Emilie Graham de Vanily spent her life training to be a ballerina. All she wanted to do was perform. One of her most famous performances was that of the ballet Le Papillon. It was there on that set that she met Gabriel Agreste---only a seamstress's assistant at the time, with big dreams of becoming a famous fashion designer one day.
Unfortunately, Emilie's time in the spotlight as a ballerina would be short-lived. A devastating injury sharply ended her career. Hoping to achieve the next best thing, Emilie turned her sights to becoming an actress. Another flame, it seemed, destined to burn out too quickly...

Papillon!! 🦋
I couldn’t resist sharing this one right away. I really just wanted to draw 1) his gorgeous lips and 2) a butterfly on his finger. It turned into a very nice drawing. I’ll probably paint him later. …He’s kinda hot to me now. I had to ignore the show’s stylization with the giant eyes to see that.

Artbook translation: Pergue, Mr. Pigeon, and Le Mime
Early concpet - Evil organization* Pergue
Hawkmoth’s early model, Papillon, is the head of the evil organization Pergue. Papillon’s real name is Richard Sphinx and has insight into the future with the help of the kwami Null’s supernatural power.
He has enormous wealth and eloquence, and is obsessed with wealth and a desire of domination to forget the pain of his missing wife.
Papillon’s kwami Null is planning to change the work back to the state of zero, and Tikki and Plagg each got trapped in the earrings and ring due to Null.
Unlike Hawkmoth, who works alone currently, Papillon works as an organization and is with his capable secretary, Pokerface. Pokerface’s real name is ‘Adoni Duther’**.
She has the power to make every emotion from people of the world disappear. Pokerface loves Papillon, but understands it is an emotion unachievable, and serves as Papillon’s loyal secretary.
Mr. Pigeon
An ornithologist who believes pigeons are the smartest. He invents various weapons that can control pigeons, and the most powerful weapon Mr. Pigeon invented is a weapon that corrode objects with pigeon poo. He has the power of the kwami Becil***, who represents foolishness.
Le Mime
Every performance art the mime artist Le Mime does can turn into a real event. For example, if Le Mime pretends to hold a hammer, someone will really get hit by a hammer. With the help of Mimic, the kwami with the ability of miming, he continues committing crimes.
(Early Miraculous Ladybug)
(Ladybug)
(Chat Noir/Felix)
(Quantic Kids)
(Translation notes in readmore)
*In literal translation, it's actually 'Villain organizaion'. I thought 'Evil organization' would be more natural, so used that instead
**There is no romanization for 아도니 두서, so this is what I presume. I chose 'Adoni' because I found that according to Wiktionnaire, 'Adonis' in French means a type of butterfly
***Like Adoni Duther, this 베실 has no romanization too. I presumed it as 'Becil', because of the word 'imbecile'

The plot of the October 2012 and 2013 bibles revolves around how Papillon had stolen the Orb of the Akouma and is using it to cause problems in Paris. Fu seperately enlists Marinette and Adrien to help recover the orb- but they are kept distracted due to constant Akouma attacks.
Adrien (who still holds the "Felix" design) had gotten a bit of a rework. In the previous July 2012 bible, Felix was the son of faraway rich parents- and Papillon was NOT A PART OF THE SERIES. . This is the first appearance of him, and he is very interesting.
Papillon would actively arrive on the scene to dispense Akouma.
... and he was actually posessed himself.
Very interesting, kind of scary. I like it.
Oh? Where did that Felix come from? It's there in French version as well.. Anyway, Here, his father is referred to as Gabriel when clearly this is Richard Sphinx... and where is Adoni or Null? Hmmm. I feel like there is still a lot to know about precanon, we are missing many many parts.
In the June 2014 bible, the story has dropped Adrien's bad leg, and went full-in on him being a model..
Here gabriel has many many brands. he ven has his own bank! A powerful man indeed.. I think this may be a carryover...
He is states to have a fear of leaving the house.
Kaan seems to be precursor to Nooroo.
His goal has been evil and domination from the outset. There is no implied "ulterior motive" and his goal is tied directly to the fear of leaving the house. The mother side-plot hasn't been considered yet.
