Penelope pulled the food items out of the paper bags they came in, making sure everything was in order. It’s the pregnancy fast food place that’s making the rounds right now! McPreggo! She glanced nervously at the collection of food sitting around her. Surely it didn’t ALL make you more pregnant, right?

The first bite was perfect. The patty was hot and juicy, the bun, warm and fluffy, the vegetables cool and crisp, and the sauces brought it all together. “God, this is like… yeah, okay, if it’s all this good, I can see why this is popular. Like I’d get knocked up for a burger this fine,” It didn’t take long for her to put the sandwich away. Someone made a stream donation in response.

“Hi Penelope. I hope you’re wearing loose fitting clothes. Giraffe's Eye View: Christmas Specials Special (2023) | The Christmas Tree

Chestnuts are roasting on an open fire. Jack Frost is nipping at your nose. Mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again. All the dogs in the neighborhood somehow learned to bark Jingle Bells in sync. Yet retail workers are still more annoyed with Mariah Carey. Snow is getting shoveled, tossed, and formed into sentient beings leading parades without permits. It makes for an excellent distraction as the Krampus abducts children for bad behavior. Fruitcake is exchanged only to find its permanent home in the garbage. Terrorists have hijacked the Holiday office party right before your boss can give you a Jelly of the Month Club membership as your bonus. And of course, the Turducken has returned to wreak its fiery vengeance upon an unsuspecting world! If all this doesn’t put you in the Christmas spirit, perhaps these following Holiday specials will!

Greetings people of today and robots of tomorrow! It is I, Santa Clark, your geeky giraffe friend with a deep love of Christmas! My obsession for the yuletide is rivaled only by Maleficent’s hatred for it, which is saying a lot considering she once teamed up with Mad Madam Mim to kidnap the literal Spirit of Christmas. Yes, that really happened. I know this due to my annual pilgrimage to the Island of Misfit Specials, home to obscure or nerdy festive media ranging from movies, TV episodes, and comics. It’s no easy journey. Constantly I find myself confronted by sinister snowmen, genocidal gingerbread men, and worst of all, crappy commercials. Getting stabbed in the foot by a candy-cane wielding cookie is one thing, but I swear I’ve seen that ad for Wilbur’s White Elephant Gift Emporium more times than I’ve seen Miracle on 34th Street! Sometimes at night I catch myself reciting that jingle. Wilbur’s White Elephant Gift Emporium: Where Christmas meets Convenience! Huh, maybe Maleficent had a point.

Nah, my deep-rooted appreciation for this time of year can weather even the most moronic marketing! It helps that most of the merry media I’ve seen have put me in the perfect Holiday mood! Examples include the time a Ninja Turtle found himself trapped in a truck full of stollen toys, a drunk department store Santa stumbling onto a wish-granting magic bag, Big Bird nearly becoming a popsicle, Gwenpool waking up in a world where Galactus took the place of jolly ol’ Saint Nicholas, a terrifying tree stump trying to slaughter some saps over a stupid ship war, and the year when Death gave the Little Match Girl the greatest gift of all. Needless to say, I thought I had seen it all. That is, until I took my friends on a trip to the Island, tasking them to find me new, strange, seasonal specials to review! Some of them were fair, finding me festive favorites as comforting as coco in front of the fireplace. Others were fiendish, wanting to feed off my misery like Gremlins after midnight. Regardless of how naughty or nice my companions were, I’ve compiled all of their suggestions into a makeshift advent calendar! So stay tuned everyday until Christmas to see how badly my buddies can shred what little sanity I have left.

On the tenth day of Christmas, my buddies gave to me...

Wow, this movie is so despised that tumblr doesn't have any GIFs of it. Yup, sounds 'bout right.

Fellow brony Rigby (RigbyH00ves) must’ve thought he was so clever. Ha ha, he chuckled and clucked, that’ll show that geeky giraffe! Nobody can withstand the tinsel-coated turd that is The Christmas Tree! It was banned by the Geneva Convention for being too cruel! If Santa really wanted to punish naughty children, he’d drop a DVD copy of this in their stalking. Chuck Jones died in vain! So how could that nerdy nitwit with the long neck possibly survive this? An evil grin no doubt spread across the sadistic stallion’s face. Yes, that evil equine got the better of me. Or at least he would’ve had I not streamed this Christmas crapshow on my Discord server. Bundled alongside other seasonal stinkers, a fun time was had by all as we mercilessly mocked this animated abomination. So despite my buddy’s best efforts, I actually had fun while watching this infamous fruitcake of a film. The consensus amongst my companions and I was unilateral: this freak’n sucked!

