a witching hour // sam golbach
A/N: so i actually thought of this fic as a colby fic first, but i needed a fic idea for sam and figured this one worked well for him as well. idk if you've ever seen halloweentown two, but there is a party scene where kalabar turns everyone into what their costumes are, and that's kinda what this one is like. except with a bit of sexy twist lol hope you enjoy and happy 13 nights of halloween !!
prompt: something is incredible off at sam and colby's halloween party. everyone is acting like their costumes, and nothing makes sense. and then you run into sam… dressed as a vampire. || fem!reader x sam golbach
trigger warning: vampire!sam, cursing, drinking, party scene, mentions of blood and killers but you don't see any of that, blood drinking obviously, crush-confession, twist ending?, manipulation powers used on reader, possessive language used by sam, also he's a bit of a dick in this lol but only slightly
word count: 3381

I constantly run late to everything: meetings, work, important events, and on this night... parties.
It was Sam and Colby's annual Halloween bash. After yet another successful Hell Week, the boys were throwing an all-out banger with every influencer in sight. And I, like usual, ran late to the party.
I'm not sure if you can be late to a party like this, but my texts from Sam and Colby said otherwise.
My excuse this time? I couldn't figure out my costume. I couldn't decide between two costumes, so I ended up going as a witch. Basic, I know, but classic. I finally called an uber, after pregaming a little at my apartment, and headed over to their place. On the way over, a flash of green lightning lit up the sky for a brief moment, in the same direction as their house. I stared at the window, puzzled. There's no way only one flash of thunder would happen if it was going to rain. Especially being green. It must have been a light show or fireworks nearby.
I got dropped off at the front of their house, sending them a quick text that I was outside. As I got to their gate, where usually there would have been a line with a security guard, there was nothing. Maybe I wasn't late after all and instead was super early. Checking the flyer they sent out, that wasn't true. It was already after midnight, and the party started at ten.
I walked into their property, shutting the gate behind me. I expected to see tons of people out front, since that usually was the case; but there was no one. The music was still playing loudly in the house, so there must have been people inside. As I walked towards the front door, I passed by a pile of Barbie dolls.
Who would bring a bunch of Barbies with them?
I glanced at the dolls, bending down, and picking one up. She was very pretty, but her outfit was unlike other Barbie fits I had seen before. Something about it was very revealing for a kids' toy. Granted, the last time I played with Barbies was when I was 10 so maybe my memory wasn't proof enough.
I stared at the doll's face a bit longer. Something about it was so familiar. She looked like someone I knew in the eeriest way. Staring at it too long, I thought I saw it blink. I lightly dropped the doll on the ground, standing back up again.
Just when I was about to open the front door, a soft 'meow' echoed behind me. I turned around and saw two cats, one all black and then another one.... that was pink.
Who the hell would dye their cat pink?
I wanted to reach out and pet them, but they scattered from the noise in front of me. The front door had opened on its own. I stepped forward, walking into Sam and Colby's home.
The place was completely trashed.
Furniture was ripped up, the mirror was smashed in, tables flipped over, cups all over the ground. It looked like a stampede ran through the house. I walked over the broken glass, looking around for anyone. I could see out the back door that no one was there either. Or if they were, they were hiding.
"Sam? Colby? Guys?" I called out, trying to reach for a light.
"Don't do that!" Responded a soft voice from a closet nearby.
I turned around and saw a friend of mine, Sarah, dressed as Rapunzel. She waved me over, opening the door quickly. I jumped over the broken furniture and made it over to her.
"Sarah, what the hell happened?" I asked as she closed the door.
"I'm sorry, you must have me mistaken for someone else. My name is Rapunzel." She smiled.
I rolled my eyes. "Okay, very funny, Sarah. But tell me. What happened? Did someone break into the house?"
"I don't really remember everything that happened. Everyone was outside, having fun. It was like the lantern festival! And then, a witch appeared on top of the house and yelled out something. It must have been a spell of some sort. And everybody started running." Sarah gasped, recounting the tale.
"How is that possible? And lantern festival? Why are you taking this costume to heart? I don't think this is the time for that." I glared, annoyed.
"This isn't a costume. This is how I always dress." She argued quietly.
"Rapunzel!" Someone yelled from behind the door. "Let me in! It's Velma."
"What's the password?" Sarah questioned, raising up a frying pan in defense.
Where the fuck did you get a frying pan from?
"Scooby snacks." Replied the voice.
"Oh okay," Sarah opened the door politely. "It is you Velma! I just had to be sure."
"You can never be too safe out there." Alice, another friend of mine, responded. I glanced up and down at her costume: Velma. From Scooby Doo.
I huffed, "Okay, you both seriously need to tell me what the fuck is going on?"
They both gasped. Sarah covered her ears lightly, in unison they hushed, "Language!"
"You're kidding me, right?" I deadpanned.
"Who are you?" Alice questioned.
"This is.... uh," Sarah started, then turned to me, smiling. "You actually haven't said your name."
"I'm Y/N..... we've known each other for like five years?" I scowled.
"We have?" They replied.
I rubbed my temples, feeling like my brain was going pop out of my eyes from how annoyed and confused I was. "Alright, can either one of you explain what is happening right now? Quickly."
"I can't remember much, but I've been searching for some clues while I was running around the house. What I remember happening was a witch of some kind appeared on top of the roof-" Alice began.
"Said some form of spell, and everyone started running? Yeah, 'Rapunzel' told me that already." I quipped.
"It wasn't just any spell, it was spell turned everyone into their costumes... whatever that means." Alice stated, putting her hands on her hips.
My face dropped. "I'm sorry, what?"
"Oh! Green lightning flashed over the sky when she said the spell!" Sarah jumped, excitedly. "She must have been an evil witch."
"Witches aren't real. It most likely was a trick of light, kind of like what magicians use to hide their tricks." Alice mentioned.
"I saw the lightning on my way over here...." I shook my head, sighing. "There's no way this is real. You guys must be pranking me or something. Is this Sam and Colby's doing?"
"I don't know who a 'Sam' or 'Colby" is." Sarah replied innocently.
"The guys that invited you to this party??" I pulled out my phone, pulling up a picture that one of them had posted on their snapchats. "These guys!"
"The vampire one went upstairs, and the pirate one is outside fighting a prince in the backyard." Alice pointed out, pointing to Sam, and then Colby.
"Fighting? What do you mean by that?" I furrowed my brow.
"With swords." Alice said plainly.
"Oh no! Your hand is bleeding!" Sarah gaped, gazing at Alice's hand.
"I must have cut it looking around for clues." Alice commented.
"What clues are you even...." I grumbled, trailing off and glaring up at the ceiling.
Sarah wrapped her hair around Alice's hand, holding it lightly. She then began to sing. "Flower, gleam and glow..."
Her hair began to light up slowly, starting from her scalp and eventually ending at the ends of her braided hair.
I can only imagine how expense that wig was.
Sarah pulled her hair away from Alice's cut... and it was gone.
I blinked. "I'm sorry, am I super drunk right now, or did your hair just heal her cut?"
"Jinkies..." Alice whispered, staring at her hand and blushing.
I took a deep breath, needing to get out of this closet. "I'm gonna go find Sam."
"He's a vampire, right? My mom warned me about men with sharp teeth. Be careful." Sarah informed.
"Right..." I opened the closet door, turning back around for a moment. "Hey Alice? I mean, Velma?"
"Yes?" She asked.
I grabbed her glasses off her face, dropping them onto the floor.
Sarah, Rapunzel, whatever, frowned dramatically. "Well, that wasn't very nice.
"My glasses.... I can't see without my glasses." Alice, Velma, whatever waved her hands around, trying to find where I dropped them.
"You don't even wear glasses! Oh my God, you guys are the worst!" I groaned, stepping out the closet and shutting the door.
I rushed over to the stairs, needing to get upstairs as soon as possible. As I reached the top, I gazed down over the railing. I watched as someone dressed as Ghostface ran after.... Britney Spears.
Britney Spears was at this party? Like 'Baby One More Time' Britney? There's no way. Maybe they weren't joking about the witch turning everyone into- NO. This is all some weird joke, probably pulled by Sam and Colby because of how often I'm late.
This isn't happening, this isn't happening, this is NOT happening.
I opened the bedroom door to what used to be Colby's room. I wanted to see the entire backyard from a safe distance. The room was dark, the only light coming from outside by the drawn curtains. I raced over to the windows, looking around outside. The backyard was equally as trashed.
