there is something deeply horrifying that really hits close to home about how satoko, who is a heavily queer-coded teenage girl, gets locked up in an isolated room by a strict religious boarding school for misbehaving and is punished until she conforms to their standards for behavior, especially when she spends the entire time there agonizing about how she is “the problem” and blaming herself for everything that went wrong, which feels really reminiscent of queer kids blaming themselves for not being like everyone else even if it’s not the intent.

I might have finally found the winning combo of meds and dear god I forgot what it was like to feel like a real person.

It's genuinely baffling. I mean... I slept through the night and woke up rested? I got housework done? I took care of all my basic needs? My mood was stable? The paranoia was manageable? I don't think I've been this person in at least a decade.
