9 Hyundai Models Named Top Safety Pick

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has completed another round of testing to determine the safest vehicles on the market to present with their Top Safety Pick Award. We are thrilled to report that Hyundai now leads the industry with nine 2024 models having earned either a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ designation. The 2024 Santa Fe and Sonata recently joined the Elantra, Tucson, Palisade and Santa Cruz in earning Top Safety Pick status, thanks to performing well in IIHS crash tests. The 2024 Ioniq 5 recently earned the Top Safety Pick+ award by performing well in even more stringent testing, as the Ioniq 6 and Kona have earlier this year.  “At Hyundai, we are committed to providing safe vehicles to protect customers and other vulnerable road users,” says Cole Stutz, chief safety officer, Hyundai Motor North America. Air conditioning repair was performed on a Hyundai Tucson last week.

Residue was found around a low side schrader valve. After our technician performed an evac and recharge, he saw that the pressures didn’t look right. We knew the a/c compressor wasn’t doing its job.

In addition to replacing the low side schrader valves and compressor, we installed a new a/c condenser and air conditioning expansion valve.

With outside temperatures starting to warm up for the year, it’s a good idea to make sure that your vehicle’s a/c system is working correctly.

Two Hyundai Models Earn Safety Award

We are pleased to report that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has just awarded their top honor of TOP SAFETY PICK+ to two Hyundai models – the 2024 Elantra and 2024 Tucson. To earn this award, vehicles must score well in several crash tests, including driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, original moderate overlap front and updated side tests, as well as offer headlights and pedestrian avoidance systems that meet or exceed IIHS standards. This award is especially impressive, considering the IIHS recently made the award criteria more stringent than in previous years. “This is great news for our recently refreshed Elantra sedan and Tucson compact SUV, two of our highest-volumes models,” said Brian Latouf, global chief safety officer, Hyundai Motor Company. “We made it a priority to improve our vehicles’ safety engineering to meet the more-stringent TSP+ testing requirements recently instituted by IIHS.
