i only ask bc i default to present tense in my writing, even though i think past looks better and prefer to read past. i'll start out writing past and get two pages in, and realize that somewhere along the line i switched to writing in fucking present again. it's bizarre.
if you don't know what this means -
past tense: He was a fun guy. He liked going to concerts, and he had a ton of friends who all wanted to spend time with him. This weekend, he planned on going to Pride, where he was going to march in a parade.
present tense: He's a fun guy. He likes going to concerts, and he has a ton of friends who all want to spend time with him. This weekend, he's planning on going to Pride, where he's going to march in a parade.