Every aspect of this movie was wrong. Not just bad, wrong. Starting with our story. If you thought the Rat King and Lord Zedd ranked high on the vile scales, you haven’t met Mrs. Mavilda (Helen Quirk)! She’s a wicked woman who mistreats the orphans under her care. Meals consist of gray slop while she dines on bountiful banquets. All their clothes are torn and tattered, save for whenever Mr. Mayor shows up to inspect the premises. That’s when they’re forced into fancy clothes to fool the pitiful politician. Once he hands over the two sacks full of cash he carries on him for some reason, Mavilda immediately strips the two tikes down to their undies. I know this because the camera lingering on their half-naked bodies longer than necessary. Classy! Where’s all that money going, you ask? In the pot at her next poker game. Not only does she gamble with money meant for lonely children, she keeps losing every game! Kenny Rogers once sang you’ve gotta know when to hold’m and when to fold’m. Someone should tell this lady never to touch them. One wonders how she even keeps the lights on if she’s this terrible at Texas Hold ‘Em. Either way, the kids suffer for her crippling addiction. They’re not even allowed to keep a dog they find named Licorice. Not because their cruel caretaker is allergic, she just hates happiness. Saying it’s a hard knock life would be a gross understatement!

What little hope they get comes from a singular pine tree sprouting fourth from the hill in the backyard they’ve named Mrs. Hopewell. In reality this balsam fir is actually Mr. Mavilda, reincarnated after his betrothed butchered and buried his body in the backyard. He had been kind to the kids and had learned of his wife’s embezzling scheme but was sadly powerless to stop her. Now he’s back, hungry for vengeance! Let the snow run red with the blood of his wife! All shall love Hopewell and despair!

Ha, I wish. Nah, it’s just a plant. An inanimate object. Zero chance of it telling the pipsqueaks to feed it fresh dentist. Still, how freak’n sad is that? Their only companion in this crazy world is a freak’n tree! Really makes Whatsherface’s subplot from Power Rangers feel that much more pointless, doesn’t it? Maybe she should’ve been visited by the Care Bears! Heaven knows they’re not gonna help these kids in actual need.

Instead help arrives in the form of Judy Kindle (Karen Drygas) and her family. Having recently arrived in the small community of Townville, they meet up with Mr. Mayor to ask for a job. Makes perfect sense, obviously. Next time you’re seeking employment, go directly to your local mayor! He assigns Judy’s husband to the coal mine where he effectively disappears from the story. I actually forgot he existed until the very end when he just randomly appears to contribute nothing. They could’ve had him die in the mines and I still wouldn’t have cared. Guy got sidelined by a tree, he should fire his agent! Judy fares better, paired up with a plucky fox to solve a missing mammals case in the big city. Wait, sorry, I was thinking of a far better piece of cartoon content. Of course she and her two children end up at the House of Hopewell.

Judy immediately ingratiates herself to her young charges by reading stories, packing picnics, helping to hide Licorice, even building a playground around their tree. Granted that must be horrifying for Mrs. Hopewell, having the remains of your dead relatives placed around your body. It’d be like Hannibal Lector giving you a jacket made out of your cousin. Eh, whatever makes the kids happy! She even introduces them to Christmas since apparently they hadn’t heard of it until then. And so, Judy wolves a magical tale of gumdrops and penny-whistles. She told of toy-making elves and flying reindeer. But best of all, she told of the one they call Santa Claus. Granted they kind’a tuned out when Santa’s postman pal was revealed to have been lying this whole time, otherwise they were intrigued! Especially since Mrs. Mavilda never let them have a Holiday before. For as I’m sure I’ve made clear by now, she’s a three triple-decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich with arsenic sauce.

She’s also a piss-poor poker player. Mr. Mayor, seeing firsthand how well Judy’s handled her duties, delegates more tax payer dollars so she and Mavilda can buy gifts for the rascals. The latter immediately loses it all to a rival that clearly cheated. Lady, what deck of cards feature five aces? I call bull! A mindset mirrored by Judy when she confronts her boss, recovering from a hangover the following morning. Deciding her underling has got to go, she conspires to bury her next to Mr. Mavilda with the aid of Horace and Jasper’s slow cousin, Dennis. By that I mean the dastardly duo plan on planting something on Judy so the cops’ll think she’s a thief. Right, cuz evidence can’t be planted or dusted for fingerprints to prove the poor woman didn’t do it. The orphans, having overheard the sinister scheme, decide they have to find help. Their first option is Mr. Mayor, but none of them know where he lives. Seriously, is this guy the only authority figure in this town? He vows that their tree won’t be touched right as Mavilda makes a break for the chainsaw! Good lord, this woman is wicked! Did nobody hug her when she was younger? How has she not been visited by the Ghosts of Christmas? What does she do in her spare time, punches puppies and kick kittens? She makes Luthor Krank seem charitable in comparison. Somebody stop this lunatic!