A man-wolf monster stood on top of the slide for the pool, letting out a deep, animalistic howl. By the basketball courts, Colby was sword fighting with a guy dressed in a prince costume. Other people, or characters, were hiding around, peaking out occasionally from their spots. And I swore for a moment I saw someone fly away on a broom stick.
"What the fuck?" I whispered, my eyes widening at the scene.
"It's dangerous out there." A familiar voice rang out.
I jumped, a squeak leaving my lips as I turned around. In the shadows of the room was Sam, gazing at me mischievously.
"Oh my God, Sam. You scared the shit out of me." I clutched my chest, taking a deep breath. "What the fuck is going on?"
"A witch did this to us." Sam replied casually.
"That's what Alice and Sarah said. That a witch turned everyone into their costumes. Wait, how do you remember?" I inquired.
He shrugged, stepping towards me. "I'm just a generic vampire. So I guess I remember everything, and I'm still me."
"And since Colby dressed up as a pirate, he thinks he's a swash-buckler?" I joked half-heartedly.
"I guess so." Sam chuckled.
I questioned, "How long will this last?"
"An hour. So, in ten minutes it will be over." He confirmed, crossing his arms tightly.
I sat down on the edge of the bed, "Oh, well that's good. Since I think I saw Ghostface trying to kill Britney Spears."
"That would be such a waste of blood..." Sam's voice deepened.
I leaned away from his voice, "That was kinda freaky of you to say."
He smirked. "I can't help it. I'm a vampire."
"For ten more minutes. Maybe stay over there until this is all over." I hissed, uncomfortable.
"Why?" He leaned towards me, still far away, "You think I'm gonna bite you?"
"Probably." I teased.
Sam shook his head. "I would only do that if you asked me to."
“Well that's not gonna happen. So, let's stop talking about it.” I sassed.
"I think I can sit next to you though." His body appeared next to mine, sitting on the edge of the bed.
I jumped up, turning to him. "Jesus! You have fucking speed abilities?"
He hummed, "I guess so. You know what other powers I have?"
"No, what?" I jeered slightly.
"I can make people do what I say." He grinned wickedly, his fangs shining in the light.
I raised an eyebrow at him, "How do you even know that?"
"I told all the people hiding in this room to leave and go somewhere else. Some of them are outside in the backyard." He answered.
"Well, that was a little rude of you to do." I narrowed my eyes.
He scoffed. "This is my house. I'm allowed to kick people out of it."
"I guess you can. But maybe be a bit more conside-" I started.
He cut me off, his tone changed. "How would you feel if I drank your blood?"
"What?" I turned and looked at him.
His eyes caught mine, and suddenly I was entranced. "How would you feel if I drank your blood? Be honest."
The truth came out of me easily, I couldn't stop it from slipping from my lips. "I wouldn't mind it."
"And why is that?" He continued, standing up.
"Because I've had a crush on you for a while. Plus, vampires are really hot. And you as a vampire is, like, extra hot." I admitted in a daze.
"Wow...." Sam beamed, pulling his gaze away. "Now that's insane."
The moment I could think for myself, I spun around covering my face. "Oh my God, Sam! Why would you make me say that?!"
"I didn't make you say anything! I just made you tell the truth." He explained defensively, almost jokingly.
I whined, "Still! You didn't have to make me do that."
"So... do you want me to bite you?" He asked again.
I turned back to him, pissed. "No, I don't."
"Really?" His eyes somehow caught mine again, and I was lost. "Be honest."
"I would totally be into it," I squeezed my eyes shut as Sam looked away smugly. "Oh my God, you suck."
"Only if you want me to...." He teased.
"That's not..." When I opened my eyes again, his were already boring into mine. I felt lightheaded, and immediately could barely think. "Fun...ny."
"Get closer to me." He ordered.
My body moved without my permission, stepping up to Sam. I could feel his warmth radiate against my skin from how close we were together.
"Do you actually have a crush on me?" He queried.
I nodded my head. "Yeah, I think so."
"You think so?" His hands trailed up and down my arms, soothingly. "Would it be a bit stronger if I bit you?"
"It would." I revealed, unable to lie.
"Okay then. Good to know," he snickered. "Tilt your head and show me your neck."
I followed Sam's command, tilting my head to the side and allowing him more access to my neck. Sam's hold around me tightened, his mouth lowering down until he was almost against my neck.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, Y/N. I would never hurt you," his voice was just above a whisper. Sultry and seductive. "Also.... I like you too."
I exhaled, "Wha-?"
Suddenly his fangs sunk deep into my neck. A soft wince escaped my throat, my body tensing up. I gripped onto his arms, my nails almost digging in. It was a bit painful but exhilarating at the same time. I felt high, each breath feeling like a rush of dopamine.
Sam moaned against my neck, removing his mouth for a second. His tongue lapped at my skin, getting all of the extra blood that fell from his mouth. "Fuck, you taste heavenly."
"Sam, I think you shou-" I mumbled, my voice raspy.
He plunged his teeth back in, a harsh gasp falling from my lips. I thought of pushing him away, but instead my hands pulled him in more. My vision began to blur, and my legs could barely stay up on their own. I felt my legs give out, but Sam held me up, his torso crushing into mine.
"Don't worry, Y/N, I got you. I'll never let you go. You're mine, forever." He growled.
"S-Sam." I choked.
My eyes began to flutter, my breathing slowing down to an almost halt. And still, he continued to drink and drink. I felt like I was floating and falling all at the same time. And I didn't even care. It felt so good to be in his arms, to have him consume me.
I could hear a soft whisper in the distance. It sounded familiar but was muffled. It grew louder and louder by second, saying the same thing over and over again. Finally, as it sounded closer, I could make out what it was saying: my name.
And then like a freight train, someone screamed it. "Y/N!"
My eyes popped open, focusing immediately on Sam's face. He was looking down at me concerned, almost in a panic.
"Y/N, oh thank God. I thought we were gonna have to call 911 or something." Sam sat back on his knees, his chest heaving.
I glanced around as my eyes adjusted to the light. I was in Colby's room, but from an angle I wasn't used to. I tried to sit up, suddenly realizing I was on the floor. Sam propped up an arm around me sitting me up and leaning me against the couch.
"Wha... happened?" I uttered, rubbing my neck.
"Well, we were all downstairs partying, and you said you didn't feel good all of sudden. So we both came up here, and I went to use the bathroom. And when I came out, you were passed out on the floor." He responded, worried.
I squinted at him, confused out of my mind. "So... there wasn't a witch that turned everyone into their costumes?"
He blinked. "Should I still call 911? How hard did you hit your head?"
"No. No, I'm okay." Sam helped me up slowly, still propping me against the couch, "I must have had one hell of a dream when I passed out."
"Are you feeling okay? Tell me, seriously." He looked into my eyes.
I glanced away quickly, "Yeah, I'm... fine. I don't even feel drunk. What time is it?"
He checked his watch. "It's 1:05."
"After midnight..." I realized, muttering.
He furrowed his brow. "What?"
"Nothing. I'm okay Sam. Really. You know how I can get sleepy after I drink too much. Maybe that's what happened." I tried to reassure.
"Yeah maybe..." He trailed off.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick." I stated, standing up completely.
Sam stepped towards me. "Do you need help?"
"No, I'm okay." I grinned at his nervousness, "Seriously, I'm fine. Don't worry."
I trudged over to the bathroom, leaning against the sink to collect my thoughts.
So.... that was all a dream I had while passed out? Holy shit, I'm never drinking again.
I looked up, scanning my face slowly. I looked the same as I did when I left my house. Except, I had no recollection of how I got here. I mean, in the dream I took an uber... so maybe that's what happened? But God; that dream felt so real. It truly felt like Sam was drinking my blood and draining me. And holy shit, I confessed I had feelings for him!
I sighed deeply, looking over my face once more. My eyes drifted further down and widened at the sight. Two fang marks were right by my jugular, right where Sam had been biting me.
"Sam! Can you come in here for a second?" I yelled, my breathing speeding up.
A moment later the door opened, Sam entering. "What's wrong?"
I spun to him, glaring. "Why do I have two fang marks in my neck... like a vampire bit me?"
"What are you talking about?" He puzzled.
I pointed to my neck. "Right here! What are these?"
"Y/N, there's nothing there." He informed.
"Yes there i-" I turned around, looking in the mirror. He was right. The marks were gone. My skin was clear, as if they never existed in the first place. "Oh."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Sam wrapped an arm around me sweetly, rubbing my back.
I stuttered, "Y-Yeah. I must have just saw something."
"Must have. Because like I said, there's nothing there." His gaze met mine in the mirror, "Right, Y/N?"
"Right. There's nothing there." I said dreamily.
"Good," he smiled warmly. "Now, let's get back down to the party. If you're feeling up to it, of course."
I nodded, taking Sam's hand and leaving the bedroom, following him back to the party.

