If you're unaware, NCOSE is a fundie org that used to be called Morality in Media that literally wants to wipe all porn from the internet and they're coming after Reddit.
Which is scary, because they've succeeded in very recent history. They were a major part of the push for FOSTA/SESTA that started the current wave of internet censorship, and they were very likely behind the crackdown on NSFW Steam games from a while ago.
So they've been successful, and they're trying to do it again, and we need to stop them somehow. I just... am not sure how.
I mean, aside from setting fire to their headquarters, but that's probably not particularly viable, so I welcome better ideas.
if you're not obsessed with niche fundie influencer drama like I am then this will mean nothing to you but DAVE FROM GIRL DEFINED IS DECONSTRUCTING. THEY POSTED A VIDEO AND HE LITERALLY SAID OUT LOUD THAT HE IS NO LONGER REALLY A CHRISTIAN AND HE IS DECONSTRUCTING. I FUCKING CALLED IT. I KNEW IT AS SOON AS HE GAVE A NUANCED THOUGHTFUL REVIEW OF THE BARBIE MOVIE. I KNEW IT. FOUR FOR YOU DAVE. YOU GO DAVE.
hey folks, just a quick reminder not to engage with paul and morgan's newest video, in which they tell "their side of the story" in regards to their involvement with the documentary.
if this is your first exposure to the snark community and/or evangelical christian influencers fyi: there are ways of viewing content of theirs, without giving them that sweet sweet algo boosting engagment. check out reddit threads on piracy/privacy for resources, or watch a break-down of their video from a youtube channel you can be reasonably assured will provide educated insight (avoid 'react' channels that are simply responding to shiny happy people content as it happens to be a hot topic atm)
engaging directly with their channel only gives them views, increasing the likelihood of youtube's algorithm picking it up and giving them wider exposure (and every view is $$ in the bank. don't contribute to the profitability of their content)

"who's the most dangerous fundie" listen. ik you'd rather hear that the highly accessible homesteading homeschooling christian influencers you already snark on are the Most Dangerous & you are doing the lord's work spending your time pointing out how awful they are for (checks notes) wearing dresses & having more than 2 kids & having a veggie garden, but i PROMISE you the kinds of christians you should be scared of are the kinds that do only have a couple of kids & are raking in millions from political agendas or their own megachurches / come from generational wealth & would not be caught dead tilling their own soil or giving their kids abeka homeschool curricula
Cannot stop thinking about Girl Defined aka the dark dark abyss of Christian fundamentalism and purity culture.
These ladies are both MARRIED WITH CHILDREN and still continuing to post 40 minute long videos urging their followers to throw out their romance novels - whether smutty or not - because it's a temptation that will make their souls impure. (and no, neither of them have actually read a word of Colleen Hoover's books lmao.)
And Kristen (right) keeps talking about how EVEN HAVING STAYED A PERFECT VIRGIN UNTIL MARRIAGE - after that, you still have to 'fight for purity' when having sex with your husband? Constantly repressing any 'impure' feelings or fantasies that are not 'God-honouring' like Jesus Christ lady I'm sorry but that sounds like hell. No thank you.
(PS I believe Kristen actually once coined the term 'mind virgin' so. Do you what you want with that information.)
Due to recent events in the Middle East YouTube has decided to start recommending me videos from Christian fundamentalist lunatics speaking about how these events were predicted in biblical prophecies and that the end times are apparently upon us.
I’m sure they must be thrilled! For once. (It’s not the apocalypse!)
I feel SICK just thinking about it!
Innocent people are being killed and you’re shrieking and roaring about the rapture and the promise of salvation!
