#ooough my poor cataclysmic bird daughter#she loved so much and destroy everything for it#she denounces existance because to exist is to suffer- and suffering is her enemy#not realizing that in doing so she breeds so much of the suffering she hates#several of the fallen stars only fell because her question spurred them into a self-absorbing path#and then... and then the one singular meteia that realize her folly... who could be convinced of lifes meaning#by seeing you continue ever onwards even with your dearest friends' deaths on your shoulder#by seeing how everyone accepts oblivion for another tomorrow- even if they had suffered so much. even if they wanted to die#no matter what they fought. they fought and died and kept marching forward even in death#they loved life enough to sacrifice it. how could she not accept that?#and the realization that the reason she came to the conclusion she did was because she was flawed- bc hermes was flawed#as hermes said- he gave her wings to fly but did not teach her how to tread the earth#she was given freedom to experience the feelings and emotions of the world- but not the groundwork to understand it#she could see. she could hear. but she could not comprehend#she has knowledge- but without context it gets misinterperated and warped#OUGH im going to scream. i miss her.#meteion#endsinger#final fantasy#final fantasy 14#final fantasy xiv#ff14#ffxiv#art#my art#xanders art#digital art#fan art

#ffxiv#hermes#meteion#hi tumblr friends! this took me roughly 3.5 hours to complete#i super enjoy filling canvases with little things it's incredibly rewarding whenever i go back to look at them#don't ask me how many meteia there are in this though i didn't count#oh speaking of filled canvases i find that a key factor in them being visually interesting is colour variation#well that and having many things to look at#it ultimately depends on where you want to pull focus too but for something more generalised an even spread is best

my theory that there are no more habitable stars within millennia of ours is making these quests slightly more bleak,

But I think the meteia destroyed them all#they have had more or less TWELVE THOUSAND YEARS to do it mind you#which kind of plays into my funny headcanons bc that’s barely enough time for widespread evolution (just variation on basic levels)#but I think that in the first ages that we don’t know much about they were a) much longer than the later ages and b) all of that creation#magic was still floating around trying to do stuff before it settled#so people were VERY quickly developing and abandoning traits just by. desiring them#quickly as in a few generations at a time#it calmed around the first astral era; wherein gods became men and creation magics more or less vanished

#lost in the SAUCE#it got me thinking about a gpose idea#thinking about the. the stay safe everyone. and come back#line from EW. and krile’s you must triumph#like. painting a picture for a second of like#eyrie in the elpis field with the meteia hiding their eyes at they turn to face the camera#but they are smiling and there’s just the text of you promised. I know#cringe is dead I think they both have nightmares about ultima thule#eyrie has them a lot it’s like. pick a moment#the twins are the nightmare they have the most. losing them for good#but losing Estinien is a nightmare that comes close behind#it’s a resurgent nightmare of losing someone you love#but Estinien has nightmares of finding eyrie in the elpis field#beyond the fuck it we ball of canon#I think it’s like. a case of eyrie didn’t show up at the ship so everyone went out to explore again#and the teleporter did work after a fashion#it just being created by the mix of eyrie and zenos’s wishes took them to the elpis field#Zenos’s desire for eyrie to live + their own desire to have a nice place to die#meant they ended up in the field#it just ended up being that the scions found their body w a few of the meteia around them#i think about UT a lot Shdjdjd#endwalker spoilers#owen talks