Brief Volume 4 Tidbits
Tumblr media
Huh, this man, who we assume is Meryl's father looks like he's wearing headphones around his neck. I wonder if his occupation was something in mass communications, like radio. And in Trigun Stampede Meryl is a journalist instead of an insurance agent.....Maybe this is a connection that gets explored in the show's future.
Speaking of Meryl, I'm so amused that this drinking outfit was apparently the inspiration for the frog button closure top she wears in Stampede. The creators at Studio Orange really went through every panel of this manga with a fine-toothed comb, didn't they?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aw, the men are bummed that Meryl and Milly went pregaming without them. The friend group is taking root.
**EDIT: Total oopsie on my part about Meryl's costuming. I completely forgot that shirt shows up in Trigun volumes 1 and 2. It looks like it's her regular top and the cloak covers the frog button part most of the time. Sorry my brain is all shot to hell today

[ad_1] The Calgary Stampeders will observe Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with a brand new logo designed by several local indigenous artists. The logo will be sported on Stampeders' helmets when they travel to Hamilton to face the Tiger-Cats on Sept. 30. The team will also wear orange jerseys during the pregame warm-up in honour of residential school survivors. The special logo, designed by Richard Running Rabbit, Jacob Alexis and Siksika Health Services (SHS) CEO Dr. Tyler White, re-imagines the classic Stampeders horse in the style of contemporary plains-style traditional art. "There's always pressure as Native people, we want to represent our people well, as well as produce something that people are gonna like and wear," said Richard Running Rabbit, a member of Siksika Nation who also works for SHS."I think we did a really good job on that." Designed by Jacob Alexis, Richard Running Rabbit and Siksika Health Services CEO Dr. Tyler White, the basic concept for the special logo to be worn on the Stampeders’ helmets emulates the Contemporary Plains Style Traditional Art. The symbols used are paint styles that would be… pic.twitter.com/jZDdlCKiDk—@calstampedersSome of the paint-style symbols included on the horse logo are a hand-print on the animal's chest for fierceness, lightning bolts on its front legs for speed and agility, and spots on its hind quarters representing creation stories and teachings.  "We're a plains culture out here in Calgary, and the horse is a big part of our culture," said Running Rabbit. "We got a chance to put some markings on the horse that had some cultural significance and tied it to the land out here."A braid will also run down the middle of the Stampeders' helmets in remembrance of residential school students who were forced to cut off their braids when they attended those schools, said Running Rabbit. "The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an important part of the acknowledgement of the tragedies of the past and the ongoing process of atonement and healing," John Hufnagel, Stampeders president, said in a statement. "The Calgary Stampeders are proud to partner with the people of Treaty 7 and the Canadian Football League to participate in this observance."Running Rabbit said that while he thinks the Stampeders' efforts to participate in the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a step in the right direction, he hopes viewers understand the healing doesn't stop there. "It's more than just a day, it's more than just an event," said Running Rabbit. "I hope [viewers] learn to understand the true history of Canada and some of the hardships, but also the beauty of Native culture."Fans can purchase T-shirts and sweatshirts with the special edition logo in the Calgary Stampeders online shop, with proceeds going to local youth programming in Treaty 7 First Nation communities, according to the organization's social media accounts.  [ad_2]

3 mini ramp plans
Tumblr media
The game is dominating the talk from coast-to-coast, and it's a bucket-list clash of two of the top-five winningest programs in NCAA history. ESPN's College GameDay, FOX's Big Noon Kickoff pregame show and as always LHN's Longhorn GameDay will broadcast live from our campus, the Heisman House is back, and all of our pregame festivities will be rockin' & rollin' bright and early. 1-ranked Crimson Tide of Alabama in a game the eyes of the nation will be firmly on. We had one heck of a time, and you know it, we get to take it up a notch and do it all again this week. Then, in those iconic Burnt Orange & White unis, charged out the tunnel, fed off your energy and stampeded through ULM from the opening kickoff in rolling to an emphatic 52-10 season-opening victory. We were reunited and it felt so good! What an absolute joy it was visiting with you all around the stadium all afternoon before the game, then once we got inside, y'all brought that patented passion, pride and Texas Fight BIG-TIME! Readying for game day, Coach Sark and the squad were dressed to the nines (shout out to our guy Carlton Dixon and Reveal Suits) as they strolled through your fist bumps & high fives and exchanged Hook 'Em Horns all the way down San Jacinto during our traditional Stadium Stampede. Okay y'all, we knew we missed you and our Saturdays together at BEVO Blvd, Longhorn City Limits, Smokey's Midway, Hook 'Em Hangout and DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, but as our guy Gomer Pyle said back in the day, "well GALL-LEE" it was so, SO good to be together again.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and franchise quarterback Dane Evans have launched a new initiative called ‘Play it Forward’ to provide support for youth from local Indigenous communities.
Evans, who is of Wichita descent, hopes the program can inspire and empower Indigenous youth.
“My parents instilled in me the importance of paying it forward and it’s something I’ve always tried to prioritize, specifically with the youth,” said Evans in a statement. “I hope the kids come out, have a great time and they too can realize the importance of paying it forward, regardless of who you are or how successful you may be.”
Play it Forward will provide 20 tickets for Indigenous youth to attend each of the Ticats’ nine regular season home games this year with sideline access to watch pregame warmups. Hamilton is scheduled to play its home-opener on Saturday, June 18 against the visiting Calgary Stampeders.
Evans will also invite 100 youth from Indigenous communities to Tim Hortons Field for Play it Forward Day on July 5, which will include activities and games on the field as well as the opportunity to interact with Evans and his Ticats teammates. Transportation to and from the event and a Play It Forward t-shirt will be provided for all the youth who attend.
“LiUNA is proud to partner with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to present the Play It Forward program in strong support of our Indigenous communities. The program will advance opportunities and provide unique local experiences for hundreds of Indigenous youth, inspiring and empowering through the power of sport,” said LiUNA executive Joseph Mancinelli.
“On behalf of LiUNA we know firsthand how important mentorship is in strengthening opportunities for youth, eliminating barriers to reach their full potential and building strong, inclusive communities. We look forward to kicking off the program and welcoming you to the stadium together with Dane Evans and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats!”

