Suddenly got the craziest fucking idea I've thought of yet:

Zane was originally going to be made to help the elemental alliance in the serpentine wars, per the alliance requesting Julien for something so technologically advanced it'll end the war.

and so Julien started working on Zane during the conflict, and with the elemental alliance providing him with the necessary recourses to create Zane. (metal, wires, screws, schematics and blueprints and other small supplies, a suspiciously powerful and most definitely magical power source, etc).

But the war ends, and the serpentine are sealed away.

So now Julien is left with a half finished robot that wouldn't even have a purpose if it were to be alive, but Julien decides he's going to give it a new purpose.

"If it's not going to be a weapon of war, than it's going to be a weapon of peace."

So he stars reprogramming Zane, from "Mostly human machine designed to fight." to "Almost human machine made to protect those who cannot protect themselves".

He starts adding in extra features for Zane, stuff like breathing, blinking, eating, so he comes off as more human.

he codes in what would be the nindroid equivalent of someone developing a new hobby and getting good at it.

Such as cooking, or perhaps making ice sculptures or even learning how to ride a snowboard considering how he lives in a frozen forest (last one was from Quest For the Lost Powers book).

But he also adds in other stuff to help Zane out in his purpose of protecting, such as a battle ram mode to bust down doors, a lamp head mode to help light out dark areas, being able to shoot out cold air from his hands to cool stuff down without the usage of ice powers (last one was from the start of season 3).

And eventually, he gets so attached to this project of his, that he starts viewing it as more than a machine made to prolong the peace, and by the time he actives Zane for the first time ever, he can't feel but view Zane as a son.

Zane was Julien's life work, "Machine" doesn't do the nindroid enough justice, it doesn't feel right, and it isn't right.

So, even his plans of making Zane a weapon of peace change, and now he views Zane as a son, and as his own person.

Look, I don't care if this headcanon/idea breaks Canon, fuck if I care, but the opportunity is too great, it would would give us an answer to a good number of questions.

one of them being: What was Zane's old power source?

This is a theory and you can take this as a grain of salt, since I know in grim dark archive au the story and headcannons will be completely different. I still can’t wait for the update 😉!

In grim dark archive, I can’t help but think there might a sprinkle of Papa Unicron au in this, except with much more darker implications. In this au, I feel that Unicron does care about humanity, but his feelings are more eldritich-like that would scare the cybertronians and even humans themselves. Think of it like this, since the beginning of the universe there were multiple forces that were chaos, order, creation, and destruction. Unicron and Primus weren’t the only powerful beings in the universe (I bet there were multiple more powerful cosmic entities), but since they were “brothers” and the antithesis to each other. They constantly battled each other for control and order (Primus) or for chaos and change (Unicron). Until Primus had the idea to create the cybertronians to defeat his brother. Meanwhile Unicron would devour planets to not only to gain more power, but to ensure his brother’s creations, don’t spread across the universe. The battle ended with both of them stuck in stasis as planets, while Primus was conscious and controlling the cybertronians, creating a caste system and keeping his favorites in power. Unicron was unconscious and his signals were kept low keeping him hidden from his brother. During his time being unconscious, cells come into contact with dark energon, did life on Earth began to take form. As humans began to evolve, Unicron was able to connect his mind to the billions of minds of the humans living on top of him, and experienced the chaos that happened daily to a human lifespan and how that chaos changes a person’s personality as they grow.

Without a rival to fight against or to subjugate Cybertron began to stagnate and looked within to sate those desires only to create a war that wiped out a huge number of their population and made the planet half dead. While across the galaxy Unicron is living through the lives of a billion humans on Earth.

The difference between the cybertronians and the humans, was that Primus created the cybertronians as tools with the intention of using them to carry out his will in the universe while Unicron unintentionally created humans with no other purpose than to live. To live vicariously through humans and experience their emotions of joy and anger, to feel what motivates them to keep fighting, how one’s own choices sets them on their own path in life, to feel the bonds of love hate, to feel the ravages of time as once strong bodies grow feeble yet wise from their own life experience. I could only image how pissed he would be if a creation of Primus tries to destroy what he sees an extension of himself.

You are on the right track with your idea here! The whole point of my Grim Dark Archives thing is to really drive home how ALIEN these robots are. Its not quite shattered glass, so Unicron is still not going to be the kindest of beings. But with that said, neither is Primus. Those two deities have an interesting attachment to their creations that walks the fence of actual parental affection and the care one would have for a favorite tool or toy.

One more little detail I will throw out is simply that Primus is not a particularly kind creator in this au. He is more than willing to fuel the fires of his will at the expense of another, especially those most loyal to him.

