that fill you up with so much joy and comfort you don't know how to contain it.
Love is looking at a person and knowing that you would do anything for them. Love is in the words we say. The words we write. The words we listen to. Love can be a gentle whisper, comforting you in your darkest times. Love can be loud screaming, cheering you on during a game. Love is an ache in your heart. Love rips you apart from the inside out. Love pieces you back together. Love is what makes you believe you can survive that ache more than once.
