I promised myself not to engage in this fandom because of the milkman but after playing the game, he started to grow on me and so do the other residents.

I also personally agree with your headcanon of Francis being completely depressed. He’s just an average guy so he doesn’t see himself as anything special. But then again, I’d like to think he’s dead on the outside and dead on the inside. By that I mean, he’s secretly insane because whatever horrible happened to him in his childhood made him snap one day. I remember someone headcanon him as a serial killer too.

If we ever get a story mode for the game and Francis canonically turns out to be some insane yandere guy, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had more fangirls than he already has or his fans end up loving him more.