I just got an Another Sagau!Idea-

So you know the latest Archon Quest regarding about Khean'riah (or however you spell it), Caribert?

Yeah, so slight spoilers:

What if the Reader, before they lost their memories of being the Creator and all that, met the Traveler's sibling while they were meeting Eide, Caribert, and Chlotar Alberich? Let me explain:

The Reader's presence is special. → I based this fact from the way the Traveler's presence was enough to lessen Xiao's karmic debt. What if the Reader's presence does the same thing to the hilichurl's curse, but by a somewhat larger scale? Just having the Reader present is all that is needed to have the medicine work faster than it did before.

I also think Reader wouldn't reveal themselves as the Creator, instead taking up a disguise when they meet the Abyss Twin and Eide.

The Reader Might Be Eide's better Choice to Ask For a Blessing? → Allow me to elaborate. So, as we all know, most, if not all, kheanrians are atheists or just don't have much faith in gods in general. The Creator is a little different here—the Creator's presence is more of a feeling of safety, a feeling that they have some sort of familiar bond of sorts between the two.

I would think that Eide was see the Creator, aka Reader, as a being far greater than the Dendro Archon, a being with more power. This may have him beg for the Creator's blessing in the end instead of the Dendro Archon. The only problem? We know what the strange mushroom is made out of—the fertilizer to grow it is legit dead humans. I would honestly think the Creator is against this idea, which thus leads to the Reader denying his prayers. Eide may then be forced to beg to the Dendro Archon because of this.

I would honestly imagine that the Creator gives blessings more than most gods, even if they are just small miracles. Reader has balanced the consequences of giving the blessing to Eide, which leads them to refuse to accept his request. However, I think the Reader would change their mind, hoping that if they allowed Caribert to gain consciousness would stop Eide from killing more humans to make fertilizer—

The Reader Could Be Against Chlotar Alberich, Founder of the Abyss Order. → I'm mainly basing this idea off of the beginning of the game. To this, I'm referring to the intro cutscene, where we have to choose a sibling to be the Traveler. I would think the Reader shares a similar mindset to the Traveler—they do not believe what happened to the people of Khean'riah was deserved, but they are against joining the Abyss Order to cause harm to other nations.

I personally believe that Reader would be unhappy that Chlotar has started the Abyss Order to kill of the rest of their precious world. I can't really see the Reader agreeing with killing their own creation, instead trying to convince the Abyss Twin to not join him.

The Reader does not like this "new god" that's being created. → As you may know, human-made gods aren't exactly amazing. Scaramouche is a slight example of that. The Sages tried to create a god from human knowledge, and, in result, Scaramouche became a fake god. But, as you know, his power wasn't exactly as strong as a real god's power would be.

Reader does not like the fact that the Abyss/Abyss Order would go this far to making a god to get rid of the curse befalling on all hilichurls. To them, I would think it's some sort of severe risk. They are highly suspicious of this "god" and would rather find out its true intentions in other methods than cooperate with them. The Creator may be lenient on their creations, but they have to draw lines against them, unfortunately.

Middle Earth Elvish Profanity Headcanons

“By the Valar!”

Yes it IS weird to take someone’s name in vain when you’ve literally met them. They usually don’t do it.

However, the line between invoking and cursing is blurred, and it’s normal to invoke/pray to a specific Valar for a relevant reason (eg, cursing recalcitrant rosebushes in Yavanna’s name, invoking Tulkas when threatening to smack your sibling upside the head). Sometimes the relevance is that this particular elf is devoted to this particular Valar, and so will invoke them for things outside their domain (eg, Mahtan says “Aulë help me” whenever any of his grandchildren get in new trouble).

There’s also a spectrum of how explicitly you’re referencing a Vala. Saying something like, “stars above” or “for the love of the tides” is implicitly referencing Varda, Ulmo, etc, but it’s also plausibly just about the natural phenomena themselves. Stars especially - Elves were swearing by the stars and cursing by the darkness long before Oromë first found them, and many of the oldest still do.

The next level of intimacy/explicitness is to reference a specific Vala by title, eg, “Lord of the Skies preserve us”, “Smith curse this casting!”, “Dancer speed your feet, because when I catch you I will cut them off!” Something general like, “by the Valar” would also be on this level. 

(NB: while it was...not uncommon in Beleriand to curse by “the Chainer”, “Dark Hunter” or other names for Morgoth, it was regarded as more dire than to reference any other Vala by a similarly semi-personal title. You don’t want to risk drawing his attention.)