Denis Leary is making an animated vignette series based on Dogs Playing Poker and 10 Other Pieces of Kitsch Art That Should Be Turned Into TV
Tumblr media
KITSCH auction house tremors and stampedes.
Dennis Leary basically discovered sex, drugs and rock n’ roll with his 2015 two season FX series Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll. Leary’s always been one of those guys that can’t be beaten down  in spite of how dopey and cynical his edgy working class personal brand is. He’s got an entire deal set up with Fox, the flailing broadcasting company has placed all of their chips on a Denis with only one lousy  “N” in his name. I can’t even with this fake Irish Bostonian droid. Relish in the delicate thought process of Leary and leftover former Daily Show producer, Jim Margolis,  bringing up a Pinterest screen grab of the Dogs Playing Poker by Grand Master of Kitsch Cassius Marcellus Coolidge and money signs popping out of both of their heads. Here is a dramatic retelling of this thought process:
“Yo, get this Big D,” salivates the recently fired from Netflix Jim Margolis to Leary over a Zoom, “Fox got this Bento Box Animation Studio sitting around doing nothing but churning out animated interstitials for the Masked Singer, Paradise PD, The Prince, The Blues Brothers animated series, animated Harold And Kumar, Housebroken, The Great North, and ugh..um..Hoops..”
“I fuckin love Hoops, Jimmy! Why aren’t we pitching this on Netflix again?”
“Because Dogs Playing Poker is going to work so much better as pregame filler for live Sporting Events...on Fox.”
“Oh yeah. All of those rotten good for nothing grease monkey and lunch pail people will probably be giving each other Budweiser flavored Covid at the local saloon with these damn dog pictures hanging up. It’s like when old drunks would stay out late and watch the Flinstones at the bar, did you know that actual human male adults would sit in a town like Boston and waste away in a bar watching Flintsones. Can you believe that Johny?”
“My name is Jimmy, err Jim, but yeah Denis we’ll send you the scripts over. Any idea who we should cast?”
Tumblr media
“Get me the hot blonde from Inspector Gadget 2, God dammit I miss Louie..are we sure we can’t get Louie back on air?”
“Afraid after Patton Oswalt dognapped his role from him in Secret Life of Pets, Louie CK has been banned from ever appearing as a talking dog again.”
“So bogus. Bobby Kelly will have to do.” Denis gets a text. “Dammit, Adam is getting all thirsty for this juicy  delicious bone. Gotta throw a  big bone to my dog Ferrera. Who else?”
“Ok. I’ll get one of those sad Daily Show losers. Um picking one at random, Roy Wood Jr. They’ll pretty much jump into anything, because John Oliver was in Love Guru they start thinking they can fail their way up.”
“I said no politics at the table! Paws off the table! This is going to be so fucking lit!”
////
Tumblr media
Kitsch Art deserves so much more. George Lucas, retired American filmmaker, robber baron of childhoods and all around  mensch has been heavily invested in the kitsch art of Norman Rockwell. There are a bounty of stories to tell. Too many of them are far too white and basic, but there are rich narratives to be found in his out of date even for his own time romanticism of The Old Masters. Hopelessly out of date could have been a failing of Rockwell, but his politics grew progressive as his career went on and fought against the system. Cassius Marcellus Coolidge is the man that operated the first bank in Antwerp, New York  had the astronaut-like grace to wonder, “what if dogs played poker like people played poker?” A painting that dates back to 1894 used as means to sell cigars. What strikes me most about this painting is that they aren’t wearing clothes, but I bet when you try to imagine the painting you imagine these dogs fully decked out in some sort of work coat. There is a further anthropromized version of the ad called “His Station and Four Aces” that depicts a glimpse at a look at an entire canine furry society. His ideas of putting an animal in clothes remains to this day one of the most novel and surefire commercially friendly means of artistic expression. The original cynical man laughing all the way to the bank, his own bank that he founded to boot.
Tumblr media
Seen above: An example of a Comic Foreground that also demonstrates the failings of having too few people in your party to properly partake in the comic foreground experience.
“Cash” Cassius wasn’t the first man to imagine a domestic pet in people clothes, but he’s probably one of the few to do so with such commercial finesse. The man also at one point filed the patent on the “Comic Foregrounds,” which is the technical name of one of those carnival boards with holes to stick your head in. In post Covid times how many more heads will be salivating and rushing towards those holes to pop their heads in to create a lasting memory, if only for a second. So when I start learning more about this remarkable weirdo Cassius Coolidge, a man according to his official website dogsplayingpoker.com’s Biography: “Trying to chase mischievous boys from an abandoned house, he fell from a window and hurt his knee, leaving him injured for the rest of his life.”
Flash forward back to 2021 and Denis Leary and his career a man with a wikipedia with fun entries about all the accusations of plagiarism and hate speech against autism I start to worry about the legacy of more Kitsch art falling into the hands of other greedy and desperate TV executives. That being said if you are a greedy TV executive who happens to be a maniac that likes reading rando’s tumblr pages do I have a list for you!
TOP TEN PIECES OF KITSCH ART THAT SHOULD BE TURNED INTO SOME KIND OF SOMETHING
“We Are Having a Heavenly Time” Columbian Bike Monkey and Parakeet by, once again, Cassius Coolidge
Tumblr media
Coolidge’s anthropomorphic foresight strikes again! This time he effortlessly establishes a captivating duo that could be easily voiced by an endless combination of celebrity voice actors. PAUL RUDD as “Monkey” and ISSA RAE as “Parakeet” present “We Are Having a Heavenly Time” present a travel show. You could basically use whatever leftover footage you have lying around from the many Conan O’Brien segments and plug Monkey and Parakeet and their trusty bicycle anywhere for an irreverent glimpse into the foreign World around us.
2. “Clown and The Girl” by Haddon Sundblom
Tumblr media
Now I know what you’re thinking, that title is miserable! I agree, but with a little  reverse engineering you get The Girl and Clown, which could be a whole new addition to the Girl on a Train, Girl with a Dragon Tattoo, Girl with a Dangly Earpiece, the Girl-Verse! The girl appears to be quite fearless of this clown, which is good because we need someone to be brave for when the clown takes off his mask.
Sundblom is also the original artist for the Coke a cola Santa Claus and how is it that we have gone this many rotations around the sun without a single Coke a cola Santa Claus special is the real reason why Christmas will always be the saddest time of year.
3. “Clean Your Fornasetti” based around the artistic Plate collection of Pierro Fornasetti
Tumblr media
Muk bangs, videos of people eating are a huge cyber traffic boom. People love watching people eat. Why not add the element of surprise by what kind of playful Fornasetti chanteuse is hiding underneath this plate full of gruel? Fornasetti is an artist with over 11,000 items created in his name and over 500 of them are based around a variety of expressions of a single woman. Clean Your Fornasetti is a deep and poetic rumination of the romance between the act of someone cleaning their plate and the reveal that the plate contained a visual feast all its own.
4. “Mickey’s Kinkade Playhouse” by the one and only Thomas Kinkade
Tumblr media
The Kinkade Studios features over 63 “narrative panoramas” featuring Disney characters, but largely Mickey and Minnie, simply vibing. It’s time we stop pretending that small children like Mickey Mouse and market him for wistful older audiences that want to radiate in a nice long warm bath of color and sound. I am not sure I am even pitching an actual series but more of a Narrative Panoply. One thing that is missing from Disney Plus, and streaming services in general, is a severe lack of programming frills and flourishing. The iconic Adult Swim bumps are something completely lost to the dustbins of programming history left to remain in youtube compilations. Thomas Kinkade is a lot like Enya. Art critics treated him like a comedic punching bag for so long, but I doubt there’s an artist that grasps the kind of sterile enchantment people want after a long day of opioid benders. We’re all trapped inside doing puzzles why not do the bare minimum of slightly animating a pleasant scene of Mickey and Minnie roasting marshmallows or enjoying a breath of fresh Alpine air?
5. “Dust Lickers” by Odd Nerdrum
Tumblr media
Quick! Get me Trash Humpers’ Harmony Korine on the Line Show him Shit Rock! The world of Odd Nerdrum is a harsh and primeval one that would make for an astonishing animated landscape. Odd Nerdrum himself feels like a worthy subject of some kind of documentary based around his imagery and insistence on making his art in the most arcane and old fashioned methods possible. Once again, maybe the visual world of Odd Nerdrum may not make for a full on narrative series, but once again would make for one hell of an animated segment.
6. “Homemade Pasta” by John Currin
Tumblr media
A cozy Queer slice of life cooking drama based around the two charming fellows of John Currin’s Homemade Pasta scene. A series of vignettes based around the completely unfabulous and domestic version of bliss that was denied many people as a result of the AIDS crisis. You can’t tell me you don’t see those two nice guys getting cozy and making pasta together and you aren’t dying to see how they go about rolling out their own focaccia bread.
7. “The Velvet Elvis” by the Collective Conscious
Tumblr media
David Lynch at one point in time was trying to crack into making his own Elvis biopic. I think it’s pretty safe to say that the age of a public wanting a David Lynch directed Elvis biopic has probably passed, but that does not stop Velvet art enthusiasts. TheVelvetStore.com is featuring a remarkable promo that could really bump up what a David Lynch Elvis movie could be like and the horror of having one’s soul trapped inside of a Velvet Elvis rendition painting seems like a pretty fertile place to begin a proper story about Elvis in America.
8. “Big Eye Bunch” by Margaret Keane
Tumblr media
Yes, it was only a matter of time before Ms. Big Eyes herself, Queen of Kitsch, Margaret Keane would come up on a list like this. Tim Burton tried and sort of kind of captured what it so endearing about Keane’s work, but I think a fully animated dive into an orphanage full of sad Big Eye kids that time travel and meet other Big Eyed children version of historical figures is a Big Idea that could make a whole new generation keen on Keane.
9. “Banality” by Jeff Koons
Tumblr media
An animated series based around the artistic sensibilities of Jeff Koons would be a tricky affair, but just the kind of gaudy whimsy that someone like Michel Gondrey could use to proper effect. A series based around someone trying to steal the fifteen million dollar Michael Jackson statue would also be appropriate.
10. “Groovenians reboot” by Kenny Scharf
Tumblr media
Scharf is the only artist on this list that actually was a kitsch artist that caught the attention of early aughts adult swim. A tv show that only features the artistic sensibilities of Scharf but also a voice acting cast that consisted of Paul Reubens, Rupaul, Vincent Gallo, and Dennis Hopper. There’s also a theme song performed by the B-52s and musical direction by Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh. One of the only known published reviews of the pilot describe the show as needing mind altering substances to enjoy and that it is essentially like “watching a cartoon reflected off of a funhouse mirror. This is basically a description of the modern tik tok addled twitchy type content that makes a killing on the Internet for millenial and zoomer types. Basically the whole aesthetic of a warped and broken looking cartoon is the exact sort of thing weirdos deep diving at youtube at four in the morning are looking for and seeing that this gets a failed pilot and Denis Leary’s Dog Poker vignettes get greenlit is exactly what’s wrong with the world.

