“Max,” Daniel calls to him from the bedroom, just as he is rinsing the shampoo from his hair. Not wanting shampoo in his eyes or his mouth, Max keeps them all firmly shut.
“Baby?” Daniel says again, louder.
The warm water is a gentle relief running over his sweat sticky skin, nowhere near the scalding temperatures Daniel sets their shower to at home. It’s why Max had insisted that they clean off separately, the Austin heat far too much for Max to endure boiling water too, despite Daniel’s pouting and dramatic insistence that Max couldn’t just ‘fuck and flee.”
“Yes,” he calls when all the suds are safely sliding past his shoulders, but he didn’t need to shout. When he opens his eyes he sees Daniel leaning against the doorway with a smirk, still wearing his unbuttoned satin shirt, cowboy hat and nothing else. His wedding ring sits heavy on his finger, and Max thumbs over the matching one on his own hand.
Max’s come is a shiny presence he can still see smeared between Daniel’s thighs.
The sight of him makes Max’s dick twitch. Daniel notices and his grin only widens.
“Baby,” he says again, too sweet. “Baby, why is your most recent Google search is it weird that my husband saying yeehaw makes me come?”
And just like that, Max suddenly longs for a hot shower, an excuse for why his cheeks start to burn red.
“Why are you snooping through my phone?” He demands, forcing himself not to turn away casually and instead keep rubbing the hotel’s own body wash under his armpits.
“I wasn’t snooping,” Daniel says easily, “I was looking to get us some ribs delivered, my phone died at the track, remember?”
Max makes a noncommittal noise because vaguely he does remember Daniel saying he needed to put it on charge. That was before Max started pawing at him the moment the hotel door shut behind them though, and then it had been forgotten by both of them.
There’s just the noise of the extractor fan whirring for a moment, but Daniel doesn’t move. When Max sneaks a glance at him, he’s still leaning against the door frame looking amused.
“Sooo.” He drawls out the word in the stupid Texas accent that Max wishes he didn’t find so strangely sexy. “Are we going to talk about this, little lady, or-“
“Nope,” Max says firmly, turning off the shower.
Daniel nods. It makes the lights of the bathroom catch on his chain and Max- Max really wants to fuck him again.
“What about the one below it?” He asks, “Daniel Ricciardo Austin 2023 photos?”
“Nope,” Max says again, stepping out of the shower and reaching for his towel. He’s smiling now too, because he knows that beneath Daniel’s teasing that one will have made him happy to see.
“Okay,” Daniel says, then he unlocks Max’s phone. “What about how to ask my husband to-“
“Daniel,” Max interrupts, taking the phone from his hand and putting it into the empty sink. “Do you want to read more of my internet history, or do you want to get back on the bed and play good cowboy, bad cowboy again?”
Daniel grins, takes the cowboy hat from his head and puts it onto Max’s. When his arms wind around Max, the silky fabric of his shirt presses cool against Max’s shower-warm skin, his nipples.
“Well, when you put it like that,” Daniel says, leaning in to put his mouth on the skin just beneath Max’s ear. “Yeehaw, baby.”
Max laughs and pinches Daniel’s ass, at the same time as his dick twitches again. Backing him out of the bathroom, towards the bed, his phone is forgotten in the bathroom.
Google never had all the answers when it came to them, anyway.