Highest, rarest level of cursing by the Valar is of course to name them directly. Especially to name them in Valarin. (No one really does that - though it’s not impossible that Fëanor did in his infamous Oath.) Generally believed (correctly?) to call the Vala’s attention, and thus only done with real intent, OR by those particularly favored by a particular Vala, who know even their frivolous call is welcome. (Eg, Círdan in the most tired voice possible, countless times over the Ages when faced with the latest Noldorin nonsense: “Lord Ulmo.”)

(NB: the Gwaith-y-Mirdain are infamous for expressions like, “[drops hammer on foot] Aulë’s fucking tits!” This is commonly mistaken for arrogance, but actually is because they picked it up from the dwarves of Moria. In general, dwarves are very respectful of their creator, but when you drop a hammer on your foot it HURTS, so they don’t hesitate to complain to him loudly and creatively.)

“Shit”

Cursing by messy bodily functions is always a strong option, though Elves tend to regard it as more juvenile than Men do

“Fuck!”

Elves curse by sex, but with different connotations than Men. Sex is (generally) indistinguishable from both the social contract of marriage and a literal spiritual bonding of fëa, cemented by an oath invoking Eru himself. Very sacred. There’s 1 word in Quenya, and in Sindarin, etc, which means all of this at once, though there’s also less-often-used words meaning individually the physical, social, and spiritual aspects.

“Fuck” is a very coarse way of referencing the physical act only, implicitly reducing the whole sacred thing to the basest part (the social part involving a great deal of community joy, joining of families, etc.)

Other sex-related cursing - “suck it!” “balls” - have connotations of...the things you might do for physical pleasure without diving fully into a fëa bond of marriage. Opinions on such acts range across time and cultures from “blasphemy” to “perfectly normal behavior for younger Elves, or older Elves who haven’t found their soulmate yet”, which affects how satisfyingly rebellious it feels to reference them as profanity.

Other Things to Take in Vain

It’s actually pretty common to swear by “Song”, “the Great Song”, etc. It’s swearing by the holy nature of all creation without bothering anyone specific.

Relatedly, “Arda Marred” is a common curse for petty things, like stubbed toe levels of petty. Connotation: The world is unfair and YES I’m whining about it.

It was common to swear by the Trees in when they were lit, either individually or “the Trees”, but that stopped abruptly in grief once they were destroyed. Swearing by the sun and moon never caught on, despite conscious attempts.

Swearing by individual Maiar is much less common than by individual Valar, but: while for most Elves, invoking “the Queen” in a profanity way means Varda, for Iathrim it usually means Melian.

“Flame Imperishable”...okay, I’m not saying the supporters of the House of Fëanor were a cult, I’m NOT. But it was a...genuinely minor trend, in Formenos, to replace the names/references to the Valar, in curses, with Fëanor’s name - like, a handful of people were doing this, okay? Two dozen at most. As an active political statement. 

But then Everything Happened, including Fëanor dying, and it snowballed (fireballed)...rather fast. The Valar had abandoned them but you know who was plausibly still watching over them as a houseless spirit? Fëanáro! (That was superstition, everyone knew it was superstition. But it was a kind of a comforting one, and anyway, fuck the Valar.)

But all Fëanor’s sons were (varying degrees of) Uncomfortable with both the idea of their father’s unquiet ghost and the idea of venerating their father to minor deitihood, so the general Fëanorian host started using the euphemism “Flame Imperishable.” Which was already something to take in vain, and rarely done so, because it was so very holy a concept! (Arguably it was even more Uncomfortable for Fëanor’s sons than equating their father to “mere” minor deitihood, but at least now there was plausible deniability what people were swearing by.) So this is a win/win, in terms of profaning that which has forsaken and Doomed them! Many Sindar probably picked it up without realizing that it was about anything but the Flame of Creation at all.

But if you know, then you know. And it became so common in East Beleriand that many people forgot the contentiousness of its origin and kept using “Flame Imperishable” as a casual curse phrase after their re-embodiment in Valinor.

...speaking of Fëanor: the Oath! References to the Oath were common curses in East Beleriand and perhaps even the rest of Beleriand. “Elda, Maia and Aftercomer” as an expression of surprise, “Everlasting Darkness” as a curse, etc. In later days, as opinions of the Oath grew darker, “Oath take you.”

References to the Doom were used similarly.

Swearing by the Silmarils was also common throughout the First Age and well into the Second, either as objects of veneration or incredible cursedness.

Swearing by Gil-Estel was quickly popular and never went out of fashion. At first people tried to avoid doing it where Elrond or Elros could hear, including in Númenor, and indeed Elros never did join in, though he didn’t really mind others doing it. At some point in the early-mid Second Age (a few centuries after Elros’s death), Elrond stopped trying to avoid letting it slip into his speech and instead started pulling the power move of just saying “Father” in contexts where anyone else would be swearing by the Star. It’s very analogous to people particularly beloved of a specific Vala casually naming them in oaths. All his children imitate this, “Grandfather”, and Celebrian even picks it up sometimes (”Father-in-law”).

