Proposition:
Be More Chill except it's analog horror.
Cw for general analog horror elements because duh
The Squip is a proud member of the uncanny valley and likes to stand in dark corners of rooms like a dick.
Jeremy is having nightmares and going absolutely mental, becoming increasingly more and more paranoid as his mental health fucking plummets.
Michael is freaking out because not only is his friend ignoring him but that same friend is starting to look like a walking corpse.
The Squip escalates it's methods from just verbal taunting and shocking Jeremy to scaring the fuck out of him on purpose. Jeremy locks himself in rooms to escape the voices. The Squip bangs on the door repeatedly for Jeremy to let it inside, making its voice sound like Christine, or Michael, or Jeremy's father, hell, sometimes even his mother, just to mess with him.
The knocking on the door isn't even real, only an auditory hallucination drummed up by the Squip to make Jeremy believe he's in danger. It also makes Jeremy believe he's found a way to hide himself from the danger, he just has to lock the door.
The Squip isn't a real person, it's inside Jeremy's brain, locking the door isn't going to save him.
Atleast the Squip is working though, because Jeremy is officially too scared and too paranoid to step out of line. Not even a little bit.

"haptic nerve blocking"
I always thought the squip would have to block more than just Jeremy's vision to actually remove something from his perception. And the problem with blocking sensory input at the level of the sensory nerves (rather than inside the brain where the input is processed) is that... now there's just a lack of input in that area?
When you have a blind spot in your eye, your brain's actually pretty good at filling in the hole with surroundings so you don't notice. I'm not sure if the same is true of tactile nerves --- but I thought maybe the squip would just selectively mute those nerves whenever Michael touches him. So here's a comic where Jeremy notices that numbness and puts 2 and 2 together :P
Also, please stare at this panel for at least three hours for me it's my favorite one and the first one I drew. thank you djsklfjdsf