Toto Wolff reveals Mercedes will make 'fundamental design changes' to next season's car
Toto Wolff reveals Mercedes will make 'fundamental design changes' to next season's car... as team principal hopes to make Lewis Hamilton and George Russell title contenders in 2024 Hamilton and Russell are a long way off Max Verstappen in this year's standings  Mercedes hope to be challenging the Dutchman for wins later in the season  Wolff though has revealed Mercedes will make big changes for their 2024 car  By Kieran Lynch For Mailonline Published: 11:56 EDT, 22 June 2023 | Updated: 11:56 EDT, 22 June 2023 Toto Wolff has revealed that Mercedes will make 'fundamental' changes to their 2024 car to enable Lewis Hamilton and George Russell to challenge for next season's title. Red Bull have dominated the 2023 season, with Mercedes' closest challenger, Hamilton, a massive 93 points behind Verstappen after only eight races. They have shown improvement in recent races, with podium finishes in recent races in Spain and Canada - after introducing a major upgrade to their W14 challenger in Monaco last month. The sport's yearly cost cap of £105.6m gives teams less funding to spend on large developments, but Wolff insists Mercedes will have the flexibility to make big changes to next season's challenger.  As per Sky Sports, Wolff said: 'We have set up a huge organisation in our financial department of 46 people, that monitors the cost cap down to the last screw. Toto Wolff has revealed Mercedes will make 'fundamental' changes to next season's car Despite improvements since a recent upgrade package, they remain a long way off Red Bull Wolff hopes to provide drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell a title contender next year 'We look at that trend of our spend during all of the year and what we've done is basically allocate resource to various projects. 'We've stayed below that line all year last year, and we're still below that line this year and that is considering a normal development switch for next year. This is still pretty much on track. 'The good thing is that we are constantly learning about what the car is doing. There are going to be some fundamental design changes for next year, but it's not that we're building stuff. It's more like what are we simulating?' Verstappen is on course to win his third consecutive drivers' title, after his victory in Montreal was his sixth out of the opening eight races this season. Hamilton finished 14 seconds behind the Dutchman in third, behind Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso. While George Russell was on course to finish in fourth before a crash into the wall ruined his race and later caused him to retire. Though more drastic changes will be made to next season's car, Wolff revealed in Montreal that an upgrade package will be introduced at the British Grand Prix in two weeks time. Chief technical officer Mike Elliott, said their upgrades introduced at Monaco performed better than predicted in Canada, and that they hope for strong results in the next two races in Austria and Silverstone - tracks which should better suit their car.  Elliott said in Mercedes' Canadian Grand Prix debrief video: 'I think where we have seen the car struggling is more in the low-speed corners and so we start looking at circuits that have got more medium and high-speed content; we think we will do better there. Max Verstappen is already on course to winning his third title with six wins from eight races 'So, Silverstone will be a good example of that. Austria shouldn't be too bad for us either. So let's hope we go well on both of those.' Mercedes, who dominated the sport from 2014 to 2021, have won just one race since the start of 2022 - Russell's Brazilian GP win last November.  Hamilton, who has won a record 103 races over his career, is currently on a 31-race streak without a victory - with his last triumph coming at the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.  Share or comment on this article: Toto Wolff reveals Mercedes will make 'fundamental design changes' to next season's car via Formula One | Mail Online https://www.dailymail.co.uk?ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&ito=1490

F1 star George Russell slams Australian Grand Prix in conversation with Novak Djokovic
