Atlanta Wedding Photographers Capture A Beautiful Skyline Ceremony
This week’s wedding is Kristen and BJ.  They are a younger couple who fell in love a few years ago.  They are such a sweet and thoughtful couple with some amazing friends and family!
The wedding took place at the Peachtree Club on Peachtree Street.  They have a large room for the bride off of the main dining area and a large sort of study for the groomsmen.  Both have great views of Atlanta.  They have a large dining room for your guests where they will be served great food by some of Atlanta’s top chefs and the staff is always wearing tuxedos.  Connecting to the dining room is the terrace.  It gives a spectacular view of the Atlanta skyline and beautiful sunsets.
When I arrived I started with the guys while Tara worked with the girls.  The guys got ready first so we did their shots on the Terrace. They were a fun bunch of guys!  After their photography was done they went back to their room.   They guys made toasts to the groom and the groom asked some of the guys to be the godfather to his child that are expecting this month.  It was a truly touching moment that made me a little weepy.  Just a lot of good vibes all around the room.
After that it was time for the ceremony.  The guests filled their seats that were on the terrace as they enjoyed the view from the 12th floor terrace.  The bridal party lined up in the dining room with the brides grandparents coming out first.  After the bridal party got lined up in front of the guests the bride came out with her dad escorting her.  I could tell how the dad was so proud of his daughter as he soaked up the moment.  The ceremony included an exchange of letters that the bride and groom wrote to each other.  They put the letters in a box with a wine bottle so they could share the letters and a bottle of wine on their anniversary.  It was very thoughtful.
After the ceremony the guests went inside for a sit down dinner.  It was a seven course meal that included steak and delicious crab cakes.  Once everyone was done with dinner BJ and Kristen cut the wedding cake.  Then they sat down at the sweetheart table as the bridal party gave their toasts.  After the toasts the timing was perfect for their sunset photos on the terrace.  I could not have asked for a better couple or lighting!
It was a spectacular wedding with some great friends!  They ended the night with a sparkler exit through the courtyard in front of the entrance.  It was a perfect ending to a wonderful day!

The Bankhead Avenue Bridge once carried US Highway 78 across railroad tracks and into downtown Atlanta. It now stops abruptly in mid air

Just a photo dump of the last month or so. Los Angeles, the NAACP Image awards, a house show, Pac & Biggie pic inside a suburban white house, we’ve had a month.

Atlanta Wedding Photographers Share Unique Event Venues
As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I get excited when a bride and groom choose a location that is unique and reflects their personality.  May it be a historical venue that reflects their love of the old city or you want a venue that has great views of the modern city and historic park.
Delta Flight Museum, is a venue that is very unique and is a symbol of modern Atlanta.  Atlanta is a Delta hub which means most connecting flights go through Atlanta so there are a lot of people that are connected to Delta.  The Delta Flight Museum is housed in a couple of connected renovated historic airplane hangars built in the 1940’s.  In 2011 the museum was designated a Historic Aerospace Site. There is close to 70,000 square feet of event and meeting space.  You can have your wedding under a 747 or have a smaller wedding in one of the smaller museum areas.  As an Atlanta wedding photographer I just love that there are so many unique photo opportunities for the aviation lover!  There is a Delta iconic 21 passenger Douglas DC-3, a DC-7B and a static DC-9 one of the first early commercial passenger planes.  If you are a pilot and love old planes I would suggest the Delta Flight Museum for your wedding.
There is a new unique venue that just came on the scene and it is Guardian Works.  The Atlanta wedding photographers at Atlanta Artistic Weddings were one of the first to photograph a wedding there. It is located in the Echo Street West 19 acre community development near the new Westside Beltline.  The renovated 1908 beam and brick building features 8,000 square feet of air conditioned event space and 4000 square feet of sheltered patio space that steps down to 10,000 square feet of courtyard and porch space.  The space is operated by Novare Events.  They are one of the biggest and best event space operators.  You will see them mentioned a couple of times in this blog.
The one event space that has the best Atlanta skyline view is Ventanas.  It is a modern Atlanta wedding venue that is located by Centennial Olympic Park, a beautiful park located in the center of downtown Atlanta.  It is a turnkey event venue with hotels next to it, a kitchen catering company located on the premises, and a beautiful event space.   It has floor to ceiling windows to give you a panoramic view of downtown and midtown Atlanta.  You can even see Stone Mountain and Kennesaw Mountain from their balcony.  When you look down from the two story event space you can see Centennial Olympic Park and the Georgia Aquarium.   The best feature of Ventanas is the helipad located on the roof.  When you have a helipad on the roof you have a beautiful skyline view of the city and if you like you can make a dramatic wedding exit in a helicopter!
One the coolest places in Atlanta is located in the middle of the city at Piedmont Park it is the Piedmont Room.  As an Atlanta wedding photographer it has some of the most beautiful settings around.  The Piedmont Room was built in 1928 as the clubhouse for the golf course that resided in Piedmont Park.  It is built with Stone Mountain granite walls.  The ballroom is surrounded with floor to ceiling windows that give you a view of Piedmont Park and the Atlanta Skyline.  When you get married there they have several areas for the ceremony and photos.  You can just take a step outside of the venue and you are in the middle of Piedmont Park.  A lot of people rent golf carts and quickly travel to some of the parks most scenic backgrounds.  At the end of the night for your exit you go through those handmade wrought iron gates.  A perfect cap to a perfect wedding location.
One of the more elegant and larger wedding venues is the Biltmore Ballrooms.  Built in 1924 as part of the Biltmore Hotel, it was a meeting place for Atlanta’s business and social events.  In 1999 The Biltmore went through a total renovation to and was restored to its original grandeur.  It was then added to the National Register of Historic Places.  The ballroom has handmade plaster and relief ceilings, Palladian windows, Tennessee marble floors and large restored crystal chandeliers that lights up the ballroom to let you know you are in a very special space. There is a courtyard by the building entrance where you enter through brass doors and through a porch that is supported by large marble columns.  It is an Atlanta wedding photographer's dream location and is full of elegance.
