Microsoft Word had an unexplained error when I was submitting at 23:30.

15 mins of desperate trying to work out what the hell the problem was with nothing except a constant “Microsoft cannot save this to your device right now; please try again later”; I had to go on my OH’s computer and submit it what turned out to be 1 minute 43 seconds late.

I *really* hope they don’t take 10% off my mark for under two minutes because I know lecturers are not in any way monsters and want their students to do well. I’ve emailed my tutor to explain. Everything crossed she accepts that.

I think Auto Updates should go away and burn in hell forever you shouldnt force someone to update something they own it should be entirely up to them. Fuck you Microsoft and your limit on how many times you can pause auto updates. Good thing I found a guide on how to use regedit to stop auto updates. unfortunately it already has one scheduled which is dumb and stupid.

I have had enough of windows 11 on my laptop. Sick of it. Weekend project: wipe it and install Linux.

It's always good to see other folks as angry about this as I am, but it's also disheartening how so many people don't care and just allow this to keep happening. I hate DRM and I hate the constant push to kill off physical media by these crappy companies. I will always consider PS2, Gamecube and Xbox the last "pure" consoles, because everything after those is tainted by online crap (and technically even PS2 and Xbox had some of it). It's often indie games on console that get screwed because they might not be able to afford publishing a physical copy and thanks to the shut downs from these greedy corporations those people's games will just be lost to time if folks don't preserve them somehow. I'm glad on PC games people can sell games DRM free on their own sites and such, but we don't really have anything like that for modern game consoles that I know of and it sucks.

(P.S. I don't care for the clickbait title of the video that doesn't actually refer to anything in the video itself, but it's still a good video about how shitty these companies are)

Did you know that display saturation issues are incredibly common on 11?

Did you also know that the only real way to fix that (right now) is to download an ICC that works for your particular machine and your eyes?

Did you also know that this WILL NOT fix your CMYK display on Clip Studio Paint, because Windows does not inherently translate the CMYK color display to RGB, even if you have *all* printers set to CMYK and Windows display to an RGB based ICC (Adobe RGB is a good one, that is open source).

Did you know that you will have to mess around with the preview setting of CSP until you find the best display for the preview? I had to consistently hold my phone up to my laptop to make sure my screenshot of my art, and my laptop display matched as closely as possible.

Did you know that forgetting to click "set as default" on any of the Windows adjustments will revert the settings after a reboot?

Also, did you know that you must select "preview" every time you open a new canvas on CSP to get the CMYK > RGB display settings to show up? Otherwise, you get the same washed out shit all over again?

Did you know that Kelpie is having an internal crisis, because she has been working on this for 2 hours, and suddenly all the very confusing comments about "your art is so vivid/bright/colorful" SUDDENLY make sense?

Did you know that my art is NOT supposed to be eye-searing-colorful? I was just working with (a) massive Dissociative brain, and (b) evil Windows 11?

I'm gonna scribble and cry now, because my art deadline for this event is in 2 hours. I started my drawing at 9am, it's currently almost 1pm, and the rabbit hole KEPT going!

Fuck.

I love how Hi-Fi Rush never stops throwing new enemy types and mechanics at you. Every couple minutes you get to see something new and exciting.

i just love how microsoft is forcing copilot onto everyones computers and not allowing it to be removed

4am - Windows forcefully wakes up my computer and updates it to the latest version

7am - I wake up to discover that my apps are broken

9am - I finally discover that the latest Windows update is broken after hours of googling, and proceed to revert it to the previous version

10am - Windows is finally done with reverting to the previous version where my apps do work, but now I can't access the settings

12pm - Find a line of code I need to insert somewhere from fucking nowhere that fixes my issue

1pm - After taking a break, I proceed to use my computer for work and gaming and such

10pm - I put my computer to sleep mode and go to sleep myself

repeat.