F1 star George Russell slams the Australian Grand Prix in revealing conversation with tennis icon Novak Djokovic - and he doesn't mince words about the sport's punishing schedule  George Russell slams the Australian GP  Russell criticises sport’s governing body  Mercedes star calls Aussie GP 'a killer' By James Cooney For Daily Mail Australia Published: 22:10 EDT, 12 April 2023 | Updated: 22:10 EDT, 12 April 2023 Formula 1 star George Russell has been caught on camera complaining about the Australian Grand Prix in a conversation with tennis ace Novak Djokovic. The 24-year-old Mercedes driver showed up at the Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament in France this week to watch the Serb superstar compete. Russell, a long-time tennis fan, watched on as the 22-time Grand Slam champion cruised past Ivan Gakhov in straight sets to make the third round. Following the match, the Brit met up with Djokovic and the pair posed for some photos and made small talk. 'What's the stage now? Where are you guys going for the next one?' asked Djokovic. Formula 1 star George Russell has been caught on camera complaining about the Australian Grand Prix in a candid conversation with tennis ace Novak Djokovic (pictured together) The F1 star didn't mince words when it comes to the Australian Grand Prix and the exhausting toll it takes on the drivers 'We've got Azerbaijan next. We've just come back from Melbourne,' Russell responded. Djokovic then questioned Russell about the recovery timeframe for drivers following the trip down under. The F1 star then admitted what he really thinks of the event and the exhausting toll it takes on the drivers.  'Melbourne's a killer,' Russell said. 'I mean, it's probably taken a week to come back. 'We were meant to go to China next week so we've actually got a couple of weeks off. Then Azerbaijan and then the season really kicks off. Then Miami.' Djokovic went on to slam F1 bosses for not coordinating taking drivers' needs into account with the sport's schedule. Russell indicated that those complaints had already been made to the competition's top brass, but to no avail.  Russell indicated that drivers' complaints about the F1 schedule have fallen on deaf ears Russell is pictured after suffering a nightmare exit from the Australian GP earlier this month 'No, no, no, we've had a few conversations about this because we are left, right and centre,' Russell says. F1 chiefs have indeed discussed freshening up the sport's calendar as they look to lower freight costs and reduce its carbon footprint. 'I think if you look at the calendar, it makes sense to group some of the races together,' Red Bull boss Christian Horner told media in 2022.  'Whether it's some of the American races, some of the Asian races, Europe, obviously. Some of the calendar this year when you look at the geographics of it, Azerbaijan to Montreal, going to Australia for a weekend, it's about as expensive as you could make it.' Timeline of Madison Chock/Evan Bates' Career and Relationship: Part 4/5
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four: A New Coaching Team and a New Renaissance
April 7, 2018 - Madi gets ankle surgery
April 18, 2018 - Rumors start circulating that Madi and Evan inquired about moving to Montreal.
April 22, 2018 - Rumors start circulating that Madi and Evan were accepted to train at Montreal
May 25, 2018 - Madi and Evan officially announce their move to Montreal. They won’t physically be there until Madi is cleared by the surgeons. Until then, they will stay in Colorado.
Fan reception was mixed. Most fans agreed that they needed to move away from Igor in the next quad since their material and skating had gotten stale. However, Montreal was getting very crowded, as many teams were moving to the training complex after their success with Papadakis/Cizeron, Hubbell/Donohue, and Virtue/Moir.
Fans worried that Madi and Evan would get lost in the shuffle at such a large school, like what had happened when they were training under Marina and Igor.
Madi and Evan explained that they wanted to train at a large training complex since they missed the environment at Canton.
July-August, 2018 - Madi and Evan move to Montreal
October, 2018 - Madi and Evan withdraw from their first Grand Prix assignment, GP Helsinki, due to Madi’s recovery.
November, 2018 - Madi and Evan withdraw from their second Grand Prix assignment, Rostelecom.
January, 2019 - Madi and Evan make their season debut at the Mentor Torun Cup in Poland. Their programs are received well by both fans and judges.
January, 2019 - US Championships
Madi and Evan place second overall
The result was more predetermined, because Hubbell/Donohue had gained a lot of momentum in the fall season by winning the Grand Prix Final. Even though fans were lukewarm on Hubbell/Donohue’s programs, Madi and Evan didn’t have a chance at beating them when they had sat out the whole fall season.
Madi and Evan were the definitive fan favorites at the event, with the audience booing their free dance scores when it wasn’t enough to beat Hubbell/Donohue.
In my opinion, this competition was the best of their careers, and their free dance was a special moment for them in their careers as well. Unfortunately, I could not find a video of the free dance for the life of me and NBC Gold has stopped working. If anyone has a video of the free dance, I would legitimately pay to get ahold of it. I had downloaded it on my old computer, but it died, and all I have left are a few gifs of their reactions, which I think paint a decent picture of how emotional it was.
Edit: A lovely commenter pointed out that one link of it still exists! Their performance starts at 1:33:49 in this archive of the full event.