spring stampede
i love edm. and it’s thanks to spring stampede. the day started off by going to sunfest and making new friends and playing fun games on the beach. then i changed and squad went to pregame at kyle’s. i met this guy named michael and we took a shot together and he was really excited to be there. i got to the perfect level of tipsy and let me tell you, being drunk in the day time is a weird experience. but we made it through security and got there just in time for cheat codes and they’re my favorite. i stuck around steph and kev most of the time because i knew that they knew what they were doing and i didn’t know what to expect. sarahbae joined us sometime around floss and holy fuck he’s so good. i just had such a blast just dancing around and having the time of my life. i want to rave forever now. alex told me that i should go to escape with them in october and he shared the event with me on fb and i really want to go! also i got a nickname in the group chat for the first time. it was “i like edm” sonora had to complain about it of course. because she posted in the group chat “i like edm now” and we want to studio together me her and sarahbae the next night to work on choreo projects and i was talking to alex about how i want to rave forever and i had such a good time so he gave me the edm nickname and sonora was like “what the, i put that in the group chat” and alex and sarahbae were right on top of her like well emma likes it too, we just talked about it. and sonora was like “oh” so shoutout to my friends for having my back when other friends get needy. this one white bitch yelled at me during cheat codes. she was dancing too close to me and pushing so i propped up my arms for some space and kind of pushed her back and she turned around and yelled at me “push me again i’m twice your size bitch” and i would’ve hit her back but i didn’t want to get kicked out of the venue. steph and kev looked at me and were like were so sorry that happened to you white people suck, and i was really glad they were there because i honestly felt like crying. and later when i told all my other friends they were right there with me telling me that they would’ve fucked the bitch up. alex in particular used a v vivid pico-de-gallo metaphor and sarahbae said she would’ve hit back so it’s just nice to know that i have great friends who care about me and would fight back. but anyways, i had such fan-freakin-tastic time and i want to rave for the rest of my life.

