Since November I've been working on this project to refurbish a quilt that my grandmother made. 234 embroidered hexagons, with 48 different stitches in 15 different styles and it's finally done.

It appears that it’s once again my birthday. So to celebrate, here is this cute little hyacinth image, I finished yesterday! 🪻I'll be sending it to a friend as a wedding present.

This is a project, I inherited from a friend at choir last year, who had gotten it from a relative. Neither of them really wanted/knew how to finish it, and when I started showing an interesting in embroidery, she gave it to me. In a fit of "need fresh project", I finally decided to pick it up. It took a little bit of effort to remove a handful of stitches, which had been done in the wrong color thread, but overall a fun, quick project!

Pattern is Permin design no. 17-8339, and despite looking high and low, I haven't been able to find it elsewhere. So I assume it's gone out of production, which is honestly pretty cool to me!

It is DMC cotton thread on canvas, 9x13cm.

Threads used:

800 (light blue)

799 (middle blue)

798 (dark blue)

3042 (grey-purple)

471 (light green)

988 (middle green)

986 (dark green)

Again, this was so much fun. I'm now playing around with the idea of reusing the pattern and making more in different colors 😊