Madi and Evan have also said how this competition was a highlight in their careers.
Tumblr media
In tandem with the free dance, I was never able to watch their Gala, where they skated to Beyonce, so if anyone has a video of that, I would also very much like to see it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
February, 2019 - Four Continents
Madi and Evan were surprise 4CC champions after Hubbell/Donohue messed up their stationary lift in the free dance.
Even though Madi and Evan won largely due to a mistake on Hubbell/Donohue’s end, it was still an extremely strong showing to finish ahead of the two Canadian teams and they scored spectacularly in both the rhythm and free dance segments.
They had to withdraw from the Gala, as Evan’s back started acting up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
March, 2019 - Worlds
Madi and Evan failed to podium at Worlds, but it was still a strong end to an incredible comeback season. I can’t emphasize enough how good both of their programs were this year. So, please just watch them. I think they’re the best programs they’ve ever had. Their videos from Worlds are easy to find on YouTube.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
August, 2019
Madi and Evan debuted their programs at US International Classic, and it was a hit with the judges and fans.
However, there was still a lot of polishing to be done, as the character step was invalidated.
October, 2019 - Internationaux de France
Madi and Evan had fan favorite programs, but they were struggling with levels, especially in the rhythm dance. They almost lost the silver to Guignard/Fabbri due to their lack of cleanliness.
However, their free dance continued to amaze the audience, and their free dance from IdF went viral on Facebook, garnering over 2.5 million views.
They were starting to build some momentum with fan favorite programs, especially compared to Hubbell/Donohue, who were floundering with poor program choices.
November, 2019 - Cup of China
Madi and Evan had a huge victory in the free dance where they got a huge free dance score, beating the reigning world silver medalists, Sinitsina/Katsalapov in the free dance segment, and almost overall.
They were still struggling with levels, but their programs were a huge hit. The free dance score in particular, was significantly higher than what any other team, bar Papadakis/Cizeron, were getting.
December, 2019 - Grand Prix Final
Madi and Evan won the silver medal at the Grand Prix Final.
They were finally able to clean up their rhythm dance, and their free dance scored incredibly again.
They beat out Hubbell/Donohue definitively, and set themselves up as favorites for the US Championships. Again, their free dance scored incredibly and was received with huge acclaim by the audience.
January, 2020 - US Championships
Madi and Evan won their second US title off of the momentum they carried.
Even though Madi almost fell in the rhythm dance, the judges were completely on their side, and they beat out Hubbell/Donohue.
Tumblr media
Madi and Evan’s free dance went viral on YouTube, with over 2.75 million views. Evan cried in the Kiss n Cry when they received their free dance scores, but tried to hide it by hiding behind Madi.
Madi and Evan’s lifts are, of course, amazing.
Tumblr media
February, 2020 - Four Continents
Madi and Evan won their second 4CC title, and the judges proved that they were again on their side. They skated well in the rhythm dance, but Madi had a fluke fall in the free dance on a transition.
Tumblr media
Despite this fall, they still placed first in the free dance and first overall. They were on a great path towards being on the podium at worlds.
March, 2020 - Worlds
The World Championships was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and the world shut down. This was a major roadblock to Madi and Evan’s momentum, as they were the favorites for the bronze medal.
All ice rinks closed until June due to the pandemic, so everyone’s training time was put on sudden hold.
July 11, 2020 - ISU Skating Awards
Madi and Evan (but really just Madi) won the ISU Skating Award for best costume for her Snake Dance dress.

How to Watch (F1) Formula 1 Live Stream Online Free
Get the latest (F1) update on Formula 1 live streaming for free race grand prix online, schedules, date and timing and more information.
The 2021 F1 season is off to in inauspicious start before it even begins. The season-opening Australian Grand Prix — which originally was scheduled for March 21, has been moved to the back of the season and is now set for Nov. 21, 2021.
