I could think of no better way to share the news than this!

So when I was 17, my cat went missing and I'd given up hope of ever seeing him again.

Until on Monday, 27th of May, 2024, my friend sent me a FB post asking 'isn't that your mother?' about the person named on the microchip.

Here he is! 16 years old, and found safe, twelve whole years after he went missing!

Yesterday (Tuesday the 28th of May, 2024) I went to the rescue that had him, and I reclaimed my boy, renaming him Artie! (He'd originally been called 'Cat' because my mother and I couldn't decide on a name)

He's home safe with me now, currently inhabiting my bathroom and purring up a storm every time someone goes in there!

I'll be doing slow introductions between him and my current cat to give them the best possible chance of living in harmony!

Not to toot my own horn, but I happen to possess a naga myself. Heh.

I’ve never gone through the trouble of picking up an instrument, and I’ve never been to close with anyone who had. But in college I did have an acquaintance who got pretty heavily into the antiguitar. He’d show up to house parties and keggers, he’d lie in wait like a contrarian crocodile until the usual peach-fuzz laden offender would start in on an amateur guitar rendition of wonderwall, and then my acquaintance, he’d whip out his antiguitar and start matching the other guy note for note, effortlessly and precisely counteracting the performance with an antiperformance, such that no sound was audible from either instrument. It was a sight to behold- my buddy strumming away in total silence with a shit-eating grin on his face, wonderwall guy strumming furiously with a vein throbbing in his temple and this unyielding hatred in his bulging, red-rimmed eyes. All in total silence, punctuated only by the occasional discordant squeal when wonderwall guy missed a note. Unfortunately he had to give it up in Junior year after school admin ordered his hands broken as part of an unrelated disciplinary process. But it’s also super easy to overplay a bit like that so, you know. Maybe for the best

in the nicest and most non-confrontational way possible. i feel like some of you think that anything that isn't directly openly spelled out for you within a story is "missed potential" or "unexplored." like. sometimes there are implied narratives. sometimes the point is that you as the reader are supposed to think and draw your own conclusions and participate in the story. the writers not directly spelling every little detail out for you doesn't mean that the story is poorly written or missed its own plot details somehow. PLEASE.

hate it you stumble across a post of someone just being like 'proshippers and people who like noncon are disgusting and should DIE i never want to see one of those fics on my feed again' and you go to their profile and there is just. nary a fic in sight. no writing no fanart maybe at most a couple textposts but that's all. like babe if you're going to be this annoying in public you should probably also be making some of the content you want to see in the world. at least the perverts contributing.

Three of our bird pen doors have carabeners attached.

The first, a purple one, keeps the interior barn pen door from being unlocked by Wendy, who figured out she can pull the "fuck me, locked myself in again" string and let everyone out into the barn.

The second, a blue one, keeps the exterior barn door closed because I put a different release latch on it so I could let them out into the flight pen without having to go outside which resulted in Wendy learning she could let herself out in the morning. Now it mostly holds the door shut because the door board has warped slightly.

And then there's this one.

This is the Carabener of Shame.

This one goes on the pen 1 door, because it's a terrible latch

Don't buy this latch for your peafowl pens. If you wiggle the door enough (like the wind can do on a windy day), it unlatches. It doesn't necessarily open, per se, but it doesn't stay turned right and can pop out of place. Not ideal.

So for peace of mind, I added the red carabener to the latch.

Wind can't open that!!

Except.

Literally every time I open this door, I put the carabener on my belt loop so I can have both hands free to open the coop doors inside and check on birds and close the middle door etc.

And then I forget it's attached to my pants, and I leave without applying it. When I get in, Sark tells me I'm wearing the carabener of shame, and I must then walk all the way back out to put it back on.

All I need to see in the revival is Dean singing dramatically to his music in their kitchen and Sam giving up on explaining the next hunt to either of them because Cas is looking so affectionately at Dean that Sam announces he needs to go hurl.

♡ what i do instead of eating when i’m feeling impulsive ♡

୨୧ turn on a tv show that i only allow myself to watch when i'm working out — right now i'm alternating between america's next top model and the biggest loser! ୨୧ hop on the treadmill and watch the show. i don't stop until the episode is over, or until i'm literally about to collapse. ୨୧ after i'm done on the treadmill, i go and take an everything shower. wash, shave, exfoliate, the works. then i get out and do my haircare and skincare routine. ୨୧ i make sure to drink tons of water to rehydrate myself! ୨୧ sometimes i like to do my hair and makeup afterwards too. other times i'll sit down and draw or paint. just anything to keep me busy.

୨୧ by now, i've usually spent three hours keeping myself distracted and any hunger pains/cravings have usually subsided (:
