I love that while Kim is meant to be the more grounded of the two, the show will have moments of her being silly and playful with Ron. It helps hammer in the fact that the two of them are best friends. Its also nice to see a male/female dynamic in which even if one of them take things more seriously, they're capable of being goofy.

I made this in Procreate Dreams and my advice is to wait until the developers release more updates before you buy this. This app is still (in my opinion) very early development, lacks essential tools and has a lot of bugs. I don't know how or why but I select full on 1920x1080 HD as working file, then I animate and then when I want to export it, it exports in LOWER than 720 and I'm like???? Dude???? Also I cannot export seperate frames because the app keeps crashing. Is it maybe my iPad??? I have no problems with it until I started working with this app... The only reason I managed to get this semi sharp again is because of After Effects.

Yes, you can animate in this app and it allows you to have multiple tracks/animation layers. But just ugh.

Another update on this. Finally got around to attempting line and color in TB, and It didn't come out as bad as I originally thought. In terms of pure messiness, It's a lot closer to the original show than the original SAI2 frame, but my lack of a steady hand lead to some parts being a little too janked. Modern art programs have made me soft and reliant on stabilizers lol.

As much as I want to, I don't know if incorporating TB into the workflow is the best decision, and It's not the fault of the program entirely itself, but rather the CRT I'm viewing it on. Being a 24 year old screen, It's not as sharp as it used to be, and the fuzziness of the screen causes eye strain fairly quickly. Not to mention something about using an old computer onsets bad posture, so my neck and back were pretty sore by the end of it 💀. I may look into getting a period accurate LED screen, but even then the color accuracy on those from the time is painfully inaccurate compared to the CRTs. Old Toon Boom also is horrendous for the workflow I wanted to establish with it. Importing sketch frames and positioning them correctly is a nightmare, and the way coloring works a little weird as well. There's no easy way to merge drawing layers, so if you want to color fill, you need to go into each drawing layer and cut + paste it into the layer below, until they're all on one.

This did answer a bit question of mine though, and that was whether or not direct replication of the linework is possible with my setup. At first from screen caps I couldn't tell if they were using some sort of textured brush or something, but now that I've seen pretty much all options of the program, lines in the show were definitely just pure vanilla vector brush. This essentially means that I was on the right track before with my SAI2+Nezumi setup, I just need to start giving less of a shit when I do lines. Every time I think I've got the perfect amount of mess, I look at an actual frame from the show and realize I'm still doing things too clean. I need to do frames as if I'm on a time crunch and just want to go home and see my family at the end of the day.