That would make the Bahrain Grand Prix the first race of the 2021 Formula 1 Live season on Sunday, March 28.
The Chinese Grand Prix also have been moved to a date to be determined, due to ongoing travel restrictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Discussions on when that race could be run are ongoing, F1 says. Meanwhile, look for the Italian Grand Prix at Imola in that April 18 slot.
From there, if all goes according to plan — and it certainly feels a little odd typing that sentence given the state of things — the series would wrap up Dec. 5, 2021, back where it closed out the 2020 season, in Abu Dhabi.
The updated 2021 F1 race calendar now looks as follows:

2018 GPF Preview
And now for the seniors! Unlike the juniors, the videos aren’t uploaded by the ISU, so we can’t promise they’ll work forever. So read quickly and enjoy our preview of the most potentially volatile GPF field we’ve had in years.
Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue USA
Age: 27/27
Season's Best: 200.82
Rhythm Dance: Where in the World is Maria de Buenos Aires
Free Dance: Gratuitous Leo Voiceovers
The reigning US National champions and world silver medalists are also this years top qualifiers to GPF and at least on paper, the favorites to win. They're the most decorated, and have the highest overall season's best, if only by a few tenths. Considering their grueling back to back schedule and that they were the first team to qualify through, that's no mean feat. Their programs have received mixed reception, particularly their free dance which some view as a disappointing step back from their Beth Hart free dance last season that was a much more natural fit for them and their strengths. Hubbell/Donohue have a long history of their programs going over like a lead balloon at the beginning of the season and being steadily improved and reworked until they become fan favorites, like their Tron: Legacy free dance or their 2016/17 blues and hip hop short dance. They already showed great improvement from their debut at US Classic to their grand prix events. Their tango especially is coming along nicely, being right up their alley. With so much time since Skate Canada to develop, and the bonus of not having back to back competitions, Hubbell/Donohue have every chance to reassert themselves and win here. They'll need to avoid silly mistakes and deductions--no more tipping over in the end pose or losing tassels. But at their best, the quality of their skating, power, and amplitude can keep them at the very top.
Alexandra Stepanova/ Ivan Bukin RUS
Age: 23/25
Season's Best: 200.78
Rhythm Dance: Sure It's A Tango
Free Dance: Beth Hart Forever
Stepanova/Bukin have continued their steady rise through the ranks in their sixth senior season, and are now finally ready to contend for the top. They have by far their best set of programs ever and have continued to make steady improvements in their skating and performance quality. Their rhythm dance is less of a tango and more of a Paso but suits them so perfectly it's easy not to care. Their levels on the pattern can be an issue, something that will matter in a field like this with several teams scoring those top GOEs, but they’ve no doubt been working hard on those. Their free dance is a definite fan favorite this season and it pulls together some of their strongest elements in by far the most effective way compared with some of their previous FDs. Less than stellar music choices haven’t highlighted how well their leveled and choreographic elements flow throughout their programs, seamlessly integrating into the choreography, but fortunately that hasn’t been a hindrance this season and they’ve been flourishing with this blues FD. As the team everyone has already been eyeing to win their first national title later this month in the absence of seven-time national champions Bobrova/Soloviev, maintaining their spot as the top qualifier out of the three Russian teams will be important but outright winning this event would be huge momentum.
Victoria Sinitsina/ Nikita Katsalapov RUS
Age: 23/27
Season's Best: 200.38
Rhythm Dance: Surprise Favorite Tango
Free Dance: Peak Traditional Russian Ice Dance
They've always been on the brink of more, but have been held back by a combination of injuries and headcasing. Last season under their switch to Zhulin they showed a lot of progress in their programs and performances, earning a season's best only just behind their domestic rivals Stepanova/Bukin going into Nationals. Unfortunately their trademark nerves reared its ugly head in the short dance, putting them too far behind to contend for silver, and then Nikita's knee injury prevented them from completing their free dance, leaving them off even the alternates list. A year later they're once again in the position to pass Stepanova/Bukin in the first of likely three battles of the top three Russian teams this season. They've shown tremendous mettle thus far this season, following up Papadakis/Cizeron's enormous world record performance with a fantastic skate of their own with a GPF spot on the line, a feat few would have considered them capable of not long ago. If they can keep this up, they're capable of not just a medal, but also of being the top Russian team, and maybe even the winners of this event.