Mother Nature's second in command. Pegasette was created with the purpose of helping to take care of some tasks in the world after its creator's retirement.

Pegasette is eccentric and has an optimistic way of looking at everything. Unfortunately, she takes jokes and hyperbole too literally. A free spirit, she is smart and curious, always willing to help someone even when not asked.

Role in the Village:

Pegasette rarely stays in the village, as she is too busy to worry about day-to-day living. However, when she is nearby, she helps the village with her abilities. Like helping the farmer in his garden with rain clouds, teaching Papa smurf natural spells, making Clumsy's dreams of flying come true. As time passes in the village, she tries to learn common activities such as cooking, sewing and writing. She does this to feel more alive as a real being and to have some place in society as her former life was lonely and spiritual only.

Relationship with Mother Nature - Pegasette and Mother Nature have a relationship of mutual respect between them. They have a strong bond, as water is Mother Earth's lifeblood. She does everything to help her creator and make her proud, because mother nature was kind enough to choose her spiritual element just to have a physical body and be a guardian.

Relationship with Willow - Willow shares a mother-daughter relationship with her. As old as her spirit is, Willow still considers her one of her little smurfettes and helps her settle into this new world. Willow took it upon herself to give Peggie a home and love in the first months of raising Peggie, so the two formed a strong bond, sharing the art of natural magic and their knowledge.

Relationship with Handy Smurf - Handy is currently the only Smurf with a romantic interest in Pegasette. He adores her and makes her feel like the most amazing person who ever lived, as well as being one of the smurfs that is trying to teach her everything about the world and the society they live in. His genuine love and fascination for her is apparent in every interaction they share, and she reciprocates his sentiment. Handy doesn't care about his spiritual age, even though that is one of the reasons he is mocked by the other smurfs. The day Handy really won the spirit's heart was when he got the idea to use his jet pack to fly with her, a gesture that made the girl cry.

Relationship with Smurflily -  Smurflily is Pegasette's best friend, the two are like sisters despite their differences. Lily is one of the smurfs who is guiding Peggie through her desire to fit in with a place among physical creatures. Both love training together and share the same love of cooking.

Relationship with Smurfette –  Smurfette has a certain admiration for Pegasette. She feels identified by their similar origins, as well as being physically different from regular smurfs.

::TRIVIA::

- She is specifically responsible for the weather and everything related to water, including animals

-She has the body and appearance of an adult smurf, but since her true form is the water spirit of the planet, her age can be the same as Earth and Mother Nature, approximately 4.5 billion years old.

- After her creation, she had to share tasks with Leaf, leaving Pegasette with the weather and water, and Leaf with the land and nature in general. Pegasette has a neutral relationship with Leaf, as she believes that the fairy is too young to have the greater responsibility of replacing Mother Nature.

- Pegasette gets sick easily, especially with river pollution. When she's like this, the mood is confusing and overwhelming.

- Pegasette is originally a spirit, which means that she has never interacted with anything or anyone and therefore she does not know the customs of the land. This makes her very curious and almost always gets into trouble.

- Despite being older than everyone else, she still obeys Willow and treats her like a wise old woman. - Although her spirit is immortal, her smurf body can die. - She hates being called old.

The meaning of Scaramouche’s heart

Some thoughts about visions and how scaramouche’s arc plays into one of the major narratives of inazuma.

tl;dr: it’s (human) connection

Scaramouche experiences human emotion from the moment of his creation. We know this because the tears he shed in his sleep are the reason why Ei realized he was sentient (and therefore refused to use him as a tool/vessel for the gnosis).

So, if he was already capable of emotions and feelings, and we see later he even has empathy, what is the meaning of the “heart” that he seeks?

The gnosis

In the context of genshin’s lore, a gnosis is an internal magical focus used by archons that resonates directly with celestia. The puppet prototype that Ei created was meant to function as a vessel for her gnosis, thus scaramouche considers it a part of himself that was taken away.

Being separated from the gnosis (if he ever hosted it) means he lost the connection to higher/dive power (celestia), to divinity itself, and this is only speculation but perhaps the absence of this connection allowed him to explore his humanity among mortals after he woke up and started wandering inazuma.

Scaramouche is a being trapped between godhood and humanity, he’s neither one or the other. However, we see him make a choice in the sumeru chapter. One that was fated to fail.

The vision

We know beforehand that a vision, something venti describes as a “primitive tool”, will fulfill the role of his heart.

But how can a primitive tool replace the gnosis as his heart?