Deciding enough is enough, Mrs. Hopewell summons lightning down from the heavens to strike down her foe where she stands! And you all scoffed at my reincarnation theory! May this serve as a warning to all non-believers. Never piss off the pines! Lest you too spend the Holidays in hell!

Pfff, okay, so Mrs. Mavilda doesn’t die. Neither did Lilly. She was saved by a Santa Claus who shouldn’t be near schools! Some sadistic cartoonists spent too much time detailing this freak’s face! Holy crap, if this guy was promoting Coca Cola there’d be a notable uptake in Pepsi drinkers. Meeting this menace wouldn’t make riding the Polar Express worth it at all! I joked before, but is it too late to turn Klaus back on? Thankfully eerie ol’ Saint Nick leaves as soon as he arrives, giving the orphans some much needed new outfits while raining presents down from the sky. As for Mavilda, that bolt scrambled her brains, turning her good because logic is for losers! Judy even hires her on as an assistant, though hopefully not a financial one. Like The Narrator says, you always win if you are good. Are we sure this script wasn’t written by orphans?

Needless to say, the narrative is brainless. Yet like an onion, it’s just one of the many mayors that makes you cry the further you cut into it. There’s also the terrible voice acting. Remember when I insulted the young actors from Care Bears? I apologize to them all, they may as well have been the cast of A Charlie Brown Christmas compared to these tikes. For that they hired legit kids to play the Peanuts gang. Here it sounds like they force-fed dialogue to random kindergarteners before settling for the first take. Granted the adult actors are already abysmal and children aren’t exactly known for always delivering great performances. Really, I feel sorry for any child cast in this crap. I sincerely hope each one of them are living long, fulfilling lives away from show business. Having said that, they still brought great shame onto their households. Every line delivered results in Mel Blanc rolling in his grave. Teacher says everytime this movie’s watched, an angel dies!

Having said all that, the worst aspect by far is the animation. Good lord this special is ugly to look at! Not a lot is known about this picture’s production, save for that it was overseen by acclaimed animator Flamarion Ferreira. His filmography includes He-Man and She-Ra, Pink Panther, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Phineas and Ferb, and Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. You’d think the guy would know how to depict believable movement, lip sync dialogue, or do something as basic as draw engaging expressions. Calling this a cartoon would be an insult to the medium! All the movements are rigid or sudden, no dialogue comes close to syncing up with the mouth movements, and the expressions are what nightmares are made of. Those twin girls haunting the Overlook ain’t got nothing on these orphans! Oh but if you can’t think it can get worse from here, believe me, we’re taking a turn down a different street.

Concurs national de eseuri si povesti grafice organizat de Asociatia "Toti pentru bine"pentru copiii cu varste intre 5 si 11 ani