Charlene Guignard/ Marco Fabbri ITA
Age: 29/30
Season's Best: 196.29
Rhythm Dance: Let's Hope The Music Player Works
Free Dance: La La Land
Guignard/Fabbri have been on the bubble for years, a strong, steady team that many felt weren't getting the recognition they deserved. Well they're getting it now, and rightfully so. They clearly were more than ready to seize their chance, putting work into great new lifts, programs that suit them perfectly, an incredible twizzle entry we're still thinking about, as well as just overall improvements to their skating. They have a small height difference but don't let it stop them from executing great lifts. Their tango is a nice, sharp vehicle for them, and their La La Land feels like a wonderfully light breath of fresh air in the current field, with a classically dancey middle section that few teams are bringing to the table this season. The new top Italians may be at their first GPF but are also steady, veteran performers. They may have had a fluke trip on a transition in the free dance in Finland(that still put them only a couple points behind a clean Stepanova/Bukin in that segment) but that's a rare error for them, and they handled the rhythm dance situation flawlessly. They didn't get distracted when the wrong music was played multiple times, and when they were finally able to start delivered an expressive, confident performance that didn't give away the fact that their music was being played too slowly, resulting in an unfair music deduction. Without that deduction they would have won the rhythm dance. Don't count them out just because they're not the flashiest team or haven't received the same hype as some others here-- they're exactly the kind of dark horse team that can come from behind to snatch a medal.
Kaitlin Hawayek/ Jean-Luc Baker USA
Age: 22/25
Season's Best: 184.63
Rhythm Dance: Two Keypoints with left B
Free Dance: The Most Montreal
Hawayek/Baker started their season on the Grand Prix after early withdrawals from the Challenger Series, but were able to use their experience of a full quad competing as seniors to win their first GP gold and earn a spot in their first GPF. They have appealing programs that are solid vehicles for them, and highlight the extra maturity and power they've gained after their coaching change. The big goal for Hawayek/Baker here should be in conquering the rhythm dance. Their scores in that segment have been fairly lackluster thus far, and they've really struggled with the pattern especially, earning a basic level on half the pattern in both outings, as well as getting a level 2 on their midline step sequence. Their PCS and GOE won't be able to supplement their BV in this field, so they'll need every point. Their free dance is very comfortable for them, a style that has served them well for most of their career, with stronger lifts and twizzles, as well as a very nice choreographic slide. With the fairly short turnaround time between IdF and GPF, we're not expecting enormous improvements, but who knows? Maybe those first two outings are just what they needed to get the rust off after a late start to the season, and they could rise above simply aiming for #notlast.
Tiffani Zagorski/Jonathan Guerreiro RUS
Age: 24/27
Season's Best: 183.05
Rhythm Dance: Are there lyrics besides  BESAME MUCHO?
Free Dance: Blues for Lewk
Another team who started their season on the Grand Prix, Zagorski/Guerreiro won their first GP medals and will be competing at their first GPF. Their rhythm dance has been their strength, and in fact one of the strongest tangos in the senior field, and in that segment they can compete at the very top. Where they've really struggled thus far is the free dance. It's a good program, we'd say their best yet, but they've really struggled so far with the execution, which with the new GOE system has absolutely killed their free dance scores. Their levels have been solid, but they need the GOE to contend. Their free dance is a very complex, intricate program that needs time to perform well, time that they've unfortunately lost due to her knee injury. They've had a month since NHK, so a decent amount of time to improve, and indeed already had a smoother performance at Warsaw Cup. If they can combine their already strong BV with crisper execution to get the GOE and PCS they've been missing in the free dance, they could potentially do more than just aim for #notlast.