I think that the vision, much like the gnosis represents a connection to divinity, represents human connection.

The first bond a person can have —to a creator, a god, a mother— never existed. The bond scaramouche formed with a human he considered his family was betrayed. And the bond to a life he intended to nurture was severed by death.

Death

All human beings (and even godly creatures of teyvat) are share the fate of a physical death. But scaramouche, as per ei’s model specifications, is an indestructible immortal being that cannot choose to die. This is a special kind of loneliness that isolates him from everything that exists around him.

He has no connection to the world, and even if he formed new bonds he’s condemned to outlive them. Being in this position, it’s not odd that he’d want to get rid of his humanity, and that he’d want the connection to divinity/higher power back.

And yet, that doesn’t belong to him either.

Dreams and eternity

Makoto’s ideology revolves around the eternity of human dreams. She believed that even though human life is transient, their dreams (which she describes as “the yearning by living beings for a better future”, and can be interpreted as “progress”) have the capability to pass from one another, and thus become eternal.

This is explored in the main quest where a sword master goes insane due to guilt after his vision is taken away under the hunt decree. He defeated many other sword masters on his way to become the best, and after experiencing the loss of his ambition himself he’s afraid of the resentment those he defeated might bear for him for doing the same. A man who was defeated by him in the past gets involved, but he tells the sword master that he didn’t steal his ambition. Instead, it’s more like his ambition was passed onto someone who could carry it further.

It is empathized at the climax of act III, where kazuha reactivates his friend’s vision, thus successfully carrying his ambition to face and survive the musou no hitotachi.

A dream shared by people, that can be passed down between generations and even beyond death, is the purest form of human connection. One that is rooted in instinct and that makes humanity progress.

Human connection

According to makoto, ambitions are constantly generated by dreams. And we know visions are the physical manifestation of strong ambition.

In a way, visions are the physical manifestation of human connection.

Which is why I think that scaramouche getting a vision, something that will fulfill the role of the heart he so desperately wanted, is the proof of his connection to humanity. A bond that is eternal, and the proof that he belongs.

Some final thoughts

I think at the end of the day, scaramouche just yearns for connection, and the vision will define him as more human than divine.

Ei was aiming for material permanence when she created him in her quest for eternity, and this physical immortality became a curse for him.

Ei herself failed to see her own self as an individual, she only knew how to serve her nation as a weapon and when she retired into eternal meditation after makoto’s death, she gave up everything that made her an individual. She was scared of the dangers of human progress and made her own version of eternity, one where she could hold onto the progress inazuma had already accomplished so that the heavenly principles wouldn’t destroy it like it happened to khaenri’ah. At the end of her second character quest, she understands that there is meaning in death, that it should be honored, whether mortal or divine, for the sake of progress, for the sake of dreams, for the sake of a better future. She learns that this human connection that moves humanity forward is what should be protected.

Scaramouche, as a byproduct of this process, highlights the problems that come with Ei’s mistaken version of eternity, but also embodies the point of makoto’s ideas. Me thinks.

It's said that the first concious beings were two brothers, generated by the absence of the void. Their bond was incredibily strong, enough to create the world in it's existence. The two resided in the sea, the place from which life first originated. Initially, they had no body, but as time went on, they gained physical attributes.

The younger one, Cássian, had one of the most fair faces, his long, silky ,cotton like hair originated the first living beings, as well as the first vegetal organisms. Formely, his first half resembled a human's, his lower took the form of a seal's, the brother's favourite creation.

The older one, Nanir, had a similar form. However, unlike his brother, he possessed a pair of limbs at the end, what will then turn into legs. His hair - just as long as his brother's - was made out of tentacles, an attribute from his personal favourite, the octopus. He was his brother's protector, his strength becoming physical rather than spiritual, his hair becoming a weapon rather than an ornament.

They both possessed a bright set of eyes,their scleras respectevly teal for Cássian, ocre for Nanir, without a trace of a pupil. It guaranteed them to see in the lowly, cold, depths of the sea, from which they resided the most. Their statures were impressive, taller than any beings created - however Nanir could tower over his brother easily. It Is also the reason as to why Nanir was perceived as a octopus-like monster instead, especially after the following events unfold.

One day, inspired by his brother's appearence, Cássian created another living being, humans. The brother was enthusiastic. He yearned to interact with those beings, the first ones to ever be able to talk through words, and so similar to them.

With centuries passing, the desire to see them was stronger and stronger, until one day, under an human's disguise, he left the sea. Nonir had warned him to not interfene in mortal questions, yet, he didn't listen.

When Nonir noticed his brother's absence, he was became enraged. Blaming humans for his brother's disappereance, he started to intervene in human questions, every interviniance worse than the last one. He had also disguised himself as an human, hoping to see his brother - even for one last time.

