月の美しい夜だった。私達はケイトウの花を買うために、片道2kmほどの距離を歩いた。今の時期に花屋の店頭に並ぶのは、秋の花ではなく、ポインセチアやシクラメンの、冬の花がメインであることは承知で、薄暗い月夜の道を歩いた。目的地のスーパーの中に併設されている花屋には、やはりケイトウの花はなく、空振りに終わったが、それで良かった。妻は月の写真を楽しそうに撮影しながら歩いていたし、私も妻の楽しそうな姿を見るのは嬉しかった。四季折々の姿を見せてくれるこの街を愛している。妻と歩くようになり、違った視点で見つめることができて、嬉しい。
