I love how every now and again I'll drop by on Twitter and see a video of somebody use a piece of food for a craft or something and then without fail there will be a "call out post" about it bringing up the things happening in Gaza. As if using one stick of celery for administering leopard print onto hair is singlehandedly contributing to the calculated and horrifying warcrimes that the IDF is inflicting upon the Palestine population. Instead of... I don't know... Israel bombing aid trucks and ambulances to ensure that help doesn't reach them????

Like??? You??? You do realize that that kind of mentality only ADDS to the problem, right???

It's giving the same vibes of my old WHITE grandparents telling me to "finish my food" because "there's kids starving in Africa"

The food was never meant to make it to Africa. Even if I didn't finish it. While they were attempting to teach me the worth of food and to be grateful for the work that goes into a meal, they accidentally harbored an unhealthy relationship between me and food.

And while that's frustrating in itself, it's something that a lot of people have called out as wrong and we as a society are starting to unlearn. Because we know that it's harmful.

And now, people are attempting to replace it with the REAL ISSUES happening in Gaza????

No.

No. We're not doing that.

We are not going to pull a capitalist 180° and point the blame at random people sharing creativity. Let's keep the blame right where it fucking belongs. On the people that are ACTUALLY inflicting the violence. And instead of BLAMING people who are simply just existing, MAYBE we should actually point them to sources so they CAN do something to help those that are struggling. Okay?