Only when Cássian realised how much damage he was doing by being apart from his brother did he try to stop him.

His reluctance came from the affection towards his brother, as well as his weakening of his powers. When the day came, the two's confrontation blew into a war between gods, from which Cássian became victorious, after impaling Nonir.

The sorrowful, disturbed diety soon followed his brother, perishing the same fate, dying into his brother's arms. With their demise, all Cássian's creations weeped, a moment for the creator, who killed blood of his own blood, and for the protector, who not only failed his loved brother, but failed himself .

finished watching Kamen Rider Black Sun

that was awesome. the last 3 or 4 episodes were so peak and the first half of the final episode was just brilliant.

i wasn't sure what to expect from this new take on the characters of Kamen Rider BLACK (which i watched years ago and loved thoroughly) but it did very well for itself!

more specific thoughts and spoilers below

it took me a bit to get used to who was who from the cast because it bounces between 2022 and 1972, ppl changed allegiances and such.

First thing first, the way the last episode opened, copying the opening of the original Kamen Rider BLACK series, GLORIOUS!

Anyway in reagrds to the cast, in the end I liked pretty much everyone. the main riders, Gorgom, support characters. Only a few stood out as nopes.

Wasn't feeling Yukari from moment one, Dounami revealed she was a spy of his near the end to Nobuhiko. Truth or not, i found her way manipulative and both riders just did everything she wanted. "Prevent the kingstones from falling into the wrong hands by taking them away from the super powered bug men and giving them to one lady" yeah. great plan.

Bishum and the new Prime Minister at the end, Karma Houdini. i hate that trope. ppl who do terrible horrible things / antagonists that just get away with it in the end. Even after Aoi revealed everything done by the government in regards to the creation of Kaijin, just like irl, distract ppl and they forget all about it. returning to their prejudice against Kaijin. No wonder Aoi, Nomi and Kujira are training an army. Can't blame them for that.

Speaking of, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Aoi. I'm tired of the trope of "big guy protecting small morality chain" thing but i enjoyed it here. She managed to find her way despite the fact that she lost both her moms, her dad, her best friend, was betrayed by another friend (who she forgave) and lost her new father figure / mentor. Being Aoi is suffering. Between all that and how she came out in the end, I was happy? for her. Sounds messed up to say but just by getting through all this, she is strong and has to be to carry on the fight.

Gorgom. Already hit on Bishum. Baraom I felt was underutilized but he and Darom I did understand why they chose the approach for coexistence that they did. Dounami is garbage but they didn't want to start a war they couldn't win. They both loved Kaijin and wanted the best. That's something even Kotaro understood during his fight with Darom.

Bilgenia was much the same, the first to break away from the Gorgom Party and take the Creation King because he disagreed with Darom bending the knee to Dounami. someone says that he is driven by his love of Kaijin, i forget who. Now granted, Bilgenia did turn Aoi and her dad into Kaijin and he killed her mom too. Not writing those actions off, he was messed up.

Meeting his creator towards the end and questioning everything he has ever done. That's the kind of development i didn't expect. I knew he wasn't long for this world when he changed his stance. His final battle against the police force coming to kill Aoi was excellent. In that moment he became my GOAT. Honestly for me, a lot of bad, but he did kill Yukari who i didn't trust for a second.

Smaller peeps like Shunsuke, Oliver, Nomi, Kujira, Nick and Koumori were fine in there roles. I liked them well enough but Nomi, you should've turned heel far earlier than you did. Granted Bilgenia would easily dispose of him. Guy was definitely torn.

Finally Kotaro and Nobuhiko. They're both excellent. Kotaro not wanting anything to do with this fight anymore, being pulled into it and his growing desire to protect Aoi. Much like the og series, he has a bond with Nobuhiko that leads him to not wanting them to clash but once the Creation King is dead and Nobuhiko loses his resolve. Things change.

Which speaking of, I was wondering the whole time what could happen to alter Nobuhiko's course. He made an army to raid the Gorgom Party, he was a lot more direct and aggressive than Kotaro but i wouldn't say strictly evil. Not like OG Shadow Moon. What was the point? It was Dounami revealing the truth about Yukari and then the prejudiced assholes beating Shunsuke to death and hanging his corpse over his home. Yeah. That would do it.

That whole scene, watching Nobuhiko's face. It clicked. I bought all of that as valid reasons for him taking over Gorgom and proceeding with an even more aggressive plan to become the Creation King.

This is a lot longer than I thought it'd be. I can't believe Shunsuke died when he did. I kept expecting he would, but when he actually got killed by those assholes it was a surprise. Poor kid.

