Beaming Ceilings - 6 new Beam-Style Ceilings

I wanted a small project to give myself a rest, so I saw that there was a lack of ceiling options since the update. I really wanted to add a beam option without having to resort to a 3d model as i find they often get in the way when playing, so a good 2D texture was needed. After some playing around and a little feedback, these are the final options. Will definitely do more in the future of different types when I need a small project because it was a lot of fun.

💗 Working-on-a-big-set Care Package 💗

Sims 4, Base game compatible. 5 items

I am currently working on a big set (see WIP pics on my Patreon!) So while I'm getting that set done, I thought I would post some items that I did for my own game and haven't yet shared. 2 of these items are Sims 2 conversions, one created by simsllama, & the other by pineappleforest.

Always suggested: bb.objects ON, it makes placing items much easier. For further placement tweaking, check out the TOOL mod.

Type “BGC”, "2 to 4" and "acnh" into the search query in build mode to find quickly.

Functional Ceiling Fan (with light included) - BGC

This is a fully functional version of the ceiling fan that came with the Caribbean patch. Unlike the original, it can be turned on/off (instead of always on), it gives a moodlet that cools sims down if you have Seasons installed and it also rotates counter-clockwise instead of clockwise since it makes more sense. Also, I decided to add a light to it, which can be turned on/off separately from the fan. Because of that, I moved it to Lights > Ceiling Lights so it’s easier to find, but it’s also available in Electronics > Miscellaneous and it costs §245 just like the original.

Note: Unlike the original, there is some stuttering in the animation, unfortunately, since I had to create an animation instead of using a pinwheel shader so it could be turned off.

EDIT: I’ve uploaded a new version that doesn’t require the table fan anymore, because the table fan requires Get to Work and the ceiling fan shouldn’t. If it’s working in your game you don’t need to redownload it. If you install the new version, delete the previous one first.

EDIT 2: Apparently the fan still required Laundry Day because of the light bulb, so I created a new version that is finally base game compatible. I also changed the Cool Breeze moodlet icon to a wind icon which makes more sense than a thermometer. If you don’t own Laundry Day please redownload it (and remember to delete the previous version).

Bored of stark white ceilings but want to replace them with something that will go well in every type of build? This might be just the thing for you.

This ceiling replacer uses base game concrete to add a hint of texture while making ceilings slightly less obnoxiously bright.

This will replace ALL the ceilings in your game.

There are three packages, YOU CAN ONLY USE ONE AT A TIME.

amoebae_CeilingReplacer_LightConcrete01 = This is the one in the main screenshots. I recommend this if you use ReShade (but it's up to you)

amoebae_CeilingReplacer_LightConcrete01_Lighter = A tiny smidge lighter than the one above, in case it's too dark for you

amoebae_CeilingReplacer_LightConcrete01_Lightest = A smidge lighter again. These last two versions may be better for you if you don't use ReShade

NEW! (2021-09-01) amoebae_CeilingReplacer_WarmConcrete_01 = This is the same as the first file in the list, but with a warmer tone. I realised the others were a little too cool for my tastes.

NEW! (2021-09-15) amoebae_CeilingReplacer_WarmConcrete_02 and amoebae_CeilingReplacer_WarmConcrete_03 = These are the same as WarmConcrete_01, but gradually darker. I had to reduce the contrast on the darker tones because otherwise the tiling of the repeating pattern was too noticeable.

NEW! (2021-09-15) amoebae_CeilingReplacer_DarkConcrete_01 and amoebae_CeilingReplacer_DarkConcrete_02 = These are a much darker neutral and much darker warmer version of the above. Again, I had to reduce the contrast on these darker tones.

Just pop your chosen package file in your Mods folder, make sure you have Mods and Custom Content enabled in the game menu, and don't forget to look up!

You can swap between these packages whenever you like, but please remember to remove the old one first, because as a replacer multiple types will conflict with one another.

NOTE: I have noticed some odd joins on some ceilings where there is a wall above. It may be that this was always a thing but with the game's default plain white ceiling texture it wasn't noticeable. The texture I've used is seamless, so the problem must lie with how Maxis has chosen to tile it below rooms. To my knowledge there is nothing I can do about this, but the problem seems to be minimal and where it does occur it seems to only be viewable from one direction (which is weird).
