That is actually really fucking smart i LOVE the idea putting darkstalker in chrysalis place (i assume your reading) That's really really fun. I love readings of darkstalker where he is like completely obsessed and over the moon dippy in love with clearsight.

I reread DS recently (this is not to stamp on peoples parades im just yapping) and i think it's interesting that in canon, darkstalker has almost no interest in clearsight..at least in my view. In other dragons POVS, he is loveydovey and takes her out and stuff, gives her gifts etcof course of course. But he never thinks about his affection for her in his own POV. He is honestly mainly just focused on how her visions are annoying/how he gets in her way all the time. And we find out later the gifts he gives her are also towards this end, to get her to be more obedient and fit his view. Her personality, her life, the things she likes, and her wellbeing are not terribly important to him. Hes willing to ditch her ("maybe there would be no queen on the throne beside him") the second she might betray him, instead of worrying why she betrayed him...etc, we all know DS is manipulative but i think the extent is important. SO i think it's funny that "darkstalker is dippy in love with CS!!" is kind of a popular interpretation(?)/common fandom view because its barely true at all.

AND: Here's the point i was coming to: i think it's fun to apply this to this song. Because chrysalis didn't really love shining armour. And she was ready at a hair to betray him, change him to suit her vision of a happy kingdom for the changelings. What chrysalis loved out of shining armour was a means to an end and also to exhibit a form of spite over anyone else who wanted him.