Grey Cup Championship
The most surprising jump comes from the BC Lions, who vaulted Edmonton in odds to both appear in and win the 107th Grey Cup game. However, the Esks could put that dream to bed in Week 17, as they’d clinch the crossover playoff position with a victory. That’s good news for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who won the West in 44 percent of sims and made it to the championship nearly half the time. They also feature in the most likely Grey Cup showdown for this week. Speaking of the Ticats, they remain in the drivers seat in the East. The victory over Winnipeg vaulted their chances to appear in the Grey Cup to 85 percent and their chances to win the whole thing up nearly 20 percent. Hamilton is also in the top three most likely matchups for the title. With the tight race atop the West Division continuing to amp up with every passing week, we got to see the weight that a win or a loss could have on the CFL Simulation. 107th Grey Cup 107th Grey Cup Festival 107th Grey Cup Championship Grey Cup Champions Grey Cup Championship Grey Cup Final Grey Cup Game CFL Grey Cup CFL Grey Cup Game Grey Cup Time Grey Cup Start Time Grey Cup TV Channel Grey Cup TV Coverage Grey Cup Halftime Show After being projected to be in the most likely Grey Cup matchup against Hamilton in the Week 16 edition of the sim, a loss to those very same Ticats severely hurt the Bombers’ this time around. Along with their drop to third place in the West standings, Winnipeg was also dealt huge blows to their odds to host a playoff game, win the division, and appear in the championship game. The model calculates each team’s probability of victory in each remaining game. It then simulates 10,000 replications of the remaining regularseason schedule and resulting playoff bracket including the possibility of a playoff crossover team.  For each replication, the model keeps track of a number of performance metrics for example, which teams earned home playoff games, which teams appeared in the Grey Cup, etc.. TigerCat fans everywhere, and the TigerCat organization, have worked hard to convey our enthusiasm for bringing the Grey Cup to Hamilton again, Ticats owner Bob Young said in a statement. We are thrilled to be in consideration by the Canadian Football League to host the upcoming 2020 Grey Cup game and festival, and we look forward with excitement and anticipation to the league’s announcement on February 21. We want to thank the CFL and the Grey Cup committee for their diligence throughout the bid process, he said in a statement. We feel like we put forth a strong and compelling bid to host the 2020 Grey Cup in our 110th anniversary year where we will be able to showcase Mosaic Stadium and Saskatchewan's incredible hospitality. We encourage our fans to come together on February 21st as we anxiously await the announcement. Hamilton last hosted a Grey Cup the infamous Snow Bowl game at Ivor Wynne Stadium in 1996, while Regina's Taylor Field was the site of the 101st Grey Cup that the hometown Riders won in 2013. Olympic Stadium last played host to the Grey Cup in 2008.This fall's Grey Cup, the 107th, is set to be hosted by the defending champion Calgary Stampeders on November 24 at McMahon Stadium. The CFL Simulator returned ahead of Week 13 and made Riderville very happy when it projected Saskatchewan as an early favourite to win the 107th Grey Cup. But following a lopsided loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on the road, the green and white dropped out of the top spot in all the categories they led in the first simulation. The biggest hit they took was to their Grey Cup odds. After being at nearly 50 percent a week ago, they sit at just 6 percent now and won the championship just three percent of the time. They’ve also had their odds to win the West dropped from 49 to 6 percent. The Bombers have jumped into the driver’s seat ahead of Week 14 action, and the Calgary Stampeders have now jumped into the conversation as a championship favourite again after winning both halves of their homeandhome series against Edmonton.Calgary has also received another spot in the top five Grey Cup matchups with their performance. In the East, Montreal made a jump up after winning their third straight game in Week 13 and they now feature in two of the five most likely championship game matchups. Their percentage to capture the championship went down because of Calgary’s surge, but their odds of hosting a playoff game went up. After beating Ottawa in their headtohead matchup in Week 13, the Toronto Argonauts improved their odds in nearly every category. On the other side, the REDBLACKS are now projected to finish with the worst record in the league at 414. While there's no love lost between the Montreal Alouettes and Calgary Stampeders, neither team is looking for a repeat of last game's fireworks.A heated contest between Montreal and Calgary in midAugust started with a pregame brawl and ended in a comefrombehind, overtime victory by the Alouettes. That wild finish — and the bad blood between both teams — is still fresh on everyone's minds as the Als 76 prepare to host the Stamps 94 on Saturday. That's not what we're about. That's not what they're about. There's always going to be a little talking back and forth, but we're going to make sure that our guys aren't into anything extracurricular. We'll let our play speak for itself. Before that Aug. 17 encounter even started, the pregame warmup turned into a full skirmish when Montreal cornerback Tommie Campbell traded punches with former Stampeder teammate Wynton McManis. Players from both teams converged on midfield and more punches were thrown. There were no suspensions following the fight, but three players were fined. We want to play with poise and we want to make sure not to get in altercations especially before a game, or during a game, Stamps coach Dave Dickenson told the team's website this week. That's not football to me. I don't think I really need to address a lot of it. Down 11 points with 45 seconds to play, the Alouettes scored a touchdown and twopoint conversion, then recovered the onside kick and booted a lastsecond field goal.It was Montreal's first win at McMahon Stadium since 2009. I'm sure they're watching the film to know what happened and the mistakes they feel they made, and what plays we made, said Jones of Saturday's opposition. Our guys have the knowledge that we can beat this team and we have to play really good football to do it. Since that loss, the defending Grey Cup champions have won four straight games and clinched a postseason berth. Calgary sits atop the West Division, tied with the Saskatchewan Roughriders 94 and a halfgame ahead of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 95.That fourgame win streak coincides with quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell's return from injury. Montreal is also getting its starting QB back this week. Vernon Adams Jr. returns after serving a onegame suspension for a dangerous and reckless act. The CFL suspended Adams for swinging a helmet at Winnipeg linebacker Adam Bighill on Sept. 21.The Alouettes quarterback was forced to watch from the sidelines as Montreal lost 2523 to the B.C. But this week I'm back and I'm glad to be back. I'm just trying to help lead and do whatever I can to bring a win to the home crowd. Montreal would clinch its first playoff spot since 2014 with a win or tie against the Stampeders. A postseason berth and home playoff game is all but guaranteed for the Alouettes, who will likely finish second in the East Division behind the Hamilton TigerCats. This city is buying into it, said Adams, who is tied for second in the league with 15 passing TDs. They have nothing but good things to say after our games. Even when we lose in those tight ones, they're still saying how much better we look from previous years. It shows how much we want to win for this city and this organization. The USF vs. UCF live blog: Knights outlast archrivals in the best game of 2017 so far
The War on I-4 delivered.
Fourth quarter
UCF 49, USF 42, :39. While the Bulls were driving, Mitchell Wilcox caught a pass and turned to run, but Richie Grant punched it loose, and Shaquem Griffin pounced on it. That’ll be your final score. Knights win the AAC East and will host Memphis next weekend, with a spot in a New Year’s Six bowl on the line. USF piled up 653 yards to UCF’s 543, with Quinton Flowers a school-record 605 total yards, but the Knights took better advantage of their opportunities overall. This was the best game of the year so far, and I’ll add a full highlight video as soon as one’s available.
UCF 49, USF 42, 1:28. Lmao UCF’s Mike Hughes just ran back the kickoff.
UCF 42, USF 42, 1:41. An 83-yard TD from Quinton Flowers to a WIDE-OPEN Darnell Salomon put the Bulls in position to tie, and Flowers found an equally wide-open D’Ernest Johnson for the two-pointer. So yeah! UCF running in that TD on the previous drive was a bad idea!
UCF 42, USF 34, 2:21. A screen to Otis Anderson turned into a winding, 23-yard touchdown, and this is still just a one-score game. UCF probably should’ve kneeled after the first down line and killed more clock, but points are fun to score!
UCF 35, USF 34, 4:03. Nine-play USF drive ends with a punt. Knights can just about ice the division.
UCF 35, USF 34, 7:13. And just like that, McKenzie Milton completes two big passes, one a streaking 45-yarder to Dredrick Snelson to retake the lead.
USF 34, UCF 28, 7:50. A game that was once totally frantic has stalled out for a while. Prepare for a silly finish.
USF 34, UCF 28, 14:02. Couple punts! We’re taking another break from offense for a little bit.
Third quarter
USF 34, UCF 28, 3:41. One UCF play, one INT by USF. Guess which Bull ran in the TD via juke right after that? Quinton Flowers is now up to 459 total yards and four total TDs.
UCF 28, USF 27, 4:42. The Quinton Flowers and Darius Tice show on that 11-play drive. Flowers is up to 429 total yards, and ...
Defensive linemen have to despise Quinton Flowers, this is so much running by fat dudes to just catch one guy
— BUM CHILLUPS (@edsbs) November 24, 2017
UCF 28, USF 20, 8:30. The Knights are back in business. McKenzie Milton found Tre'Quan Smith to capitalize on great field position, all set up by Shaquem Griffin bottling up Quinton Flowers on a pass rush.
Shaquem Griffin is one of college football's most amazing players everhttps://t.co/IlzHOXJ3YI
— SB Nation CFB (@SBNationCFB) November 24, 2017
UCF 21, USF 20, 11:33. That’s five straight stops by the Bulls. A fourth-and-1 throw from USF’s 28 hits the ground.
Second quarter
UCF 21, USF 20, halftime. Quinton Flowers had the Bulls moving toward a last-second field goal, but an INT by Mike Hughes made it four failed scoring chances for the Bulls. Red zone troubles and a missed XP have cost the Bulls a lot. They’re outgaining UCF, 396 to 247.
UCF 21, USF 20, :55. FOUR STRAIGHT PUNTS BY UCF. They’ve had four or fewer punts in seven full games so far.
UCF 21, USF 20, 2:09. Quinton Flowers ran or threw on six of seven plays in this TD drive, including the 21-yard toss to Mitchell Wilcox. Flowers is up to 365 total yards in the first half lol.
UCF 21, USF 13, 5:08. Look at these defenses! UCF three-and-out!
UCF 21, USF 13, 7:04. These offenses are still pulling off alley oops all over the place, but the defenses have finally caught up. Punt into the end zone by USF after a couple silly gains by Quinton Flowers.
Tyre McCants breaks the USF single-game receiving record... IN THE FIRST HALF!! He's at 201 yards receiving with 8 minutes remaining in the first half.
— Collin Sherwin (@USFCollin) November 24, 2017
UCF 21, USF 13, 10:13.
The Bulls snuff out the screen and C. will punt again. Back-to-back stops for the defense is huge.
— The Daily Stampede (@StampedeSBN) November 24, 2017
UCF 21, USF 13, 11:46. The Bulls stay alive with a 20-yard Quinton Flowers lob to a leaping Temi Alaka. USF missed the extra point, a USF specialty, and two different USF touchdowns on this drive were brought back by penalties, also a USF specialty.
UCF 21, USF 7, 13:49. USF got a stop! Now starting inside their own 10.
First quarter
UCF 21, USF 7, :48. USF punt. Bulls in major trouble. Knights looking ridiculous.
UCF 21, USF 7, 2:23. OK, McKenzie Milton is balling out. The Knights QB ran a really slick option, faking the pitch and keeping before dropping off the delayed pitch to Adrian Killins Jr. for the score.
I love a perfectly timed pitch. So pretty. Bonus being 5 yards past the line of scrimmage http://pic.twitter.com/IEg2IZZzR4
— Big Cat (@BarstoolBigCat) November 24, 2017
UCF 14, USF 7, 4:30. A USF field goal sails wide right, and that’s two scoring chances missed. That ain’t gonna cut it against UCF.
UCF 14, USF 7, 5:41. A scrambling McKenzie Milton made a nice throw over the top to Dredrick Snelson in the back of the end zone, completing a 10-play drive.
USF 7, UCF 7, 8:41. A stop! The Bulls came up short on fourth-and-1 in the red zone. Still probably the right call to go for it, since it’s hard to picture three-pointers winning this game.
USF 7, UCF 7, 11:16. The Knight strike right back with an eight-play drive, ending with QB McKenzie Milton keeping on a bootleg. Why yes, these are two of the country’s best offenses, why do you ask?
USF 7, UCF 0, 13:52. USF fans wanted some screen passes. They got ‘em, and a 47-yard Tyre McCants TD on the first drive of the game.
Wheeeeeeeee! http://pic.twitter.com/H2UJXaVWrE