Asociatia "Toti pentru bine" organizeaza in perioada 10 ianuarie- 28 februarie 2023 prima editie a concursului national de eseuri si povesti grafice destinat copiilor cu varste intre 5 si 11 ani. Romania, Ianuarie 2023 Copiii cu varste cuprinse intre 5 si 11 ani sunt invitati sa participe la concursul de eseuri si povesti grafice cu tema " Eu am superputeri! Eu pot face lumea un loc si mai bun!". Lucrarile constand in 3 ilustratii realizate la dimensiunea A4, pentru categoria de varsta 5- 6 ani, compuneri in 50- 100 cuvinte insotite de 2 ilustratii, pentru categoria de varsta 7-9 ani, respectiv povesti scurte in 350 cuvinte insotite de 1 ilustratie, pentru categoria de varsta 10- 11 ani, pot fi inscrise in competitie pana la data de 15 Februarie 2023. Toate proiectele vor fi evaluate de un juriu format din specialisti in domeniul literaturii pentru copii si artisti ilustratori, iar castigatorii vor fi anuntati public pe pagina oficiala de facebook a Asociatiei "Toti pentru bine" in data de 28 Februarie 2023. Asociatia "Toti pentru bine" ofera castigatorilor 9 PREMII , cate 3 (TREI) premii pentru fiecare categorie de varsta, constand in seturi LEGO si seturi creative si de artizanat Jack in the box. Regulamentul oficial al concursului si mai multe informatii sunt disponibile pe site-ul oficial al Asociatiei "Toti pentru bine" si pe paginile oficiale de social media. Claudia Lazar Groza, scriitoare pentru copii- a terminat Liceul Teoretic Ion Barbu din Bucuresti, urmand Facultatea de Biologie, Master si apoi un doctorat pe Biodegradarea obiectelor de patrimoniu. In 2009 a participat la un curs de scriere creativa. Asa a aparut prima sa poveste „Tobias elefantelul colorat”, in 2011 la editura Aramis. Azi are un numar de 9 carti si numeroase proiecte online de scriere creativa si ateliere de biologie distractiva. Alina Sirbu, scriitoare, Art Terapeut, Facilitator de workshop-uri pentru companii, femei si copii, Consultant in relatii umane, consilier de cariera- creaza de aproape 5 ani carti, calendare, CD-uri pentru mame si copii, poezii, povesti si ghicitori si, avand experienta in corporatii imbinata de formarea in Art Therapy, sustine programe de consiliere vocationala si diverse ateliere. Luiza Cipriana, profesor, scriitor, designer de interior si om pasionat de nutritie si sanatate- a publicat pana in prezent 4 carti pentru copii, povesti care cuceresc prin emotii, senzatii, gust si culoare, dar mai ales prin descoperirea puterii imense a imaginatiei. Bianca V. Ionescu, artist ilustrator- deseneaza iubirea si povesti in culori de peste 10 ani si sustine ateliere de desen si pictura pentru copii, realizand pana in prezent ilustratii pentru zeci de carti pentru copii, printre care "La drum cu Lola si Molda"- de Luiza Cipriana, colectia "Rici Arici" si "Poveste cu Mos Ene si Domnul Somn"- de Iuliana Sosu. Asociatia "Toti pentru bine" a fost infiintata in Iunie 2022 si organizeaza, sustine si desfasoara cursuri, ateliere si evenimente educative, creative si recreative pentru copiii din mediul rural, comunitati mici si categorii defavorizate. Este partener in programul "Ajutor pentru elevi" si ofera copiilor inscrisi in acest program cursuri gratuite de codare si programare, grafica asistata de computer, webdesign, engleza si ateliere de dezvoltare emotionala, STEM si artizanat. This Jungkook Look Is What I Imagine Him Looking Like

Jungkook and Ara, inseparable since they met in the park 12 years ago. Both were playing with their sibling around the park when the ran into each other. The two little kids laughed at each other and started playing together, making their siblings upset.

Since that day the two kids spend all their free time together.

Well that is until Jungkook decided to travel to America to learn dance. The two didn't want to be separated but had to for his dreams. Her heart was broken, Even though she didn't show it when he arrived back months later.

When everything seemed to start to go back to normal until Jungkook left her again to go train in Seoul to become an idol.

The best friends went from seeing each other daily and spending hours of time goofing off to seeing each other once a year with a couple phone calls.

The last time they saw each other it went downhill fast. Jungkook took her on a late night drive around Busan. This lead to them eating Panda Express in the car.

Then out of nowhere Jk leaned over the console and kissed her. Which lead to a makeout with her on his lap.

Afterwards they cuddled in his room at his parents house. He left the next morning and left her confused and alone.

They continued to text as though nothing had happened. Until Jk finally had a break in his schedule after over a year since the last time.

The timer on Aras phone goes off telling her to go down stairs. She hadn't realized how late he would be getting here when they were texting a 10 o'clock. It is now 2:37 in the morning.

Ara had changed into leggings and old sweater of Jks from the last week they were together in school. Ara has a bunch of Jks old stuff now sitting in her room. Every time she visits Jungkooks parents she ends up getting more. She now has a bag of his hair stuck to her fridge since Mrs Jeon put it there.

Mrs Jeon and Ara mother had been hoping to two would get into a relationship and they weren't hiding it from them, well at least no Ara. Every time Jungkook was mentioned near either they would immediately ask if she'd made her move. Which always was a no.

Her mind wanders as she goes to the elevator not even bothering to lock the door. She taps her foot on the ground as she waits for the elevator. The ding signals her to go inside and she taps the lobby button.

After a quick ride down she enters a completely empty lobby. She sits down and looks at the time, 2:42 am. She groans and keeps her eyes on the glass door.