Alex Ovechkin career goals and rank on NHL all-time scoring list
Tumblr media
Alex Ovechkin continues to charge up the NHL’s all-time goals scored list.
The Capitals captain entered the 2021-22 season sitting on 730 career goals. It put him 164 tallies back of Wayne Gretzky’s chart-topping 894. There have been question marks regarding whether or not he can surpass “The Great One’s” number as “The Great 8” hits the latter years of his career. But, as Gretzky says, he expects him to — and hopes he does — break the all-time record.
NHL POWER RANKINGS: Ovechkin leads surging Capitals
As Ovechkin moves through the record book Sporting News breaks down where he stands and where he’s heading as the march to 895 begins in earnest.
All stats updated on Nov. 8.
NHL’s all-time goals leaders
Over the course of 1,487 NHL games, Wayne Gretzky scored 894 career goals which average out to 0.60 goals per game. By comparison, as of Nov. 8, Ovechkin has 741 goals in 1,209 career games which average out to 0.61.

Over the course of his career, the team Ovechkin has found the back of the net against the most is the Lightning. He’s faced his former Southeast Division rivals 74 times and has notched 49 goals. The next team on the list is the Jets with 48 goals in just 67 games.

Alex Ovechkin’s goals/game by season
If you think, well he’s 36, can he keep producing? Ovechkin is like a fine wine, he’s just getting better with age.
SEASON GP GOALS G/GP 2005-06 81 52 0.64 2006-07 82 46 0.56 2007-08 82 65 0.79 2008-09 79 56 0.71 2009-10 72 50 0.69 2010-11 79 32 0.41 2011-12 78 38 0.49 2012-13 48 32 0.67 2013-14 78 51 0.65 2014-15 81 53 0.65 2015-16 79 50 0.63 2016-17 82 33 0.40 2017-18 82 49 0.60 2018-19 81 51 0.63 2019-20 68 48 0.71 2021 45 24 0.53 2021-22 12 11 0.92
Will Alex Ovechkin pass Wayne Gretzky?
Never say never!
Entering this season, Ovechkin trailed Gretzky by 164 goals. While he’s off to a torrid start, it’s unlikely that he’ll keep finding the back of the net once per game. A reasonable high end might be the 50-goal barrier which he hit most recently in 2018-19, though he did score at a 50-goal pace during the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season.
50 goals over an 82-game season checks in at a 0.61 goals per game pace. If he plays every game moving forward — unlikely to say the least — he would need 269 games (as of Nov. 5) to catch Gretzky. That would be sometime during the 2024-25 season.
Of course, if he continues scoring at a blistering pace, he could get there sooner. Ovechkin’s career-high for goals per game is 0.79 which he set way back in 2008-09. At even the rosiest projection, the earliest Ovechkin could catch Gretzky is midway through the 2023-24 season.
It’s impossible to predict health but needless to say, that’s perhaps the biggest factor in assessing the 36-year-old’s chances at becoming the all-time scoring champ.
How many Rocket Richard Trophies has Alex Ovechkin won?
Awarded to the NHL’s top goal scorer by the NHL Board of Governors, the Maurice Richard Trophy, or commonly called the Rocket Richard Trophy, was provided to the NHL by the Montreal Canadiens in honor of the Hall of Famer. Over the course of 18 seasons with the Canadiens, Maurice led the NHL in goals five times, was the first to score 50 in 50 games in 1944-45 and the first-ever 500-goal scorer in the league’s history. He finished his career with 544 goals in 978 games.
The trophy was first handed out following the 1998-99 season to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim’s Teemu Selanne who led the NHL with 47 goals.
Ovechkin has captured the trophy a record nine times. He could have won it his rookie year but lost out to the Sharks’ Jonathan Cheechoo by four goals and was a goal short in 2009-10.