Preview
Miami may have the best college football team in Florida — though it’s up for debate. The battle for the No. 2 slot wages Friday, and it doesn’t feature the Gators or Seminoles. The No. 15 UCF Knights will welcome the South Florida Bulls to Orlando for an AAC showdown that could determine the Group of 5’s New Year’s bowl invitee. The two teams meet at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday; the game will be broadcast live on ABC (live stream).
The 10-0 Knights have torn through their competition this fall, but the 9-1 Bulls represent the toughest matchup on their schedule — and possibly their last chance to make an impression on the College Football Playoff selection committee. This final-week showdown isn’t just a resume-booster; it will also determine who wins the AAC East. South Florida is the only team left that can knock UCF from its perch atop the division. A title game showdown with Memphis awaits the winner.
Time, TV channel, and streaming info:
Time: 3:30 p.m. ET
Location: Spectrum Stadium, Orlando
TV: ABC
Streaming: Watch ESPN
Odds: UCF is favored by 10 points.
USF vs. UCF news:
UCF celebrated a field goal last week by shotgunning imaginary beers and, oh God, just put them in the Playoff already.
South Florida may have gotten caught looking ahead to today’s game in a too-close-for-comfort win over 2-9 Tulsa last week.
“It was a tale of two halves,” head coach Charlie Strong said. “First half, we moved the ball up and down the field, they couldn’t stop us. We come back in the second half and we couldn’t move the ball at all.”
The secret to Scott Frost’s success? Opening up the UCF playbook.
Despite ranking No. 6 in total yardage, no individual Knight is averaging more than 73 yards either rushing or receiving.
Sixteen players have caught passes, more than Washington State or any of the country’s other eight most passing-friendly offenses. And 13 Knights have carries, a longer list than even Georgia Tech’s.
In 692 plays over eight games, Syracuse has used 17 different ball-carriers. In 406 plays, the Knights have used 23.
Despite a lackluster resume, pollsters can’t ignore a one-loss USF team.
The Bulls inched up a spot to #19 in the latest Amway Coaches Poll and did the same in moving up to #22 in the latest Associated Press Poll.
They were once again joined in both set of rankings by conference foes UCF and Memphis. The Knights checked in at #12 and #13 in the Coaches and AP, respectively, while the Tigers were slotted at #16 and #17.
Will Friday’s game be the departure point for either team’s head coach?
Frost’s turnaround at UCF has been remarkable. In fewer than two years, he’s turned an 0-12 program into an undefeated juggernaut. That’s made him a popular candidate for some high-profile coaching vacancies, and he’s been linked to schools like Florida and Nebraska before his regular season could even end. Strong doesn’t quite have the same buzz at USF, but a big finish to 2017 — and a one-loss season — could make him a candidate to rejoin the Power 5.
USF vs. UCF prediction:
The Bulls may be 9-1, but their 2017 schedule lined up more cupcakes than a bakery. USF’s best win this fall is over either Temple or Tulane — and UCF is a major step up from those two programs. Expect the Knights to finish out their perfect regular season.

20+ Wedding Horror Stories That Will Shock The Hell Out Of You
Weddings are no doubt the most special occasion for a couple. While everyone desires and has their own version of a dream wedding, the most important part which everyone hopes for is that everything goes smooth. No matter how hard someone tries, the extravaganza is always prone to some disturbances.
The BuzzFeed community has however shared the most horrible things that can happen in a wedding. The situation gets literally shitty in some situations. Scroll down to explore the horrors!
1 That groom who peed all over the dance floor and more…
I went to a co-workers’ wedding with my boyfriend, and we were nearing the end of the night. I was dancing to an upbeat song when my boyfriend nudged me and pointed towards an area of the dance floor a few feet away. Both the bride and the groom had gotten absolutely wasted, and the groom started to unbuckle his pants. People started to notice what was happening when he began to pee all over the dance floor, causing several people — including the bride — to slip and fall. He then proceeded to shit all over the dance floor. Yes.
—noahp4179c27f0
2 Best man reveals he once dated the bride.
At a wedding a few years ago the best man got up to give his speech and all appeared normal. That is until he mentioned that he knew the groom (his little brother) was getting a loving and supportive partner in his new bride…because he had dated her a few years prior.
—Anonymous
3 Mom’s embarrassing speech.
My family is very religious except for my mother who is much more liberal. She got very drunk and did a speech where she told my husband and I to make love often. Great advice! But wrong place and time. My poor father looked so embarrassed he grabbed the microphone from her. I still have people talking about it.
4 Groom’s unhappy mother
The mother-of-the-groom literally got up, pushed the bride out of the way and told the groom “[the bride’s] not good enough for you, I set you up on eight dates this month and they’re all perfect!” And then she continued to drunkenly scream at them. It was especially crazy because the families had been friends for decades.
—giannaw46bbc5340
5 A family fistfight.
My cousin’s wedding: the groom’s drunk brother got into a fistfight with the bride’s teenage son during the reception…which was held on church property.
—gracem409ffc0f8
6 A scandalous mother-of-the-groom and father-of-the-bride situation.
While I was out of town visiting a friend we went to the wedding of her co-worker. I didn’t know anyone there so I was wandering around the reception hall and walked in on an older couple in a ‘compromising situation.’ Luckily, they didn’t notice me. I thought that was going to be the end of the story, but later on during the reception they each had to give a toast because SHE WAS THE MOTHER OF THE GROOM AND HE WAS THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE!!!!!!! I’ve never told anyone what I saw and I don’t know if their kids ever found out.
—nicoled4dcb77ee3
7 Bride’s dress on fire.
At my friend’s wedding they were setting off fireworks. Next thing you know the bride is screaming as her gown is set alight because of a firework that went off on the ground. Fun times.
—secludedanxiety
  8 A Pacman wedding guest.
I work as part of the banquet staff at a wedding venue and at one wedding in particular we had a very high maintenance and controlling bride who yelled about the littlest details. One of the guests showed up in — I kid you not — a Pac-Man themed suit. She started hysterically crying as the reception started after she saw him for the first time and then started screaming and kicked him out of the reception. Quietest reception ever after that.
—nnh1321
9 A drunk ex-uncle.
A drunk ex-uncle showed up to my cousin’s wedding, and made her dance with him, interrupting the bride and grooms’ first dance (he was not invited).
—rosethorn562
10 A horse stampede.
The bride and groom wanted pictures with a horse. They decided to put the bride on the horse but didn’t count on the horse tossing the bride. The horse then stomped on the maid of honor. By the time the ceremony started, the bride’s dress was covered in grass stains and the maid of honor had a broken foot.
—s42ab5f1d8
  11 The best man’s X-rated show.
The best man came out of the bathroom in only his trousers and suspenders. He proceeded to strip tease until he was completely naked. He then climbed onto a table and, with his junk tucked, danced for the guests while the bride’s grandmother spanked his ass repeatedly.
—beccavirginiaj
12 A drunk Bridesmaid literally on fire.
During the reception my bridesmaid had a little too much to drink. She wasn’t looking where she was going and backed up into a candle with her very long, very hair-spray covered hair. She burnt her dress and her butt-length hair up to her shoulders. And we all know how good burnt hair smells.
—kaylar401220a44
13 A bride who had an allergic reaction to her makeup.
I had an allergic reaction to my airbrush makeup. The salon didn’t offer a trial before and I never thought anything of it. We got to the wedding venue (an hour from the salon) and my entire chin, cheek area and nose were as red as a tomato. I burst into tears. The wedding was only two hours away. Thankfully my matron of honor and best friend had spent months watching makeup tutorials and came prepared with a makeup case to do her own makeup. She took me into the bathroom, dried my tears and fixed it all.
—katiequeeni
14 Minister kept on saying the wrong name.
My ex-boyfriend was marrying his girl Amanda. The minister marrying them knew me and my ex but not the wife to be. The ENTIRE wedding she inserted my name “Joy” into the the places in the ceremony where she should have used “Amanda.” I wanted to die and of course Amanda wanted to kill me but naturally I was in the front row and couldn’t make a graceful exit.
—j466dcda08
15 A groom wasted and found slept in the bushes
Recently at a wedding I was in, a family friend of the groom must have been pregaming early in the day because by the time the wedding began at 5 p.m he was completely wasted. During the entire ceremony he would be yelling and cheering on all of us in the wedding party as we walked down the aisle. Worst part was that there was a videographer not too far from him trying to film the ceremony. We later found him asleep in the bushes outside during the cocktail hour.
—allyw4df1eb889
16 Clash of wedding clans.
The entire male wedding party (plus a few guests) got into a huge brawl outside the venue with another wedding party. This included both the grooms and father- of-the-groom from the wedding I attended. It started because someone bumped into “our groom’s’” mom and didn’t apologize. Father of the groom then said something and it turned into about a 24-person brawl.
—whitneye
17 Flower girl who peed herself.
I was actually the culprit to causing a wedding disaster. I was a flower girl in my aunt and uncle’s wedding and during the ceremony while I was standing up front with the bridesmaids, I proceeded to pee myself. All over my white dress and white stockings. In my defense I kept telling the maid of honor I had to go.