Eventually a hooded figure comes near the door. There's a bag in one arm and phone in other.

Her phone goes off and she looks down seeing it's from Jk.

Jahkay

I see you

She smiles and types back.

Ara

Totally not creepy

She can see his smile on his face while he looks down at his phone. She gets up and heads over to the door pulling it open for him.

"Hey" he says.

"You come back here after weeks and all you say is hey!" She jokes back to him.

He laughs and throws his bag down past her.

"I have fucking missed you so much baby!" Jungkook says wrapping her in his arms and stuffing his hooded head into her shoulder.

Ara face blushes red after hearing him call her baby. She puts her arms around him and gets comfortable in his arms knowing it'll be a while before they let go.

"I've missed you too bun" she says while pulling his hood down to get to his hair.

"You do know I would come home to see you more if I had more time off" he asks her in a saddened voice remembering how she texted him earlier.

"Of course I do Jungkook, it's just I wish I could see you more." She says as her fingers brush through his hair.

"You know if you move to Seoul you could" his says pulling his head back to look into her eyes.

"But I can barely afford this place, how could I afford Seoul." She says smiling thinking he's joking.

"I'd buy us an apartment" he says pulling his baby face that he used to get things from his mom. That face was always serious for him since he didn't know how to be assertive to get his way.

"But I was planning on going to school here too." She says more seriously seeing that his is serious.

"Go to one in Seoul" He says putting his hands on the back of her head.

This causes her face to go back to the red it was earlier. He smiles seeing her face like that.

"You're thinking about it aren't you!" He says with an even bigger smile.

"It's sounds like a good offer, but I don't want to leave my parents for my best friend" she says pulling his arms off her head and turning toward the elevator. She doesn't see the frown on his face about what she called him.

Both parents had been seeing them act this way for years, obviously it was much more innocent when they were younger. But know the tension could be cut with a knife at every welcome home party.

"You're not going to carry it for me?" He quietly yells to her.

"No I'm not, now hurry the elevator is here." She says back to him holding the door for him.

He picks his bag up and rushes into the elevator. The ride is quiet as they ride to the 27th floor. Each had stole looks at each other smiling to them self.

The ding goes and the both move to the door. He moves his bag to his left hand and grabs her right one as they exit the elevator.

"Which way babe" he says trying to get her to blush. Which he succeeds in seeing her face glow again.

"This way bun" she says pointing to the left.

"Why are you so red?" He says nudging her with his shoulder.

"It's hot in here" she says picking up her pace.

"Did I make it hot in here? Cause you know I am smoking hot" he says smirking down at her. She avoids looking at him. Finally they come to her door and she opens it pulls him in. She can hear his bag getting chucked yet again as she shuts she door and locks it.

She turns and sees him not even a foot away from her. "My room is over there can we go there"

"Why, do you have a plan to seduce me there?" He says inching closer.

"No, but it seems you have one now!" She says stepping back to hit the door willingly, hoping for a drama scene to happen.

"Do you want me to have one?" He says cocking an eyebrow up coming closer to her.

"Well if you don't maybe I'll have one to make" she says as flirty as she can for it being nearly 3 in the morning.

"So you wouldn't be mad if I did this?" He says putting his hand beside her head leaning down to her face. They began breathing in each other's warm air.

"Do I seem mad?" She says licking her lips.

"How the hell did we get here?" He says as he runs his lips over her cheek.

"I think it's been a long time coming" she says "I mean we did get married when we were 9 and then again at 11."

"Mmhm how about we get married for real when we're 25?" He says moving his lips to hers, just brushing them over hers.

"Pick a date and I will put it on my calendar babe" she says teasingly making sure the exaggerate her lips movement causing them to lightly kiss.

"August 13th, 2023" he says and then kisses her lips hard. One hand is stuck on the door holding him up as he presses into her, the other wraps around the back of her neck pulling her lips to his.

Her smile is evident as he continues to massage their lips together. The more he feels her smile the more he begins to smile.

The kiss slows down as she starts move her lips against his, moving her hands to his neck. One playing with his hair the other brushing up and down on the back of his neck.

Slowly the two break apart resting their foreheads together. Their eyes lock and smiles grow back into their faces.

"August 13, 2023?" She asks pecking his lips and letting go of him. She pulls her phone out of her pocket and opens the calendar app.

"That's the day" he says returning the peck to her lips.

"Oh no, looks like I'm busy that day, I'm gonna have to ask you to reschedule" she says teasing him.
