I love the soundscaping on the statement portion of this one! You’re really just going to stand there and read the statement right there in the depot, huh, Jon?

Jon: 'It was a sunny day in June, and the window was open to a bright field behind the building. I didn’t notice the butterfly until it had landed on the one who kept calling himself ‘Hope’.'
Me: do not eat the butterfly
Jon: 'With a slow, languid motion he picked it up. He looked at it for a couple of seconds, then looked at me.'
Me: Do not eat it
Jon: 'Then he ate the butterfly.'
Me: FOR FUCKS SAKE

Return to Sender is one of my favourite episodes. I always try to sympathise with Alfred's fate. His terror. His resignation. The quiet desperation of a man with the back against the wall and nowhere to go. That deserves a modicum of respect. All the same, Breekon and Hope are too adorable to hold anything against them... And I am left wondering whether he was chosen because of his loose affinity with The Stranger, the making-up of a business partner wholeclothe, the going along with the harmless farce.

is it just me or did anyone else notice that at the start of MAG 96 Ben mentions Sarah Baldwin as one of the Patrons?

“Is it Elias now then?”
What was it before? WHAT WAS IT BEFORE, JON?
Also, Sarah Baldwin trespassed? I’m assuming that this is not about the fact people were not supposed to be on the hospital. Does that mean in terms of fears? Is the hospital important to another fear?

mag 96 - return to sender
yet another episode representing those of us who'd just go along with the horrors because we're too scared of conflict lol
this relisten has given me a newfound appreciation of breekon and hope. honestly, they are just fucking hilarious in their own way. i don't think they ever activley kill anyone? anyway, them just showing up an making fun of this guy and then infiltrating his buisness is really funny if you take away the context. they're just funny little (evil) guys
post statement is also fun, in its own way. i was honestly expecting far more conflict between jon and daisy here, even if it was only a constant undercurrent of resentment, but they seem to be doing just fine here. i will admit i was never super interested in the skin stuff, but hey, it's fun to see sarah. honestly, it wasn't until the third time or so that i relistened to anglerfish that i noticed both she and daniel rawlings were mentioned there

girls when they relisten to a single podcast so many times over the course of a year (<- not exaggerating, they listen to this podcast every day for a year) to the point that they can recognize tiny thumps and noises in the background that no one else notices

I can't help but always feel really sorry for Alfred Breekon in this episode - it's by no means the worst thing the Stranger has done to someone, but there's something relatively mundane yet sad about losing control of this company he's spent his whole life working for to someone/something malicious that he doesn't understand.
His end also seems pretty awful, although the 'bite marks' seem a little odd for a Stranger related death? Not entirely sure what Breekon and Hope/the thing in the box actually did to him.
I also found the ending interrogation of 'Sarah Baldwin' by Jon and Daisy interesting. Daisy is the one pushing to simply kill her while Jon tries to interrogate - up until 'Sarah' mentions Sasha, at which point Daisy has to get Jon to focus. It's heartbreaking how much Jon actually cares about his assistants, especially Sasha.
Oh man this episode haa alot of callbacks to sad times for all