18 The woman who accidentally ripped the bride’s dress.
At my aunt’s wedding, I was holding her bride’s dress to help her up the altar. I stepped on it accidentally and ripped her $3,000 dress in front of everyone.

19 Drunk bride’s mother lifted the dress way too high.
The bride and groom were walking back down the aisle when the bride’s drunk mother ran up behind her and lifted her dress up giving the guests a full shot of the poor bride’s rear end…

20 Wedding party got drenched in bathwater.
We set up our entire beautiful reception and were just about to head out to get our hair done for the ceremony, when all of a sudden the ceiling gave way and the room began to flood with the steaming water. Someone above us had fallen asleep with their bathtub running. We had to use big painters’ buckets to toss the water out of the room and into the waterfall outside. Our wedding party had to redo the setup as a result. The best part was the irony of the fact that the room was called the River Room. We can laugh at it now, but it was a disaster at the time!

21 Wedding DJ got arrested.
At my sister’s wedding, she paid the DJ half before the wedding then was going to pay the other half after. He ended up coming by saying he needed the other half for equipment so we paid him. He was running super late to the ceremony, and eventually called and said he had gotten arrested for not wearing a seat belt. Come to find out he was arrested for drugs of some kind that he used our money for! So we had to improvise by finding some speakers and plugging a phone in and hoping they’d be loud enough!

22 The bride attacked by the ants.
While my husband and I were taking family photos, I apparently stepped on an ant hill. Thousands of ants crawled into all 10 layers of the bottom of my dress. My parents and bridesmaids tried to pick out all the ants — we even tried to get a hair dryer to blow them out — but when I finally took my dress off at the end of the night, hundreds of ants fell out in the shower.

23 Husband waited at the altar more than he bargained for.
My grandfather, who was officiating, forgot to have me enter. Someone had to remind him halfway through the ceremony while my husband was standing at the altar…alone.

24 A literally Hot Wedding which melted the cake.
It was the middle of August and my cousin decided to have her wedding reception indoors, in an area of the church with NO AIR CONDITIONING. At first it was sort of alright, we opened up the two doors and someone brought out a big fan. Fast forward to the cake. The cake melted and fell apart.

25  Mother-of-the-bride with a dramatic accident right before the ceremony.
We were at the hotel taking pictures before the ceremony and my mother tripped over my veil and fell. She hit her forehead with a chair. Needless to say, blood everywhere. My husband was waiting for me at the altar. Literally. I had to call him while having a complete mental breakdown, thinking I had killed my mother on my wedding day and try to explain that we were “running a bit late.” We made it just fine in the end, but after that horrible scene, I almost felt sedated and the ceremony was a piece of cake.

26 The bridesmaid straight from hell.
One of my bridesmaids got super drunk. She knocked over my two-year-old niece (and flower girl) who started crying which really pissed off my sister (the maid of honor). This bridesmaid also disappeared for a large part of the reception and ended up hooking up with (loudly I might add) one of the groomsmen. My sister had to go kick them out of an upstairs room when the wedding was over…oh, and she had come with a boyfriend. The next day at breakfast it was all anyone could talk about. Major thunder stolen. We are no longer friends, if you’re wondering!

27 A half-naked, dancing, drunk uncle.
My uncle got completely plastered at our open bar and then demanded the attention of the entire dance floor. Everyone stopped and stared as he pulled his trousers all the way down, walked backwards and called it “the Moonwalk.”

28 The bride who got bird poop in her hair.
I had a bird poop in my hair during our wedding pictures. The worse part is I felt something and our photographer just cringed and said it was a leaf. Thank God, I had helpful bridesmaids who have to scrape it out with their fingers. Ugg.

29 The bride in a shitty situation…literally.
I had severe diarrhea. My (now husband) fiancée was reading his vows. All of a sudden, the LIQUID CRAP starts flowing out of me. My wedding dress had a long tail. The crap caught the tail, and when I ran off to get changed 20 minutes later, the tail left a streak of crap all over the ground.

The Nefertiti Pages Vee @veleashia #nefertiti #queens It was a little after dawn one evening in September 2008 when I met Vee on campus in Bowling Green, KY. She had been hired as the new Program Director for the Office of Diversity Programs (ODP). She was pleasant and we spoke for a few brief moments during her campus visit. She wasted no time impacting lives on campus. One month after we met, a flyer began circulating that read in mixtape-type graphics THE COME UP: FROM BALLERS TO SCHOLARS. It was a 6 week program for undergraduate men who were “rough” around the edges. We met on Thursday nights for 3 hours with food provided as we learned various life skills from Vee, the ODP Staff, and guest speakers. A $1,000 scholarship would be given to the student who improved the most after the program was over. 3 weeks into the program a highly anticipated party was taking place on a Saturday night. A few of us had linked up to pregame with the new Ciroc. I’m not sure of everyone else but I was 6 shots in by the time we got to the party dressed in suits and vests. A stampede of pictures of us circulated all over Facebook by the following Sunday evening with the most notable one capturing me carrying a balloon in one hand, and, a glass with a lit candle in the other. Yes, I remember it that night… a little. Our next meeting Vee started out, “I have something special for y’all let me run and get it real quick.” She came back with a 4-page packet of pictures of our escapades from Saturday night. “You think this shit is funny? Is this the first impression what you want a potential employer to have of you? Is this how you want to be remembered? I’m out here sacrificing to help you. People are investing in you without anything to go on but my word and this is the thanks I get? Ya’ll got suits, shoes, cuff links, lapel pins, books, psychiatrist visits, and people are coming to see you free. Y’all niggaz don’t deserve shit if this is how y’all gonna be!” (Continue to part 2)