With how the series ended, Nobuhiko dying after his final battle with Kotaro, Kotaro becoming the Creation King due to the previous one's heart and his holding of both Kingstones and then Aoi having to kill him with the broken remains of the Satan Saber. That was heavy. Aoi really lost the last thing that she had.

I wasn't sure how the series would end but both main riders dying wasn't what I thought would happen till just before. I don't know if they have any plans for another season or not. I don't believe so since well the riders are gone. There are implications with what the new Prime Minister is up to and Aoi's Black Sun army. Amazons had 2 seasons but if this is it for Black Sun, i'd say its a good ending for a great series.

I could have chosen to read a different book after my chemistry exam. But, seeing as it was my birthday earlier this month, I thought it appropriate to read a book about balloons.

Well, okay, not balloons exactly. Sebastian and Keane are actually balloon-animal shifters. And they are desperate need of an artist if they want to keep their recently gained autonomy and truly be free.

When Poppy, an art student at the local community college, visits the zoo where Sebastian and Keane work, Sebastian is thrilled. He likes Poppy, and seeing a little of her work in the figure drawings of zoo patrons, he believes she can help them.

Keane is less than enthusiastic. He hates the way Poppy looks at Sebastian, and the way her blue eyes stick around in his memory.

But, as the three are tied closer and closer together, they'll find themselves knotted to each other...in more ways than one.

I had every intention to give this story a higher rating. The concept for the story was interesting: it's not every day you read about balloon animal shifters. And the spice, when we actually experience it, is competently written and charged with chemistry. However, the story deflates in several places by falling victim to a writer's greatest adversary and ally: Exposition.

In some cases, the exposition works. When Sebastian and Keane "tell us" about their creation, their creator, and her sexually assaulting them prior to the start of the start of the story, it works to set up the stakes and tell us what these two mean to each other before we really get going. And, since the past assault is told in exposition, it isn't detailed, which could allow for more people to read the book, if they are okay with less detailed descriptions of the boys' sexual assault.

But when that exposition is also used to tell us about most of Poppy's heat (this is an omegaverse book, remember), most of the M/M/F spice, the second bonding in the three-way relationship, and the final confrontation with the antagonist that the story has been building up since the start, exposition gets old, fast.

I was confused and a fair bit disappointed in this book. It has a strong concept and a very good spice scene between Poppy and Keane, but after that, the story turns into an exposition dump that delivers us a "happy ending" that feels unearned.

If this feels like something you would want to read, remember: this book does contain themes of an abusive F/M/M relationship that ended prior to the beginning of the book. The sexual assault is not described in graphic detail, and we never experience it from the character's point of view, but if any themes of SA bother you at all, sit this one out.

As a content creator in today's day and age, with a shortened timespan of consumers and in times of highly saturated entertainment markets, it is fairly convenient to stick to fast paced platforms like TikTok, SnapChat or Instagram, to catch attention and grow an audience.🌟 These apps allow you to give your fans a quick fix of their daily video/post, whilst still never wasting their time. ⏱️ 

Why should you use YouTube then? 🤔

The biggest advantage of an app like TikTok, is also its biggest problem for the educational niche: Some topics can't be accurately discussed in under 3, 5 or even 10 minutes. ��‍💫 It's a big difference, if you talk about the taste of an ice cream 🍦 or try to summarize World War 1. ⚔️

Of course, you can narrow most topics down to their very core, but as an educational brand, you should aspire to also do them justice. ⚖️ If this can't fit into 10 minutes, so be it.🧑‍⚖️ Now you can either decide to use a site like YouTube for these videos or throw those ideas away. 🗑️

But before you decide, let me name some other advantages of YouTube! 🔥

There, you can reach a wide audience, one that is more likely to click on your affiliate links, more brands will pay you for advertisements 💰 and it will strengthen your core consumer base. The latter is the most important advantage. 💪 

Ask yourself : How many TikTok-only influencers have a big and strong, hardcore fanbase? 🤔

Almost none. 🙅‍♂️ That's why you will most likely find all the big and medium sized creators, also running a YouTube. 🔥 Whereas on TikTok you sometimes get your favorite creator on your "For You" (almost no-one uses the "Following" page), in between short videos of others, on YouTube you can't randomly see videos, you did not intentionally click on or which were in a queue.🖱️ To watch a YouTube video, people are consciously making a decision to consume and on average, they also spent way more watch-time one-on-one, with the creator and his creation. 💌 This forges a way stronger connection and benefits you in the longterm. 📈

