Don’t know if there’s much of a Nancy Drew fan base here, but I thought I would post it anyway because today THE MYSTERY OF THE SEVEN KEYS IS RELEASING!!!! 😭

Playing an ND game on Friday evenings has been a tradition of ours (me and my sisters 💕) for 11 years now. Needless to say, we have long awaited the release of this game…

This is just a quick sketch to celebrate because I had to make SOMETHING for it 🥰

The last of my current batch of Roll for Doodle episodes. I really enjoyed working on this one because I've always had a soft spot for Nancy Drew. I used to read the books a ton as a kid until our local library stopped stocking them. I've since begun collecting some of them, though this piece was specifically made in reference to the Her Interactive game (an original story based on the ND brand rather than on one of the original books). A couple people, despite my best attempts still have funky looking eyes (I'm looking at you Ned and George), but I can accept that.

Jellyfish Specimen Sandwich

Realized I hadn't seen enough art of the god-tier sandwich you can make in Danger on Deception Island and decided to be the change I wanted to see in the world.

I'm making a spread of inventory items from DDI and decided to start with the sandwich you can make at the start of the game. More items to follow, and possibly more spreads. I'm thinking at least SHA and CAR. What would be your favorite inventory spread to see?

Not surprised that the first thing I draw in the New Year is Nancy Drew in cute outfits.

This is for the three other people who have played both of these games but... two mischievous boys with the exact same face who act out because they are upset one of their parents left them, force you to play games with them to progress, wear shorts, and have a penchant for hiding under tables? ST Childhood AU: A take on that night where Nancy played D&D with the party. It's been a long time since I drew to make a comic, but so far I love to ink somehow I got relaxed while doing it! I have a few other ideas for comics, not only for ST, but I think I can handle another one if I can get to write them down on a script one of these days. Hello Drewds! There were not one but two mentions of Ace in public forums in quick succession, so I felt I had to post like it was old times and Nancy Drew was still a going concern… 😭

But onto happier things. First up, our favorite Nancy Drew writer Jen Vestuto commented on the latest (amazing) gif from @nancydrewgifs (& ty to @midnightsnace for reposting):

Such a great moment in a classic episode filled with amazing, hilarious, and touching moments. And this improv was such an Alex (and Ace) move. Ace dadding the Dads is everything, and he did a bang-up job.

Onto TVLine and an article on 30 TV characters with mysterious names. Note the usage of the phrase ‘Nancy’s boyfriend’ 🥺:

This was one of my favorite touches in the series finale (which I happen to love). That glimpse of Ace’s initials was enough confirmation for me that he’s always been Ace Hardy. On top of that, EP Larry Teng all but confirmed it to TV Line when he told them he knew about Ace’s name from “day one, episode one.”

Honestly, ‘Trail of the Missing Witness’ (212, the Grant episode) was really enough confirmation for me—it felt like a ‘Hardy Boys featuring Nancy Drew’ episode to me. Actually, this episode was also written by Jen Vestuto and Melissa Marlette. Coincidence?

Anyway, it was nice to see these acknowledgements of a fan favorite character in one of the best shows that was cancelled too soon. The show thankfully lives on in 62 episodes, fanfics, art, gifs, and fanvids.

So, was the final shot enough evidence to confirm Ace is a Hardy Boy? Also, Larry, what about that Nancy Drew movie? 🍿

Okay, but don’t tell me this crossover couldn’t have happened.
