Can we just talk about how poetic it is that @taylorswift and crowds that are primarily women roar the lyrics FUCK THE PATRIARCHY while feeling completely at ease in stadiums around the world where, outside of concerts, the most predominant frequenters are men.
I spent my childhood and teens going to sporting events with tens of thousands of people, and where it wasn't uncommon to see rowdy generally drunk people getting into the back of police vehicles but entering, being in and exiting a stadium with a crowd of 96 thousand people, plus the fans sitting outside experiencing the atmosphere, I never thought about how it could be unsafe.
Taylor, with three and a half hours of your time, you gave people something they probably never thought was possible, the ability to be in such large crowds and still feel safe.

uh i saw a gifset for all too well and the line "just between us, did the love affair maim you too?" got me thinking about wilmon again so here goes.
when you think about it, neither wille nor simon have actually had the time to see just how badly they've each been hurt by the video's release. simon wasn't around when wille was screaming and having a panic attack in his room. he wasn't at the palace or in the car, listening to kristina basically order wille to deny the video. he didn't see wille crying after he walked away, or standing alone after finding out about august and kristina. what simon saw was a version of wille, the version that had been forced on by the crown, the version that betrayed their relationship and would rather keep him a secret, all while keeping a monarchy-approved blank expression.
on the other hand, wille isn't there when simon got stares from people in bjarstäd. he didn't see simon get harassed by reporters, and simon's never allowed himself to cry or break down in front of wille. he hasn't seen simon fight with his sister over the video, or curl up in his room with the curtains drawn. simon showed that he was clearly upset, but he built up walls around himself so wille didn't see the extent of what the leak did to him and his life, or exactly how badly he was hurting.
so both of them are walking around, thinking that maybe they're alone in their emotions, maybe the other person is doing so much better without them. that maybe their relationship hadn't mattered as much to the other person as it had to them.
