Every time I hear "and the old widow goes to the stone everyday, but I don't I just sit here and wait, grieving for the living' from Ivy by Taylor Swift I can only think of Neil Perry because he was dead before we watched him die. It hits so much harder when you're rewatching Dead Poets Society and you can see Neil lose himself around his father but then its juxtaposed when he's with his friends. "Grieving for the living' is literally about Neil because he did not commit suicide on impulse.

What do you think of Meeks and Todd’s friendship???? Do you have any headcanons for them?

first of all, i’m sorry for responding to this so late but! i love their friendship and have many thoughts on it so here goes:

~~~

- i think they would thoroughly enjoy each others company. meeks would enjoy the solitude todd’s presence brings and todd would appreciate that meeks let’s him be quiet and is happy to sit together in their own little world without speaking

- don’t get me wrong, they both love the poets with everything in them but they can be.. a lot (said with love) so i think they would seek each other out as a brief respite from the chaos

- i know a lot of people hc meeks as a huge comic book nerd (me too!) and i think todd would love poetry books and classic literature

- i think meeks would want todd to get more into comics and todd would feel bad borrowing one without offering something in return so he would give meeks a book and then suddenly they kind of just have their own little book club??

-neil and pitts being very confused as to why their respective roommates reading habits have changed so suddenly

-once when meeks came over to lend todd a new issue he had just read neil made a joke like

-“trying to steal him from me, meeks?”

-cue blushing like a tomato

-meeks has a pretty good feeling that he knows what’s going on between them, he’s so subtle with it though

-youd never know that he suspects a thing

-eventually todd opens up about his feelings for neil (not knowing that meeks has known almost the whole time)

-obviously todd and neil have a very special bond, but i think in some ways meeks would almost feel to todd like the friend younger him always wanted?

-someone who he can chill with and doesn’t judge

-he likes knowing he can talk about his feelings about neil with someone who will never tell

-overall i think they’d be best buds