So should you directly start off with a TikTok AND a YouTube? 🤔

The answer is most likely a NO. 🙅‍♂️ The biggest advantage of YouTube, those stronger bonds and those conscious consumption decision make it way harder to start from scratch. 🙃 Whereas on TikTok, most people can arrive at 2k followers in less than 3 months, if they create good content, on YouTube you can be happy to be in the hundreds within that timespan. 🤷 YouTube will not push you as much as TikTok does, people are less likely to click on the unknown and how should people know to search for your content, if they don't even know you exist in the first place? 🤔

That's why using YouTube as a mid-term supplement to TikTok is gaining huge momentum at the moment. 🚀 If you already created a medium-sized audience on TikTok, which knows you as a creator and is thirsting for more of your content, they will most likely also watch your YouTube videos, letting you gain early momentum and a lot of subscribers. ✨✨✨ Your most loyal fans will be the fundament of your YouTube career. Getting this big, immediate push, will also result in the algorithm picking you up from the very start, placing you in the feeds of potential new viewers. 🧑‍🚀

YouTube can also be a safety net. 🕸️ TikTok, being a highly controversial app from China 🇨🇳 , influenced also by their government, being invasive when it comes to your privacy, could always be subject to bans and removals. 🚫 You can also easily be censored. If this happens, and you went all-in on the app, you lost all your cards. 🃏 YouTube is less likely to be banned by governments, censor you (even though this is getting more and more likely by the day) or lose popularity. 🤕

If you remember the TikTok-like app, "Vine", you might see some similarities, because it went through these exact observations. 🔍 People got popular very fast, created short videos, took their followers to YouTube, got famous on there as well and when Vine surprisingly closed down, they had a huge safety net. 🕸️ The most famous example of this tactic, is delivered by the Paul brothers : LOGAN and JAKE PAUL. 👱‍♂️👱‍♂️

Both started with "funny" clips on Vine, moved to YouTube, created two of the platform's biggest accounts and went on to kickstart the trends of "Influencer Houses", "Daily Vlogs" and YouTuber box fights. 🥊

On TikTok, you see the same movements forming. All big TikTokers also have YouTube accounts. If you look at Charli D'amelio's channel, she also has a huge following THERE. Nothing compared to her TikTok following of 147,9 M but certainly a loyal base of almost 9,5 Million.✨✨✨

As a cultural educational channel, this seems even more important!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Whereas a Drew Binsky, who travelled to EVERY country on earth, might be able to create fantastic short clips on TikTok, his most valuable content can only be found on YouTube. 🗺️

As you see, YouTube will most certainly not fall out of style in the near future, with success stories being still written today. ✍️✍️✍️

Is it actually canon that the Cullens are the largest coven after the Volturi? Thoughts on that? Vampire politics and all that? I see a lot of stuff about the Volturi feeling threatened by the Cullens because of their large coven, but isn't there like 3+ times the number of Volturi? Is the canon (or do you have thoughts) about why covens seem to be so small?

As far as we know they're the next biggest after the Volturi.

The canon of why covens tend to be small (3 is considered large, most covens are--allegedly--just a mated pair) is that because vampires are by nature territorial and always in competition for human blood and so they just kind of fight a lot and end up killing each other.

The vegetarian covens avoid this because--again, allegedly--the animal blood diet takes away that sense of competition and allows them to form stronger bonds of family and love. But . . . I mean does it? Garrett has his whole speech, but the Denali sisters and their "mother" had a strong family bond even when they were people eaters. The Irish coven seems devoted and united but I guess you could ague that's Siobhan's gift. The Amazons are devoted to each other. Benjamin is loyal to Amun despite, you know, everything, and Twilight doesn't have an obligatory bond between a creator and their . . . creations? like some vampire mythos do, so THAT's not it. The Romanians, in SM's canon at least, aren't a mated pair but finish each other's sentences. Clearly they have a true bond of something.

We have a show vs tell problem here (again). She SAYS the vegetarians are more able to form stable bonds of love (outside mated pairs) but then shows . . . plenty of non-vegetarians who seem to have non-mate bonds that are pretty darn strong.

The Volturi get away with being so big because they have Chelsea to force everyone's loyalty and Corin to keep them content. But honestly that's so much less interesting to me than the idea that the Volturi get along because of prestige ("It's an honor to serve!") or fear ("We have to get along because otherwise we get Jane or Alec's gift used on us."). Just having magical characters who magically makes them all get along is boring in comparison and makes Aro seem less interesting and less savvy. I always imagined the Volturi as a cutthroat royal court with alliances and intrigues and Machiavellian motives, like a chessboard, and Aro watching over it all and keeping it in balance by playing everyone off of each other based on things he's read in their minds. "Chelsea keeps them loyal and Corin keeps them addicted to her contentment power" is just way less interesting and way too easy for me.
